Brake lights stopped working almost was plowed into by 18 wheeler on i-75. driver waved us over and informed us that he did not see us till right on top of us. problem appears to be systemic enough that the gmc service department told us that it was common enough that they kept the brake lights in stock. additionally there are numerous threads about this issue on the internet and even utube videos on where to remove material to access the offending circuit board to repair the known faulty circuit. the failure of these brake lights could have cost my family and me our lives. the dealership wanted to charge 1600$ to replace the brake lights. i reiterate the brake light failure is common enough that there are numerous threads on the internet to discuss the known weakness of the circuit board
This can be researched by hundreds of videos on youtube. poor design causes the metal to break inside the led rear tail lights which makes them inoperable. these are unsafe when these go out and it is very common. general motors does warranty their lights nor is there a recall.this is a costly repair and a safety issue
Brake light on vehicle works intermittently and is no longer safe. this is a problem gmc is well aware of and no solution in sight. cheap metal board brakes inside the lens and leaves you with no brake light. i do not want my family to be rear ended because of this professional grade? brake light failure, at any time on road.this is a 2016 gmc yukon with 22710 miles as i write. brake light has failed while moving on the city streets. this failure is currently on the passenger side brake light. trying to make appointment for repair of this professional grade brake light? before the other one brakes and put my family at risk of a accident.
Brake and taillight are going on and off intermittently. i can hit the side of the taillight and it will blink on and off sometimes. looked up online and found it is a well known issue that gmc will not fix. this is a safety hazard.
Brake lights are shorting out causing them to work intermittently. circuit is broken inside the sealed portion of the light preventing repair.
Rear led taillight went out our only 3 year old 2016 gmc denali. this effects the stop, tail, and turn lights. these led lights are not repairable and the whole assembly has to be replaced. gm charges an astronomical price of around $700 for each side. it is very hard to find any used ones and according to part dealers gm has a 'bounty' on any used ones to turn back in. obviously gm is aware of this problem and needs to address it as not only as good customer relations but it's really a safety issue as well.
The tail light stopped working and cannot change out the led bulbs, it is a break some where the the wiring.
2016 gmc yukon tail light not working. started not working for a day or two and then worked again and then quit completely.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 gmc yukon. the contact stated that he was pulled over by the police for a tail light failure. the contact scheduled an appointment with carmax (916-782-2404, located at 1450 eureka rd, roseville, ca 95661) to replace the tail light. the contact stated that it was a known issue that the led light bulb in the tail light assembly could not be replaced without replacing the entire tail light assembly. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 29,400.
My tail light is out only on the brake part the dealers said i have to replace the hole light ive had my car no more than 2 years running well just the light problem the dealer said it happens alot but it was not under warranty they want to charge 600 dlls i think they should fix their issue an not have people spending this much for something they know they should fix
Internal circuitry of passenger tail light cracked in multiple locations causing the led's that provide running and stop functions of the light to fail. the car was not wrecked or damaged in any way. appears as if metal fatigue from bumpy roads perhaps causes the circuitry to fail at at least 2 weak points in the metal circuit. the problem was pointed out by a trailing policeman while stopped at a red light, he kindly notified me that the entire light was out.
Left rear led brake/tail light went out at approximately 43,000 miles. in doing research this is a common problem in gmc yukon. it seems to be just after warranty expires as mine did. the cost to replace is anywhere around $800.00. i have no choice but to get it replaced as it is a safety issue. research also says these led's should be lasting much longer than they are on this make and model. i feel with the numbers so high gmc really needs to look into a recall and get this problem fixed or help compensate some of the cost. also, this part is not readily available so we go weeks with no brake or tail light until it can be repaired. this is so not safe!!
The led lights on the left rear tail light are defective. they flicker or do not work at all. the vehicle has less than 43,000 miles. to fix the issue requires replacing the entire tail light at a cost of more than $800. it should be a recall on a defective part.
Brake light/turn signal fail with no warning to driver. the failure requires replacement of the entire component. dealer quoted $826 to replace assembly. i understand that these have a very high failure rate. along with the lack of warning to the driver that their rear brake lights and turn signals are not working this is serious problem. the failure rate is so high that several independents are repairing them
