No one will get the parts in to repair my airbags and it's been years. its as if they want me to get rid of my truck but i don't want to. there's also a recall on something smoking and the year starts at 2007 yet my truck isn't included which is very strange some i just had this happen to me on 2/9 and had to have my truck towed and repaired at american petroleum on quarterfield rd.
Gm recalled the takata airbags almost 4 years ago with no fix for my vehicle yet. this is a safety hazard. also, all the warning lights are lit on the dashboard but no codes are stored. bad ground.
The plastic dash board has been cracking over the years. it is now breaking into jagged pieces that are free to fly around the passenger cabin. cracked pieces around the air bag pose a potential problem to the eyes and face of passengers in the event of a crash. electrical wires are also exposed to uv light causing premature failure. this vehicle has been meticulously cared for with no other major failures to speak of. i believe that the potentially dangerous dash situation has been caused by substandard materials used in manufacturing.
As i was walking to my truck, i hit the button (as i have always done) to unlock the door, the passenger side airbag exploded and crashed the windshield

Takata recall i received a notice in the mail to visit the website www.airbagrecall.com for more info about obtaining free replacement airbags. when i was told that i did need the replacement i placed a call to a dealership in my city & was told that they couldn't do anything for me at this time. it wasn't an official gmc recall. luckily i have not been involved in an accident yet but am confused as to why gm is not taking action before someone is killed or hurt to take care of this matter.

Tataka airbag recall. i have rec'd notice to take this into the dealer for immediate repair due to the recall. in calling the dealer, they have the safety warning/recall for the airbag but there is no remedy yet so cannot repair/fix this issue. this warning/recall has been in effect since 5/2016. the airbag sensor went on in the vehicle while driving on normal highway conditions and speeds mid october 2017 and cannot be repaired yet due to no remedy.
The dash on my 2007 yukon slt has a crack that has progressively gotten worse right above my driver side airbag.

My vehicle has a recall on the airbags. my dealership (bradshaw automotive group, greer, sc) tells me that gm will send the replacement bags to them with the vin # of the vehicle that the air bags are to go in. i also know the older models, like mine, are where the deaths are happening. i use my car for work and sometimes every seat is needed. even thought my vehicle is a 2007, it is in excellent shape and should have another 100,000 miles to go. i learned that takata has filed bankruptcy in japan and the us. my vehicle comes from an american company, next japan. gm will have to replace the airbags with or without takata, why wait on more deaths.
