Car over heating engine and collant system affected

After the car has been driven for awhile then the engine is turned off for 10 to 20 minutes, when i restart the engine it will (within 30 seconds) begin to run rough and quit. it has done this now more than 50 times. i have taken it to the dealer 4 times, but they have not fixed the problem. since i had to give a specific date on this form below, i picked a date that it happened.

Tl* the contact owned a 2013 ford fusion. while driving 55 mph, the front end of the vehicle caught fire. the engine overheated, shut off, and the engine warning indicator illuminated. the fire department extinguished the fire and a police report was filed. no injuries were sustained. the vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). the failure mileage was 67,000. the vin was unavailable.

Well i noticed problems with my car maybe a month after i got the car took it back to the dealer ship they didnt see any problems but im having transmission problems, problems with the steering, i have had a coolant problem fixed already. the shocks went out on the care within less than a year. having problems with the fueling system. also having problems with the left light system. they have only to recalls with my vin number of things that i had already gotten fixed. so im really concerned about the issues that are going on with my car and feel that it really need to be addressed. every thing that has happend is while the car is in motion.

My 2013 fusion stalls out in park, reverse. when i start driving it cuts off at 20-30 mph. worried about causing an accident. took my car to get diagnose on 9/30/16. it was a fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail and replaced it. didn't clear code. took it back on 11/10/16 to get re-diagnosed. found that it was a purge valve that they replaced for free. 11/11/16 at 5:30pm i arrive home from work. 1 hr later my wife was going somewhere and it stalled out. thank god it happened in our apartment complex. this issues is dagerous when driving on the the road. i'm taking it back 11/12/2016. lets see whats they tell my..ford, please help us with this issue. this is the only car i have...

My car cuts off while driving with a shaking . this has happened several times over the last few weeks. this happens whether i am backing out or driving at different speeds.

I was driving my 2013 ford fusion, 1.6l ecoboost to work when i noticed the engine started overheating while i was driving up a hill. i saw smoke coming from the engine and pulled over. as i did this, someone driving by said they saw flames coming from under my car. i immediately pulled the car onto some pavement and got out to check. i saw flames dripping from the oil reservoir. i grabbed my backpack and started running up the hill to my office, which was only about 100 yards away, to get a fire extinguisher. as i started running, i heard a loud woosh sound and saw that the entire front of the car had burst into flames. less than a minute after i had gotten out of the car. the flames were about 15 feet high and luckily didn't ignite the dry, grassy hillside. the fire department came after about 20 minutes and put out the fire.

On multiple occasions my car hesitated and stalled, usually when just taking off or pulling out into intersections. it has never done this while sitting at idle and only once while driving highway speed. sometimes the check engine light does not come on and sometimes it comes on and then goes right back off. my mechanic could not pull a code after this happens.

We have a 2013 ford fusion and while driving car making a right turn the passenger rear door flew open luckily our child was sitting away from the door and we were on our driveway turning on a small highway. the door latch is not allowing door to stay shut. upon research we found there is a recall on door latch of 2013 ford fusion manufactured at hermosillo plant and during certain dates in 2012. we taped our door shut and went to dealership they stated that our vehicle is not part of this recall. i informed them that our car was manufactured in hermosillo plant in 2013 and it fits the recall description. however they would not pay for it even though it is a recall. they want us to put up the 400.00 to pay for it when their company has a recall on door latches. we had another issue with the coolant and again they had a recall on the coolant system as well but our car is not part of the recall although again it fit the recall description to a t. we paid to have that fixed but this is ridiculous that we have to pay out of our own pocket on a recall the company should be responsible for fixing. we don't have 400.00 to fork out and we need it fixed as we have 3 children that we take to school everyday and we are struggling to find out where we can get the money to fix this problem when we feel it should be ford to fix it.

I need to get my engine coolant temperature sensor, coolant bypass valve, and connectors replaced due to overheating. i feel this matches the dec 2012 recall of overheating. harold zeigler ford is trying to charge me $765 for this repair in which i feel matches the recall.

