(1) & (2) red safety restraint system (srs) light sporadically light on dash, within one month srs light consistently on. dealer discovered broken ground wire under driver's seat. the purpose of the ground wire is solely to transmit information from the seat belt to the srs. (3) dealer repaired the broken wire and charged me $112.25. my request is for a refund in the amount of $112.25 because the repair as solely a safety repair and the diagnositc fee should not have been charged. *tr

(1) enough accumulated driving hours will cause the failure, per honda service bulletin 04-027, and online information: the resistor in the audio unit over time will be heated up and fail due to a design defect, resistor" too close to the a heat sink. 2) cd/ac/fan unit display went dark. consequently, the defroster cannot be reliably set, causing a driving hazard, especially in the wet pacific nw and at night. this is a safety issue, not just the cd display. (3) no one will contact dealership. this is a complaint against the vehicle, not to the dealership.*ak
The srs (supplemental restraint system) dash light comes on and will not go off until the part is replaced. the dealership told me the airbags would not operate or would not operate properly if a wreck occurred because the part was "bad". i was provided a rental car while the part was replaced. previous research revealed a previous investigation into this problem on the 2001 honda accord. (why is the same defective part still being used?). *jb
Radio and climate control display stops working. *jb
This is the third time this has happened. while driving my 2004 honda accord ex the light denoting the driving gear has come on. the 1st time it happened i took it to crown honda dealership. they said the computer didn't record the act and couldn't find the problem. today on the way to the crown dealership the same thing happened twice. both times i stopped the car and restarted the car. on the second restart the light disappeared and drove fine. hopefully this isn't automatic transmission going bad. *jb
Radio/hvac lighting has failed two times, repaired by honda dealership. the unit is not working again. unable to see hvac/climate control/radio/clock when unit is out. i almost rear ended another vehicle trying to adjust heat (had to swerve into emergency lane and nearly landed in a ditch. honda of america refuses to replace the unit despite unsuccessful attempts to repair it. *jb
Radio and hvac controls lights are out. the radio operates but the lights are out. *jb
As i was pulling out of my parking spot at the local kmart, in my 2004 honda accord ex, i noticed another car backing out also. i applied my brake and put my car from reverse into drive to pull a little ways back into my parking space so i would not get into an accident, when suddenly and without warning (the blink of an eye) my car crashed into another vehicle. in shock, i pressed harder on the brake, but my car continued to accelerate and i could not stop it. i hit two other parked cars before the brakes finally stopped the car. thank god it stopped as my car was heading toward the kmart store. one 85-year old lady was injured while in her car. the other two cars were empty. a lot of damage to 3 vehicles plus almost $7,000 damage to my accord. after my car was repaired, i asked the honda dealership to look at my car and they could find nothing wrong. i asked to have the cruise control disconnected as i have read that may be what causes "sudden acceleration accidents" and honda refused saying if something went wrong they would be liable. this is a nightmare, just horrible, as i am being forced to drive my car and i am frightened another incident will occur. something needs to be done! *jb

2004 honda accord lx 4 cyl. automatic 4 door 4533 miles ey will not come out of the iginition. this has happened four times. each time i called the dealership to inform them of this event. i was told to bring it in, but they need to see the key not come out of the car to diagnose the problem. if it came out then bring it in the next time you have the problem. each time i was successful with key removal after about 20 minutes of play. i would be able to turn the car off and on. i would drive around, come back park, play with key, giggle key up and down, side to side, and still not be able to get my key out. i made sure that i was in park, back up go forward, and park, pull up e-brake. i risked my car being stolen because i couldn't get the key out at 11:30pm on 12/5/2004. i put my jacket over my wheel to cover it up and locked the car with my spare key. i took it into the dealership, and after 24 hours of being stuck- it came out in the service drive. honda has had 12 complaints up to date. no recall has been formatted, nor has there been a successful solution to fix this problem.*ak

