I bought my car from the original owner. i had to buy a re-furbished motor, the tires were splitting and the suspension and air conditioner all needed repairing. when i received the recall from dot, [xxx], i immediately contacted tallahassee ford. they denied there was a recall and i was mistaken. my vin # was listed in the recall. i tried several times but ford kept giving me a run-around and they lied. so now, i have apparently missed a deadline which was not listed on the original notice to me. i am a senior citizen and this has really stressed me out and it really makes me not to purchase another ford from anyone. on ethics alone, i should be able to make them do what they basically refused by lying to me. it was in motion and went to the shop within two weeks after the notice. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I purchased goodyear assurance 215/45r17 tires 03/19/2013 dot m763 julr 3412 for my 2010 ford focus vin# [xxx] at 32,436 miles on the vehicle. at 69,914 miles on 9/29/15, the left rear tire went flat. inspection of the tire reveled side wall separation from the carcass which appears due to dry rot. inspection of the other tires also had signs dry rot. i have retained 2 of the 4 tires for analysis and inspection should your engineering department want for further analysis. i will keep them on hand for 2 months from date of this letter. i filed this complaint due to safety concerns of the tire. side wall separation should not occur with 37,478 miles or within 36 months of purchase. i have 2 of the 4 tires for analysis if required that i will keep on hand for analysis. i will dispose of them after 60 days. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Tuesday july 29 2015 my boyfriend was driving my brand new 2014 ford focus se in wilton maine doing the speed limit of 50mph... with no warning the left rear continental tire blew out the sidewall with 2700 miles in it. he did not hit any oothole or anything else when this happened. we take very good care of our vehicles and thank god he kept control to pull over. ford denied me help . insisting he ran sumthing over even after an appeal. we feel very unsafe . after pricing new tires it will take me sum time to replace all 4 and a rim i feel ford and continental should be fixing this problem or will they wait till we get killed from these hazardous tires? i just purchased this car in march i go 1 mile to work each day not far thankfully. im very disappointed in ford motor and continental tire for providing unsafe and in my opinion defective tires.this bliwout also damaged my rim which was in perfect condition .
