We have classified the 3 complaints from 2005 Honda Accord about VISIBILITY into the following categories.
I purchased my 2005 honda accord lx with the knowledge of the back right window not working. within 6 months of owning this car, the passenger front window and both of the back windows just stopped working at all. i have tried using the front main switch as well as the individual switches to unroll them and all that happens is a click every time i try to unroll each one. my passenger window is stuck half way down with no way to roll it up. the only window that works is the drivers side front window now. i have confirmed that the child safety lock is unlocked each time i try to unroll each of them. is there a recall on this kind of default? *tr
I have an 05 honda accord coupe. neither window will roll down, had the relay switch replaced but 6 months later back to the same problem. radio would go on and off, even when car was off. now the radio will not come on at all unless i unplug/plug the battery, then the result is only temporary. now the cruise control button will not work. if i push it down the green indicator light comes on but the button will not stay engaged. i've seen so many of the same complaints i was sure there was a recall i missed but there isn't??!! *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. the contact stated that the gear shifter knob fractured from the vehicle and the contact was unable to shift into any gear. in addition, the rubber seal on the driver side window was loosened when the window was being opened. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. the vehicle was then taken to a local mechanic who repaired the knob and the window. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 46,329.
Honda 2005 accord ex: my power windows will not always function. window will not go down when switch is pressed. if it is down, it will not come up. neither direction works correctly. this has been happening for almost 5 months. this week the window went down while i was driving but had not pressed the switch. our honda fit 2007 just received a recall notice for this exact issue. is there also a problem with honda accord 2005?
Loss of lights on controls for heating, defrost and all other climate controls. over a period of several weeks, i had an intermittent loss of backlight to the climate controls for my car. this presents a hazard during nighttime driving as the dome lights must be switched on and it takes longer to find the appropriate control for defrost for the windshield. this is also related to the backlight on the radio, which was a known problem with honda accords for a very long time. the lights would go out, then come back on again when i went over a bump or turned the headlights on or off (indicating an electrical instead of bulb problem). the loss of function increased gradually in terms of number of outages, length and duration. the car was taken in after two near accidents due to trying to turn on the defroster while driving. despite a known problem with prior year accords in the exact same system, for which honda has issued recalls, i did have to pay for the repair. *tr
Windshield wipers quit working while driving in rain. could no longer see adequately to drive the vehicle. taking to dealer for repair. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 honda accord. while driving 55 mph, the contact heard a loud explosion. as a result, she notice a large hole in the sun roof. as of may 27, 2008, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. the current mileage was 27,000 and the failure mileage was unavailable.
1. windshield washer system does not work properly, or at all below 38 degrees. 2. this failure makes seeing out the windshield hard to impossible with splash back and deicing fluid on the roads. 3. i was told by the dealer that honda knows of the problem but has no solution. *nm
Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds and hitting bumps, the vehicle bounced. the dealer determined the vehicle performed as designed. also, to defog the windshield the heater has to be on. the dealer indicated the defogger performed as designed. the contact further stated while driving various speeds in wet weather, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was maneuvered off the road and restarted. it was driven to the dealer who could not duplicate the problem.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle had a longer braking distance. this occurred on two separate occasions. the vehicle was driven to the dealer, where the problem could not be duplicated. updated 2/12/2007 - the rear brakes had to be replaced although they had less than 5000 miles in them. the consumer feels that the rear brake are doing most of the braking which is causing the vehicle to slide rather than stop. the dealer told the consumer that they think his driving habits are the cause of the brakes wear so quickly. when rolling down the right or left front windows the consumer heard a grinding noise. the technician lubricated the window glass runs. *nm
My 2005 honda accord ex has three features that compromise my safety: 1. the right-hand corner of the sun visor, when in its fullest position (not at an angle), obscures nearly half of the rearview mirror. this has caused a number of "near accident" events. 2. the honda is designed to downshift when going downhill. not only does this diminish gas efficiency, but can cause skids in icy weather. 3. the brakes are extremely sensitive. i have spoken to two area honda service centers and a service representative at honda headquarter. the area managers say that "they're all like that; there's nothing we can do," and the honda headquarters rep says the same. she even went so far as to recommend i get the lower half of my windshield tinted to prevent sun glare! what about night driving? i can't believe that solutions to this problem cannot be found. can you help in any way? *nm
