Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2005 Honda Accord

Repeatedly stopping. with no warnings. when driving, engine quit in january, would not move or even turn over. the manual transmission would not move. door locks, electric as well as with the key could not be used at. called aaa to be able to open the door. jumped the battery to move the car. still frozen in gear. had it towed to two dealers. said the clutch was destroyed. prior to this issue, not one problem. i had to pay 250.00 for diagnostics to tell me clutch was burned out. i have driven over 34 years and always had a manual transmission. after clutch was replaced, it did it again and again. at this point, we bought a new battery. once again, i called aaa and they jumped the battery. i am requesting an investigation into the constant electrical freeze. i would like a refund of the diagnostic. charges and repairs. clutch was installed for 1500.00. battery was120.00. please call [xxx]. as soon as possible. alt number is [xxx]. power train problem information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr **jb

Transmission failure!! i knew these early 2000s to 2005s had transmission issues in the accords and civics, but i had a 2005 earlier and when someone hit me it had over 168.000 miles on it. (it was a california car with extra smog components) no transmissions issues!! i replaced it with another 2005 accord 4cyl at 79.441 miles in feb of 2018. the car had been very well maintained by a honda dealership in ga. nothing was missed. i also had transmission serviced and a lot of other things done by a certified honda mechanic before i even put the plate on it back in nc. on 6/12/19( 93500 on car) i was in a rollover wreck in my 2002 tundra.(great truck) and really needed my car. on 6/14/19 i go to see my tundra in the junk yard and my car just starts revving up but stops moving. i pulled over and stopped then tried to put car back into gear and was able to get it into 2nd gear and limp to a friends house. i was heartbroken!! to lose both in 2 days was insane! i took it to friendlys transmission in high point nc and they put in a rebuilt transmission very quickly!!!! i hope this one holds because it is a beautiful little car with a great engine and i would like to drive it a long time. i thought about trying to deal with honda but i was in pain and needed my car...it is shameful that a low mileage car that has been well taken care of should need a new transmission so soon!!! it would be wonderful if 11v395000, recall r89, 8/27 2011 would somehow apply to my car!!!

I was driving down through someones yard and its like my vehicle made a grinding sound and a malfunction light illuminated an exclamation point in a triangle. i almost got stuck and i was horrified at the sound. later on i started noticing it was harder to control thw vehicle at higher speeds on the road. especially after it rained i would leave my yard and would almost be trapped in my yard. very eerie grinding sound with 3 malfunction lights on: abs, traction control, and brake lamp illuminated.

While driving, part of the bearing became lodged in the park prawl (the metal piece that engages park), causing the car to roll away after it's shifted into park.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. while driving 70 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and code p0973 was displayed. the contact stated that the vehicle would only drive in second gear when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to call nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

Honda automatic transmission failed in 2015; contacted honda corp no recalls although there is a recall r89 for exact problem but was told my car is not a part of recall. had transmission repaired and one year later after driving 10,000 local miles transmission having exact same problem. contacted honda and they state due to age year and warranty factors they could not assist. car has been serviced and diagnosed by several honda's dealers. took car for oil change on 5/18; on 5/21 while driving the car after 2-3 minutes it would start to be sluggish and not respond to someone pushing the gas pedal. this was while driving in a 35 mile per hour area two lane street. at that point i pulled over to the side of a city street allowed the car to cool down and took back to dealer. dealer suggested faulty transmission with broken internal shift parts.

