My vehicles cruse control, lane departure, collision warning and lane assist completely stopped working after being parked (stationary) in my driveway, vehicle has always had problems with front suspension since new and become unstable with braking hard if another driver cut me off having to apply brakes or when applying brakes down hill.. vehicle was taken to deal for front suspension but never fixed after multiple attempts under warranty.. the latest issue with driver safety system is a manufacturers failure as these are features supposedly to prevent accidents and so fourth on public roads and highways. my vehicle is just over 4 years old and maintained and serviced to manufactures specification. in researching thru the web i found honda owners having this same issue with their vehicle. i believe honda should recall and fix these problems on their vehicles computer / software or sensors for public safety. part of the weather door window stripping is also deteriorating.
When the engine is cold there is a sudden acceleration when the vehicle is in reverse or forward and in motion normally in a parking lot or backing out of my garage.
I was parking my 2016 honda accord in a shopping center. as i was slowly inching forward to park, the car suddenly accelerated on its own (without me pushing the accelerator) and went forward so fast it went over a retaining wall that separated us from an adjoining shopping center and dropped about 4-5 ft down into that adjoining parking lot. the airbags deployed and caused us injury. the car is most likely totaled at this point (waiting to find out from my adjustor). the acceleration was sudden and extreme. i didn't have time to hit the brakes. it was a matter of a split second before we were thrown into the other parking lot. (attaching a picture so the scene of the accident makes sense) note: i do not have access to the car right now so i am guessing my mileage because there was not an option to indicate "unknown" on the form.
#1 issue on sep 23 2017 we were going down an incline, in the city, applying the brakes and going about 25mph when the engine accelerated. we were approaching a stop sign at a busy intersection. he applied the brakes harder but the car would not stop. after the initial shock my husband thought to put it into neutral and we were able to stop. we took our car into our honda dealer. they could not duplicate the problem so they stated the car did not have a problem. honda had our car for 2 weeks and drove 54miles without incident. we contacted american honda and got a case number. they called us to tell us they had contacted our honda dealer and they agreed nothing was found so our car did not have a problem. #2 issue the first week after we purchased our honda in january 2016 the compass went out. honda service put in a new sending unit. in sep 2017 the compass and fuel mpg readout on the instrument panel went blank. this happened along with the acceleration problem that we stated above.. we took it into for repair and they could not duplicate the issue so they would not do any replacement or repair. then, on oct 24th the compass and the radio stopped working. the radio came back on within a minute, but the compass did not work accurately again for several hours. we have send an email to the service manager and are waiting for a reply. our car has 16,000 miles on it..
I was driving my car under 25 mph on local road when the car suddenly accelerated and went off road causing sever damage to both wheels and undercarriage.
Unintended acceleration. 2016 honda accord, 9200 miles. on 7/14/17 i pulled into the parking lot of my local drugstore. i located a parking spot, and was slowly turning right to pull into the parking space when my engine revved, the car accelerated, up over the concrete curb, over bike rack and into the side of the brick building. by this time, both of my feet were on the brake but the car did not stop. the airbag deployed. i turned the car off. police were called and an accident report was taken. i contacted honda america and they assigned me a case manager, who returned my call and took all information. honda sent a field representative to examine the car at the body shop. after this the case manager called me to let me know honda found nothing wrong with the car, followed by a letter to confirm that. my foot was not in the accelerator at the time of the crash. i have supporting documents, accident report, repair bill, medical bills. i will provide these to you by mail or fax. i cannot seem to upload on the mobile application.
Vehicle has experienced 7 sudden acceleration surges during low speed driving events in which the vehicle is being stopped. the brake pedal is depressed and the vehicle is slowing to a stop when it will suddenly, unexpectedly and without warning surge forward as the engine revs. given the repeated events the operator must maintain vigilance when stopping and be prepared to maintain firm and increased brake pressure when the event occurs. the vehicle was evaluated by honda at a honda dealership. no faults or problems were identified and the vehicle declared problem free. the events have been occurring with increasing frequency since the first occurrence. the events occur in parking areas. the first event caught the operator by surprise and resulted in the vehicle surging forward and impacting a sign at a curb in a parking area in front of a building. the vehicle was in the shop on may 11, 2017.
As i was pulling into a parking space the car suddenly accelerated on it own. my foot was not on the gas pedal as i had braked to turn left into the space. the car went over the concrete parking block and hit the concrete wall which is about 1-2 feet behind the block, the impact caused the airbag to deploy. the weather was cloudy but the pavement was dry. i purchased this accord used, in august, 2016, from a local honda/acura dealer & it had approx. 9200 miles on it.. at the time of this event there was 16,552 miles on the car. the only maintenance done was an oil change, and outside of the tmp light, no indicator lights had come on to prompt me for additional maintenance or repair. the damage caused by this event was sufficient that the insurance company determined the car to be a total loss.

Honda quality problems. we bought a 2016 honda accord in january. after few months the car started to have problems. the car loses acceleration all of a sudden and comes to a low speed (0-5 mph) within seconds. every time this happened i was driving on the freeway. i took to the dealer many times. first time - the dealer said that he couldn't find anything wrong with the car second time - as per honda tech, they diagnosed that the chip in the computer is the problem. so they said that the software in the computer needed upgrade (strange.. it is a brand new car. and why is this happening to only one car. it should have been the case with other cars produced at the same time). third time - as per honda tech, they replaced the acceleration kit as they thought that is the problem. fourth time - now they think the wiring is the problem and replaced that. every time, i drove that car trusting them, i risked my life. i avoided accident 8 times on freeway from being rear ended. i drove into the central ditch on the freeway and injured my shoulder. i am on medication for the past 1+ month. i am worried that i drive this car and am going to die.
I had 2 incidents of sudden acceleration on may 5, 2016 with my 2016 honda accord ex. i drove my car in my apartment complex 10:30 pm may 5, 2016 to pay rent, drove car home a few blocks. i put car in position to back into parking space. car in reverse. car accelerated so fast, my car went flying over the curb, grass, sidewalk. put car into drive from reverse to stop car - it accelerated again! car shot straight into court. i put both feet on brake pedal - my brake lights were on (girl walking dog witnessed this). car was flying - i had nowhere to go - 3 apt buildings on left - 20 cars parked on right side. i used emergency brake to stop car - since brakes did not slow car down. i was about to hit tree head on - i saw last parking space empty. i swerved sharply to the right, pulled hard on emergency brake and stopped.. the engine made terrible noise, burning oil, burning rubber from tires i had experienced runaway car or sudden acceleration caused by a malfunction in the electronics that control vehicle powertrain. since introducing electronics into throttle control, cases of sudden acceleration have risen dramatically. sudden acceleration is often reported in brand new vehicles like mine. there is no "proof" of this - at honda shop - unless engineer called in, which honda won't do. there is no fix for this. once this happens - it will definitely happen a 2nd time - some are killed, some in coma, paralyzed. i called the pioneer lawyer on "sudden acceleration" claims. he told me i was quite lucky cheating death by an inch, and i seemed so calm. the dealer has my car all week, no calls from anyone. won't give me loaner car. i have had no car for 8 days now. i can't drive this car - so need to get honda to buy it back. dealers will never admit to problem, blames sudden acceleration on innocent people.