We have had our 2103 fusion now for 2 months. 1 week after having the car it began to make a humming noise around the gas tank area, then when you slowed down for a red light the car would stall and be hard to start back. sent the car back to the dealership to only be told they couldn't find anything wrong. once we received the car back we drove it for a couple of days and the car started making the noise again and would stall again. called dealership and took car back again still nothing. received car back and began to notice when we was fueling the car that the rpm gauge would go up and down and then the vehicle would quit and be very hard to start back. while driving the vehicle about 3 weeks ago it stalled again and would not start back, finally after about 30 mins of trying the car started. sent car back to dealership again and they have had the car 3 weeks and they are saying they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. i asked if they had put fuel in it like i advised they proceeded to tell me no. i advised them when they did to let me know what the car did. we no longer feel safe driving the car. i believe we either have a fuel pump issue or the vehicle is pulling air in from the fueling system and is causing it to air lock. the vehicle has quit about 12-15 times in the 2 months we have had it

The test drive on my ford went smoothly. however, later that month my vehicle began shifting hard. it revs and the engine pulls. i have to barely accelerate to get it to shift even then it shifts extremely hard. i informed the local ford dealership of the issue and i was told that all of the 1.6 ecoboost models like mines shift hard. that is ridiculous. this issue was never fixed. i also experienced another issue: my gas tank door did not operate correctly. it felt like a spring came out because the door would blow open while i am driving.

I was driving my vehicle for about 5 minutes when the engine overheating signal came on. it said "reduced engine power" and my vehicle started driving extremely slow. i pulled over, checked the coolant and everything looked fine. i waited 2 hours and turned the car on. the light was no longer on. however, i still informed the ford dealership about the issue while it was under warranty. they said that they did not find anything wrong with the vehicle. another time i drove about an hour and my engine overheating light came on again. i checked the coolant and it was at a correct level. the car stalled out and would not accelerate. i had aaa tow it to my home. i contacted the ford dealership again and they had it towed in. they repaired the cooling system, fuel injector pressure and coolant bypass valve solenoid. they also replaced the flp sensor. i was charged $702.28. it is truly saddening how the car had to be broken down in order for them to fix it. but when it was under warranty they didn't touch it. now there's a recall on the cooling system, 16s09. every day i smell some sort of fuel under my hood, fuming up my garage and coming through my vehicle ac vents when it's on. it makes me feel like my car is going to catch on fire because the smell is so strong. my check engine light came on too with cylinder issues. coolant leaked into the cylinder head. i would like to be reimbursed for the engine repairs and for my vehicle to be fixed free of charge.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving 35 mph, the engine overheating warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the contact was aware of nhtsa campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling), but the vin was not included. the failure mileage was 69,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed antifreeze on the ground. the dealer diagnosed that the water pump needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 120,000.

The air conditioning compressor clutch fell off the vehicle while driving. the bolt retaining the clutch assembly sheared off resulting in the clutch assembly separating from the compressor pulley.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. the contact stated that while getting an oil change on the vehicle, the contact was informed by the technician that the vehicles engine had been leaking fluid. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 45,000.

Numerous problems with this car but most recently and the most concerning is the frequent stalling at random times . the car will just go dead . sometimes a warning in display says run active power, sometimes the check engine light comes on . when it stalls randomly it loses power and bucks a little then stalls . when driving on highway there is a terrible vibration coming from front of the car as the stalling problem gets worse it also goes into "limp mode" on highway . the car has been serviced for many weird problems such as when i was in fla in dec and the heat came on full blast and temperature gauge said it was minus 21 degree's . it had problem with wipers , turn signals and headlights not working. i can't count how many modules have been replaced. i live in the mountains and it is very scary to be driving and not know when your car will stall . the car is at dealer yet again and it was very unsettling to discover that the dealership didn't think it was a big deal that your nearly new vehicle is stalling frequently . which made my gut say there could be some sort of cover up. because you literally can not trust anyone any more . i could see a class action lawsuit in the making. but while government stalls and stalls people are being killed in these cars . i have on video my car stalling . i told my family if i die in a crash today check my phone for the video's of car stalling and sue the hell out of ford!!! updated 10/19/2017*js *bf...video available

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving approximately 65 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle overheated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the coolant bypass valve would need to be replaced. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v551000 (engine and engine cooling). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 106,900.

