Recently reported STRUCTURE problems on 2010 Honda Accord

Paint is peeling of my car

Roof moulding prematurely wearing out/damage. allowing water to seep into seams into headliner near a-beams of passenger and driver side. water also dripped from headliner and stained it, potentially distracting driver from road. side airbags potentially exposed to water. problem was discovered after car was left outside during rain storm allowing water to pool on roof.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda accord. while attempting to drive the vehicle, the contact noticed that the front driver's seat was wet. the contact also noticed that the roof above the driver's side curtain air bag was leaking water. the contact called urse honda at (888) 691-2241 (772 barnet run rd, bridgeport, wv 26330) and was advised to bring in the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and opened case number: 08427288. the approximate failure mileage was 43,100.

Two issues i am having that tons of people online have complained about. one issue is the variable timing solenoid. at startup the vehicle makes a loud rattling noise for about 5 seconds. the other issue is the exterior weather strip is allowing water to leak into my car.

I was unable to open the rear passenger side door, even after unlocking the door. this could be an extreme safety hazard in the event of a crash, should emergency responders need to gain immediate access to the car and a passenger was unresponsive. the power door lock actuator failed, which causes the door lock to stay engaged even after unlocking the car using the remote fob and using the power lock button on the door. the only way to unlock the door is to manually flip the interior door lock switch. this is the second power door lock actuator to fail, and my car has less than 93,000 miles on it. the power door locks should last the life of the car, and doors that stay locked are an extreme safety hazard. honda charges $298, per actuator, making complete repair close to $1,200. my guess is most people would choose to live with the issue rather than pay the high repair cost, but they don't think about what could happen if they are unresponsive, the car is in flames, and the doors won't open from the outside. i spoke with honda corporate about the issue, and they provided no response. they just said "we document your call." very frustrating.

Burning oil excessively since i have had the car. i never got a recall notice. having to add a qt or better a week. june 12 it stalled out all the way home from work. that was a sunday. just checked the oil on thursday. oil was okay in thursday. on sunday no oil to show on dipstick. burnt at least 3 qts in less than 200 miles! drained what little oil was left. changed filter and put new oil in. still would not run. changed spark plugs and it ran better but still has a slight mis. dtc p0303. the dealership deleted the code and said it wasn't a code in there. will not do anything. i had it read before i took it there and have a picture of it. the paint has been chipping off for over a year, not where rocks hit. places that are curved or rounded. edges of the roof or fender. it's only 6 years old. honda doesn't stand by either of these issues. never again will i own a honda. the car is not leaking oil and it is not smoking. the oil is going some place. and that is causing serious damage to my car. not to mention the damage that's already been caused. a software update doesn't fix the damage that's been caused already.

The paint falls off and turns yellow. the car is garage kept and i only use high quality car wash materials. i was told it was normal for a six year old garage kept car to change colors and the paint fall off. normal wear and tear they said.

Moon roof exploded while driving on hwy 15 in 65 degree weather here in san diego. sounded like a loud explosion. no cars were close to me. only the moon roof was affected, no other damage to the car roof or elsewhere. car only has 75,000. i am the original owner. !st all of my door lock failed, no this!!

Paint started to chip and in the last 2 months has gotten progressively worse. honda has been contacted and will be taking the veh to the dealership to see what they say

The past two times i have brought the car in for an oil change i have been told that the oil level is below the dipstick. both times i have brought the car in for an oil change with 20% oil life showing. shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes gets "blocked". that is the only way i can describe it, you go to shift and cant get into gear, either have to go back to 2nd or back to neutral and then back in. the "double pump shift" usually works. i have also had a problem with the speaker deck rattling which i had supposedly fixed under warranty but only to have the same problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda accord. the contact stated that there was excessive rust to the entire subframe and the front axles. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

White diamond pearl paint flaking off driver door and around rear window channel. flaking off in sheets.

On my 2010 honda accord, occurring on all four doors, the window sweeps are melting. these are the strips that keep water from running down, into the door wells from the closed windows. the rubber strips were replaced a few years ago under warranty for this problem. last fall, the new sweeps started to also melt down to a rubbery tar-like consistency. i complained to honda about this defect to no avail. i was told that i would have to pay for new sweeps and for them to be installed. the impression that i received from the service person was that in warmer climate areas this is a problem. it appears that the newer honda vehicles are not suitable for extreme weather conditions and honda is not concerned with the situation. i have had two other older honda vehicles in the past in the same location. never had this happen. *tr

When it rains heavily i am having water leakage from the headliner right above where the side curtain airbags are located on both the passenger and driver side. this problem is causing my seats to get wet along with the headliner to be soaked leaving a water stain once dried. *tr

While driving on hwy 4, antioch, ca. my wife and i heard this loud explosion on the roof of our car. scared the[xxx] out of us. we pulled off the freeway, got out and checked the roof. the sun roof was completely blow out with glass everywhere. like a bomb went off. nothing hit us, the freeway was really clear. if we had our inside top panel opened, glass would have come raining down on us and we could have panic and got into a serious accident. someone could have really gotten hurt or killed. our car is like brand new. only 13,300 miles as we don't drive it that much. we drove to our honda dealership, about a mile and half away and they kept the car and fixed it. they told us they knew of this problem before. this is a real safety issue and should be addressed sooner than later before someone is killed. a real defect in this design. the web showed a lot of this thing happening. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

We were driving on a empty street at 35 mph about 88 degrees and sun the shining and no pedestrians around. we heard a loud bang and looked for some indication or more noise. nothing except the sunroof had shattered with the center hole bulging out. we were lucky the shade was closed or everyone could have been covered in fine glass shards. i hope honda covers this because in my professional opinion it was not caused by an exterior impact. *tr

I was involved in a three vehicle collision. i was rear ended by the 4th vehicle which started a chain reaction and my vehicle was hit in the rear and the front and the air bag did not deploy. my vehicle was a total loss. *tr

2010 accord was parked in the emergency lane off i-40 near kingman, az when it was sideswiped by a intl tractor trail traveling at approximately 75-80 mph. airbags did not inflate, but exploded into driver. car was considered totaled by insurance company and driver has permanent neck injuries for life.

I own a 2010 honda accord v6. i have had this car for one year. the mileage is just over 18,000 miles. when i took my car in for inspection on yesterday at the honda dealership, they informed me that my rear brakes will need to be replaced within the next three months. i have owned hondas every since 1989 and premature brake wear has never occurred with any of the honda that i have owned. please tell me what i can do to get some type of resolution for this problem. i feel this is a safety issue because your brakes are the most important thing in a car. also, this car has a faulty front bumper. it is attached to the car by snaps. these snaps break and the bumper starts separating from the car. i have taken it back to the honda dealership and they sent it to their body shop but the bumper is still try to separate from the car. if the bumper comes off it could cause an accident. *tr

Trunk lid will not stay in the up /opened position. the left and right trunk springs were replaced jan/feb 2010. trunk lid continues to fall. on the head of the individual attempting to access the trunk space. *tr
