Was driving on main road of subdivision at approximately 30 mph the car suddenly lost a lot of power. would not accelerate past 20 mph even when pressing on accelerator. accelerator pedal sensor stopped working.
Check engine light came on, car acts like it has no power on take off, shifting hard, once up to maybe 40 mph car begins jerking and the a/c and heat stopped working correctly at almost the same time within a day or two. i can turn the air on and it will blow for maybe 20 seconds then just completely stop blowing which being it all happened at practically the same time is fishy to me. the car only has 156k miles and i can't afford to continue making payment and pay a couple thousand to get it fixed. this is crazy i thought honda was supposed to be a great car.
I had to replace rear suspension within first year & honda dealer told me is very common; bad suspension on 07 hondas, but once replaced will last forever-so why not a factory defect!? then at 3 years something in front suspension, same story. now the vtc actuator needs replacement-rumbling noise at startup for less than a minute, which i'm finding out is the case with a lot of hondas now, old & brand new. old hondas used to last; used to be excellent & all i've driven past 25 years. now the honda brand is unreliable - loyal honda owners like me, after 25 years driving only honda, are switching brands. honda is not the reliable car it once was. i will never buy honda again because of major problems i had on my 07 right from the start (i bought my 07 honda brand new in 08) & had problems i never saw before in the past even with 15+-year old hondas.
My son and his friend were both wearing their seatbelts and they ran the light on yellow since it was not safe to stop because of the speed he was going. which anything above 35 makes it unsafe. and of course the person took off being careless herself. and of course an accident occurred, but the honda airbags did not deployed and the seatbelts became loose so both my son & his friend had to brace themselves from the impact of the accident. because the seatbelts became loose and now they don't work at all and the airbag light is on. as if the airbags were suppose to deployed and never did. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda accord. while driving 30 mph, the contact noticed that the check engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact assumed the cause of the failure was possibly the fuel cap, which was purchased at the dealer (russell & smith honda, 2900 s loop w, houston, tx 77054). the contact had an independent technician replace the fuel cap, but the engine indicator was still illuminated. the contact drove the vehicle to a different dealer (gillman honda, 10595 w sam houston pkwy s, houston, tx 77099) where the technician informed the contact that the cause of the failure was the catalytic converter. the contact stated that the catalytic converter was replaced in 2014. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. there were no recalls associated with the vehicle. the failure mileage was 142,136.
For the second time in less than 2 years a spark plug blew into the engine while attempting to drive, we were going no more than 50mph when the check engine light came on and the car completely just shut down. the vehicle would not cut on . have taken it to a nearby honda dealership and have been informed that the spark plug flew out of place and the engine will need to be replaced. unfortunately this is the second incident where this has happened. last year in 2016 the exact same thing happened.
A weak power steering pressure hose leak is a fire hazard & may have a recall...per mechanic on 7/26/16 car has 101,000 miles. i just bought car 6/16 & took in for oil change. i am leery of driving car very far so checking for recall before investing any further.

I was leaving home on july 7th and the engine light came on just after i pulled out. engine light is on and stays on. testing by kia service center done on july 13th says the torque converter is going out and repairs will cost over $2,000 and will stop moving when it goes out. there is no way to estimate how long before it breaks down. the vehicle has less than 60,000 miles on it and has been well cared for and maintained. i bought this car about 2 months ago then the light came on. research shows the same issue with the 2003 - 2004 honda accord that occurs before 60,000 miles. i believe this a defect in my vehicle also.
Spark plug in cylinder #4 was blown out while going freeway speeds, destroying the ignition coil and engine cover and denting the hood. the ejected spark plug landed in the front bumper /passenger fender igniting a fire!
unexpected acceleration with engine stuck at full throttle.. conditions at the time: snow on road; large snow banks at sides of road.. i had backed out of my driveway in order to turn my car around so as to point front-out.i then started to back down the driveway.the car got stuck against a pile of snow part way into the driveway (we just had a series of large snowstorms, but the night was clear).i placed the transmission in "'drive"' and attempted to exit the driveway.a wheel stated to spin (i believe it was the right front drivewheel), so i gunned the engine.the car got free, heading toward the snow bank on the side of the road opposite the driveway.i took my foot off the gas and onto the brake, applying force on the brake.the engine remained in full throttle despite my having moved my foot off the gas and onto the brake and my applying force to the brake..the car had propelled itself into the snow bank on the opposite side of the road.the engine remained in full throttle. i could feel the pulsation of the abs system on the brake pedal under my foot as i continued to try to brake.i finally turned off the ignition. the engine stopped. i placed the transmission into "park".i then turned the ignition back on and started the engine with my foot still on the brake, and immediately the engine was again in full throttle, although in "park"' -- so there was no movement of the vehicle.i turned off the ignition again.i turned the ignition back on. this time the idle was normal..i was able to back the car back into the driveway. *tr

