Uses excess amount of oil. have to check daily. this is not normal. have heard there is some kind of leak into the engine and a class action lawsuit. this should be a recall!!! also, metallic paint is peeling- very cheap and stereo system components not working. also makes a loud weird sound from engine when it first starts. *tr

Check engine light came on due to misfiring and fouled #3 spark plug. also, between motor oil changes at 35,761 miles and at 43,140 miles, approximately 2 quarts of oil were added due to excessive motor oil consumption.

A federal class action lawsuit claims that 2008-2010 honda accords have a systematic design defect that enables oil to enter into the engines combustion chamber. the defect causes excessive oil consumption, premature spark plug degradation and engine malfunction. in my 2009 honda accord, this has caused cylinder misfires on the following three dates, including spark plug failure, multiple spark plug replacements and engine trouble: - june 21, 2012 - april 18, 2013 - september 17, 2013 honda has settled this lawsuit but details are still unavailable. here are the details: http://www.topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/4946-class-action-settlement-reached-over-honda-accord-oil-defect

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate as the check engine and vehicle stability control warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. the technicians stated that the vehicle was out of oil and needed an update performed to the computer. the contact stated that an oil change was performed three thousand miles prior to the failure. the technicians were unable to diagnose a failure with the oil and updated the computer. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

Vehicle has been consuming oil since purchased with 9,500 miles. oil consumption has contributed to fouled spark plugs. fouled spark plugs triggered "cylinder #3 misfire" code and extremely poor performance at highway speeds. two different occasions the car experienced different cylinder misfire issues. honda dealer performed engine computer software updates on two different occasions that did not remedy the oil consumption issue. no warning lights to indicate that the engine was 3 quarts low on oil. if the consumer is not aware that the vehicle is using oil, there is potential for the engine to seize causing costly repairs or to lose power in a dangerous situation. dealer is now performing honda oil consumption test. according to honda, consuming 1 quart of oil in 1,000 miles is normal and acceptable. this burned oil is being released into the environment as evidenced by the black carbon on the tail pipes. it is hard to believe that a leading car manufacturer would deem oil consumption in a brand new vehicle as normal or acceptable. this is the first vehicle out of 12 that i have ever owned that consumed oil. even vehicles with over 200,000 miles did not consume oil. i purchased a honda so that i did not have to worry about reliability or break downs for many years. now i have to worry with checking the oil every week as to not get low or run out. same vehicle has also had premature rear brake pad wear and had to be replaced at 60,000 miles. complaint has been filed with american honda. class action lawsuits have been filed against honda over the premature rear brake pad wear and the oil consumption issues.

My 2009 honda accord ex with only 32k miles on it started to consume oil very quickly. while the % oil life remaining indicator said i have 30% life remaining, the dipstick did not register any oil on it. i'm glad that i checked, because i shudder at the possibility of a car crash due to the engine dying on the highway. when i took the car to the dealership, they handed my a printed out sheet that stated that a loss of 1 qt per 1000miles is considered normal. how is that possible??? this is a serious defect that honda does not want to admit to. *tr

I have a 2009 honda accord that has stalled twice in the last two months on the highway while i was decelerating. i brought it to the dealer both times and they were unable to find any problem. *tr

2009 honda accord. consumer states a problem with the abs and squealing fan belt *tgw the consumer stated he encountered a vehicle attempting to cross two lanes of traffic abruptly and without warning. he narrowly avoided a collision, but in the process his vehicle went in a right hand skid with the tires screeching. it became apparent that the anti-lock brakes did not function, no pulsating occurred as he had experienced in previously owned vehicles. the dealer stated the belt was squealing due to it getting wet from the rain. *jb

I have a 2009 honda accord. i began having problems with the a/c not cooling, so i took to the dealership for assessment. i was informed that a line was not working and i had a freon leak. they placed dye in the fluid to determine where the leak originated. they determined it was coming from the condenser. this part is located in the grill of the car and isn't protected in any way and they decided it had been damaged, without proof, from something i had hit, such as a rock. they then inform me that my full warranty does not cover it, and informed me it would cost $432.00 to repair. they also cannot guarantee that it will not occur again and again. the freon continues to leak and will not cool the car. it also causes a foul smell to come into the car. i do not believe consumers should be responsible for paying to replace a part that is put in a place that is vulnerable to debris or anything, without protecting it in some way. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. the contact stated that he noticed that the vehicle was abnormally down two quarts of engine oil. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the oil was replaced. the contact since noticed that the vehicle was consuming oil at excessively abnormal rates. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 11,000.

2009 honda accord coupe with a/c problem. a/c blows dangerously hot air while at a stop. the air continues to blow hot air until you start driving again. the temperatures quickly rises to unknown temperature but it feels like we are in a sweat box. may pose threat to health due to extended periods of extreme heat. the vehicle has been to a local honda dealer six times now since may 2010. many hoses have been reported to have leaks, condensor reported to be bad, compressor reported bad, clutch reported bad, low freon reported, pipes reported to be bad and seals on pipes and hoses reported leaking. it is suspected that the dealer and honda manufacture has not found a solution. both parties are in communication with one another with no results thus far. the dealer has now had the vehicle for two working weeks as of 10-22-2010 with no explanation to what the problem is. the dealer has replicated the a/c blowing hot air numerous times. overall, since may 2010, the dealer has had possession of the vehicle for approx. 30 days during the six dealer visits and repairs. online research may show extensive a/c problems with many of the honda models. further evaluation is requested as hot blowing a/c air pose a health threat especially in a warm climate such as florida's summer. *tr

This is the second time that the oil pressure light just comes on in the car, it starts bucking and is impossible to drive. i was on a 50 mph highway both times it happened. i'm lucky no one hit me. i only have 17,000 miles on my car. i have had 4 oil changes, one tow and 2 check ups on the vehicle for oil related problems. *tr

I had just bought a 2010 honda accord which i had purchase in october 20 09, 3 weeks old approximately. i get in my vehicle to turn the air condition on november 1 and found out that it only blew out hot air. i take it to the local honda dealer, they stated a pebble or foreign object got up to the condenser and punctured it which made it unable to function. the cost of repair is about 600 dollars. for honda to be number one for good value with there cars it is not apparent now. i purchased the extended warranty and it is not covered due to road debris not manufacture malfunction. this problem seems to consistent with a lot of their vehicles not only do i have make monthly payments on this car now i am paying for it to be repair when it is not even a month old. *tr

I own a 2009 honda accord ex-l. i am having problems with the engine not accelerating when needed to in emergency. i have come close to accidents twice so far on the highway since the car would not give me pick up when i needed to steer clear of trucks and cars. i have complained to two dealers, one in new jersey and the other in mass. both dealers told me that the car is fine when it isn't. at full throttle going from 1000rpm upto 6000rpm there is no pick up what so ever. it is the same as going normal speed and pick up. this is a family car and i drive with my two kids in there less then 5 yrs of age. i've had this issue since i purchased the car and it was my mistake that i did not test drive it prior to purchase. i've owned several honda accords since 96 and none of them have had this serious dangerous problem. please look into this issue. i am stuck with an expensive lemon. *tr
