Tl* the contact owns a 2000 honda accord. while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for routine maintenance, it was found that the front passenger side subframe was severely corroded. the air conditioning condensation line dripped fluid on top of the key suspension component, which caused the failure. the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted. the dealer was not notified. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 62,000.
As i was making a left turn all the dashboard lights turned on. i took it to autozone and they told me there is something wrong with rear tire on the passanger side
My vehicles cruse control, lane departure, collision warning and lane assist completely stopped working after being parked (stationary) in my driveway, vehicle has always had problems with front suspension since new and become unstable with braking hard if another driver cut me off having to apply brakes or when applying brakes down hill.. vehicle was taken to deal for front suspension but never fixed after multiple attempts under warranty.. the latest issue with driver safety system is a manufacturers failure as these are features supposedly to prevent accidents and so fourth on public roads and highways. my vehicle is just over 4 years old and maintained and serviced to manufactures specification. in researching thru the web i found honda owners having this same issue with their vehicle. i believe honda should recall and fix these problems on their vehicles computer / software or sensors for public safety. part of the weather door window stripping is also deteriorating.
Both front and rear subframes have rusted completely through such that the car is not road worthy
(registering this complaint on 16 sep 19). i bought this car new ('18 accord hybrid), 6 sep 18. a couple months later the front struts started making a creaking/popping sound. it was very noticeable when backing out of garage and then driving out of my neighborhood. when i'd rock the steering back and forth, the noise was very audible. took it back to the dealer and they said neither front strut had been lubed from the factory (very odd), so they lubed them. 2-3 weeks later noise returned. this time dealer said one strut was bad and they replaced it. a month later the same noise returned. dealer said i had a bent control arm and asked me if i had hit something. i hadn't and told them so. after inspection they said they found no damage but that the control was bent and concluded that it was bent from the factory or was damaged during shipping. dealer replaced it. but then 3-4 weeks later same noise returned. i have about had it with this particular car (i have had to take it back to the dealer for many 'other' issues also: two recalls, electrical issues, navigation issues, the engine's ...
2017 honda accord se (special edition) with continental p235/40r19 tires suddenly with 22k miles began to make what seems to be a metal to metal noise at low speeds. dealer stated tire bead is defective and tends to not seal with 19in factory rims. apparently lowering the tire pressure from 51psi to 40ps/i makes /problem or noise go away. in my case the noise returned a week after dealership (honda world, westminster, ca) added tire bead sealant to front left driver side tire. i filed a complaint with honda corporate office in torrance, ca on 9/27/19 who reported tires were not covered in 36k warranty. this could also be a wheel/rim problem or other suspension problem. the rim and tires apparently are to heavy for car. car was purchased new with these tires and rims from factory. it is rare that a tire will produce a metal on metal grinding noise. it is my expectation that the ntsb take this issue serious as it presents a serious issue if tire blows up or tire bead deforms. the dealer declined to fix problems and blamed issue on tires. they suggested i purchase another tire. one tire costs approximately $250.00 dollars. ...
I've had my power steering pump and rack & pinion replaced. power steering is still tough, feels like i'm turning the wheel with 40lb weights on each side of it. suspension is failing, hitting a bump makes my car feel like the suspension is pushing up and makes it float momentarily and makes a slight noise while driving. both cv axles failed front side at the same point of that rubber grommet in the middle, water gets trapped under it and makes it rust out....both of them snapped while i was driving at different points.
My vehicle has missing structural adhesive on the front driver side suspension strut tower. it appears the robot that bonds the pieces of metal together with adhesive either had an air bubble in the line when this vehicle was made or there was some other defect. in addition, the transmission shifts extremely rough and nothing has been done by honda to correct the issue. i also had to have bubbles fixed in the paint on the trunk lid. the adaptive cruise control is nearly impossible to use because it does not detect vehicles ahead and accelerates rapidly or applies the brakes abruptly for no reason. american honda was notified of the defect in the suspension strut tower adhesive but refused to send an engineer to look at the car. in my opinion, any missing structural adhesive used to join metal, especially on a highly dressed place such as the strut tower, could easily become a safety defect. i would prefer my vehicle be bought back from honda as it appears to be a lemon.
