First, i want to say that this vehicle is well maintained and serviced on a regular basis. it was a pleasant summer day but had more of a autumn feel...
I don't even know where to begin. every problem you could imagine with this car only ay 69k miles after fords pathetic powertrian warranty expires. i bought this car at 66k miles spent 20 grand after tax and only made one payment besides the down payment. first off the ptu failed on this vehicle failed after 2k miles witch is a really common problem on this vehicle witch was a $900 part though ford. had this replaced and not only 7 days later and barely 1k miles the transmission failed causing the motor to overheat damaging the motor.. now i have a $400+ payment on a vehicle that needs over $9000 in repairs between the motor and transmission and the dealer wont fix it because i didnt buy and extended warranty and its out of the factory 60k warranty. note this is a 2016 (performance sedan) (sho) and this has been the most unreliable car i have ever bought. i would like to note i always buy ford and have had issues here and there but nothing like this between break downs i didn't even get to drive the car 30 days and now own 6 years worth of payments... ...
The vehicle has struggled to start after refueling at a gas station with a hiccuping type feeling, as well as being inconsistent on power under acceleration. sometimes very slow with a sudden pull, sometimes quick and responsive, it varies a lot by day.
I drove to a friends house and had no problems at all was there for about an hour or so and when i started the car and put it in drive it wouldn't move the car is on a side street in the city

Takata recall.: the car power's down while driving, air condition, lights, signals shuts down, theft alert comes on also. all these things happening while driving on the highway, in the city, and while park!!!!!
The car has low miles for the year 42k. the transmission has always been erratic, hard shifting, holding gears for too long. a new problem that is happening, in the morning car clunks extremely hard into second gear. i went to accelerate onto a busy road and the transmission banged so hard it startled us and lost power. there's a safety concern with this because it lost all power and we were almost hit by an approching car. after doing searches on the internet, i found this is a common problem with a lot of ford taurus model. the ford company is apparently aware of this problem in their transmissions and won't do anything about it. i purchased the car with 23k miles on it. as of today, we are concerned about our safety in traffic.
While driving various speeds, the vehicle will just shut off in the middle of traffic and show a wrench light on the dash. this has happened 4 times (twice in the last week) on my 2013 ford taurus limited. i can start the car again after about 20 seconds but this is a very dangerous defect that has many complaints. i'm lucky no one has crashed into the back of me. this is my first and last ford.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford taurus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle decelerated, stalled, and the maintenance vehicle warning indicator illuminated. when the vehicle was restarted, it operated normally. the vehicle was taken to academy ford (13401 baltimore ave, laurel, md 20707, (800) 658-7794), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case number was provided. the failure mileage was 130,000.
I was driving and all of a sudden the car just dropped down to about 10 miles per hour. it wouldn't accelerate even when i pushed the pedal to the floor so i just went back to my job to park before i got to the main road where the rush hour traffic was.
I was driving at 45 miles an hour through town and without any warning the car stopped accelerating and then a loud bang. the transfer case detached right off the transmission and the transmission was damaged in the process.
