Problems with 2008 Honda Accord STRUCTURE

'takata recall' i had gotten into an collision involving a deer on 10/26/2016. i was going approximately 60 mph when i struck this roughly 110 pound deer. the impact was on my front bumper on the passenger side of my car. when i took it to get repaired i had no other choice but to go with my insurance's geico express facility since all the shops were full from hail damage vehicles. in the estimate and on the repair order i received from geico and amm collision. my vehicle never had the work done to the structure untill 2 months ago. it stated that there were 3 structural components that were worked on. the right rail assembly 4 hours or repair time 60810ta5a00zz (where front and rear panels connect, heavy buckle), the left inner panel 3.6 hours repair time 04695ta0a00zz(rolled with putter panel, includes time for brackets at the top of frame), and the right front panel (crushed,cost effective to replace)60659ta5a50zz. my vehicle was in the shop for only 2 business days but some how put 41 hours worth of labor into my car. i had gotten into another hit and run on 9/20/17 where my side airbags didn't deploy. i took it back to amm collision where geico tried to total out my vehicle, falsify paperwork by taking off componants(transmission), undervalue then retain my vehicle. when i dropped my vehicle off back with amm collision i had taken pictures of patches of rust on structure componants and broken tack welds. still today i have broken welds in my car. but the major concern was geico and amm collision trying to hide the fact that they didn't do the repairs to my frame for a whole year. and when i requested the photos of the repairs and measurements from the body alignment machine from the shop, i had the police called on me and i have a felony criminal trespassing warning at amm collision for asking for paperwork that they cannot provide.

Car caught fire doors locked would not let me out.car shut off no brakes. *tr

Metallic grey paint and sealer has begun to blister and peel away on the hood and trunk. defect begins as a raised discoloration and then grows in size until sealer and paint just peel away exposing the primer. many more spots are now appearing and soon will become the same.condition is similar to a cancer and soon will envelope the painted surfaces.

I parked on my driveway, which slopes upward. i pushed open the door to the maximum extent. as i exited the car, the door closed by itself, hitting me on the shoulder and injuring the shoulder. (i am now getting medical treatment for the injury.) both the front driver and front passenger doors frequently close on their own, but this was the first time i was seriously injured. after my injury, i asked friends if their doors did this, and tested their doors. even parked on a very slight upward slope, my door has a tendency to close on its own. at that point i realized there was a problem with my car; the door was not supposed to close like this. i plan to take the car to the dealer as soon as i can to see if the door mechanism can be fixed on both sides.

Person pulled out in front of me and i struck her with front and edge of bumper. the side curtain deployed, but not the steering wheel airbag. i went forward and was hit in the chest on the steering wheel. this was on a 4 lane street leading out of town the speed was 35 mph

Waved on as clear to go by the person looking the only way traffic could be legally coming; my wife proceeded to attempt to cross an intersection. unbeknownst to her and the person that waved her in an all clear manner was that someone was speeding down the middle or turning lane in the same direction that stopped traffic was facing and hit her at an estimated speed of 50 mph. he hit her front driver's side and spun her around striking the vehicle a second time. no airbags deployed and my wife was taken in a c-collar by ambulance to a local hospital. when the eye injury was discovered to be beyond the scope of the er team at the initial hospital she was transported downtown to a trauma center to have her eye evaluated for retinal tear or other trauma. no airbags deployed. not front or side curtain not passenger nor driver's side. my wife's head hit multiple times, door window twice and steering wheel to the best of her recollection. black eye and visual disturbance that has yet to resolve five days later. culpability aside i am concerned that the airbags on our vehicle did not deploy in a crash of that magnitude. .. updated 02/19/15 *bf.......updated 12/15/15 *bf *tr updated 9/21/2017*cn

The paint on my black 08 honda accord is beginning to peel on the hood. it just started this week and is about the size of a 50 cent piece or a bit larger. i understand that honda is not interested in correcting the problem. my 1998 civic never had this problem even after 224,000 miles and 12 years. what a shame the honda corp is under an obligation to take care of the problems that they create but without a class action suit i doubt that we will see any help with this problem. *tr

I have been having problems with the brakes since it was purchased in march 2011. the brakes pads were replaced on the front and back twice since i bought the car. the rotors were turned this year. the car would not stop and constantly made noises. a week ago, i was involved in a car accident because my brakes failed. *tr

Subject: sudden unintended acceleration at about 9:25 pm, on wednesday january 23, 2013 i was parked in the north parking lot of the vienna metro station, in fairfax, virginia, awaiting arrival of my wife. i had parked in the first parking space, across from the waiting area in front of the metro station entrance. when i saw my wife emerge from the entrance of the metro station, i started my car and shifted to drive. the engine suddenly revved up and the car lunged forward, accelerating at high speed and out of control. i remember reacting by applying the brakes with all my might and engaging the hand brake without much effect.the car lunged forward about 100 feet and hit a concrete barrier which smashed the front and engine and totaled the vehicle. luckily there were no other cars or pedestrians in the vicinity otherwise there would have been more severe consequences. when i regained consciousness, i had been transported to the fairfax hospital and had suffered severe trauma to the neck, throat, larynx and mouth area and was bleeding from a cut on the chin. two days of intense examination at the hospital and several follow-up medical exams found no evidence of any physical or medical condition that could have possibly contributed to the accident. it must be noted that i did not receive any citation for the accident from the fairfax police. *tr

In decemeber 20012 i was in bad accident the was not a fault of mine. my car was struck twice on diver side. i was driving home i received a fracture wrist and two fingers. my arm was burned from from the air bag. i still have scar and i still have to wear my wrist brace from time to time. at the time i was clear that they had a recall on air bags until i placed my info in to the site. i do have pictures i just have to find them or contact my attorney who handle my accident case.