2007 honda accord ex v6 coupe. first failure incident came at around 88,000 miles on the car. check engine light came on and said it was due to an oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1. replaced the oxygen sensor and the code disappeared. at about 96,000 miles the same error code came on. did some research and found that this was common amongst this model accord and engine v6. after about 5,000 miles of driving on this code with a new oxygen sensor, the cel(check engine light) flashed. i was driving on the highway in about 70 degree weather and traveling at 65 mph. after pulling over to check the car, the spark plug and coil pack had blown completely out of cylinder number 5..(another common issue for 2007 honda accord v6). have not taken it to the dealer for repair costs, but the entire engine will now have to be replaced. there needs to be a recall out for this as it will not cause me to replace the entire engine. i will be calling honda as well to see what they will be doing about this problem. *tr
Check engine light went on and off a few times, took it to autocheck and found a code. took it to dealer, they could not locate the code and claimed there is no issue they can find, come back when it happens again. few weeks later, the check engine light came again in the evening, and now with other problems, the whole electric system including lights, radio etc started dancing on and off, abs light came on and off. happened for a few minutes and then everything went smooth. i took the car back to dealership and they claim the code p0685 was found and there was a software update for the pcm and they applied that update. i asked why was there no intimation about it and the response was that it was not considered as one of the critical updates. with the experience i had, the way things were happening in that 2-3 minutes of electric system dance, anything could have gone wrong with the car. there should be a recall notice sent for this update.
I was passing a car on the expressway doing 75 mph and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the engine destroying it. this happened with only 47000 miles on the 3.0 vtec v6 motor. the first motor blew the exact same way. the previous year i was stuck in a snow bank so i was putting it into drive then reverse to rock the car out of the snow bank and the engine sent an errant signal to the spark plug causing it to grenade . this sent pieces into the motor destroying it. honda replaced the first motor because it was still under factory warranty but wouldn't replace the second motor because it wasn't under factory warranty even though it happened with less than 50,000 miles on the motor. i was forced to purchase a used car so i could get to work and the honda dealership wouldn't give me anything for trade-in from their piece of junk accord. *tr

I was driving & notice my car was driving a little bit sluggish & kept on getting worse, so i took it in to the dealer they had my car for a week & told me that both cat. converters had to be replaced, the cause: tensioner leaking & mounts broken, so i paid for work, got my car back but it seemed like they didn??t even touch my car because it was driving the same way it was the day i took it to be fixed, i had call the dealer told them & they told me to continue driving & it should go back to normal again, it wasn??t even a week later & not only was car losing power while driving, i heard a loud pop noise come from the engine & then car came to a complete stop, also car was leaking oil at the bottom all over the road, had to find away to get it off the road (traffic was busy), when i got it back to the dealer again, they were giving me the run around they had my car for 4 months, & didn??t even offer me no means of transportation, i had to pay for the work they done $2000 (powertrain warranty should of covered) the day i got it back the engine was making a ticking noise, so i call them to see if that??s normal, they told me, yes, that it just needed to be broken in, they had replace short block and the some internal parts, since they made think i could trust they're work they did & gave me their word & didn??t want to be months with out a car i continue to drive it, constantly having to change oil or add more, now its been a little bit over a year & the ticking noise never went away & things kept getting worse, so i finally took it back in to dealer they have had it for 2weeks now and haven't done anything to my car, not even the recall that was on my car, they called me yesterday telling me that i would have to pay for a whole new engine due to internal damage, due to the work that they had done in the past. *tr
My car has had engine issues for the last almost 8 years. burning oil at a massive rate. it also stalls with this sudden jerk and rocking sensation when accelerating/shifting at a low speed. i bought my car brand new but first began experiencing this rocking sensation in november of 2008 while driving down a slight incline at a low speed on a street. this rocking stopped on its own for quite a while. then in april 2011 it began again where at honda's diagnosis and recommendation they took my engine apart and 'fixed' the problem when it later arose in 2014. this issue has now escalated to the engine stalling when i drive over 80 miles an hour - acceleration suspends until the speed drops back down to 70 miles an hour. it's so unsafe but became predictable and normal. in all of this my check engine light will not go off hence causing the car to fail emissions tests. i have brought this up to my local honda dealership along with excessive burning of oil. i have performed the oil consumption test for the dealership to say that my consumption - though clearly excessive and very dark - is technically within honda's parameters. every time i re-visited either issue i was given the run around and now deemed by many mechanics even at honda to not put anymore money into the car. the diagnoses went from o2 sensor to cam chain to now the rocker arm. in 2014 when honda supossesly 'fixed' the cam chain i was explicitly told that this was the reason my car jerked and rocked but clearly that was a fabrication. my car presently burns at minimum 2 quarts of oil a week. upon recent research i saw a recall on 2007 honda accor engines for stalling but my vin number was not included.
Car was idling waiting as a gas station, foot on brakes, in drive gear, all of a sudden, the engine started to rev up (like car in neutral and pressing the gas pedal), i shifted to park and pulled the emergency brakes. car stopped revving. car was returned to the dealer the next day. they could not duplicate the problem. again, on or about september 23, 2008, it happened again while waiting on line at the gas station. did the same as before, shifted to park, pulled emergency brakes on. revving stopped. returned car to dealer, explained problem again. they road tested car, checked idle control, and transmission pcm for failure codes and retrieved none. the same problem happen again approximately 3 more time after that and the problem had not recurred since. did anyone encountered a similar problem with their honda accord? if i did not shift to park, would the car accelerate even if my foot was still depressing the brake pedal? i read on one of the honda forums that someone said it was a software problem? appreciate any feedback. *tr
