Problems with 2017 Honda Accord UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2017 Honda Accord starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 15 889 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2017 Honda Accord

All four door locks have failed on the vehicle, needing to be replaced. the first door lock - rear passenger - failed in the first two years of owning the car. it was replaced at honda dealership under warranty. the door lock failed again about a year later. the front passenger door lock and rear driver door lock failed thereafter. all three have been replaced. now driver door lock has failed necessitating a replacement. additionally, trunk lock has failed which needed to also be replaced.

Rear camera has malfunctioned. the dashboard screen shows a black background with horizontal 'vibrating ' lines. 2018 honda accords had a recall for this but to date there has been no recall for the 2017 accords although it seems to be the same problem.

Last night i had just gotten home from worked and gone in the house to change for church. less than 5 minutes later, i returned to my car and when trying to start it, it would start up. lights flickered on dash, but it wouldn't turn over. had roadside assistance come to jump start car. less than 24 hours later, the same thing happened. car won't start after driving this morning and this afternoon already. this is the third time this his happened this year, with in a few months. car has less that 50k miles. this needs to be looked into because if i'm in the middle of nowhere, this could be very dangerous.

Tires/wheels makes a grinding noise at low speeds.

Rear view camera goes blank or completely dark intermittently when shifting from park (p) to reverse gear (r). have to stop the car, switch off the ignition, restart the car to make the back up camera work again.

For the second time in less than two months, the emissions/electrical/check engine on the 2017 honda accord is an issue. i have researched the internet and i am finding that this is a common error on the 2016 honda's and newer. the emission error system has come on again. the last time i had this problem the converter had to be replaced. the system error comes on when driving when raining, which makes me believe that there is also a electrical problem as well. i find this concerning on a new, 100 percent dealer maintained vehicle. there is obviously an electrical/emission problem in the system and it requires an independent party to review. the tech states no issue can arise from having the check engine/emission light on but the car does tend to lose power during these issues. honda owners should not be held liable for manufacture errors.

Recently took my car in for car doc maintenance for and an oil change. paperwork states the battery is good. upon leaving the dealership after mechanic brought my vehicle out to me i jumped tried to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start so i informed the honda mechanic and they gave me a jump with the jumper box. it's been 1 month since then and my car won't start at the oddest times even after i've been driving for a while. car won't start or turn over and the lights just flicker on and off. i'm currently waiting on a tow truck to get a jump my car is parked in the garage and it won't start. very frustrated with honda i had the car less than 2 years and i have less than 50k miles

Tire bead noise on 2017 honda accord sport with continental tires, tire makes alot of noise when driving. honda refuses to take responsibility and cover it under warranty and does not offer any repair. they even charged me a diagnostics fee.

Sun roof exploding while driving on interstate

Automobile will just stop starting. after jump starting, it will operate fine for several months. then problem will resurface.

Tamara recall - sometimes but not all there is hesitation when making left hand turns after stopping at a traffic light. occasionally this will happen with right hand turns but not as often. i had coggin honda in st augustine check the problem out but they could not determine there was a problem with the car but thought it was a driver error.

Over the last several days the car would not start without requiring a jump for the battery. then it would run, but once the car was off and had to be restarted it would require another jump. had the battery tested and brought the car to dealership and they state nothing is wrong with the vehicle. (it started there no problem). it ran fine for the next few days, but currently its parked and won't start. the only lights that displayed was the eps which turned off shortly after the car started.

My honda accord 2017 4 cyn all of dash board lights lit up, the steering wheel partially locked while i was driving going 55 mph. i pulled over and couldn't cut the car off with my start button. after about 5 minutes i was able to finally cut it cut off. then it would not start at all. then after another 5 minutes it started and i went straight to the car dealership january 2019. about seven months earlier, my car would start at all. i went to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong. they told me only thing it might be was the battery, i bought a battery and my car was only 11 months old. recently, february 2019, now my battery is 7 months old, my car wouldn't start again. they can't find anything wrong with my car, but i am having issues. there have been times when i start my car and the dash lights do not come on and i hold the button on the dash and the system reboot and the dash light come on. my car is at the dealership and now it is starting, but the said everything is registering that nothing is wrong. i have an huge issue because i can't be strained in this cold winter weather and my car not starting. this is unsafe because i was in motion less than a month ago on the highway going 55 mph and my car froze in motion. cjb february 2019

