We have classified the 258 complaints from 2010 Ford Fusion about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
Computer controlling throttle shuts engine off at highway speeds. no power to control vehicle.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while the vehicle was parked, the center console where the gear shifter was located caught fire. the contact poured water on the flames, which caused the fire to slightly diminish. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that something external caused the fire. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. there were no reports filed. the approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Last year i had the throttle body recalibrate and cleaned. after receiving the extended warranty, ford replaced the part at no cost. it has been not even a year yet and my car is experiencing the same problems. i was at a stop light and my vehicle stalled our and the wrench light came on as well as some other lights. the light turned green and from what i remember from the other 1000 posts, they said to turn the car off and restart it. that's exactly what i did. it obviously occurred a few more times as well. i took it to the dealer and my bill was 1,000 dollars. they changed a purge valve which was stuck open. therefore, allowing the gas to flow directly to the canister. they also mentioned how dirty the engine was and recommended that i get a flush done on the vehicle. i declined because i knew that carbon was coming from the throttle body. anyways, the vehicle is very unstable and unsafe. when i step on the gas pedal, it takes a good 7 seconds to accelerate and therefore possibly causing a crash, especially trying to merge on the parkway. i went through this a year ago and ever since spent over 6,000 dollars in repairs. not to mention the motor mounts which break pretty often. it looks as though the transmission is going to jump out of the vehicle. i called ford and explained that my car was experiencing throttle body issues again and they said that once it's fixed, the warranty is up and i have to pay out of pocket. this is ridiculous! their cars are unsafe. what if i was one of the victims where the car stalled while driving? i know this has happened. please look into this vehicle, it is not a safe car.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the recall notice for the electrical system was received in november of 2015. after contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. the nhtsa campaign number was unknown. the contact had not experienced a failure. updated 05/25/16*lj *tr
While stopped at red light and stop signs attempting to turn, the vehicle would rev itself corresponding with a rapid increase/decrease in rpm. upon acceleration the car would stutter and the engine turned off while allowing me to enter the intersection resulting in very close calls. this has been recurring with more frequency.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 60 mph, the power steering failed and the vehicle jerked. the vehicle was restarted. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 130,000.
Power steering was suddenly lost first time in october of 2015 almost causing me to run into a curb. second time in november of 2015 fiance was driving and the power steering was suddenly lost power steering light came on only giving us about a five minute warning while he was driving and almost ran into another vehicle. a ford dealership wanted to charge me over $2,000 to replace entire electronic gear which was not the problem at all. i took it to another mechanic and he said it was the rack and pinion that has gone bad and is going to cost over $1,000 to get a new rack and pinion. he also said that the loose rack and pinion was causing the powering steering hose to leak.
I had a low tire not flat i was driving down my alleyway slowly and hit a small pot hole on my way to go get it filled with air at the nearest gas station when all of the sudden i lost all power steering and the alarm came on saying power steering failure or something to that matter i am a big fella i was able to man handle the car to the nearest gas station with no power steering with my 1 year old daughter in the back seat. i then filled the tire manhandled the car to her day care then up the street to the closest auto shop. where i dropped it off. and was late to work having my brother come pick me up i was stressed out of my mind because i read how expensive it was to replace luckily the mechanic had a employee who had dealt with it before and was able to pop the steering column out of the jammed sequence it was in and he said he had seen it over and over again. which cost me about 200 bucks alot better than 2000. however after that my car was not the same come to find out my wheel bearing had failed about 6months later and some arm was bent costing me 800 dollars i believe this was due to that issue i had prior i am pissed about this finding out how many of these cars are doing this. i believe that ford should pay to replace their faulty unsafe steering axel and columns. *tr
I was driving on the interstate in the passing lane when my vehicle stopped accelerating. i had no way to give gas to the car. i managed (luckily) to pull over to the breakdown lane. the car was running roughly with no way to give it gas. i shut it off and restarted it successfully and was able to continue. this happened several times over several days. the local parts store checked the codes and it was the p2111 throttle body actuator. i found out also that it was under extended warranty for that part. i made arrangements with the local ford dealer to have it repaired. i do not understand why my life was put in danger with a known very serious defect. why didn't the nhtsa make ford do a recall? an extended warranty just postpones the time that the event will happen. i noticed that there were many people that had reported the same problem.
Heater/ac making a very loud noise when turned on any setting and will not speed up when fan speed is turned up or down.
