Tl* the contact owns a 2001 ford windstar. the contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated and failed to pick up speed. the contact merged to the side of the road and turned it off. the vehicle was restarted, but the speed would not increase past 5 mph. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the technician diagnosed that the transmission had failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate mileage was 136,000.
7/21/2011 bought van from private party. recall completed in march of 2011 regarding back axle. on 7/13/2012 8pm, my 18yr old son, while driving home from lacrosse practice, nearly killed. upon pulling out onto the main road, he lost all controls, no steering, no brakes and no power. he coasted and prayed it would stop. i arrived, we called aaa. flatbed to my home driver could not believe his eyes. the engine had fallen out. 7/16/12 called ford in mich and spoke to rep. to be towed 13 miles away to route 23 auto at our expense. really? route23 wanted nothing to do with me (they did recall). went back and forth then per rt23 "it will be a month until we can look at it" getting know where. 7/18-22 borrowed friend car for tournament. 8/1/12 called magarino ford and with great concern had a flatbed that night. this tow truck driver could not believe it. fluids raced out and double stabilized for engine sliding during transport. 8/2/12 magarino called 9am, pictures sent to ford and awaiting reply. 8/5/12 t/c from m stating ford ...

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 ford windstar. the contact's wife was driving 30 mph when the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who inspected the failure and advised the contact that there was a transmission failure. the vehicle was then towed to the dealer who inspected the failure and stated that the torque converter needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired by the contact. the manufacturer was notified of the failure who stated there were no recalls and offered no further assistance. the failure mileage was 47,764. the consumer stated he noticed his make, model and year vehicle was not included in the recall, with the other ford models. the consumer stated he experienced the same transmission failure as stated in the recall. recall# 12v006000. updated 03/02/12 updated 06/12/12

Abs light is on continuously. overdrive jumping in and out of gear after driving it 30 minutes or more. i read the recall and safety report that brake fluid leaks on the abs switch connected to the master cylinder which can cause a catastrophic fire. i didn't receive anything in the mail from ford on my vehicle on this problem as of yet. also the coolant line that ran under port injection was welded leaking water where it connects to the thermostat housing. *kb
While driving on the highway in delaware with my family the van i suddenly loss acceleration. thank god i was able to get over to the side of the road but this has to be a safety concern. without notice lose acceleration and now no gears work. 2003 ford windstar. after searching on line there a lot of people who had the same thing happen to them. this van has been a major problem with the axle breaking while driving and that was recalled. how can this not be recalled as it almost the same result. accident. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 ford windstar. the contact was driving approximately 35 mph and approaching a traffic stop signal when the accelerator pedal was depressed and the engine exhibited an abnormally rapid increase in engine rpms. the transmission failed to respond and the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the contact planned to have the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic. the manufacturer was made aware of the defect. the approximate failure mileage was 180,000.

While driving, i felt the van was not shifting, so i went to the dealer i bought it from. they said there was nothing wrong with the transmission. the problem still existed. i took it back to dealer-again, nothing wrong with transmission but they did do a transmission tune up. when i picked it up, i drove into town. i was driving on the highway and had to stop on a red light. on green, i pressed my gas pedal but the car would not move. in a desperate effort, i shut the engine off and waited a few minutes. i was able to move again, but for only about a quarter mile to have to do the same repeatedly until i got to a safer spot. finally, i ended up leaving my van parked at a shopping center and called a cab home. this is not the only problem i have been going through with my ford windstar van. the interior lights flash on and off while i am driving, and my air conditioning doesn't work, even when i had free on put in it. i do not have the money for another car, nor do i have ...