Vehicle jerks changing into gears revs high when driving and jerks will all of a sudden cease to drive turning off vehicle and back on seems to clear condition but comes back

Takata recall -i am the owner of a beautiful 2005 honda accord ex. i am the original and only owner of my car. my car has this issue where it is burning excessive oil and engine siezes. (i mean really bad). i would get an oil change today and car would be out of oil within 2weeks...i've spent over 3000k dollars on trying to figure what the problem was and no mechanic could figure it out. i finally went to a special mechanic who finally did some research and figured out that this was a known issue by honda and have not yet done a recall for the issue. apparently based on articles from the honda/braman and takata sites (www.carcomplaints.com/honda/accord that after 80k miles the engine burns excessive oil in the engine. my car takes "full synthetic" so its gotten to be really expensive to own this car. to mention, the car has no leaks, all parts are in working order. i called and filed a complaint with the website since january 2017 and have not heard anything back. i would like to get this issue fixed and put my car back to normal. this issue is affecting other areas of the car like the radio, the back lights. i have to check and put oil in the car every couple days so that my engine doesnt seize.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph and shifting into second gear/accelerating, the vehicle would aggressively shake before beginning to accelerate. the failure recurred as well as the vehicle's engine revved and eventually stalled. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact notified the manufacturer who referenced nhtsa campaign number: 11v395000 (power train) however, the vin was not included in the recall. the approximate failure mileage was 80,200. updated 01/11/2017*ct *tr

I have a honda accord v6 2005 model car and maintenance done as per manuals. i am now getting jerks while accelerating or after starting and putting car in reverse gear.the check engine light turned on now. i did a code scan and getting code p0741. this is an issue with transmission power. i did some google and found that honda had this manufacturing defect in this model and lot of car were recalled for this reason. i found nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000 addressing similar problem and as of 23rd september 2014, 1.5 million (1512107) vehicles has been recalled for similar issue.the honda recall number is r89 and the recall was placed on august 27th 2011, for honda accords 2005-2010 for the transmission. this issue is transmission power is not working as expected and it jerks while changing gear or speed. this is dangerous from driving safety point of view. i need help by the nhtsa as i strongly feel that my case is genuine and with reference to nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000, my vehicle should be considered for this recall by american honda. on that note, i do hope to receive a resolution response , in a timely manner, from your executive team or someone else that is in a position to do the right thing.

Owner:i hit a dip with this accord 3.0 with vtec engine was driving down street when car made funny noise and the steering got hard to turn. pulled over and found power steering was leaking. drove it to shop ordered hose then dropped hose with fluid at repair shop. technician: power steering hose broke hard and old leaking fluid everywhere causing cerpintine belt come off. the hardened power steering hose broke due to fact that breaking of 2 passenger side motor mount to bracket bolts in bracket causing engine to raise during acceleration and pulling on hoses. car drove in ok. after replacing bracket and hose noticed water leaking from behind timing belt and removed top cover. found water pump leaking weep hole and found idler pulley and bolt came loose and fell off.(idler pulley has a special bolt with washer end that if dont wiggle the pully while tightening can tighten pulley tweaked and not complete also use loctite) also found the harmonic balancer bolt to be over torqued making it near impossible to remove without special octagon holding tool. of course customer doesn't understand how so many things are wrong when all he saw was broken power steering hose.(which when fluid leaks can also catch car on fire) now we suggested replacement of water pump and timing kit but customer wants vehicle immediately and feels we created these other problems on purpose which left me no choice but to do labor for free just to prove im not! the lift of engine and fluid leak caused several bushings to come apart. he must have hit dip hard.

I have recently began to experience issues with my honda where it suddenly stalls while moving. i have also noticed some clicking noises and surges as if the transmission is having issues. i see that there was a recall in 2011 for honda to replace the tcm (transmission control module); however, my vehicle was not part of this recall and i believe i am now experience the very problems that the recall fix was to resolve. i am seeing the very complaint on your site from others who also have honda accords for the same year others. my vehicle has been regularly serviced and there have never been any indication of transmission issues.

The transmission failed at approximately 70,000 miles while driving up a hill. the engine began revving, and the vehicle lost all acceleration. shortly thereafter, i applied the brakes, put on the hazard lights, put the car in park, and turned the car off. i then restarted the car, shifted into drive, and attempted to accelerate, but the vehicle began rolling backwards toward traffic lined up behind me. i then reapplied the brake, put the car in park, and again shut the car off. due to construction in the area, there was no where to pull the car over to, so i was stranded blocking traffic.