yellow wrench light keep coming on while driving only down the highway at 65 to 70 mph, it also intermittent therefore the dealer cannot ever find problem codes. the codes erase when you turn off the car. i lose half of engine power and no other controls work such as cruise control and manual shifting paddle shifting. i was also told that it was my : "pcm" that is giving me the trouble. also the electric fan is running at full speed blowing out cold air, plus the smell of burning plastic. also when the car is started and running for about 7 to 10 minutes, i turn on the heater at 73 degrees and it is warm. then after turning on the heater and now leaving for work, i accelerate to get onto the freeway and soon noticed that the heater is now blowing cold air and i then turn the heater up higher to 77 then the same warmth come out then that goes away til i turn the heater way up to 83 degrees. this has never happened before, i had the coolant and oil replaced and it is still doing the same thing. i get two warnings showing the yellow wrench, "power reduced to cool down engine" and "engine overheat" the sunnyvale ford dealer charged me $200.00 dollars to see what was wrong with my car and said they have found nothing. but this problem only happens on the freeway driving at 65 to 75 mph. our freeways speed limits are high on interstates 5. i do see older ford tempo's going 80 mph and passing me while i cannot go faster to get out of the way of others. quite insulting to me while i spend out of pocket and ford says nothing and i get back a broken car that works sometimes. the extended warranties i pay for does not cover anything so i'm paying for a car that is soon to fail and leave me stranded at the same time i have to pay for it. ford continue to say my car ...

Engine running hot engine reduce power to lower temps. this vehicle is one of the 2013 ford fusion 1.6 liter engine. vin # [xxx] nhtsa recall # 12v551000 ford recall # 12s41 this vin # has the eighth letter "r" as a safety recall issued by ford motor company by [xxx] on november 30, 2012. my vehicle was manufactured during this time of the effected vehicles. ford is denying my claim with this engine they claim my vehicle left the mfg on 12/17/2012. 17 days after the recall was announced. but they cannot produce any documentation that my vehicle was recalled at the mfg prior to shipping to the dealer and this recall fixed. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I purchased this vehicle new delivered to the dealership from another location with just under 200 miles on the odometer. i noticed my first issue when the motor would stall going at a low rate of speed 15-20mph through a parking lot at about 22,000 miles on the odometer and also would hesitate to start. i only assumed it was bad fuel being such a new vehicle. this happened periodicaly up untile the engine gave an over temprature coolant display killing all but idle power to the ingine making the car undrivable. thus i had the car towed to the dealership at excactly january 3, 2016 with 64,056 on the odometer. i had then noticed recalls for this particular motor in fords fusions and escapes with this particular size engine. after the recalls repairs were completed for my vehicle i still experienced engine stalls, but less frequent throughout this period and rough idle at initial start of the engine more frequently as time passed. the over temprature coolant message came on again, at 87,000 give or take ( again towed to dealership so they will have reported milage). i was informed that numerous repairs had to be made and are not covered under any recalls although i feel this vehicle more than meets the criteria for numerous recalls. i have had this vehicle checked for coolant leaks from another certified shop and no hoses have been found to have any leaks.

Takata recall. car died three times in the past 2 months while i was driving it. the first 2 times in less than one minute of starting car and putting into gear. the third time was after i had been driving for some time and pulled away from bank teller window. brought to dealer in january for another recall and they couldn't find any indication of problem in history for stalling problem (that was after first time it died). am taking car in for car latch recall and will have them check again regarding the second and third incidents.

I have noted the electronic throttle body (etb) malfunction affecting ford fusion 2009-2013 models with 2.5/3.0l engines and the related nhtsa investigation pe 13-003, along with ford's customer satisfaction program 13n03. i have also noted the power loss issue described in another 2013 ford fusion owner's experience (nhtsa complaint id #10810590. both seem to be related to the problem i am now having with my 2013 ford fusion se, which is the ecoboost model with the 1.6l turbo charged engine. after getting an obd warning along with rough engine operation and lower-than-expected fuel efficiency, the dealership replaced the canister purge valve and noted that the oil minder would not reset. that repair was performed under warranty during thanksgiving weekend 2015. soon after, on december 6th, the car experienced power loss on two occasions upon leaving parking lots; in other words, the failure occurred at low speed within a minute of driving away from the parking space. the engine sputtered (ran roughly) then lost power, with no warning lights appearing on the instrument panel. the same problem occurred again a few days before christmas, with that occurrence also taking place upon leaving a parking lot. furthermore, it happened again on dec. 29th and on january 2, 2016, with the latter time occurring immediately turning onto nolensville road from a parking lot. with all of those instances happening in nashville, tn, cold weather was not a factor. engine temperature was not at a factor as the car's most recent failures have occurred with the engine still warm. since this problem began after the aforementioned canister purge valve replacement, i am going to have the dealership revisit that work and determine the reason why i am not seeing a warning light when this dangerous situation occurs. i will also have the car evaluated for the aforementioned etb problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle did restart. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

