It will not let me turn. it is very hard to turn left or right

"the drive is placing the car out of manufacturers warranty soon." "part cost assessment is $2226.37 to replace if out of warranty."

My wife arrived at work and shifted the car into park. while exiting the car started rolling backwards. she had to apply the emergency brake to stop it. while the dash and shifter said the car was in park it was really in neutral or reverse. i had the car towed to the dealership. the replaced the shifter cable assembly and told me that a small plastic bushing broke and thats what caused the issue. total cost of the repair was $410. there is now a recall for the exact same problem but they will not refund me the money because my vin is not part of the recall. the recall needs to be expanded to cover more fusion's. mine was at the flat rock assembly plant as the recalled cars were, just two weeks after the cutoff date of sept. 14, 2013. ford corporate was no help just told me to call the dealer where i had the repair done. typical ford customer service i must say after dealing with them for the past 4+ years.

Steering bolts have loosened, resulting in some loss of control of vehicle. vehicle was traveling straight on a level highway when this occurred. this is a persistent state.

Was driving at low speed on the highway when "steering assist failure pull over safely" light came on and power steering went out. the vehicle only has 57,000 miles and we took it to ford for repair and they will have to replace the electric rack assembly due to a short in the gear box... *tr

There is a recall on bolts holding the steering assembly together, and the power steering completely went in my 2 year old vehicle. the dealership and ford overall say that because the bolts were fine they aren't responsible for my power steering needing to be completely replaced. they can't tell me how the steering would go in a 2 year old vehicle that is driven to work and the grocery store, not off-roading or racing. the vehicle was stationary, and was started and immediately noticed the power steering failed.

I have experienced a loss of steering power while going on the highway. after pulling over the car light flashing saying "service advancetrac, and steering loss stop safely" i will be taking it to a repair shop but it is a safety issue. i have looked online and have found many problems with similar issues. no recall found?

Power steering stopped functioning over night. skid control and traction control lamps were on and dash said power steering need service. service quote attached. it is a commuter car. no offroading. service advisor claims that dirt might have caused the problem.

While driving on the highway my 2014 fusion cut off. a warning indicator popped up that said "transmission not in park". we had to coast off to the shoulder, fortunately there were no cars in the lane we had to cross to get to the shoulder. later today (the same day) it happened a second time. the car loses all power. we were driving past the dealership we use, so we left the car with them to be fixed and have the oil changed. we will be waiting for the outcome the first of the week, but felt it necessary to report this since others have had the same issue.

The power steering abruptly stopped working.

When my son was driving the vehicle the steering assist indicator light came on without notice at which time he was unable to easily steer the car. he managed to get the car into a nearby parking lot where we had the car towed to a ford dealership service center. the dealer indicated that the steer gear failed and would need to be replaced. even though there a regional customer satisfaction no 15r01, for the replacement of this gear, my repairs would not be covered under this program because the gear didn't fail as a result of fault bolts. i contacted ford motor company and and experienced great customer service in dealing with the problem, at which time i was transfered to tj brewer (thomas), the general manager for the west market. i never spoke with tj as someone named mark answered and indicated that he would be happy to get things started for me and pass it along to tj. mark was rude and belittling. he acted like i was trying to get a free handout and told me that my request for repair for the known steer gear failure has been denied. i asked to speak with tj and mark said that he had all of the authority to approve or deny my request and that no effort of my own would over-ride his decision. i asked him if there was any manager that i could speak with and he told me that they were all busy and he would have them call me back. i have not heard from mark, tj or his manager yet. i followed up with a call into ford motor company again, where i my situation was handled expertly again but told that tj would be the last authority and have the final say on whether ford was going to do the right thing or not.

Vehicle stationary, engine idling when "power steering assist" failure message appears, with subsequent loss of power steering. this has happened twice within 3 day, separate occasions, after driving on interstate for approx. 1 hr, same setting. ford dealership was informed about it on the first occasion during a scheduled 80,000 mile maintenance, however they stated vehicle was ok, and ready to drive. mileage at the time of first incident was approx. 80,947. arrival mileage at ford dealership was 81,043. on 7/13/16

Several times my power steering has shut off on me while driving almost getting me into an accident twice luckily this had yet to happen while driving on the highway as that could be fatal

Steering wheel came lose. dicoved during driving. dealer removed airbag and applied lock-tite to but in steering colum and re-tourqed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. while attempting to shift the gear shifter to the desired gear, the vehicle jerked. the contact also mentioned that the steering wheel was very loose. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, the details of the diagnosis could not be provided. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering wheel column needed to be replaced. the diagnosis for the transmission had not yet been determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. while driving 50 mph or more, the vehicle shifted/swayed from side to side without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

Sudden power steering loss without any warning while driving in a straight line on a highway. only warning was a message saying power steering failure please stop safely. lost all ability to maneuver the car safely or safely transition out of traffic. needed excessive strength to enable the car to turn and safely exit roadway.