Was driving on highway in traffic and car would not shift gears, car was jumping forward and would not accelerate as traffic sped up. was able to get car off the highway, but got stuck at a red light, when attempting to accelerate forward, car went backwards.

Driving on the freeway and entered caldecott tunnel in berkeley, ca. all of a sudden the car would not go and the rpms shot up to 6500. i had nowhere to go as i was in a 2 lane tunnel. i put my flashers on and slowed to a stop. this freeway has a very high volume of traffic and i was lucky not to get creamed by someone. there was no warning light that came on. there was a burning smell. i was "pulled" out of the tunnel by a very nice man who stopped to help me. had the car towed to my mechanic who tells me that the transmission is done. this is a 2005 honda accord v6 and after researching, i see that there are numerous complaints about the transmission. i plan on calling honda to see what they plan to do. i could have been seriously injured. *tr

Drove the car to work slowed down behind another car to let them turn and the car stalled like as if the car was in neutral, i pulled over because it never happened before turned the car off and then restarted the engine and drove about 10 more minutes to work. later on that day after my shift was over took it to a mechanic who scanned for a code which read p0741 in his words meant transmission issues. *tr

This incident is concerning my 2005 honda accord ex v6, vin (given above) . i am the first owner and car has 85000 miles on it. on 21st september 2014 automatic transmission failed without any warning while i was driving on freeway today. check engine light never turned on .the car just stopped on a crowded interstate, which was very frightening. this vehicle has been properly maintained and i've never missed an oil change, timing belt, etc. i've never had any major problems with this car, no leaks, no engine issues and this leads me to believe there is some sort of defect with this automobile which needs to be recalled. my situation with the transmission is obviously not an isolated incident and honda needs to step-up to the plate. the mechanic said that he has seen this same problem time and time again with honda's especially with 2005 accord v6 transmission failures. on further research on nhtsa website, i found nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000 addressing similar problem and as of 23rd september 2014, 1.5 million (1512107) vehicles has been recalled for similar issue.the honda recall number is r89 and the recall was placed on august 27th 2011, for honda accords 2005-2010 for the transmission. i took my car to, grossinger honda, my local honda dealer. the diagnosis was that the transmission had completely failed although fluid levels were normal. dtc codes were p0741, p0746, and p0777. honda opened a case and gave me a case no:n012014-09-22-02450. more than 1.5 million vehicles are affected from this recall and they tell me my car isn't one? i strongly feel that my case is genuine and with reference to nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000, my vehicle should be considered for this recall by american honda . *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that while the driver started the vehicle, it was unable to shift out of gear. in addition, the engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 203,563.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated and when she depressed the accelerator pedal the vehicle would not accelerate . the vehicle was towed to the contact's home. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 55,500. updated 06/10/14 ma the consumer stated she paid for a re-built transmission and torque converter. updated 07/23/14

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning and would not accelerate over 30 mph. the vehicle was towed to a local mechanic, who performed a diagnostic and located the failure at the torque converter. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 103,000. *tr

Driving to work in somewhat heavy traffic when i approached a slight incline. the engine began racing to redline and the transmission would not engage to move the car forward again. i was very nearly rear ended by the vehicle behind me as the car suddenly slowed down. i put on my hazards and pulled to the shoulder, and suddenly the gear engaged again and i was on my way. while slowing down further on in my drive, the transmission began pulsing and surging as i slowed nearly causing me to lose control. i backed off from the traffic and was almost to work when i approached another hill. this time the engine again raced to redline and i pulled to shoulder and shut the car down. i waited a minute and restarted and the vehicle appeared to be fine again. i drove the half mile to work and immediately setup an appointment to have the transmission looked at. i was able to make it to the dealer by keeping the drive select in 3rd and they have diagnosed the vehicle with a failed 2nd gear leaving me to foot the bill for a remanufactured transmission at over $5000. needless to say, my wife and i as the original owners of this vehicle are very disappointed and hopeful that honda will help to cover part of the repair. i am concerned that my wife and children could have been in the car when it lost power and could have been seriously injured in an accident and the vehicle is only 8 years old with 75k on the odometer. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that the engine rpms increased abnormally as a burning odor and smoke was emitted from under the hood. additionally, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, who advised the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 70,000.