The car caught on fire by itself, a car only with 13,000 miles and 1 year of usage that means almost brand new car. i drove 9 miles aprox. from home to my work location. when i arrive and park the car before going upstairs, i saw the car blowing unusual smoke from the engine compartment, i opened the hood and i saw the fire was coming between the engine and the radiator. i call the 911 and when they arrived they tried to use a fire extinguisher but the fire started getting out of control, forcing them to use the water hose to stop the fire. honda is not taking care of this safety concern and no body knows what happened

Battery died after less than 2 years of use. needed to replace. no electrical use of the vehicle, pep boys says its a common issue with new hondas. needed to tow car and dangerously turned off in the middle of the street when the battery died.

So there are a few issues with my 2017 honda accord sport first one is the tire whooshing sound it makes i know i have seen many people complain about the same thing and i have took it to the dealer but they are unable to do anything until a recall is made very frustrating that i have to wait until a recall is made to get this problem fixed second issue my tpm keeps coming on i just took it for an oil change and had the tire pressure checked and adjusted and barley a day later it comes back on the this has been going on for the last 3 months i checked the tires they are in really good condition lots of life on them and same response from the dealer can't do anything super frustrating third issue is that when it is hot outside and the inside of my car gets hot my screen shuts off i am talking this one in to the dealer to leave it hopefully they can get it fixed and don't give me the same answer as i got for all my other issues

Car needed to be jumped started twice. dealership unable to find causeo of battery not functioning. towed to dealership. battery and all other diagnostic tests failed to show any cause of dead battery. first time, car would not start after waiting 20 mins. second time, car in garage over night would not start.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 honda accord. while inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the front bumper started to melt. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (dublin honda, 6300 dublin blvd, dublin, ca 94568), where the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic for the bumper repairs but still the failure was not determined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 4,661.

When you accelerate on the gas the car jumps and you can feel it in the gas pedal. i have taken it to honda and they can not figure it out since no one else has complained about it. doesn't jump all the time but mostly when i am over 40 mph, sometimes it has jumped as soon as i have taken off

When car is running for an hour or more and then stationary (outside in the driveway) with the cabin air on, the smell of gasoline is coming into the cabin and is very noticeable. i took my baby daughter out for a drive to get her to fall asleep and when i reached home i usually sit with her in the car while it runs, but the smell was so strong that i had to wake her and remove her from the car. brought the car to the dealer today (01/29/18) who noted no gas leaks and stated that gas gap was not as tight as it could be, but it seems improbable that it would cause that much of a smell in the cabin. seeing similar complaints for honda cr-v and feel like the dealer could do more exploration, but didn't so they could not do further exploration of the issue. they claimed they could not smell the gasoline but something else and said it was "off gassing of the internal engine compartment chemicals". both my husband and i could smell gasoline.

Smells like fish when turning on the heat & a/c. the tires are dry rotted. this car is not brand new and must have come from an area where there was flooding. lithia honda in medford oregon selling cars that are really totaled out cars from floods or hurricane prone areas. this is a danger, as dry rot blow out tires may cause series accidents. out police officers are also driving on these tires! dry rot tires.

Sunroof shattered while driving down the highway with no apparent cause.

The tires that came with the car are not suitable for driving in winter conditions. the tread pattern is designed for dry roads. there are no channels for accumulating slush, snow, etc. to exit the tread to the sides. this causes accumulation in the tread and causes hydroplaning and complete loss of traction. last winter i almost lost total control of this car while on the expressway coming north from o'hare on i94 in slush. i tried asking the kenosha, wisconsin dealership to put all season radials on the car and they refused, saying if i wanted to pay for different tires i could do that. selling or leasing a vehicle in a specific geographical area should include tires that are suited for said area. this car is dangerous to drive in snow or any slippery conditions due to the tires.

I'm not sure but i think it's the regenerative brakes. they came on so hard when i let off the gas. i was almost rear ended and the guy behind me was pissed off. i was on the 15 fwy going about 70 when i let off the gas and the brakes slammed on. and on cost hwy going about 30 mph let off the gas and the brakes slammed on.