I keep getting a series of warning indicators; up hill assist is not available, service advance trak , no power steering, no traction control, no abs, and the no air bag lights come on. this comes on while driving at normal, low speed on regular roads, when turning and also at higher speeds when driving on expressways. this is dangerous especially because my power steering does not work! there needs to be a recall!

Steering wheel became loose had to return to a ford dealership to pull apart and reinstall. the steering wheel was coming away from the steering column.

I started the car and had to warning lights come on. one warning for steering assist fault, and the other for service advancetrac. i read online that ford is recalling cars same year and model for the same issues. but no recall for mine - why??

I started to experience harsh gear shift on december 13, 2015 every time i put the car in reverse. also, when i reached 20mph and 40mph i felt the harsh gear shift and the car would jerk forward. i took my car to the dealership on december 14, 2015 and they said the mount for the transmission was broken. the technician wasn't there to check out the car in order to determine if it was mechanical or not, but they did the work on the car anyway and on december 16, 2015, the dealer called to say the car was ready. it was very obvious they did not test drive the car after supposedly repairing the mount because my car was doing the same thing, except worse. when i took it back the next day, the technician was there and said it is a mechanical problem. i asked for a loan since they said a part had to be ordered and they would need to keep my car for a few days and i was told i couldn't get a loaner. instead, the dealer said my car was drivable and did deliver good customer service. it felt as though he was trying to take advantage and not take care of the customer. then he proceeded to tell me there might be a further problem, but could not tell me what it was. i am extremely dissatisfied with ford. i had the car since march 2014 and shouldn't be experiencing a transmission problem less than 2 years later. there was also a recall on the steering bolts and i didn't receive notification of the recall.

My son and his friend were driving his 2014 fusion on a two lane road that makes a 90 degree turn to the right when his power steering went out. as he came to the turn he was unable to turn the wheel and the vehicle went straight and left the roadway. the vehicle struck a small tree and sustained minor damage to the driver's side front fender and the under carriage of the vehicle. an accident report was made. we were able to drive the car home without any power steering and i took it to the dealership the next day. the dealership informed me that there was no recall for the power steering assist and that the could put the vehicle on a computer to determine the problem. however, it would cost me $135.00 per hour for the diagnosis and it could take 2-6 hours. i was also told that if the power steering assist module needed replaced it would cost approximately $2,000.00. the vehicle has 50,000 miles on it at this time. i drove the car back home and contacted ford customer service and customer relations. it has been past the 15 working day period for a representative to contact me and i have still hear nothing from ford. today i had the vehicle towed to a repair shop.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle stalled as the warning message 'transmission not in park' illuminated. the contact was able to restart the engine. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 35,700.

Engine or transmission knock. steering knock from turning wheels all the way to the left and right. when in park, reverse, or neutral the knock behind the firewall is not heard. when it is in drive and stopped at a light or with the electronic ebrake on while the car is in drive there is a knock behind the firewall around the transmission area (location is close to the lower front of the center console area; where it is predominantly heard). it is not heard until you are in the car with the doors closed (no music on just the odd knock when stopped while in drive or in drive with the ebrake on). i had the engine checked for noise; mechanics at opelika ford al stated it may be my fuel rail and fuel filter which may be causing cabling behind the firewall to rattle. if that is the case i should hear the hard knock while in reverse or park. they stated they tied both down including the cables to see if the noise subsided (took them ten minutes to do this which is quiet fast to access the fuel rail and filter when the area is tight to access in order to tie cables down). i also had the transmission checked; they stated nothing is wrong with transmission. i got it checked because of the knock and the transmission jerked hard into second and third gear. also started to idle hard (this is around 21000 miles). they may have re-flashed the transmission but no mechanic came and spoke to me about it. i also asked for the transmission software to be updated. not sure if they did that either. the car still idles a bit rough from time to time. the issue is still on going and i am in search of a "ford certified mechanic" to actually show me what is wrong so it can be covered by warranty. ford hq stated they do not keep track of information done on the cars it is local to the dealerships which is stupid. so how are their recalls done if they aren't required to keep track of problems?