I was driving down the highway and a red triangle light comes on that says to stop safely. the engine shut off. i had to pull over and turn car off. once i started it back it starts fine but continues to turn off very few miles. this is a major problem and puts my families lives at risk. no lights are on after i turn car back on. this is very serious and can cause my family to die in a car crash. thankfully the hybrid engine still works which lets me slowly pull over but my speeds on the interstate goes from 70 to about 30 really fast and puts us in a very dangerous situation. please help me fix.
While driving (8/8/15) on i-65 at approx. 75mph, the rpm's dropped and there was no response from the throttle pedal. after carefully making our way to the shoulder, it was noticed that charging system and throttle control/transmission indicator lights had turned on. i turned the vehicle off and upon restarting, everything appeared to be working as it should. the above was the second instance of this malfunction. previously (june 2015), while driving in city traffic at approx. 30mph, the rpm's dropped and the throttle pedal became unresponsive. after turning the vehicle off and back on, functionality resumed. over the next 15miles back home, this occurred three more times at speed between 25 ~ 55 mph. at all instances, the throttle control/transmission indicator light turned on, but then turned off after restarting the vehicle.
My 20 year old daughter and two friends were traveling back from the campground heading back to one of the friends house for the night. they had decided to stop by a coffee shop just around the corner from where they were heading. when she went to make the turn from the highway into the parking lot the car lost all power steering. she managed to get the car into a parking space and no one was injured nor was there a wreck. she stated to me that the car was fine no problems at all until she slowed to make the turn into the parking lot that when the power steering went out and a message came up on the dash along with the traction control symbol. there were no warning signs before the problem accrued just happened at the snap of your finger.
I was going down the road at 25 mph and the steering failed. power steering was going in and out, and was mostly out. i had to pay for a new steering gear assembly - despite the fact that there seemed to be many, many, many vehicle recalls for steering on the ford fusion. the dealership and ford was unwilling to pay for the replacement part and labor. i had to pay a total of $1833.57 for the steering, labor, and for the alignment. i am hoping that i will be reimbursed from the dealer for the the parts.
As i was driving about 70mph on the interstate, i lost acceleration. the rpms dropped and i wasn't able to get any response from the gas pedal. luckily, traffic was light and i was able to make my way over to the shoulder and turn the car off. after doing this, the car started back up and i had acceleration again. once i returned home, i looked this up online and found many references to the recall on the electronic throttle body. i only drove it a couple more times while waiting for the part to come in and i stayed in town. the incident occurred one other time in the 6 days it took for my part to be ordered, delivered, and repaired. since ford only wanted to reset the throttle body rather than replace it, i paid for it myself and had my dad do the work. i'm very lucky that the interstate wasn't crowded and that i wasn't in the busy city when this happened.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the power steering failed on the vehicle while the vehicle was in reverse. the power steering warning indicator illuminated. the failure occurred several times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician could not diagnose the failure. the contact mentioned that previously the steering harness and the power steering motor were replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v340000 (steering). the approximate failure mileage was 138,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service vehicle soon warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 59,800.
My power steering is out in my car. it says power asset fault and then it will say service autotrack. i am not the only one i have looked everywhere and there is a lot of people having the same problems that i'm having. it should be recalled. i will tell everyone i know not to get a ford unless this problem gets recalled. i don't have the 2000 to fix my car.
While driving upon acceleration increase of speed and slowing down there is a loud wining sound. when driving the vehicle for 15-20 minutes i can smell fuel inside the car. this is not when filling fuel it's while the car is driven for a length of time each day. the battery goes dead when sitting for one to two weeks. we have purchased 2 batteries in 1 year, had cables and connections cleaned and replaced. there has been messages coming up for "check engine" and the fan is noisy when the air or heat is turned up.
