Battery has been replaced twice in 1 year

Had battery sensor problems witched cause the alternator not to charge the battery completely. as a result alternator got damaged and was left to install a new one.

Concerning the battery, i was parked in a parking stall and when i try to start my car to leave it would not start i had to call a tow truck to give me a jump. no lights or anything was left on i had turn my car completely off and then i tried to start it and it would not start i was only there like long enough to order my food and then to leave so maybe 20 minutes in my car would not start ,due to the battery. concerning the fuel system i was at a signal had my foot on the break and the car exceller rated on its own if i would not have my foot on the break i felt like it would've hit the car in front of me the whole car moved i had a passenger with me and they identify the same thing i talked took my car to the dealer i told them what had happened and they told me just don't park too close behind a car that was their response to me.i was stationary behind a vehicle at a signal waiting for the signal to turn green so i could go that's when this happen on a regular street

Clock resets every time i turn car off. mileage performance per tank of gas resets also.

Honda accord 2016 eps system lock power sterling wheel during drive. lucky, i can slow down and shut off the engine to avoid accident. this vehicle just 34600 miles and day purchase just expired 30 days. honda should fix this issued more than warranty and avoid people in danger with this type issued in future.

When i drive my car. it suddenly jumps. it seems like its the transmission problem. it happens at low speed as well as high speed. i have done everything possible to keep my car maintained. also its battery is dying after having it for 3 years. i have to jump the car at random times because the car would not start.

Car will not start after sitting in the parking lot for 10 mins when nothing turned on. this is the 2nd time in 6 months. the first incident was in december 2017 in bay area ca, and now in pleasanton ca with temp about 60 degrees outsider.

I leased a new 2016 accord sport in march 2016. i just recently purchased it out of the 3 year lease. in the 2nd year of lease (12/08/2017) i was at the gas station with the car shut off, tried to start it and it wouldn't start. battery wasn't working. (original honda battery still in it). the car was at 80k miles. tried to jump start and it wouldn't start. called to have it towed home, tow driver tested the battery and jumped it and it started but was having issues so he said to get it home. i replaced the battery immediately that night. (new store bought battery) no issues until now (april 2019). was driving last night in the rain and all 4 of my dash lights came on at the same time (anti-lock break-abs, tire pressure-tpms, traction control, electric power steering-eps). i have associated this issue with several dealers and it has been linked to the battery causing these sensors to trip as they are not getting enough power. hundreds of complaints for this same issue! once the battery is replaced, the problem goes away. i have owned this car now for 3 years exactly and this will be the 3rd battery i have had to put in this car, but this vin is not covered under the battery recall? the battery recall (17v418000) is for water getting into the battery case and causing shorts and possibilities for electrical fires. something on this vin model is having severe battery issues, possibly related to the water with last nights incident, but 3 batteries in 3 years is unacceptable. this is a $27,000 vehicle. all battery issues need to be reviewed for recall issues.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. the contact stated that the vehicle's battery failed. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v418000 (electrical system). the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 36,639. the vin was unavailable.

Battery has been replaced 3 times and constantly drains despite turning off automatic lights and air conditioning to utilize less battery power. turning over will choke at times and start but about every time that i take my car in for an oil change the battery power tests low.

Both rear door lock actuators have failed within for 20k miles of ownership. dealership has replaced both actuators under warranty.

Car shook every light came on lost brakes and burst into flames. i used emergency brake to stop vehicle. i was on ramp to expresseaylie on long island. thankfully was right near shoulder and not going to fast other wise i wouldn't have been able to control car and may have hit another car tree or wall. car was melted and fire dept came and put it out.

Cell phone no longer works connected to the control panel when vehicle is in motion or stationary. when calls are coming in and answered, it disconnects.

My car has cut off on me twice and both times are after i went through the car wash. there is a battery sensor recall that was fixed previously but i think that it is still not fixed. the last time i had to get my car towed bc it would not start. i had to get the car jumped and took it to get the battery tested. i was told the battery is good and showing 100%.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. while driving, the contact heard an abnormal noise intermittently. suburban honda (25100 haggerty rd, farmington hills, mi 48335, (248) 477-1700) was unable to determine the cause of the failure on more than two occasions. the contact reviewed technical service bulletin: 16002 pertaining to the fly wheel and starter, but the dealer kept the vehicle for further diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired as the dealer indicated that it was out of warranty and the starter and fly wheel were not connecting properly. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. after driving the vehicle and turning the engine off, the battery power would drain and the vehicle could not be restarted. after replacing the battery with a new battery, the failure continued. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 56,000.