I noticed a spot on the hood that had worn away to the gray. i took it to honda and they told me it was my responsibility. fast forward to a few days ago and another spot is wearing. the paint is not good quality. my car was only 3 years old when the first incident occurred. *tr

Both rear doors on my 2008 honda accord have defective doo handles on the inside. i can only open the doors from the outside. the first one quit working around mid august 2010, and the other about three weeks after that. i am concerned that if there were a fire after an accident that someone in the bsack seat would not be able to exit the vehicle. *tr

I have a 2008 honda accord ex-l i picked up new in the fall of 2007. to date i have just over 30,000 miles. today, (4/12/10) i took my car to my local honda dealership for an oil change. i was told that my rear brakes were at 5% and repair cost would be $330.00!!! i mentioned i paid an additional $2,200.00 for an "extended warranty "on top of the $28,000.00 sticker price back in 2007. today i asked the honda advisor what does my $2,200.00 "extended warranty" cover? he said nothing mechanical. by this point i did not want to argue, but rather i paid the $38.13 for my oil change and left. also with my previous oil change maybe 3 months ago with about 29,000 miles i was also told my rear brakes were somewhere around 15% and i think the honda dealership quoted me around $300.00. i am definitely a named party in the gibbs lawsuit as of 12/17/09. i have not paid to fix my rear brakes yet. other problems i am having is my navigation freezes up, i have this rattling sound in my front drivers door, my front passenger door sounds like it is not closed all the way because i hear road noise, and twice now my wipers have continued to stay on even though i turned them off or the wipers will be "delayed" even though the wipers are off, my glove box is misaligned on the right hand side and at times when i am pulling into the garage with my foot off of the gas pedal, the car will accelerate forward a little. i am finished with this car!!!! my 2008 accord is my 3rd accord and by far the most obnoxious lemon i have ever owned. my 1986 and 2000 accords were more "honda" than my 2008 accord. i am thoroughly disgusted with honda's caring integrity. *tr

Whenever the vehicle is exposed to water, water leaks in through a sunroof drainage tube, entering the vehicle adjacent to the rear, passenger side airbag. per honda, it was caused by a leaf entering the drain, and is something i risk happening anytime this sunroof is open, operating under "normal use." as confirmed by honda, because their sunroof cassette design allows for this, there is nothing i can do to mitigate the risk, and there is no way i can be aware that it has happened until the damage is done. additionally, nowhere in any manual does it warn owners of this risk, the possible effects, and actions to take. per honda, it may occur again, but all i can do is wait and see if it happens again, in which case they'll 'fix' it the same way, and at the owner's expense. the drains were disassembled and cleaned, and it was confirmed that no damage had yet occurred to the airbags, electrical, upholstery (mold), or metal (rust/corrosion). honda is not able to provide any recommended maintenance actions (in addition to their standard recommendations, which do not address this issue), thus the problem is likely to continue to occur. *tr

I to have a 08 accord exl 4 cyl and so far i have a list of things wrong with the car. *tr 1. the famous vibration 2. terrible fuel mileage 3.lights flashing to the extent that people are high beaming me [that's fun] 4. drivers seat jerks and moves real slow 5. wind noise on r/h front of car 6. hard starting in cold weather 7. gear shift rattles 8. r/h front door rattles 9. a banging in the trunk over moderate bumps or railroad tracks [there is nothing in there] 10. squeaking and sometimes grinding brakes 11. right front shock bangs at times 12. when you push the accelerator about one third of the way the car bogs until about 3 thousand rpm's then doubles and triples in power. *tr

2008 accord coupe purchased 3 months ago, 4800 miles; whining sound that worsened over a week. power steering fluid level well below the lowest acceptable level. replaced with honda power steering fluid. no signs of leakage under car. the honda service department examined the car today and says the steering rack must be replaced. they confirmed that honda will cover all charges. not what i expected of my first honda. *tr

Headliner had to be replaced on my 2008 accord lx because raw edges were showing at weather stripping on all doors. original dealer had car all day for repair. three days later, the driver side sun visor fell on my head while driving on the parkway at high speed (knocked off my glasses). this could have caused an accident since i swerved after visor hit me. went to different dealer for repair and it took two tries before they attached visor properly. they admitted that 2008 accords now use plastic latch instead of 2 screws (civics still use screws), so it breaks easily. honda should acknowledge and change back to the metal screws. the pleasant attitude that honda is famous for is missing. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. while the driver's side door was locked, the contact leaned on the interior of the door with very little force and the door opened. the door would also become stuck on a regular basis. there were no prior warnings. the vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer and repaired for the malfunction. the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 3,000 and current mileage was 10,300.