The car dash warning lights started to come on one by one. the warning chimes also kept going off dash lights would fade in and out. the air bags would turn off as well as the abs warning lights would come on. in addition to that the security systems would engage causing the car not to run. i brought car to the dealer and they said it wasn't safe to drive the car. the teach had issues figuring out the problem and said they have never seen before. i was able to find several other owners of the same car and year with the same issue. there is even a you tube video of it happening as well as comments from others with the same issue. the tech had to get ford engineers involved who also had issues figuring out the problem. it took six weeks! i do not understand if there was others who have had this issue that they have no clue. it cost me 1400 to fix it and where this is a safety issue where air bags as well as security systems effects the car it should be at minimal a bulletin if not a recall. computer was replaced and there was a faulty wire shorting out the system....updated 07/30/15 *bf updated 10/25/2017*cn
I had been driving for about 5 minutes and traveling at about 45 mph when i felt a reduction in power. the vehicle did not respond to movement of the throttle pedal. vehicle speed slowly reduced and we braked to a stop at a junction. the vehicle was running rough. the vehicle had almost zero power when pulling away and i had to pull over to allow following traffic to pass. speed increased slowly over 2 miles of driving to 40mph. lack of power was again experienced at the next stop junction. we arrived home 1 mile later. in my opinion the limp home mode is totally unacceptable. we were lucky that we were on local roads with little traffic around. *tr
For months i have been resetting my cars "power steering assist fault" by turning my car off and turning it back on and the power steering would suddenly work again. last night my car took a couple turns on and off for it to work which is the first time it took more than once to reset. today after church i turned my car on and off 10 times and it still wouldn't reset so i was forced to drive my car home with no power steering, thinking about the fact that if a car served or a kid ran out in front of me, i wouldn't be able to swerve to avoid them. besides the fact that i can't drive my car to get to and from work this way, i don't have 1500 dollars to fix a problem that should be recalled in my 2010 ford fusion as well as the 2011-2012 years. this problem is obviously a result of faulty equipment used in manufacturing and not because of the driver.
2010 ford fusion sel. 2010 ford fusion sel. at approximately 50,000 miles i experienced a driver heated seat failure while in a cold climate below 40 degrees, heater element got really hot to the point where it was uncomfortable and burning skin on back and seat then a complete failure of heating element on driver side it seems to have shorted out as the heat control button on dash only stays lit for about three seconds and then goes out, this is a serious defect that could possibly cause a fire inside the seat / seats burning the vehicle (and occupants) inside thereby causing property damage injury or death if it catches on fire and occupant / occupants are sleeping in vehicle. after some research i found out this common in ford fusions and has not been recalled by ford motor company.
Noticed on way home that the right rear turn signal was blinking faster than usual. having had the light bulb replaced under warranty at the dealer less than 2 years ago, i thought this was rather soon for the bulb to have burnt out twice now on a 4.5 year old car. went through the steps to get to the light, noticed a severe burn mark around the bulb and housing, and am unable to remove the bulb from the housing at all. it is quite obvious that combustion has occurred around the light bulb as there are burn marks. i believe from a quick glance that ford knows of this safety issue and is ignoring it. i believe there could be fires caused by this defect that is widely reported by searching for ford brake light melted on any search engine. *tr
The blind spot information system (blis) and cross traffic alert (cta) have stop working. this a safety system. although it is not standard equipment, i did not order the car with this. i would not be complaining if it was not for the other problems i have had with the vehicle. i have found out this can be very expensive to fix. somewhere around a thousand dollars for parts, not counting the service charge. i read online where other owners of ford vehicles have the same problem. it is also something that you become to rely on. if ford is going to put them of there vehicles, than they should be reliable. *tr
My car started saying power steering warning message ,and the wheel very hard to turn , i went to the dealer ship , where i purchase , he told me he couldn't do nothing , i just purchase my fusion 2010 ford four months ago . *tr
When trying to turn the steering wheel when starting from a stopped position, the power steering was not working and a service advance track warning came on. if i did not have the physical power to turn the wheel, i could have very easily have hit another vehicle. i took the car in for a car wash, and the power steering came back on about 5-10 miles down the road. it went out and back on intermittantly during the next few months. it totally went out somewhere around the end of march or beginning of april. according to "ford power steering failure reports investigaterd by federal regulators/oregonlive.com" dated october 6, 2014 at 8:46 am "ford says it's cooperating with the investigation and anyone experiencing power steering problems with their vehicles should contact their dealer". may 12, 2015 i took the vehicle to the ford dealer and they pulled codes 100410 - unable to communicate with power steering system. checked for powers and grounds, power and grounds ok. referred to interactive vehicle diagnostic. they found power steering module/rack failure. recommended replacement at a cost of #1647.79. they said it was not on the recall at that time. when the mechanic brought the car forward, he also informed me that models produced six months earlier have the old power steering with the fluid. he said i have the electronic one that the newer models have. i recently checked the recall that ford was having on the fusion. my vin # shows 0 recalls. the fusion recall mentions road salt and other contaminants can cause corrossion and breakage. i live in wisconsin and feel that my car should be included in this recall. my wife hauls kids and has a hard time trying to drive this car. for safety sake, i feel it should be recalled and fixed immediately.
