Both back seat passenger door cannot be opened one stopped opening about a month before the other it's as though the child safety lock is on but isn't. they can't be opened from inside or outside. this is a safety matter of great importance in the event of a crash my passengers won't be able to exit the vehicle.
Car delayed gear when other car was behind me almost caused a small reck in highway
2015 scrapped car. have returned 4 cards advising as such. this past summer/spring someone come to my home about the car and the recall. assured me records would be updated to reflect car destroyed. have received another card in the fall and 2 days ago received another phone call about getting the air bag taken care of. since it's a recording i can't have anyone remove us from the list. we are tired of this harassment. please help. 2002 green honda accord. vin ending in 2a012127. registered under william mickel, 123 prospect pt. rd, lake hopatcong, nj 07849. this has to stop. the car was destroyed/scrapped!!!!! honda can't seem to get their records straight. i even called them 2 years ago advising no longer owning the car. i will no longer send the cards in. however, just received another card advising the car hasn't had the airbag recall taken care of. please stop this . if i receive any further correspondence i will be speaking with my lawyer and looking to be compensated do to this harassment.
All of my exterior doorhandles no longer work. i can't secure my vehicle without locking myself out as well. the rear passenger interior doorlatch no longer works either so that door can't be opened at all now. i'm paranoid that the rest of my interior latches are going to stop working too & i may be trapped inside because my electric windows have started having issues as well.
I was told there was a recall a couple yrs back on the airbags and although the recall was a few yrs ago i am a new owner to this vehicle and want to be sure i am safe
This complaint is not in regards to something that came with the car but an aftermarket product. so it applies to all cars. if this department only deals with oem material then please forward to the correct department. the product is an automatic transmission additive. once applied it has the ability at least in my case to stop a car from moving forward on a freeway. the product is made by a company called xado usa 1207 remington rd, schaumburg, il 60173 -- 888-787-9236. the specific product is xado revitalizant ex120 conditioner for automatic transmissions and cvt. supposedly the active ingredient in this product is revitalizant . this product was originally made for their engine oil additive. the revitalizant is suppose to fill worn metal parts in a internal combustion engine with a ceramic metal coating. if wouldn't take a chemical engineering knowledge that this product in transmission oil would be counter productive. a automatic transmission or manual transmission has clutchs which requires a rough surface to grab and transmit power to the wheels. if there is slippage, friction would be produced and heat generated instead. in my specific instance the transmission shop list the damage as ""torque converter clutch lining peeled causing filter to plug restricting flow of transmission fluid"". as stated this is not an oem product. it's an after market products like child safety seats. truck rack add on etc. i believe it is a dangerous product because it can cause the sudden lost of power for a car to complete an intersection turn etc.

Ever since i got my car the transmission has skipped once i started to accelerate. it picks up speed very slowly and once i get to about 20 mph it starts skipping really bad and i have to release the gas. this is extremely dangerous because it skips in the middle of traffic and once i was on the highway and it skipped four times in a row. i was so scared i had to get off and take the streets. i went to see if my transmission for my model was recalled (honda accord 2002) and i only seen the 2003 model recalled but many 2002 owners have reported this incident occurring online as well. i feel that honda owes it to their customers to test this out and conduct a recall.
2002 honda accord failed 2017 state inspection due to rust hole in front cradle subframe
Because the vehicle is a 2002 the records do not show past 15 years.i am unable to get an answer as to whether recall #02v-226 in 2002 was ever done on the car.i purchased in 2004.any info for this vehicle recall would be greatly appreciated
I have been the sole owner of this vehicle. the trunk of the vehicle will fall down and hit your head causing a head injury. this happens as you are leaning into the trunk to insert/remove items. there is no latch to keep the trunk more secured. the trunk will fall from the wind blowing or for no reason. i informed a honda dealership about this issue when i had owned the vehicle during the first year, but they dismissed my concerns. over the course of the 14 years i have owned this vehicle, despite being careful, i have had several injuries from this issue, especially when i need to use both hands to insert/remove items from the trunk. my husband and mother have also had injuries. this is a vp (value package) model of the 2002 honda accord. this is an ongoing issue so i am going to insert today's date even though this has been going on since i purchased the vehicle in 2002.
Well it started with my automatic transmission wouldn't shift i had to do it manually then i go to get in it one morning and it wouldnt actually move in drive but would fine in reverse when i did get it to move it said it was in neutral well now it will not move in any drive 1-4 but does in the neutral position and if u pubit in reverse and shift to drive at first it still is in reverse then it like jumps and goes into supposed drive but won't move till i shift to neutral again

