I have been unable to drive my vehicle since i discovered the recall in august of 2015 at fords recommendation. i have suffered extreme financial loss. i asked ford to assist with a trade in only for them to charge negative equity and try and capitalize on the situation. they have made promises which have come and gone, the latest promised repair by 4th quarter of 2016. please help me recover compensation for my loss or make them replace my airbags. i don't know where else to go for help.
On 08/02/15, i was driving my 2014 ford mustang. i was struck on my passenger side while making a left turn. as a result my air bag deployed causing a concussion and a laceration across my forehead requiring medical attention and 23 stitches. i also received a brush burn across my left forearm.

I thought, after several calls to nhtsa, my complaint would appear along with the others on this site, but since it hasn't, i am filling out this form to be part of the group getting nowhere with either ford or nhtsa since i received (unacceptably late) notice of the airbag recall, since it is agreed there won't be any fix anytime soon. this is the only vehicle in my household, and i have not been able to and won't (because i value my face and my life) drive my car for the three weeks since i received the notice which said it could cause serious injuty or death. neither ford nor nhtsa have done anything to assist me - no loaner, no buy-back, no replacement car. this is unacceptable. the important safety recall i received is a meaningless, empty shell since it provides no solution to or assistance with a life-or-death problem. since i was even told by one of the many pass-the-buck people i spoke to on the phone that the notice doesnt mean that you cant drive your car?! - be it known that if i did have to drive my car because you have given me no alternative, if i am injured or killed your recall notice does not absolve the co. or the gov't of anything! you cannot scare someone by a letter saying your car could kill you, and then tell them to drive it! you cannot sell someone a defective car, and then not provide another car pending a repair! you cannot recall a car that may result in serious injury or death, and not pull it from the road! the piece of paper i received with the rest of my junk mail means nothing without a solution. i have now made a complaint against ford under the lemon law, and if they continue to fight me, i will take any and all action as far as i have to to receive a full refund of what i paid for my car, but also including punitive damages for not helping their customers pending a fix (as other car co's are doing).

On july 27, 2015, we received a recall notice from ford motor company that our vehicle has a recall regarding the front driver side airbag which could rupture and lead to serious injury or death. it states we will get a letter when the replacement parts are available. we have been waiting for several months and have called the dealer several times to find out why they are not fixing this in a timely fashion. we called on 7-28-15, 10-3-15 and 11-4-15 as well as e-mailed the corporate office to try and get answers. we don't feel safe driving our car and want them to buy it back at what we owe on it since they are not working at getting it fixed in a timely manner.

I am complaining because i received a letter that if i was to get into any crash my drivers side airbag will deploy and send out metal particles that will seriously injure me or cause my death. not to mention hurting a passenger. i called ford and they said the parts won't be in until the end of the year, possibly. so it could be longer. so everyday i have to drive a death trap knowing if i get in an accident within this time i could die or be seriously injured. i do not like that i have to wait and just hope nothing happens before they do something about this situation. they are putting people's life in danger. i just survived cancer and i'll be [xxx] if i am going to die because of ford motor co. i asked them about a loaner car....they said no. they said the car is okay to drive....well no it isn't....everyday i worry and at anytime something could happen. i asked if i can get them to deploy the bag until they get the part (i would rather have no airbag (like in the older days), then to have an airbag that could kill me). i am considering going to the news (not sure what they will do). i am sooooo very upset. i just bought this mustang in jan this year. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I received a letter detailing "safety recall notice 15s21 / nhtsa recall 15v-319" in july 2015. the letter stated that i would be receiving another letter/notice, when parts are available to fix the problem. to date 11/13/15 i have received nothing from ford and have called fmc na several times , with no results. this is b.s and may prevent me from purchasing another ford product. i guess that someone has to be injured and then sue ford before they decide to do anything about this issue.