While driving on the interstate my car lost power from the engine. the rpm's went higher but there was no power even though the engine continued to rev. there were no warning indicators on the dash to try to understand what was happening except for the rpm gauge. the transmission had completely disengaged just as if it were in neutral even though it was in 'drive'. the scariest part was that i was stuck in heavy traffic driving at highway speeds at night during a rainstorm and there were no visible warnings to observe other than the tachometer and sound of the engine revving up. i understand now that the transmission has started to fail prematurely due to overheated transmission fluid and needs to be replaced at a high cost. *tr

Automatic transmission v6 accord. cruising at highway speed of 65,moderate traffic, around 4:35p, level ground, ambient temp of about 71, approx 2000 revs. transmission suddenly shifted down (no kick down), engine raced at 6500 revs, caused car to rapidly decelerate. luckily there was a gap in traffic behind me, otherwise could have shunted. took foot off gas, looking for gap to pull over to the shoulder when car suddenly shifted back into a gear normal for speed - revs dropped to about 2500 to 3000, speed around 45. gently pressed gas and increased speed back up to normal highway speed. a whine is coming the engine bay - more noticeable at lower speeds. transmission subsequently not shifting smoothly. *tr

Car details: - 05 accord se coupe with ~65k miles (automatic transmission, 4 cylinder) recently, i have noticed that the car will not accelerate even when i keep pushing the gas pedal. typically happens at around 50 to 60 mph marker (the mph needle will just stall at one location and not move). i have to tap the brake lightly a couple of times or let the car coast down without giving it any gas (it kind of releases whatever is holding the car from accelerating and releases the mph needle). i then accelerate the car again and it will go higher than 60 mph. keeps happening often (not every time though). my gas mileage is lower which confirms that something is happening. this is a serious safety issue on highways. i am not sure if this is related to all the transmission failure issues that honda accords continue to see on models manufactured in the mid 2000s. *tr

At only 93,000 miles, my transmission is shot. just one year after my extended warranty runs out based on time, not mileage. honda's reputation of reliability makes people not even expect to buy a warranty. their reputation is a lie. any american car would have a 100,000 mile warranty the transmission. i will definitely never buy a honda again. the financial burden of replacing a transmission so early on is not easy and this car should be recalled for it's common defect, as i am learning online. *tr

Brought vehicle in for routine maintenance timing belt replacement. honda technician notified me that the timing belt tensioner was leaking and could leak onto the belt causing it to slip off of tensioner.. he further stated that this type of leak goes un-noticed until timing belt is replaced. loss of power can occur if timing belt is not secured. *tr

manufacturer: honda (american honda motor co.) summary: initially, while waiting on a red light, while the car was going into a forward gear, the car surged forward. then tried to apply breaks but car seemed to want to move forward. applied brakes and moved gear to neutral. there was a loud noise coming from underneath the car. once stopped, put car on park and turned off engine. before turning car off the engine just revved and surged forward causing me to almost rear end the car in front. end result was the transmission would not shift on any gear (drive, reverse, low gear). the car was rendered fully un-drivable as it seems the transmission has completely failed. honda was contacted and informed. they stated there were no recalls for honda accord 2005 (the nhtsa website indicates campaign 11v395000) recalls but honda stated they would not cover the repair even though it is a known frequent failure. how should i pursue this issue going forward? ps. the car was tolled back to my driveway and its still sitting there. *tr