While driving down a highway, my low tire pressure light came on and i could tell it was very low due to my ability to steer. i pulled in a gas station and tried to fill the tire with air, but it was blown out on the inside wall and remained flat. i put the spare tire on and when i began to pull away, i realized i had no power steering. warning lights came on in succession for low tire pressure (still?), service power steering and service advancetrac. i was about 40 miles from home and had to drive in slow lanes as steering was very difficult. i read some message boards regarding an investigation into this issue, but can't find a common solution that has worked. some say to just turn off and restart, others are saying they spend $1500+. i am worried that i will spend the money and the problem may still exist as it sounds like many have experienced. i have cleaned the battery, disconnected it as some have said also. still the same for now, will have to take it in. *tr
I was driving home from work last night and my car shut off. it shook violently and decelerated to a stop. i read online about the 13n09 consumer satisfaction program and since my car is exhibiting the same symptoms i decided to limp into the dealer. it appears that ford has decided to extend the warranty on these defective throttle body parts but for some reason my 2010 ford fusion with a faulty throttle body position sensor is not covered? if it has been determined that the part is defective in the ford fusion then shouldn't all of them be covered? i don't feel that i should have to pay for a faulty part that just happens to also be a safety issue. ford needs to step up and own up to this issue not profit from it. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving at 25 mph and making a left turn, there was a sudden loss of power steering. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
Check engine light first came on 2 weeks ago and car started pulling hard to the right side, while shaking bad! today as i was driving to dealer doing 50mph my service power steering now and advance trac message came on. lost complete steering while on highway with babies in car! dealer will not even look at it without getting paid first. i guess they are waiting for us to get hurt in their vehicle before admitting to their fault! *tr
Shame on you ford! hard working middle class family purchased a 2010 ford fusion for our son to use while he's in college. while driving the car on 1-95 the check engine light came on and also service power steering. the steering wheel locked and the car was impossible to drive luckily it was a week day so we were able to find a ford dealership. well they told us it was a evap pump $340, they reset the power steering sensor and thought they fixed it. few days later the same thing happened again. another mechanic told us it was uneven tire pressure that set the sensors off the car drove for an hour and the sensors went off again.there should be a recall too many people are having this problem. this is horrible ford so many family's rely on your cars for the safety of their family! i will never buy ford again! power steering warning message as the failure occurred again . took the car to another ford dealership and now i was told the front axle has to be replaced $2300. money pit!! this should not be happening to a 2010 car with 48000 miles on it. *tr
There were two events with the electronic throttle cutting off while driving, though, engine did not stall, requiring reset by turning off the ignition then restarting the car. at the time the throttle cutting off there was a yellow wrench indicator light light on my dash. this mimics nhtsa action number: pe13003, however, this action number does not include my vin number.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact stated that the air bag wires failed and caused the air bag warning light to remain illuminated. the dealer performed a diagnostic, which located a failure code that the air bag wires were loose. the dealer adjusted the air bag wires; however, the repair did not correct the failure. the dealer performed a second diagnostic, which located a failure code for which the air bag restraint module needed to be replaced. the restraint module was not replaced. the contact also stated that the heated seat feature failed due to defective seat covers that caused the heating system wires to loosen. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 60,000.
I have had same sterring issue as the 2011 fusions and was told the only recorse was to replace the whole rack. and the rack i put in had the same issue. the recall needs to be extended to every car and year that has that type of unit in it
As i was cresting a hill, the engine briefly seized, the power steering failed, and the advancetrac light came on. everything returned to normal two seconds later, except for the advancetrac light. the light turned off after the next start. multiple times thereafter, when the engine has repeated stops/starts in a short span of time, the advancetrac light comes on and there is a loss of power steering. the power steering returns after idling for a couple of minutes. *tr
Took car in to tropical ford in orlando for driveability recall. they claimed to reprogram the pcm. now on sept. 6 the car is losing power and stalling out. also the wrench icon is showing on the dash which in the manual states the issue is the throttle control/transmission. i will have the car towed back to the dealer sept. 8 to have repaired. i suspect is etb connectivity problem, a lot of similar complaints/recall repairs online. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off. the contact was able to merge the vehicle to the side of the road and restarted the engine. the vehicle resumed normal operation. the contact indicated that during the incident the check engine and service sensor lights illuminated. the dealer replaced a computer, but the failure persisted. later, while driving approximately 60 mph, the speed suddenly decelerated. the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 150,000.
