The side blind zone detection system became defective, from defective modules damaged from the elements. this causes many electrical systems to become disabled and even disables the vehicle completely. there is a special warranty but only up to 80,000 miles. my vehicle is beyond that. it is still extremely dangerous for many gm customers and replacement parts and labor should be covered for all!
When i come to a stop and put the car into park i get a message to shift to park before i can turn car off
Shift to park warning light turns on when car is in park. headlights stay on.
Multiple occasions when driving vehicle, then attempting to shift from drive to park and actually in park an error comes on 'shift to park' comes on, i've taken it to dealership and they blame me on some light bulbs i changed, well i changed them back and still error occurs. unfortunately when that happens i can't lock my vehicle for some time until multiple times of turning on and off the vehicle. (2) while driving forward, my rear camera would be displaying live everything behind me, which was very distracting, took it to the dealership, i think they fixed it
With my vehicle stationary and shifter in the park position, i turn my car off and the vehicle turns off but the instrument cluster says "action required - shift to park". this message also does not allow the day time running lights to turn off and if the lights don't turn off the battery drains if parked for long stretches. i have to turn the car on/off several times before it engages and the message disappears.
My headlights stopped working while i was driving on a highway. i pulled off the road & the drl led lights around the headlights were still on, but the headlights were not. i tried turning the lights off/on, tried turning the vehicle off/on. my husband checked the fuses, relay, & sensors, as well as changed both bulbs and they still will not work. it was dark while i was driving, which posed a dangerous situation. upon researching online, there seems to be other people who have had the same problem.
Vehicle does not acknowledge that you are in park and will not turn the vehicle off completely. the engine shuts off, but lights and everything else stays on. if you exit the vehicle it beeps and the horn honks.
While driving my gmc acadia the car started loosing power, it then gave a message that said traction control off/on it also had stability track message.
When i put my vehicle in park and turn it off, my shift to park message comes across and i have to turn my vehicle back on and move the gear from park to something else and back to park. sometimes this has to be done a few times before it will completely turn off.
I've had my gmc acadia for about 4 years now. i initially (within 30 days of purchase) had issues with the window motor because my windows weren't going up when pressing the buttons on either side up front. carmax fixed the issue. well, i'm still having the same problem today except the passenger side button works occasionally to roll up the front window. the driver side button works fine for the driver side window and both of the rear windows. it doesn't work to roll up the front passenger side window. this happens whether my vehicle is parked or in motion.