My 2017 honda accord (v-6) had no electrical power on 9-17-2017. there were 800+ miles on the car. the car's electrical system was dead; no sign of electrical power at all. the car was towed (at honda's expense) to a dealer, not the dealer where i purchased the car. the dealer "cleared battery codes" and then could find notheing wrong with the car. i have not experienced any problems since with the car which now has 1,134 miles on it

When first drove new car off lot (0 miles) 9/2016 and many times over several months later to (7k mi) 8/2017, car tire pressure light continues to come on while driving in city and highway traffic. dealer claims tires not part of car warranty. replaced tire, light still comes on. distracting and annoying...don't know if tires properly inflated. uncomfortable seating and head rest (driver's seat).

The vehicle i owned is 2017 honda accord touring. problem i discovered was center console silver stripe (passenger side) pop up. i went to dealership have it fixed. the problem occurs every month, and i am getting tried to fix it every month. the silver stripe piece is sharp, could possibly cut your finger or skin. i owned the vehicle for almost a year, like new, with less than 3k miles on it.

There is a loud wind noise on the driver's side of the car. it was noticeable when i drove on the highway above 60 mph. i had it evaluated by the honda care center and they replaced the window strip; however, once i accelerate past 40 mph it is even more pronounced tjan before. i returned to the service center and i was told that it was not fixable as it is in the design of the car. it seems highly unlikely to me that engineers would allow a car on the road with known "wind issues" or a design flaw. this is my fourth honda accord and never has this been an issue.

Brand new 2017 honda accord sport 2500 miles. air started blowing hot. took it to the honda dealership. i was told that a rock has hit my condenser causing a leak and it would not be covered under warranty. i drive mostly interstate and i do not see how this could have happened so soon unless i hit a boulder or something. i have a 09 accord that i have never had any problems with

Loud grinding noise coming from front wheels on 2017 accord sport since almost new. very noticeable at lower speeds. honda dealer insisted grinding noise was from tire/rim combination and not items such as rotors, brakes, and/or wheel bearings, etc..

On the night on july 3, 2017 the 2017 honda accord which was only 5 weeks old was parked in the driveway of my house. the car was in park and the motor was turned off. you would not be able to remove the key unless the car was in park. the car that was parked in front of the honda accord went to back out without realizing a car was behind it. the other vehicle involved was a kia optima. the kia optima lightly bumped the honda accord and stopped as soon as it realized the honda was behind it. there was no damage to the front of the honda accord or to the back of the kia optima. the honda accord was parked on a flat surface at the time. when the kia hit the honda the honda rolled down the driveway and hit a light pole. the entire light pole crashed down and broke. at first i thought that this was impossible until i saw my neighbor's video footage of the incident. we contacted honda service department and of course at first they thought that was impossible until they saw the video. after a few days honda got corporate tech support involved and was told not to release the car back to me until they found out what was wrong. after about a week honda told me that they were unable to duplicate the problem but as a "precautionary measure" they were going to replace the transmission. they did replace the transmission but said they would not pay for the damage to the back of the honda or the light pole. i feel that they should be responsible for the damage to the car and the light pole. a car that is lightly bumped should not roll away. it could have been much worse had a child been behind the car or the light pole could have crashed onto something. i feel like they found something wrong with the transmission and are covering up for it otherwise if they truly found nothing wrong with the transmission then why did they replace it in the first place.

Collision detection system falsely goes off on a regular basis due to opposing traffic. slams brakes to floor, overriding accelerator- has happened in the middle of an intersection twice and on a two way straightaway with no vehicle in my lane. i've had the car for 1 month and almost been in 3 accidents due to this faulty system which i am now deactivating. i've driven vehicles with these before (ford) and it never went off like this- the system is defective and dangerous.