Sudden power loss, my wife was driving her 2013 fusion changing freeways and the car lost power, slowed to a crawl, no acceleration. very dangerous. had it towed to the dealer. they said they couldn't find a problem, my wife told them they better find the problem, she was scared to drive it. they kept it a little longer said they changed out some module but insisted nothing was showing bad. so she picked it up and about a week later she was going down the freeway and her waze app told her to get off the freeway there was an accident up ahead, so as she is getting off the car did the same thing, sudden power loss. this time she was off crenshaw in la, not a good part of cali. she was more frightened that time. we had it towed to a different ford dealer. same thing they said they drove the car 312 miles and no issue. i told them i am not picking up the car. i called ford they opened a case which really means nothing. no one this whole time has mentioned the thousands of ownersr having the same issue. so now i have left the service mgr a msg that i found out about the etb and i want it replaced. we will see if they cover it. supposedly there is a fix order and the warranty is 10 years and 130k on the throttle body. we shall see. this problem will kill someone it's just a matter of time. imagine making a left turn and a semi is coming, and your car dies.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. the contact stated that the engine overheated and leaked fluid into the wires causing the vehicle to shut off. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 72,000.

First problem with the car was having problems with first starting it in the morning with it acting as if it wasnt getting gas until i stepped on the accelerator while in park, dealership claimed it was a cracked water pump. then the check engine light came on while driving, they replaced head gasket and intake gasket due to the code from the check engine light. then the car stopped accelerating on the interstate and when i pulled over and turned it off it made loud cracking noises and wouldnt start. dealership says a piece underneath the water pump fell off they believe it was defective because the bolt was half the size it was suppose to be and ruined the engine. first problems started in may until most recent one in sept.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. also, the vehicle overheated and the transmission shift cable detached while it was in park. the failures occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to four seasons ford (601 duncan hill rd, hendersonville, nc) on various occasions; however, the dealer only diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failures recurred. the contact was informed that he would be charged for any additional repairs since the vin was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and did not assist since the vehicle was not included in a recall. the contact was also referred to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 185,000.

Today my brake pedal went down to the floor . when i started my vehicle . the abs light came on. no hill side start.. service advance traction. i have replaced all . brake pads, shocks ,and had rotor worked on. abs has gotten worst. i took my car to the nearest ford shop. i asked them to check it out and replace my abs sensor.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart after a few attempts. the failure recurred twice. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure was undetermined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving at any speed, the vehicle overheated and shut off. the vehicle was pushed to the side of the road and restarted. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a leak in the cooling system. the cooling system was cleaned and the water pump was replaced, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the battery was replaced, but the failure recurred and the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer. the technician replaced the coolant valve and reprogrammed the computer system. a few months later, the engine vibrated when the air conditioner was activated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the air conditioning compressor was replaced. the failure recurred and the check engine indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the technician replaced the solenoid, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the contact later received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v209000 (engine and engine cooling). the failure mileage was 17,000. vin tool confirms parts not available. ...updated 07/20/17 *bf updated 9/28/18*jb

This is a case of multiple incidents, first incident with significant issue was on 12/11/2014. as i was pulling out of my driveway and reversing across two lanes of traffic, my car turned off and said "press brake to start" (i have the push-start-ignition). the car turned off as i was revering across the street, i had to put the car in park in order to restart the car. i restarted the car and drove it to the dealership, which they have never heard of this issue and said they could not get me in for an appointment until 12/15. on 12/14/2014, as i was driving down the road at ~25mph, my car started to act like it was going to quit, before i could pull off to the side of the road, the car turned off and said "press brake to start" i was able to get the car to the side of the road, as i did i put the car in park and tried to restart the car and it just kept rolling over and i had to push the start button to get it to stop, as i did, the brakes and steering wheel locked and i had to have the car towed to the dealership. the dealership had the car for 3 days, could not find an issue. i filed a complaint with ford and they have closed my case saying there is not an issue. it is now at a 2nd dealership where they can not find an issue. i have been told by ford to continue driving my car until the issue happens again, which is a major concern for my personal and others safety as i am driving down the road. when the car quits, i have hardly any control over the vehicle and luckily i have been going at slow pace, but i do not feel safe driving this car and feel like ford has given up on me. this car has been nothing but problems since i've had it with 9 recalls and now this issue, i am concerned that i am not the only person having this issue and would like to have the problem addressed before someone is in a serious accident. *js updated 2/11/16 *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while driving 50 mph and releasing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stalled without warning. in addition, when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the computer software needed to be updated. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 26,757.

