We have classified the 3 complaints from 2001 GMC Yukon about ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING into the following categories.
2001 yukon transmission seal failed because of rough shifting, serpentine drive belt squeaks. vehicle leaked fuel consumer had to get a ride home while fire dept cleaned up spill. *ts a seal failed and coolant leaked into the transmission and destroyed it. the radiator seal failed. the head light lens was loose. *jb
On three separate occasions my check engine light came on and all three times the sai (emissions) valves were rusted causing them to fail. the dealer told me since the valves are located directly under the exhaust the condensation falls onto the them causing them to rust. they also said there is no permanent fix for this. *jb
The serpentine belt has been replaced twice and then the alternator was replaced because when the truck is started it makes a squealing noise and after all that, it still makes the noise. *jb
Vehicle had been sitting for about 2 hours and consumer drove vehicle less than a block and temperature gauge was showing hot. consumer pulled over, and black smoke was coming from hood. catalytic converter was red hot. took vehicle to dealer, and dealer stated that fuel was dumping in catalytic converter. please provide any further information.*ak
When vehicle is cold engine makes a knocking noise and is sluggish. duration of the problem has progressed currently affecting vehicle when it warms up. dealer was contacted and was aware of problem. *ak consumer states the engine has piston problems.*yh
Multiple failures; a/c odors, door lock, suspension alignment and brakes. *bf there were problems with the following: weather strip was loose, the a/c blew warm, the belts squeaked, there was a mildew odors, the window regulator, the front seat belt squeaked, the door panel, the steering wheel rattled, drive shaft, accelerator pedal, the wipers were noisy, the hinge pin on the radio was loose, engine noises, a/c drain would not drain at times until the passenger door was closed/water lead and caused by the left front floorboard. recall#01v159000, 02v253000, 03v094000. *sc
Intermittent stalling when making a right turn. dealer was notified, and informed consumer that they could not duplicate the problem.*ak consumer states dealer loaned a vehicle data recorder, however problem has not occurred since august 6th, after vehicle stalls it will start back up without a problem. abs experienced erratic operation. front passenger seat belt needed replaced. *slc
Vehicle stalls at any speed. has stalled 15-20 times. to dealer 3 times, cannot remedy problem. *ak