Car idles high and eratic since a new alternator was put on due to light(in and out) flickering along with fan and radio cutting out when a/c unit is used and cooling fans kick on and off.since then car idles high, surges went fron tacking 1100 cold to 1500. went from warm idle at 600 and is now 8-900rpms.lights still do the same thing but they agree there was a voltage drop after two dealers said it was acharcteristic.after two month the cars going back in for a second seat track and a syl plate that was damaged.now along with a list of problems the front bumper is pealing in same spot on left and right side near headlights.i alreadt complained about the bumpers not fitting.dealer did idle relearn procedeure that did nothing.check fuel cap message comes on and check engine light was on.they claim after 20 years of driving and 4 hondas,i don't know how to put a gas cap on.worst car i ever had.the worst part is the attitude of the dealers and honda.i have been waiting for over two months for a rep,las time dealer snuck a note in that i refused to see the rep.i faxed them a demand letter to see the rep and another dealer was also supposed to set a meeting up.they claim he is out with a bad back(philadelphia area rep,)i am suing honda under the lemon law.i had enough.the suit was filed and my court date is in october,contact me with any questions or comments.car alo smell like a rotten egg. *tr

Car idles rough and stalls,check fuel cap message comes on.this was after they replaced alternator due to lights flickering and radio and fans going in and out.alternator did not help and now the idles is high and eratic, system that detects missing fuel cap is inop. when car comes to a stop the idle stops real hgigh and comes down as you sit at the light.the dealer says the owners maual is wrong about the way system works.i drove two identical ones and while the cars were still of poor quality,the idle was the same as before they messed with car.other issues include bad seat tracks, bad upulstry, paint on bumpers improperly finished. honda refuses to fix these issues. i am taking it under the lemon law and urge all others to do the same. *tr

Ongoing isuues with electircal system, lights flickering, accessories going in and out,seat uhpulstry and paint and seat frame. had into another dealer and they said bad paint ,bad fabric and flickering lights are chacteristics of the 2008 honda accords.service manager varified all problems and then i get a call later to pick up car because they tried to fix the seat and couldnt so they ordered another seat frame.i picked the car up next day with fraudulent paperwork,wrong dates and mialege.i was wondering why seatbelt did not feal tight.i get home and see that when they took seat out to try and fix,mechanic did not install seat belt back on the frame and he distryed the syl plate taking seat in and out and now the bolt cover is also missing.dealer picked up car from and brought it back.did not send car back with paperwork or even an apolagy.they claim they ordered replacement parts to fix what they damaged.please email me and i will let you know anything youd like.honda was no help. fourth time honda owner and last! hondas quality and attitude is so poor, i am going back to american cars. *tr

My 2008 honda accord ex coupe is a nightmare. trying to use the defroster while warming up car,blower motor kept losing power. lights in and out of car are still flickering when you have the lights on and cooling fan comes on. honda says all hondas do it. this is my fourth and this is the only one with this electrical issue. honda is rude , and doesn't care. besides pealing paint, bad drivers upholstry,the passenger seat will not stay still and hass a bead creaking sound. my selling dealer that told me not to come backs service manager told me i weigh too much. i am 245 lbs now. when we had our 04 and 06 i was 300 and it was fine. when you accelerate and decelerations seat moves. i have a spinal cord injury and today this caused it to hurt even more. if anyone would like to email me about what we should do with our expensive nightmares. we should all get a rally of our junkers together and block honda headquarters and we will call the news to televise it. *tr

Headlights, taillights, interior lights, radio fan motor all fade in and out when cooling fan comes on. this was in the shop for this today along with pealing paint, bad seat track, bad upholstery and damage that sloane honda did to my car in philadelphia, pa. someone is going to get killed in these new 08 accords. honda doesn't care. murry cohen service manager at sloane threw me out of the service department,threatened to call the police and refused to give paperwork showing the car was there, but i have the rental agreement they signed for the day. they say all hondas lights go in and out,this is my 4th and this is the only one that does it. honda customer service is no help. don't waste your breath calling. my email is if you have similar problems. i will complain to this site every day and you all should too. 24590 + tax and tags down the drain. i am getting a lemon lawyer and hope you all do to. *tr

Cars lights dim and blink everytime the cooling fan kicks on and off,this includes headlights,brake lights,all interior lights,a/c fan dims,radio gets softer. this is dangerous to drive at night. people think you are flashing them and jamming on my brakes. i also have problems with upholstry,side air bags,right seat track, out of line bumper and pealing paint. honda has to do something with my 2008 honda accord ex coupe before someone gets killed. please someone help me. *tr

The trunk lid since new will barely stay up. it has come down on our heads multiple times. at some point someone could be seriously injured. we reported this problem to the dealer who told us honda was looking into it but there was no fix available. i should have reported this long ago. *tr
