We have classified the 3 complaints from 1999 Ford Ranger about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
There is a problem with the door switches with this vechicle. i had the door switches replaced 2 years ago because they both were saying the the door was open when in fact they were closed. a year later the car started doing it again. it has been an on going problem since i can not afford to have the problem repaired. there is also a problem with the wipers. they spontainsouly turn themselves on for no reason and at times when i try to turn them on in the rain the dont work properly.*ak
While driving 60 mph and without warning, spare tire unlatched, and or wire rusted, resulting in release of spare tire. there was a metal wire locking tire in place.*ak *tt
The transmission developed a "slip" four months after veh purchase and was brought in for service on 28 dec00. the vehicle displayed the same malfunction on oct 15 2003 (3 months after warranty expiration)and was brought in for repair at the dealer at a cost of $1500. during dec2004 (13 months later)the vehicle again displayed the same malfunction and was brought to the dealership where they stated the previous repair warranty had expired the month before.
While driving with air conditioner on, engine surges. consumer has contacted dealer. *ak consumer has contacted four dealers, they are unable to rectify problems. (problems since vehicle was new) *mjs
There is 3 or 4 recalls on my ranger and i was never notified of any. with the tires i tried to do something and they told me there was nothing i could do because i changed the tires myself to something else before i even new they may be problems. i also own a 1998 ford escort and could not pull up that model can you tell me if there was any recalls on that one. thank you.*la