Vehicle broke down last evening, stalled with wrench light and engine light while driving in traffic. was able to safely coast to the side of the road and have vehicle towed to dealership. dealer has diagnosed faulty electronic signal in the throttle body. dealer has offered to replace the throttle body for $397. (note: mafs was replaced in this vehicle in january, 2010, only a couple of weeks after i bought it -- not sure if that is relevant or not.) ford currently has customer satisfaction program #13n03 for extended warranty coverage on throttle bodies for other 2010 fusions, but they informed me that my vehicle was not included in this program. perhaps it would be wise for ford to take a second look to determine if their current customer satisfaction program needs to be expanded? *js
While driving on the highway the accelerator suddenly stopped working and had to pull over in high speeds when my vehicle could not accelerate. was towed and autobody shop found that the car was in "limp mode". engine code p2111 throttle actuator control system (tac) stuck open. diagnosis shows an internal fault with throttle position sensor circuit. *tr
Ford has had a problem with their ac equipment since 2006. they have ignored this problem and have left to owner for repairs. the problem has nothing to do with the ac but with the temperature sensor evaporator. which can either over heat or freeze up behind the dash. it cost most owner a high labor cost for the replacement of this defect that ford is aware of. vehicles involve with this problem are not just the ford fusion but also the lincoln ls as wellas the 2012-2014 fusions. beings that ford knows about the problem, they bare the responsibility to rectify the defect. *tr
For several months the vehicle has been randomly shutting off mid-drive. followed by that the check engine light and a wrench light would light up. a week ago we received letter in the mail from ford saying that our vehicle is eligible for new throttle body since there has been issues since manufactured, which perfectly explained our problem. we took it to ford, where they replaced the throttle body. however, only a week later the car is back to the same throttle body part problem. on saturday, 6/28/14 at around 11:40pm the car turns off mid-drive right before i cross over a major intersection, rt 130 and rt 30 in collingswood, nj area. i quickly braked and turned the engine completely off before i passed the white line. i sat through an entire green and red light. once the light turned green again, i started the car back up and pressed my gas pedal. the car instantly turned off again, where i was now caught in the intersection. there was no momentum, so i very slowly coasted through during the green light, yellow light, and possibly some of the red light. luckily, i made it through the intersection out of harm, but i was at a great risk of getting t-boned by oncoming traffic on a major street such as route 130 especially late at night. obviously, the new throttles do not fix the problem. i no longer feel safe driving this car after this near fatal incident. is ford going to wait until there is fatalities from this manufactured malfunction before they act and recall this make and model? *tr
I was driving at a low speed of approximately 20-25 mph behind a large truck. truck pulled over to let people pass, and when i tried to accelerate, nothing happened and the speed dropped to 5mph and did not respond to accelerator pedal. an "orange wrench, repair needed" indicator light was on as i coasted off road and turned off ignition. waited 10 minutes, restarted car and drove home without incident. there was also another incident that seemed insignificant at the time: about 2 months ago, when accelerating to go up a hill, the car did not respond and crawled extremely slow uphill, but was ok when back on flat ground. recently received letter from ford about a recall repair for problem with throttle body, causing car to lose power, and to bring it in for a calibration upgrade. upgrade is to give slightly more power if you should have problem, but does not correct problem since not all cars will experience loss of power. went to dealer after i had lost power, asking for replacement of throttle body since i had an "incident" as described in recall. they only did a calibration upgrade since they could "not duplicate the problem" at repair shop.computer diagnostics did not record a problem with throttle body. said "no codes in pcm. re-flashed pcm, return to customer". the incident that happened to me was real, and potentially very dangerous. had i been out on the busy highway, it could have been fatal. i feel that if ford knows there is a problem and refuses to correct it when a problem is reported, they are being negligent. i wanted to somehow document what happened to me, since i feel the car is unsafe to drive, and this problem will likely happen again.ford knows about the problem, but if they can't trust what is being reported by a customer, the safety of anyone who owns one of these cars is being compromised. this is a very dangerous issue. *tr
I was driving on the interstate the wrench light came on n the car kinda just got stuck in motion someone almost slammed in the back of me it jerked won't keep gears after i took it to them they said they won't fix it and made it worse and there are recalls on all the stuff that's going wrong with my car and they misdiagnosed what was wrong with it i will n ever purchase from ford again! *tr
