Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford focus. the contact stated that the ignition wiring was exposed and would cause the third cylinder to misfire. the vehicle would also stall while driving 10 mph. the vehicle restarted immediately, but the contact had to continuously apply pressure to the accelerator pedal due to the loss of the third cylinder. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the wiring was chewed by a rodent, resulting in the stalling. the vehicle was repaired by replacing the exposed wiring. there was no recall for this failure. the manufacturer was notified, and stated that it was up to the dealer whether or not to repair the vehicle. the failure mileage was 25,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 ford focus. the contact stated that whenever she would downshift or brake to a complete stop, the vehicle would stall without warning. the fuel filter, engine coil pack and spark plugs were replaced but to no avail. the contact experienced the failure at least three times. the manufacturer was contacted and advised that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred the contact to the local dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 113,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. after a few minutes, the vehicle restarted and began to drive as normal. the dealer diagnosed that there was a sensor failure inside of the engine. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 15,000.
This vehicle has suddenly died dozens of times since april of 2011. it dies when applying the brakes on the interstate, it dies when braking in a parking area. there is no specific speed when this occurs. the vehicle starts back up after two or three times while giving it gas. it happens when the gas tank is full or low and our very reputable mechanic can find no cause. this is extremely dangerous, especially in high traffic areas and i have seen where numerous complaints have been filed online and i hope reporting this will show a pattern with these vehicles. *kb
While driving, the spark plugs eject from the block. this is dangerous and can cause an engine fire. this problem has apparently been reported to ford, but they claim nothing can be done until they receive a certain amount of complaints. this is not normal wear and tear. the spark plugs have been replaced four times along with the coil. this is unacceptable and inconvenient and ford needs to remedy this issue everyone is having with their vehicles. *tr
Engine stalls when starting the car cold and when stopped at a long light. have taken it to the dealer several times and was told that they cannot identify any problems. problem has been present for last 6 years and is getting progressively worse. have changed battery and fuel filter but problem remains. *tr

I cannot even begin to explain the issues i have had with my 2000 ford focus zts. this car needs to be taken off the market and ford needs to reimburse all owners... my engine is now cutting off with no warning at any speed and i am afraid for not only my own life but my 7 year old and newborn daughters as well.... cannot find a problem with the car and after all the problems before this such as overheating, smoking engine, fried fuel system, valves, sensors, resistors, motors, hoses, wires, fuses, cooling/heating, door latches and this car practically speeding up on its own and not stopping... i feel someone needs to help us all.... please... i am begging!!!! *tr
