Takata recall. my vehicle was stationary when i got to work i nothing my rear bumper fell off with no given warning and i didn't hear it hit the ground i got home and looked under the frame and noticed the whole frame was rotten away and is not safe to drive
The repair shop informed me my leaf spring shackles could not be repaired due to severe rot of the frame in the rear.truck only has 59000 miles on it and was well taken care of.the rest of the truck is in very good shape. this should not happen is there a recall i dont no about? thankyou
The frame on this truck has rusted to the point where it is unsafe to drive. the rear bumper actually fell of the vehicle while it was being driven. i took off the bed and cut off the rear part of the frame and welded on a new rear section and put on new leaf spring hangers and re installed the bumper a few years ago and re coated the frame with paint but now it has gotten worse to the point where i can no longer drive it as there are actual holes rusted thru. it needs a frame replacement or it just a parts vehicle.
Severely rusted frame. while the spare tire has not fell off yet, i had the truck up on a rack at patrick airforce base to change the oil. i've known for a while that the frame is bad. the truck only has 81,000 miles on it, but looking at the frame, it won't last much longer.
The passenger side rear shackle rusted completely off and the leaf spring almost went through the bed of the truck. the truck was not drivable until the passenger side rear shackle was replaced. this was discovered after driving over a bump in the road, hearing a loud bang and experiencing a jolt. once parked the truck was completely looked over, which lead to more discoveries. a giant rust hole has formed in the frame behind the shackle on the driver's side rear area of the truck. this truck has been well maintained throughout the years and was professionally under coated a couple years ago with no holes in the frame or visible rust at that time. the frame has deteriorated rapidly. luckily i did not try to tow anything with this truck because the rear part of the frame likely would have been ripped off, losing what was being towed and potentially causing an accident. there is also a large hole forming in the bed of the truck.
Takata recall, still has not been resolved. my transmission reverse band went bad at 99,985 miles... on a light driven car the shackles that hold thereat suspension has completely rotted out. the truck bed is dust, completely shot the passenger door is rotted out on the bottom and the drivers door is right behind it. the frame is rotted out... and other than that its good
Frame is rotted everywhere for the most part spare tire is about to fail off isn't safe to haul anything in the bed