Driving on highway 101 in california the powertrain (automatic transmission) on our 6 cylinder honda failed at highway speeds. when we got to an exit, the car could not power up an exit ramp. the car even rolled backwards even when the transmission was put in park. prior to this problem we had no advance warning or inkling of any transmission difficulties. during this incident the warning light on the dash did not turn on. once we got to a repair facility we were told that the transmission had failed completely and the cost of a remanufactured unit would be about $4,400. after this incident we read up on honda's and discovered that such complete, no-warning failures are rather common in these honda accords. our extended warranty ran out six months ago. given the high number of these problems and the high cost involved, we believe that honda should repair or replace these units as losing power in a car on an interstate highway is very dangerous. *tr

My 05 honda accord v6 auto transmission gave up on me only at 65000 miles. honda does not want to pay for it because the warranty has expired and they quoted me over $4400 to replace it with a new one but the only has 65k miles on it. i'll never buy another honda for this reason. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technician stated the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

I was driving home from work in stop-and-go traffic. when i went to accelerate i noticed that the vehicle jerked, as if it had a problem shifting. i didn't think much of it at the time until it did it again after i came to another stop and accelerated once traffic started moving again. this time i pulled over to the side of the road. i then noticed the malfunction indicator lamp ("check engine light") came on the dash. the traction control (tcs) indicator also came on. i turned the car off, waited a few seconds, then started it again, hoping that would clear any faults. the indicators were still lit and when i went to put the vehicle in drive the drive "d" indicator was flashing green (it's normally solid green). i drove it a short distance to a nearby parking lot where i called a tow truck to come tow the vehicle to my local honda dealership. upon driving it to the parking lot i noticed that it wouldn't shift out of first gear. top speed i got was about 40 mph. also the engine was revving slightly. i then knew that the problem was more serious and i feared for the worse. while waiting for the tow truck i checked the error codes that was causing the check engine light to come on. it came back with three codes having to do with the shift solenoid valve a and clutch pressure control solenoid valve a being stuck on. the dealer called me back the next day and explained that they replaced the shift and clutch pressure control solenoids, were going to give it a test drive to see if that corrected the fault, and would call me back afterwards. the next call i received was devastating. i was told that it didn't fix the issue and that i would need a new transmission! i was completely shocked. the car just hit the 50,000 mile mark! i have babied this car since i first bought it new. i don't drive it rough and i follow the maintenance schedule to a t. how could this possibly be? *tr

My wife and i and 5 year old daughter was driving on ih35 on the left lane at 70mph when the transmission suddenly failed. my wife was driving and said she was loosing power and had presence of mind to pulled over to the right side. all the cars were going really fast. thank god we were able to pull over and did not get hit from behind. after stopping the car would not engage to drive and revved up only so had it towed to a honda facility. there we were told it was total transmission failure. they charged me 4500 dollars.i did not have a choice as we were travelling and 250 miles away from home and did not have a choice as the other places we called said they could not even take a look for a few days till monday as it was a friday afternoon. i did do my research and called a few transmission places and was told it was a 2500 dollar job. double insult transmission fails at 95k and charged 2000 more. last time i buy a honda. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. while driving approximately 45 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to shake with vibration. the vehicle was inspected by two different independent mechanics who informed the contact that the secondary shaft bearing would need to be replaced. the vehicle had not been repaired. there was a recall related to the defect associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v395000 (power train: automatic transmission: control module tcm, pcm); however the consequence of the recall caused damage to the secondary shaft bearing. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the contact expressed that the secondary shaft bearing should be included in the recall defect. the approximate failure mileage was 127,000.

Automatic transmission failures at 87,900 miles. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord ex. the contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was restarted and driven to a local mechanic. the mechanic stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v395000 (power train: automatic transmission: control module (tcm, pcm)). they offered no other assistance. the failure mileage was 64,600.