Both my accords daytime running lights burned out after 30,000 miles. it is apparently not fixable so to fix this would be a whole new headlight ? every accord i see on the road now has the drls burned out.. really annoying and a safety hazard as almost all newer vehicles come standard with them and not burned out already.. and coincidentally around the time the warranty runs out. very disappointing please recall asap. thanks

A year after having the vehicle i had to get a new transmission on 5/2017. after the the first repair i started to have issue with my dash board lights and gear indicator would scrambled on and off. three months later i had my vehicle wouldn't start and i was told i needed a new battery. 8/19/2018 the vehicle broke down again. its currently at the shop and they are saying its the transmission. each time the vehicle broke down i was traveling on the interstate when the vehicle started to shift gears.

Driver side headlight led burned out at 52,000. purchased a used headlight and it has the same problem

My battery has a shortage-2016 with less than 40,000 miles this is clearly a defect

Driver side led strip went out around 33k partially, dealership wants to charge 1k to fix it, stating it will need an entire need headlight. led strips should last longer than 2 1/2, 33k miles.

The daytime running lights failed after the headlight assembly was flickering and hot, this issue started in the passenger side and now both daytime running lights are out. i contacted honda about this issue and they informed me that they do not have a current recall for this issue and to contact the dealer. the dealer will not fix the problem because the warranty expired. i bought this car because the day time running light safety feature. i did a research of this problem and it is a common problem in this vehicle. i am concern that this electrical problem can cause a fire.

The backup camera has quit working. when in reverse the screen is now black.

Tl* the contact owned a 2016 honda accord. while driving 45 mph, multiple indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact stated that sparks appeared from the front and rear of the vehicle. the contact pulled over, exited the vehicle, and shortly after, the vehicle caught on fire. a police report was filed. the passenger of the vehicle sustained a foot injury that required medical attention. the vehicle was destroyed. the dealer was contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 5,000. *tt *tr

A recall was issued regarding the battery management sensor and battery is out at 46k miles. how do we know that the battery management sensor didn't take out the battery also since is it managing the battery? also, half of the daytime running lights on the driver side headlight decide to go out too. if you web search these issues, these are common issue for the honda accord. i guess honda is only known to be reliable until the warranty period is over.

Second time on the last four days that my car will not start. i took it in for service at eh honda autonation in costa mesa ca and they told me that everything checked out fine. i was working in los angeles four days later and once again the car wouldn't start. this is after driving a few short distances and then the car just wont turn over. i have had to have the car jumped twice in the last four days. this is a problem because of where i work and i cannot let my wife drive the car due to not having the confidence that the car will start, especially if she has the kids with her. i will be taking it in again on monday and see what they have to say. i have read that there are parts dealing with the battery that can not only cause starting issues, but shorts in the electrical system. i understand that problems occur, but the fact that this is the second time in four days i starting to wonder if honda is now selling vehicles off their name and not their quality. not willing to give up on them just yet, but it will depend on what they do to fix this issue.

Just for the daytime bulb we need to replace the whole headlight unit which will cost us $550 to $850. its such a bad engineering from honda.

When starting the vehicle, first time for the day, top and bottom center display touch screens went black and there is no functionality of any of the associated functions: no navigation, no blue tooth, no back-up camera, no side view camera when turning. this is a repeated issue. does not reset.

Issue 1: led strip on front headlight defective. had two defective headlight led strips go out on my vehicle. issue 2: chasis making squeaking sound when driving less than 5 mph driving on incline.

#1 issue on sep 23 2017 we were going down an incline, in the city, applying the brakes and going about 25mph when the engine accelerated. we were approaching a stop sign at a busy intersection. he applied the brakes harder but the car would not stop. after the initial shock my husband thought to put it into neutral and we were able to stop. we took our car into our honda dealer. they could not duplicate the problem so they stated the car did not have a problem. honda had our car for 2 weeks and drove 54miles without incident. we contacted american honda and got a case number. they called us to tell us they had contacted our honda dealer and they agreed nothing was found so our car did not have a problem. #2 issue the first week after we purchased our honda in january 2016 the compass went out. honda service put in a new sending unit. in sep 2017 the compass and fuel mpg readout on the instrument panel went blank. this happened along with the acceleration problem that we stated above.. we took it into for repair and they could not duplicate the issue so they would not do any replacement or repair. then, on oct 24th the compass and the radio stopped working. the radio came back on within a minute, but the compass did not work accurately again for several hours. we have send an email to the service manager and are waiting for a reply. our car has 16,000 miles on it..