I got out the driveway and made a right turn. the ignition key jump out of the ignition key hole and broke the key handle ( plastic with remote doors/trunk opening. the car stalled and stop. i put the key ( the metal part) in but the engine did not start. i tried super glue the metal and plastic back together and turn the ignition key. the engine was on normal. i took the key out, and tried to turn it with the metal part again. the car did not start. i did not realize the serious of the problem until i read the worcester telegram gazette ( saturday 8/13/05) and found the honda acura rsx has the same problem to other and it locked him three times. i may get kill if the key jump out of the ignition and stall on the highway. please alert honda about these problems: could be bad ignition lock, shift interlock mechanism, or steering column or the anti-theft. please help and investigate this serious safety device. *jb

I had purchased my 2004 honda accord ex on 7-16-04 with 145 miles on it. two days later i was attempting to accelerate and the car went dead. no power, steering or brakes. i hit the guide rails with my new car. it has about 202 miles on it. so far the dealer said this is the first time this has ever happened from other articles posted here, i see its not. also on other sites. the end result is always honda finds no problem. i am afraid to drive a car with 202 miles on it. if they choose to repair it. i hope not. *jb

I was driving on 1995 expressway at 65 mph, when the car completely died, i managed to coast it into a breakdown lane. i called the police thinking i had a computer chip problem that happened to a previous honda. finally noticed that the radio was working and there had been a key symbol on the dashboard before it went out. i was able to start the car up and then realized that the ignition key had slipped forward into the off position while i was driving. i had not touched it, nothing jarred it and i cannot repeat it by hitting or leaning on the other items on the key chain. i noticed that the key has a lot of room to jiggle in the igniition switch. checked your nhtsa to see similar problems with honda. very concerned. honda will not see the car until next week, they claimed of hearing about it in older cars but not newer. *ak
I have a 2004 ex v-6 accord coupe. i have had the vehicle in the shop numerous times. i had the car for 1 week it had 175 miles on it and the check engine light came on. all six pistons were misfiring. i have had the car in 3 times now for excessive noise on the drivers side window. the dealership fixed it once and told me that some noise is normal.. (my 76 honda civic doesn't even make as much noise as this car does) the check engine light comes on and blinks and goes off has done this numerous times. dealership resets it and says that it is ok. i have also had the car in 2 times because it won't start. dealership says to turn key to first click to let the fuel injection lines fill with fuel. it doesn't work. i am taking it back to the dealership once again tomorrow because the trunk doesn't latch correctly.. what a dissappointment this car has been and its not even a year old.. i will never buy another honda again. the quality has gone severely down hill.*ak
I was driving my 2004 honda accord ex-l navi sedan and went to get gas. as i finished pumping the gas and went to start the car the car would not start. the car had to be towed to the closest honda dealership. they looked at the car the next day and said that the starter had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced.
Purchased car with 10 miles on it. failed to start upon leaving dealership. apparently loose wire. salesman wiggled with cable and car started. every day since the purchase of car, i would have a false start requiring a second or even third try to start the car. 25 days later, 1200 miles later, the car died and was towed to the nearest honda dealer. apparently, the battery was not installed properly and all cables surrounding the battery was loose and the headlamp cover was loose also. there is clunk noise when you initially put the car in drive and was told by the dealer that this is normal noise. there is a metallic rub when depressing on the brake and there is loud brake noise also. dealer said this was normal also, but i'm not so sure of this. *la
My 2004 honda accord ex v6 occasionally has issues starting. my honda only has 1600 miles on it. it acts as if it's flooded; everytime i've had to remove the key and try again. i had the same exact issue (along with many others) with my 2003 honda accord ex v6 -- so many that the dealer bought the vehicle back from me (before i could lemon law it) and put me in the 2004 -- because "honda's are good cars". *jb
Intermittently my v6 ex 2004 accord is difficult to start, and requires several attempts to get started. the dealer tell me that this is "normal" for this make and is related to the computer chip in the car. it seems that this was also a problem with the 2003 accords. it appears that no resolution is possible.*jb