My new accord with a v6 engine likes to engine brake by itself. as a result it will not coast and makes braking unpredictable and very tiring, especially when doing city driving that involves stop signs and red lights. when in medium traffic between 25 and 40 mph you can feel it downshifting every time. when coming to a corner and making the right turn car jerks as it downshifts or upshifts. i have taken this car to a honda dealership twice on 6/23/17 and on 6/26/17 and they felt what i was describing both times and dismissed it as normal. the case manager i complained to also dismissed it as normal while treating my concern as nothing but a typical complaint including when i told him that my neck jerked one time as a result of the rough shifting. there are multiple companies online about this exact same issue for the 9th generation accord and even older models, all with the v6 engine. for reference i had the exact same issue on an 05 accord v6 on which the same dealer felt the issue and said it was because of bad engine mounts. i had those replaced and the issue persisted and when i took it in again they called it normal operation of the transmission at this point (really?!!). when the issue got worse i took it in to a local certified shop in valparaiso in (other times were in chicago) at 59,000 miles at they replaced it with a brand new trans from honda. the issue never went away. my mechanic who drove the old car and test drove the new one called this completely abnormal. this guy has 40 years experience with vehicles ranging from toyota to mercedes and a whole neighborhood who will vouch for how good he is. i am taking the new accord in one more time tomorrow (6/28/17) to the dealer of origin but i am guessing the same answer will arise. please help me with this. this engine braking is not normal.

Takata recall, is my current car under recall for the bag inflator?

The head restraints in the honda accord (2017) are so uncomfortable and forward-leaning that they cause drivers and passengers to drive in a "chin down" position. this is causing musculoskeletal issues that will likely require attention and treatment in the near and distant future.

The car tempts to shake and when put on drive the car won't move forward passing 20 mph. when the car os placed on reverse the car won't go back and even though i press the accelerator it struggles to go back. this has been doing it for three times already for the past 2 months. i bought this car on june 2017. this car started failing within a month.

There is a noticeable and very annoying wind noise at ear level from either the drivers or the front passengers window. very annoying for this brand new accord ex. we hope nhsta acts and suggest to issue tsb and fix for all their vehicles.

2017 accord lx * automatic transmission * 3000 miles i have new accord lx and the i drove it on the highway, my wife and i noticed wind noise coming from the driver side door panel. we checked that all the window and doors were firmly shut, but it persisted. now with the radio off i notice it every time i accelerate to above 40 mph

My 2017 honda accord touring has unintended breaking once the gas pedal is released, rather than slowing down to a stop it abruptly applies the breaks on its on without any car in sight (therefore it has nothing to do with safety feature) whether i am driving on a flat even surface road, up or down a hill. in order to prevent or minimize the unexpected breaking i am having to apply the gas to maintain a constant velocity before applying the brakes. even if i am going 40,30, 25 mphs and i apply the brakes to gradually come to a stop the car is still stopping abruptly on its own with its unannounced braking as it goes from 40 to 30 and so forth and overriding my application off applying the brakes. and to be clear it has nothing to do with the level of pressure applied or not applied on the brakes, etc. there is also a noise that i have picked up each time it brakes. not to mention that i have also driven a similar year make and model of the new car i purchased and this did not occur, so it's definitely an issue with my car (whether its software related, etc.). in addition to this i have noticed that the rpms when the car is idling while on park or with my foot on the brake is higher than normal (over 750rpms, when it should be no more than 500rpms when idling), which might explain why the car is jolting on its own when i release my foot off the brake without applying the gas. when a car is driven at a speed of 40mps, etc mphs and you release your foot off the gas pedal the car is supposed to decelerate slowly on its own, not go through moments where it applies hard braking then resumes gradual deceleration to then again stop abruptly, which is what this car is constantly doing. not to mention that even maintaining cruising speed (whether 25, 40 65) in the car doesn't seem to hold the speed at a constant rate, it either decides to speed up or decelerate on its own.

Seats are extremely uncomfortable. they are made for a much larger person and push my head forward. i can't find a car with seats that fit me. this could lead to a dangerous drive.

The wind noise is not at acceptable range. when you accelerate past 45 miles per hour, it is unbearable. the noise is heard by front and rear passengers. purchased this car in 12/9/2016 and have reported it to the dealership on 3 different occasions.

Sunroof on accord exploded while driving. the edges of the shards were pointing upwards. dealer is saying that we were hit by something and is not covered under warranty. nothing hit me while driving, heard a loud explosion with glass raining down and the roof and trunk lid are visibly scratched from the glass. i've had the car for only 2 weeks when this occurred. *tr

I bought 2017 honda accord and within a day there were 2 air bag signs came up. called dealership and they said whenever you come this side bring the car. they checked the car that weekend and found a faulty srs module. they replaced it, but how a new car have a faulty srs module? how quality control dept. stamped it without checking it? what if something would have happened to me?