It was in for an oil change and the front sub frame on the passenger side is rusted to the point it will not pass a pennsylvania state inspection i call honda but they will not help me this is a problem with the 1999 to 2002 honda accords and a safety problem i can't drive the car and the cost to fix it os over $2000.00 ( only 99531 miles on it ).
When i purchased my 2002 ex honda accord in 2015; i thought i was getting a reliable dependable car. honda is know for its reliability but little did i know that the whole sub-frame (front & back was fully rusted). my srs warning light comes on quite often. the a/c drain i strongly believe was installed improperly which causes the sub-frame to rust and crack. i bought the car with only 82,358 miles and purchased a extended warranty through honda dealership which my powertrain only covered up to 90,000 miles. i had taken the car for its first oil change which was at 91,000 miles and all of a sudden i started to have powertrain problems. even though on my bill of sale it stated as is honda dealership knew that a customers such as myself would look under the body of the car. i went online and have read numerous complaints about the same problem i was having with this model & year. also their extended warranty problem was an issue. why is the federal government & states allowing honda to sell a car with improperly installed a/c drain,sub-frame rotting & crack issues, transmission failure, defective seat belt sensor. i pray that no one dies from this vehicle. 1999-2002 models. i'm a mother of four with a non-curable disease and i just want my car to be fully repaired at the expense of honda. driving on the highway and turning is dangerous for me to be operating but this is my only means of transportation. my mechanic has to me i shouldn't have purchase this vehicle but i didn't realize that honda would do there customers wrong like this just for a profit!!!!
My family was asleep and my car horn was going off (i don't have a security alarm) ran outside and my car was completely on fire at 3:30am. we are not sure what happened and the fire marshal couldn't tell exactly either other than his opinion of maybe an idea of the location it started. i'm not sure if this could be the issue or just a coincidence, but... my power steering sucked and i took it to a mechanic because i was about to go on a 10hr trip. i asked for him to fill the power steering and do all other necessary routine maintenance before a long trip (rotate tires, oil change, add freon, etc) i was on vacation for about 4 days and then it caught fire in the middle of the night. car ran fine before that. anyways friends did some research and told me there was a recall on honda accords 2003-2007 that the steering fluid can deplete and cause fires. my car is a 2002, the car is old with many miles however, ran great. so not sure what it could be but that's pretty coincidental!

Car was headed west in the left lane of a four lane highway. a big suv headed in the opposite direction was turning to the left. he didn't have time to go and stopped right in my lane. my car hit hers on the passenger side. when we crashed, both of my air bags exploded. i thought my car was on fire because smoke was coming from the bags. my right arm and hand swelled up so big and is still painful. i think there must be medal embedded in my arm. blood was gushing from my arm and right knee. the inch gash in my right knee was on top of my total knee replacement. this had to be stitched up. i had contusions on my chest, arm and left knee. my ribs and sternum were bruised badly. my right ankle was fractured. my car was totaled. i was taken by ambulance to emergency and stayed until june 26, 2014. i was ordered to put no weight on my right leg and was transported by ambulance to a medical rehabilitation center. before my release from there, i developed pneumonia and could not leave until july 14, 2014. i still have to have surgery on my left knee for torn meniscus. that surgery is scheduled for september 9, 2014. my back was fractured also; however, i have not scheduled that surgery as of yet.......updated 09-03-14 *bf updated 11/26/2014 *js
While driving up a hill, the car jerked a few times, then gave a hard knock or two. i stopped the car for about two minutes. when i tried to accelerate, the car dragged and could only move very slowly. i pulled into a nearby driveway and awaited the tow. my mechanic was able to back it into a parking spot, but that was the last movement the car made on its own. the car was then towed to the honda dealer who said that the transmission needed to be replaced.
At first instance, the car began to show sluggish conditions when shifting gears. as time went on, the 'slips' began to grow more and more dangerous to the point that the car could barely shift between gears at all and was a safety hazard for both driver and to anyone around me as i was vulnerable to be rear-ended by anyone too close behind (because the car could not accelerate) and to those ahead of me as the car tended to jerk forward. after a repair to the solenoid once before, the car's performance improved, however some sluggish conditions remain and the conditions only worsen as time goes on. at 102,000 miles, the car's 2nd' transmission appears to need to be replaced to function properly. this is a known issue for honda accords as reported on several websites and known and acknowledged by independent mechanics across the country. it is irresponsible and reprehensible for honda to not take responsibility for this and be held accountable. at this current time honda refuses to take such action and will only offer minor reduction in repair costs that hardly seems fair to the thousand's of owners affected by this. please keep record of this and offer whatever assistance you can provide. source: http://www.carcomplaints.com/honda/accord/2002/transmission/hesitates_and_shifts_very_hard.shtml others maybe provided upon request.
Car paint started peeling years ago ... peeling and flaking off. if started with a crackly white surface and just festered and grew to the disgusting embarrassing mess that it is today. the top of the car near the back window and the top of the back trunk are the worst spots. i ignored the problem for many years (call me naive, but i've never experienced anything like it). there is obviously a defect and honda needs to remedy the problem.
I tried contacting honda to see whether it is normal to get electric shocks from the car. every time i close my door to my car i get shock. i even seen electric wave. however, honda indicated that it must be the way i am walking, but everyone who comes in and out of my car gets shock and its only happens in the dry winter time. when i step on my pedal the car stalls which causes me to step on the pedal harder. my engine just turns off while i step on the brakes. i have spoken to a mechanic who indicates that is normal for honda accord 2002. i contacted service, but they indicated that it is my responsibility and it is not the manufactures problem. i just wanted to report this information. *jb
I am very disappointed with my very first new car purchase. i thought honda was supposed to be a number one car for safety and was supposed to be long lasting. i have had mine in the shop 6-7 times in the last 6 -7 months and it is due to go into the shop again because they still have not fixed the window buttons correctly. i have had the car not start 3 times and have brought it into the dealer to have them tell me that nothing is wrong. i have been without a car for several days while they have it hooked up to some computer and have had no rental cars available to me. i am very frustrated and very affraid to go out to my car and have it not start on a day that i really need it. i want these pronblems fixed and am bringing it to another dealer to see if they can help me with it. dt
Transmission had to be replaced due to engine light continuously coming on, and staying on. contacted dealer ,and the dealer replaced transmission, but problem still occurs. *ak *yh
