Went to mike bass ford in sheffield, oh for my routine maintenance. vehicle has only ever been serviced at ford dealerships (with the exception of new tires at discount tire in avon, oh). was informed by the service advisor that the lug nuts were swollen due to the two-piece design and that they would all need to be replaced. i was quoted $59 per wheel which i declined. contacted ford about my extended warranty on 1/3/2020 and was told that even though it was a safety issue, ford would not pay to replace the lug nuts on my vehicle.
I was driving back from grocery shopping when i lost control over steering. the moment when i lost control was during my slight right turn moving at speed of about 30mph i did not know what happened at the moment because i was more focused to not hit anyone presenr at that moment on the road. good thing is that school across the road was closed because timing when this happen was around the time when parents usually pick their kids for school. after i parked car i investigate to see what had happen. there were three messages indicating that something was wrong: 1. steering assist fault - service required, 2. service advancetrac and 3. hill start assist not available. i was searching today to see other people experiance and results were positive a lot of cases like this one. things that all reports have in common is that all owners needed to pay to fix car no option for recal. eventhough that models like this one used to have several things that needed to be changed on similat things in the past.
The michelin energy saver a/s had two failed tires one with a blow out and the other with a side wall bubbles. tires only have 1800 miles on them on a brand new car. dealership claimed road hazard but nothing was hit and there were no punctures.
I hit a huge pothole that blew my tire on interstate 57 south bound near monee (approximately 2 miles north of the peotone exit).
Well i get out this morning to take my kids to school when i crank the car and we start riding the service advancetrac light came on in blank then the service power steering light came on. so after i drop them off i was on my way home the light continue to blink as i pulled up in my driveway the steering wheel start to get hard to steer so i'll park got out well so i'll part pop the hood got out and check for power steering on to realize that is not one because it's electric. so when i look online to my surprise everybody with a ford fusion is having the same as a problem different year different engine size but same problem no one seems to have a solution because it's many things that can cause the problem is very stressful i think y'all should have that on recall to help better assist people with the problems. unfortunately i hate the fact that my my warranty is up as father with a family of five don't have the money to afford to pay for to get it fixed.
Left front wheel stud broken off completely. do not know when or how it happened. went to get wheels rotated and found broken stud.
This cars been recalled : manufacturer recall number :19s01 i didn't get a letter , email no kind of notification about it . had to find out by a friend
Swollen lug nuts as per apple ford of red lion. i had my car in for oil change and rotate the tires. they will not rotate for fear of breaking lug nuts. they will sell me new lug nuts and not charge me to put them on. is this defect currently being looked at? a search online says its a common problem.
Took the car in for regular maintence & was told that they would have to break the lug bolts to rotate tires and i would have to pay to have them replaced. no one has touched this car, but the dealership. ford has admitted to the faulty design, but never issued a recall for this defective part. i think this should be done at no cost to me.
One morning when my wife was getting ready to leave for the gym her car said 'power steering assist fault.' now the car has no power steering and if you try to drive it it flashes 'service advance trac now. sadly we don't have the money to fix this so the car is stuck in the drive way.