I was driving sw bound on hwy 20 in loganville, ga when my car surged and powered off at 50 mph 'the vehicle turned off on a very busy road. i just bought this car last year. this is the second time this has happened this first time it happened ford replaced my entire steering column. i had zero steering capability, the engine was off and unresponsive and all of my electronic panels went dark except for a message saying "transmission is not in park" and the engine warning light (yellow) came on. i was able to hit the hazard lights and barely inch to the right side on the highway. there was a truck behind me that had to make an evasive lange change maneuver to the left in order to avoid collision. once i came to a stop i immediately turned my video camera on my phone and started documenting what was happening in the vehicle. i have this video readily available for you if you need it to further your investigation. *tr

I purchased my fusion in 2014 with less than 2500 miles. i had taken it home for a test drive over the weekend. i had it for less that 12 hours and the check engine light came on. returned it monday , the catalytic converter needed to be replaced at less than 2500 miles. about a year and a half later check engine light came on same problem ; replaced again. two years after that with only 38,000 miles same problem catalytic converted needed to be replaced again. the car has less than 50,000 miles and 3 times catalytic converter needed replaced.

2013 ford fusion se 2.0lt ecoboost engine - bought march 2014 about 33,000 miles. my issues started around the end of may 2014. 1. when coming to an idle my car always acts like it is going to stall. it idles really hard and the rpms always jump real low. there are never any warning lights/messages that appear. 2. extremely poor gas mileage - this is a 4 cylinder and an ecoboost that should be getting a hell of a lot better gas mileage - city and highway! my 2012 fusion v6 had wayyyy better mpg. i have read in forums about both of these 2 issues and found related problems. ford wanted $180.00 just to 'look' at my driveability. just to plug my car computer into their scanner. there are no recalls on this for my specific car even though i am finding a lot of the same issues as some recalls on other model fusions. i should not have to pay for this to be fixed, this is fault of ford. 3. my a/c system stopped blowing cold air at 36,816 miles!!! still no warnings active and ford wants $120.00 just to 'look' at it - and charge me more to fix any issues it has. while reading some forums i have noticed several recalls/same issues for this and some say that the a/c pipe is faulty and leaks. but my specific car does not have those recalls so ford will not fix issue. and again, i should not have to pay for faulty parts! disgusted!!!!! please correct the recalls so i can drive safely. *tr

Purchased vehicle new in feb 2013. has shut down 4 times while in motion. 3 were in town at slow speeds first time was around summertime the first or second year, but the last was 12/24/2015 on the interstate running a steady 75 mph in the inside lane in very heavy traffic. only by the grace of god was i able to maneuver it to the shoulder without getting run over! each time the dash goes black and engine (and power steering/brakes) shuts of. there were no warning lights before or after the shut down. only thing still working was the radio. (it normally plays until you open the door anyway) each time it started right up after stopping. has been in for repair 3 times. no fault codes present and service tech "could not replicate the problem", so nothing has been done, other than the numerous recalls that have been issued. i no longer feel safe in this car!!! i have contacted ford customer satisfaction center and registered a complaint with them.their response was to take it to another ford dealer for a second opinion. that is very inconvenient due to the next dealer being 2 hours away and they would need to keep the car for a day or two to try to "replicate the problem". it is very sporadic. it could be six months before it does it again. a very dissatisfied customer!!!

While driving north on i-25 with cruise control set at 75mph, suddenly the vehicle stop forward acceleration and instantly began decreasing speed. immediately, i stepped on the accelerator to no available power. the engine refused to communication with the accelerator as the rpm would just increase but no actual power was given to the vehicle. i tried multiple times to get the vehicle to respond but eventually had to pull over because no power was available. even after somehow avoid 3 lanes of constant traffic, i attempted to start driving again without shutting the vehicle down. during this point all that would still happen was the vehicle would rev the rpm's, but not propulsion was available. i had to shutdown the car completely on the highway shoulder in order to get the car to respond to any time of gas demands. i have heard about the throttle body issue many customers have been experiencing and believe i have the same issue. this is a huge safety concern because losing power while in cruise control at 75mph can lead to catastrophic results. i believe that this needs to be looked into because it causes immediate panic from the driver as they attempt to drive safely out of the traffic. this is the second time this has happened to me in this vehicle. the first time, ford mechanics blamed the problem on the recalled fuel pump and replaced it. since clearly that was not the remedy to this problem, i believe that more investigation should be done to understand the full scope of the immediate loss of power that myself and many other have experienced. *tr