On wednesday, september 16, 2015 around 3:45pm i made a left turn at a stop light, going about 15-20mph or less, just taking a corner and the steering locked up and kept pulling to the left, i was unable to straighten the car up, luckily no one was beside me. i put the car in park and then back in drive, then i was able to continue. very scary, that came out of no where.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at 10 mph and making a right turn, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering gear motor bolts needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 15v250000 (steering) however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

On 7/7/15 while on the 99 grand-parkway freeway my ford fusion suddenly started drifting and wasn't allowing me to turn back in the lane causing my car to spin out and lose control and crash into a barrier. shortly after i filed a claim with my insurance and with ford customer service on 7/11/15 claiming the power steering went out and a mechanical failure. ford motor mentioned the general counsel would reach out in 15 business days and there were no current recalls on file. however, shortly after i filed that complaint ford sent a vehicle recall regarding power steering corrosion (interesting timing). i have escalated multiple times to customer service and customer relations and still no luck or clarification of why i have not received a letter from general counsel.

On friday march 27 2015 i was driving down the road and i lost all control over my car steering. i was able to pull my car to a safe location and come to a complete stop. it was me and my son in the car at the time this all happen. if i would have been going faster than what i was it could have caused me to wreck. i called the dealer ship when i got the car stopped. they instructed me to call the wrecker service that they handle so i did. once they got the car there they looked at it the next business day witch was monday the 30th they came to a conclusion that the cars network had shut completely down on me while i was driving . they are still not sure why it did that. my car is still in the shop however ford motor company gave me a rental car until next tuesday april 7th 2015 at there expense. this is not the first time i have a problem with the car having a computer problem . i have asked ford motor company to buy the car back and they will not bc its not a transmission issue. and i can not trade it in due to the amt owed on it. so they have instructed me to contact my bbb of my state to file the lemon law so i have done that and the bbb has given me a number to reach yall but im doing it on ur website instead. i feel the ford motor company should take all into consideration as well as me and my family safety into consideration and buy back the car . *tr

Tl* the contact rented a 2014 ford fusion. while the contact was driving southbound at approximately 35 mph, another vehicle traveling northbound made a u-turn and crashed into the front of the vehicle. the front driver and passenger air bags, and side passenger air bags deployed and emitted a substance and debris. the contact's vehicle was spun around. a police report was filed. the contact sustained facial injuries, bruises to the body, and a concussion, which required medical treatment. the left side of the contact's face was bruised when the air bag deployed with force from the steering wheel. the front passenger side air bag and front passenger side door air bags deployed. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v875000 (air bags). a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was later notified of the crash. the failure mileage was not available. *tt

Difficult to control at highway speeds; the car seems to wobble/over correct frequently. the car is difficult to keep between the lines when it encounters even minor bumps in the road. i've brought these concerns to ford and have been met with highly antagonistic responses. ford neglects to acknowledge the issue and told me they test drove the car and were unable to replicate the issue. i don't feel safe driving my new car on the highway. please help!

Was driving car in the parking lot leaving work and was unable to turn the steering wheel. steering wheel had locked up on it, i struggled to turn the wheel and it wouldn't turn. ended up crashing into a concrete light pole. was only going about 15 mph and no airbags deployed. hit my head on the steering wheel and knee into the dash. had to go to the hospital by ambulance. also, the week prior, my low tire indicator light kept coming on and every time i would check the tire pressure it was fine. *tr

Turned on the ignition and put the car in reverse, realized the car was extremely difficult to turn the wheel. warning light came on saying "service advance trac", and "steering assist fault service req'd." the car was so difficult to turn that it is comparable to turning the wheel of a car when it is not running. a tow truck had to be called to take it to the for garage. the ford garage kept it over night in order to get a part for it, the part was replaced and the car worked for approximately two weeks and the same even occurred. *tr

Raining: the highest speed setting was not fast enough to clear the windshield i was driving on the highway, city and had to pull over due to the high speed for the wiper is no different then being on low speed. very dangerous. definitely not enough to clear the windshield in moderate rain let alone when heavy rain will come. front end: every time you turn the steering wheel i get a clunking noise and you can feel it in the gas pedal. this has been a ongoing problem. *tr
