At 50,000 miles the left front inside door handle failed to open the door. the car has been very well maintained and has never been in an accident. inability to open the door from inside the vehicle could create a very serious safety issue in the event that the vehicle was submerged and the power windows were no longer operational. i first noticed this door handle failure while parked on a city street. the ford part # is 1 60foz04.
Hood latch has broken after 40k miles causing the hood to open on its own while driving.
I was driving my 2012 ford fusion home from work and was stopped at a stop light. when i resumed driving when the light turned green, my power steering suddenly malfunctioned while driving and i was no longer able to turn the vehicle causing me to crash into a pole. there was no warning, just total power steering failure while driving. it is extremely dangerous, and ford has recalled half a million vehicles for the same issue, but for some reason my model wasn't included. it makes driving terrifying.
I was driving about 25 miles an hour when the driver side door opened. i could not close it from the inside. i had to stop realized it would close and open from the outside. i went to the ford dealer and had the latch replaced for $209.87

The drivers side inside door handle broke.this was inside the door.this would not let me lock the door .while traveling the door would not lock and it came open.this is the same problem that other ford vehicles are being recalled now.i reported the problem to you 06,2015.i reced. no reply from you and ford made me pay for the repair.this was a safety issue for me.in may,2016 the exact same problem happened again with the passenger side door.i complained to ford and they covered the repair for this door only.i do not understand why the fusion is not covered like the other fords that are being recalled for the same problem!

I own a ford fusion 2012 with about 95,000 miles on it. no other issues since its purchase in november 2014. weeks ago i started the car, and the powersteering assist message came on, could not move car. steering locked. read the manual for car. turned car off and back on. problem went away. i thought it might be the cold weather or ice blocking a sensor. however intermittently this has happened again and again and sometimes takes several tries of on/off to get the car to become drivable. also now it sometimes says advancetrac service and the drivers side door will not open so i, a tall person, need to try to climb over the seat and get out on the passenger side into traffic. having ones car not start up in a city such as mine is dangerous for single women at night who might be alone. so far this power steering lock hasn't happened while driving like many of the other hundreds of posts about the advancetrac problems, but i am scared that this will happen to me and that i could get into an accident. i am a student and do not have thousands of dollars to repair this vehicle if the issue will just keep happening again and cost me more thousands of dollars. the closet ford dealer to me is in latham, ny and they do not answer their phone. i feel very unsafe in this vehicle that i need to drive on a daily basis. i believe that ford should have a recall of these unsafe cars. *tr
While driving my 2012 ford fusion my power steering went out causing me to lose control of the vehicle while i was turning causing me to side swipe my door against a pole. *tr
Driving power steering service light came on steering became hard couldn't turn wheel hit a snow mound damaged front bumper. *tr
Recently i had to take my car in for repairs, the inside driver's side door handle ceased to open. we purchased the extended warranty, but were told by the ford service department that this was considered to be a cosmetic repair and was not covered. i have had 2 ford fusions a 2008 and this 2012. both cars had the inside drivers door handle break. i do not use excessive force to open the door. i have checked on the internet and found this is a common problem for these cars. i don't see how this can be a cosmetic issue, when it is clearly a faulty piece of equipment. also it could be very dangerous if i were in an accident before i could get the handle fixed, as there would be no way to exit the vehicle from the driver's door. i feel this model car should be recalled for faulty dangerous door handle failure. *tr
After stopping vehicle, drivers door would not unlock. *tr
Interior door handle broke. i was just opening my door to get out and it just quit opening and not engaging. i have to roll my window down to open my door to get out of the car every-time. i heard that this was part of a recall but when i call the ford dealer here in town they said that there is no recall on this problem but i did here that there was a recall on this problem and on this model car on the news recently. the dealer at patchetts ford in turlock, ca said i needed a recall number. please if i can get some help with this issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fusion. the contact stated that the driver side internal door handle failed to open the door. as a result, the contact had to roll the window down and open the door using the exterior door handle. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000. the vin was unavailable.

This particular automobile has a factory installed rear deck lid wing. it is secured to the deck lid using four bolts through the skin of the deck lid. the bolts are each bonded into a plastic plug, and each plug is then bonded into the plastic structure of the wing. the car was parked at the time of the incident with an open rear deck lid. when the rear deck lid was closed, the bolts securing the end of the wing at the driver's side separated from their plastic inserts, resulting in that end of the wing being no longer secured. had this incident occurred when the car was at speed, the result may have been complete separation of the wing from the car. anyone traveling behind the car with this occurring would certainly attempt evasive action, with the potential for having or causing an accident. ford has many vehicles on the road with this wing configuration, and this design method for securing their wings to their cars requires nhtsa investigation. *tr
All 4 center caps/hub caps were loose and 2 fell off while i was cleaning the tires. ford dealership replaced all 4 plastic center caps. part number 9e5z 1130a. *tr
Left license plate light socket screw would not tighten. when closing the truck, the lamp assembly would hang down a little on left side. i tightened the screw and found it to be stripped. took vehicle to ford dealership. ford replaced the license plate lamp assembly. *tr
I was wearing my seat belt hit head on driver front by another driver going approx 45mph, clear conditions. collision forced off road and i hit parked suv with my front passenger front. no airbag deployment occurred during either hit, self belt did not lock, i was forced upward hitting my head on inside roof handle above driver door, then thrown forward hitting my chin on steering wheel. i was knock unconscious for 3-4 minutes, fractured front tooth, dislocated jaw, suffered optic nerve injury, concussion, back and neck injuries. i was transported to the hospital. the initial body shop report did indicate the air bag modules had to replaced. the vehicle was totaled after it was determined the repairs cost more than the vehicle was worth. damage include entire front end, hood, broken, windshield, radiator, engine, underbody, driver door, rear door rear bumper and roof. air bags were still intact. pictures were taken at accident scene, towing facility and at salvage yard. i still suffer from the injuries and am currently on ssi unable to work. *tr
The driver's side inside door handle has broken twice and cut my finger twice in less than 36,000 miles of driving the vehicle. i can only barely open the door now. i bought the car new. the door handle plastic is too weak to open the door and when it flexes the chrome plating splits open and cuts the driver's fingers when attempting to open the door. the door is an emergency exit. the door handle should never break in the lifetime of the car. the external door handles are all plastic as well and could also easily break. don't call. i won't get any messages. *tr