(takata recall) i hereby state that i was in a motor vehicle accident with this vehicle with no fault of my own. at the time of the accident 03/15/2014 this vehicle should have been totaled out but was not done so.the airbags did not deploy with the way and the impact that i was hit by other party. i than took this vehicle numerous of times to hasting ford in greenville nc where they was suppose to have researched and properly checked and fixed everything detailed. i am yet to this day still having problems with this vehicle shifting gears caused by accident, body is coming apart, camara is not working and i am still suffering from the bodily injuries of my hip being shifted from accident. i am seeking legal attorneys at this time due to i feel that ford could have taken better care and replaced this vehicle knowingly that this vehicle is not safe to me the custom. at this point i do feel that ford should be responsible for any suffering and vehicle experience that i am enduring at this time. i would like to say thank you for your moral support. i was traveling down the main highway when another vehicle came from a side road driving 60 mph without breaking speed crashing into my 2013 ford fusion.the accident occurred in wake county nc. around 12:45 p.m. *tr

While driving at slow speeds (0-10 mph) the vehicle accelerates on its own. sometimes when pressing the accelerator the vehicle doesn't respond, causing me to have to further press the accelerator, and when the vehicle suddenly responds, it rapidly accelerates. *tr

I was driving my 2013 1.6 liter ford fusion on 10/23/2013 and the engine overheated. my vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. i looked up my vin number on ford because after this all happened i heard about fusions being recalled for this same problem. according to ford my vin number my was not under the recalled ford fusions that had the overheating problem. the dealership said that the coolant had leaked into the engine and had caused it to overheat. this sounds exactly like the recall to me. i had no idea about the recall until after this happen to me so i didn't get out of my car. my car could of had an engine fire like some of the recalled ones have had. i am very upset with ford. i believe that they still have a problem and more fusions need to be recalled. it is sad that ford is selling these cars to people and they could still be unsafe. *tr

I was driving to an appointment, and ran late because of the failure. i stopped at a stoplight, and tried to take off, but then the car went into "limp home" mode. i hobbled the car across the intersection, and then began to use my obd ii code reader that i purchased for a different vehicle, and read the code. it was p2011, and cleared it the car ran fine for a while, but the problem was still there. i went to the ford dealership the next day, purchased the new "updated" throttle body. i got it over to my uncle's shop, were i replaced the old throttle body with the new one. i have been driving with the new throttle body, and have not had any problems since. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled unexpectedly. the failure was sporadically recurring. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 9,700. the current mileage was 12,999.

While cruising at about 45mph the car suddenly decelerated, the orange wrench light came on, and the car would not accelerate. while idling, the engine was shaking abnormally. this is the third time this has occurred, once at 40mph cruising, and once at about 65mph accelerating. all three incidents have happened about 200 miles apart. all three times i was (barely) able to pull over and restart the vehicle. each time the car took longer than usual to turn over. previous to this, there were several incidents when downshifting from overdrive into a passing gear. when the car shifted down, the transmission would thump and shift abnormally hard. the orange wrench light would then come on. i could still accelerate but i would have the same "hard" shift every time i accelerated fast enough to for the automatic transmission to switch into a passing gear. when slowing down to a stop, the car would surge forward each time it down shifted. after a restart the problem was temporarily remedied, until i tried to accelerate while in overdrive again. *tr

The transmissions shutters at all speeds. the car stalls on red lights. the car stalls going around curves. the car stalls going both up and down hills. ford put out and "extended warrant" but does not have the parts to fix the problem. we have talked to two different dealers and a regional manager for ford, but nothing is getting done.

This incident occurred at the beginning of summer.the engine idle does not advance when the airconditioner is placed in service. while stopped in the driveway or at stop signs or red lightes. engine idles very rough....you can feel it in the steering wheel and the gearshift and the floor pan. have complained to ford and the local ford dealership and have been told this is normal,or there is no code to tell the smart techies what to look for.a 25000 dollar car that idles like a model t.i am very disappointed in ford for not at least trying to correct this problem.turn the air off...engine vibration goes away.i just wondered if anyone else out there in ford land has this problem.last visit to ford dealership was 7-25-13. no joy. *tr