Takata recall or any defective airbag issues. i rented a car from a small independent car rental agency near a major airport in the usa. i was in slow moving traffic on a highway and had to brake hard for traffic which had stopped. i collided with nothing. the airbag deployed, exploded and shattered as it deployed, burst into flames and a piece of the airbag landed on my arm burning me and leaving a scar. the detonator o the steering remained in flames for several minutes smelling of gunpowder. researching this car rental company online later, there appears to be a pattern - cars rented from this company at very low rates which are claimed to be damaged when returned and then billing the car renter's insurance company and using a repair shop that seems to be directly related to the owner of the car rental company.also, the claims company the car rental uses seems very involved in this potential side industry as well. because their rental rates are so low, this has made me suspicious. the cars they rent out are not new. i have the vpn number that was supplied to the body shop for the repair but have concerns the vpn may not be correct either. what i do have is a piece of fabric from the airbag. i was hoping to be able to identify the airbag that burned me and be sure that it is not either a takata airbag or some generic brand x airbag that would never have been in this model car. i will attach a photo of the fabric. if there is someone i could send a sample of the fabric to, i would be most appreciative of having the name of a legitimate air bag expert. thank you. *tr

It has been 6 months since the takata air bag recall on my car. this car has been rendered useless since the risk of driving this is death. why does the ntsha not hold ford or takata responsible for this? why has the government ageny have no teeth? ford nor ntsha has taken any initiative in getting a resolution for this. looks like no solution in sight!!!!! i guess it is cheaper to pay off law suits than fixing the outstanding recalls.

There are no replacement parts and no repairs available for the air bag recall. it is extremely frustrating to keep hearing on the news that people need to get their car in for repairs only to be told there are no parts! it's been over a year of waiting. and while we let the car sit for awhile, it now has to go off to college with my son. i do not feel comfortable sending a dangerous car to college! and yet what choice do i have? i can't sell the car with a recall on it and expect to get what i need out of it. i really need the government to acknowledge this is a grave concern and stop telling us to bring our cars in when there are no parts to fix the problem! it would also help if there was a buyback program to get these dangerous cars off the road!

Takata recall. this is taking way to long to rectify. my letter is dated july 2015
Takata recall...was notified back in july 2015.... have called and inquired about parts for over a year several times to several ford dealerships and have been told no replacement parts available yet and that it's safe to drive my car"! really! it's now almost october 2016 and still no availability to fix yet they sent me yet another recall notice to have it fixed! i'm getting nervous about driving my car! the customer relations center for ford motors to,d there is no rental car provisions and quite frankly not willing to risk my life or face for a fender bender! please notify me asap about possibly ford taking this car back and i'll go buy something else if they can't take care of their existing customers and concerns about my safety! i am livid with this level or lack of customer service and their disconcert for me and my children's safety! may 2016 received another notice to no avail being able to replace! how in the world is this ok with the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act! i want better results than this! please help [xxx]/[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Takata recall - i was informed in july of 2015 about the safety recall notice 15s21, regarding my takata airbag. in may of 2016, i was informed that my replacement airbag will not be ready until the 4th quarter of 2016. i consider this long delay unacceptable. i have family members who are afraid to drive the car due to the potential of injury due to the airbag defect. i am requesting some other course of action.
Takata inflaters..ist notified of recall by letter dated july 2015. ford dealership continues to tell us we will be notified when the parts come in by mail to schedule the replacement. been their for service two times since and still no parts available. part will be replaced if the air bag deploys...no estimation of much longer we need to risk our lives when driving the car. recent death in texas caused media to encourage us all to get our vehicles fixed, however no mention of the fact that parts are not being issued!, totally dissatisfied with fords handling of the situation!
Takata recall - i received a recall notice from ford in july of 2015. as of yet i have not been given an appointment to have this repaired. it has been brought to my attention that the repair parts supplied to the dealers are used to repair cars turned back to the dealers by lessees so the dealer can legally sell the cars of their lots. in the meantime i am driving this car with the faulty airbags in florida risking my life and unable to sell the vehicle. do i have any recourse in this matter as i have been told that it will probably be another six months until my car is repaired?
Takata recall ford motor sent me a recall notice dated july 2015. seven months have passed and ford has done nothing. there is no part number for the replacement. repeated checks have been made by me with koons ford of sterling, va. koons service mgr and parts mgr say they have no information from ford on this recall. ford needs a kick in this [xxx[ as they have done nothing. this recall is a joke. a fed up mustang owner.