I bought my 2010 ford fusion sel v6 with 12000 miles and drive it daily 120 miles/day to work. it has 106,000 miles now. last week, for the third time, the "service power steering now" and "service advancetrac" indicators flashed on while driving 70 mph at night, using cruise control. arrived home safely, next morning, no power steering. drove car to ford dealership, who hooked it up to diagnostic machine, and cleared messages, power steering now functioning again. the second time this occurred the dealership looked at something to do with the wheel on the passenger side. i have not used cruise control with this car since the second episode, nearly a year ago. last week, when the third failure occurred, my friend was driving the car and had activated the cruise control, and i had warned him that i believed there was some relationship factor with using cruise control and the loss of power steering. i drive quite roughly, aggressively, and have hit many bumps with no loss of power steering. during the first and second occurrence the cruise control was activated, a rough spot was encountered, and the "service power steering now -advancetrac" messages came on, with consequential loss of power steering. no mechanical work seems to matter, only effective action is clearing the messages and reestablishing power steering by hooking up to diagnostic machine. i believe it is a software glitch maybe involving a sensor. i am not a mechanic. will the recall/replacement of throttle assembly solve this problem?? ford needs to step up and respond to this problem. *tr
I am a california highway patrol officer. i depend on ford vehicles. my life, literally depends upon it. that being said, i will never own a ford vehicle again. i own a 2010 ford fusion with 93,xxx miles on the odometer. as i was traveling to work, my fusion lost all power, and forced me to the right side shoulder of the highway. this action nearly resulted in a major injury, rear end collision. all this occurred during the hours of darkness, on a major highway, in the greater san francisco bay area. how this problem has not yet required immediate attention by the ford motor company // u.s government, is beyond belief. i purchased a replacement throttle body from an outside retailer, (not a ford factor part) installed it in my garage, and have had no issues as of this posting. how the ford motor company can justify $400 to $500 dollars to replace this problem part, is beyond my understanding. how is this not yet a government recall?? i may be forced to drive ford vehicles in order to do my job, but to reiterate, my family will never again purchase a ford vehicle. every cloud has a silver lining. i am grateful my fusion shut down rather than accelerate. i guess the ford motor company must have learned something from the toyota motor company. now it just takes the useless government morons to force ford motor company to admit to, and fix this obvious problem. *js
As i was pulling out into traffic from the driveway of the grocery store my car seemed as if it stalled as i was driving. it would not move as i pressed the gas pedal. it did not go off. it just would not move. i put my hazard lights on so the approaching cars could go around me. i then turned the car off and restarted it. it seemed to hesitate a bit but then started and i proceeded to go home. this was the scariest thing i have ever experienced. i am just thankful that my kids and i were not hurt. this is the second time this has happened to me. the first incident occurred about 3 to 4 months ago. i did not know about the recall at that time. both incidents occurred without notice and while i was pulling into traffic. *tr
Service advancetrac fault displayed service power steering now displayed then powering steering turned off and then vehicle was very hard to steer epas is now not working dealer stated this was the reason why power steering is off. *tr
Twice in parking lot message appeared -power steering assist fault. at first appeared to be power (battery) related, because the car was in park and when i turned car off then on again message is gone, car was driving fine. - about an hour later, same message appeared and power steering no longer works. turning on and off no longer correcting the problem. this is the second potentially very dangerous problem i have had with this car in the last 6 months. *tr
I was driving the road around 50 mph.,when suddenly my car was idling! i tried to push the gas but the car was no power i gear off to the side of the road. i put the car to park. after i restart my car and seems nothing was wrong with it.i took my car to ford dealer schwabengarage ag stuttgart-vaihingen germany / garage to look what is wrong with it, they didn't see anything wrong with it. so i drove my car again, my boyfriend search the problem and found out that the throttle body is not working right ,but the dealer couldn't see the problem. my boyfriend order the parts anyway because i can feel that my car is going to break down again. i was driving this morning with my two kids when my car lose power again. i turned it off and start again and after 100 meters it did the same again. i was terrified and pray hard that the other car will not hit us. i took my car to aafes / military installation car care with the parts we purchased and replaced the throttle body. i drove my car home today and got home safely. i found out that ford fusion has been having this problem. *tr