When i turn the defroster on the radio turns to static. engine then revs up extremely high. the vehicle will do this stationary or moving and in a driveway, on a highway and in the city and while turning. it was rear ended july 24, 2017 at approximately 3:30 pm with roughly $1,000 in damages.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v418000 (electrical system). the dealer (vann york honda, (336) 841-6200) inspected the vehicle, but made no mention that the remedy and part were unavailable to receive the recall repair at that time. the contact later noticed that the vehicle failed to start. the battery was replaced by the contact, but the failure progressed. months later, the contact received a second letter indicating that the parts were available. the dealer (autopark honda, (919) 467-4747) was to schedule an appointment to diagnose the vehicle and address the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available. parts distribution disconnect.

Ignition key has been hard to insert and start the car since we've had it. had 12k miles on it when purchased. key could not be removed except by a locksmith and could not start the car. ignition thinks a key is still in it even though it has been removed. taking it to the dealer for replacement.

Purchased 2016 accord touring in may 2016. in april 2017 the car would not start - appeared to be a battery issue. had the honda roadside service come to the house, they jump started it, told to let it run/drive it for 1/2 hour. did that. went shopping and when i tried to start it again electronics went crazy, wipers went on their own and the stop button would not turn off the car. had it jumped again by honda roadside. took it to the dealer, they replaced the battery - said it had a bad cell in it, said there were no tech svc bulletins on the car and said there were 100's of ground wires in this car that may cause a problem w/battery premature failure.

I purchase a 2016 honda accord on 10/29/2016 and since i've had major problems with the electrical system as well as the lighting and the braking system!!! 1 wk after purchasing this can all the font lights went out on the car as well as the phone system with the connection to the blutooth has a shortage the only issue repaired was the lighting on the front headlights the inside lights was never repaired !!! also the braking system was not stopping as should have been properly stopping on instant stop!!! i have made sudden stops which lead me to the braking system locking up and the car either spiraling out of control on the brakes locking up and sliding a complete car length before coming to a complete stop!!! until this on day on 4/07/17 attempting. to make a complete sudden stop only leaving me sliding a car length plus smashing into the back of a pick up truck,,, with the front end of this 2016 honda accord possibly total,,, i call the honda association speaking to [xxx] and due to insurance not paying honda refused to send this inspectors out ,,, and proceeding to inform me that they have sent a notice out!!! the car is only 4 moths old and has a new owner so how is is possible that i received a notice??? [xxx] refused to inform me of the type of notice sent as well as what the notice was for as well as what address etc due to no insurance claim !!! i trusted the interfaith of hona and that this company would not have this type of unsafe vehicle traveling on anybodys highways with unsafe brakes endangering live of me and others,,,, i. an he contacted for more information at [xxx]!!! i am asking that my car. e inspected and the honda be felt with accordingly,,, thanks information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Vehicle would not start possibly due to alternator or battery malfunction after being purchased for one year.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 honda accord. the contact stated that the lane departure system would be deactivated, but would independently reactive while driving above 65 mph. the failure occurred at least three times. the contact also mentioned that the gauges and warning indicators would flicker on the instrument panel. failure milage was 10,000. *tt

Purchased my coupe in november 2016 brand new. i have less than 8600 miles on it. the other night my car went into complete shutdown, completely dead. i was told it could be the main fuse. why would the main fuse blow on brand new car? that very dangerous while driving. luckily i was pulling into my mother's driveway and not on the highway or in traffic.

Intermittently starts. will only start when using push start 75% of the time. other 25% there is a winding and grinding sound. must repeat push start 5 to 6 times before ignition will fire. this occurs randomly while vehicle is not in motion. starter will not fire the engine and may be shorting out or is hung up or miss firing. smells of heated plastic noted during and after miss fire.

About a month ago i began having intermittent starting issues. i turn the key to start and it may or may not activate the starter. now, the issue has worsened to the point it may start on the first attempt, or require 10 or more attempts before power to the starter is achieved. being a retired mechanic it acts like there is a loose wire or ground at the starter. talking with honda, my warrenty has expired (3 year/36,000 mile) and they require over $100 to diagnosis the issue. researhing this issue on the internet i have found several honda owners with the exact issue. they all state that honda corrected the issue by replacing the starter. i purchased my honda with an understanding of it to be a reliable vehicle. now, 56,000 miles later (majority are highway miles) i need to replace the starter? the fact is, i have maintained fleets of vehicles, gas and diesel, and i find the need to replace the starter premature and ludicrous! with all the complaints i have read, there is no reason that there is not and has not been a honda starter recall/good faith warranty for what i would claim to become prematuraly defective. further more, in my opinion this electrical issue could evolve into a fire hazard.