Driving down the street when the malfunction indicator light went on. within 5 seconds the engine stalled. was able to pull to side of road and stop the vehicle. turned off the ignition and was able to start the vehicle. this matches the scenario as outlined in recall #59558. contacted local dealer and honda america and was advised that my vehicle is not part of the recall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. while driving approximately 35 mph, the transmission began to slip gears with hesitation. the failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis and was repaired under a recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v395000 (power train: automatic transmission: control module; tcm, pcm); however the remedy was insufficient and the failure recurred. the vehicle had not been further repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

At first, when putting the car into gear, there would be a delay before the vehicle actually accepted that gear--anywhere from 6-10 seconds, along with a grinding noise when i would go from drive to park. i immeduately called my dealer and took it over there and explained to them what had been happening. given the mileage of my car, the manager of the service dept took the car out for a drive on the highway (with me), and tried to see if the gears were in fact slipping and i would need tranny work. after the test drive, it was decided that they would drain all the transmission fluid and replace it with new. this worked well for about 2 weeks, and then we had a big cold snap here in colorado. after that, it all went south. my car would no longer shift into 2nd or 3rd without a lot of noise. called the dealer, and by the time we got it there, the car was barely moving at 40mph on a major highway. when i purchased this car three years ago, the odometer read 42,000 miles. today it reads 67,000. really? i have transmission failure at 67,000?????? thank goodness i have a highly competent service manager at the dealership who went to bat for me and called honda directly. i received a "goodwill" repair, but am still forking over $1568 for a new transmission. obviously, honda has not fixed their transmission problems. i believe another recall needs to be issued sooner, rather than later. *tr

2005 honda accord. consumer writes in regards to automatic transmission control and requests reimbursement for repairs *tgw

Transmission fluid may be leaking, engine (or transmission) stutters after go maybe a block. *tr

Car was running fine. no problems. all of a sudden the airbag light came on. i stopped the car and checked the seat on the passenger side and seat belts trying to figure out why it was on. i got back into the car and continued home. when slowing to turn into driveway a loud banging noise occurred. the car was put in park and immediately started rolling backwards. this could have been a hazard if a car had been passing by or if this had happened in busy traffic. i could have rolled back and hurt someone, hurt myself or rolled back into oncoming traffic. also if someone had been walking behind the car and gotten ran over and killed. anyway it was later towed to a dealer and diagnostics ran. the dealer informed me that i needed a new transmission. that is not right. my car was like new with a little over 68 thousand miles on it. i still owe on it and purchased it brand new. honda should be responsible for this. since this has happened to me and i have begun to research this i found a ton of recalls for this same problem, yet i am told my car is a 6 cylinder and is not under recall. please help. i was told it would cost me 4400 plus $ to replace the transmission. honda should be responsible for this cost. *tr

The transmission is slipping between 1st and 2nd gear as well as 3rd and 4th gear. we took it into a shop and was told the transmission needs to be rebuilt. this car was purchased brand new and has around 80,000 miles. the guy at the transmission shop stated this was a known issue with honda but they were not willing to fix it. he stated the plastic caps on the torque converter were breaking and should have never been used at all. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that the gear shifter knob fractured from the vehicle and the contact was unable to shift into any gear. in addition, the rubber seal on the driver side window was loosened when the window was being opened. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. the vehicle was then taken to a local mechanic who repaired the knob and the window. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 46,329.

2005 honda accord. consumer writes in regards to recall notice related to automatic transmission control module software *tgw the consumer stated when the dealer returned the vehicle, he asked what had been done pertaining to the recall and the dealer stated they reprogrammed the transmission control module, but they didn't inspect the bearing. the consumer believed the bearing should have been inspected as part of the recall, to determine if any damage had occurred as the bearing was a significant part and stated as so in the recall letter. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v395000 (power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). the vehicle stalled within two days of having the repairs performed while driving 50 mph. the dealer was notified and advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for examination. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were approximately 100,000.
