Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. within less than six months of purchasing the vehicle from autonation ford (1400 interstate 20 w, arlington, tx 76017, 1-(817) 200-4503), it was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (engine and engine cooling) and field service action number: 14m02 (transmission control module extended warranty coverage). the dealer had not verified if there would be an option for a loaner vehicle. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced reduced engine power. the contact stated that the vehicle was unable to be driven because it could stall at any moment. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was not available. vin tool confirms parts not available. *tr
My car has died in power 2 times while driving. once before i knew anything it began to shudder and lurch then while going highway speeds, car dies and check engine light comes on. since i was going so fast and i have no control i almost get hit by a log truck. i get car home take to ford they repair 1401'm and 1402 m. then i get it "fixed". car appears to run properly until i am driving on interstate at the speed of 70. no check engine light appears and my car [xxx] to lurch and shudder again and all of a sudden power dies and i cannot control vehicle. i almost get hit by a semi truck. i am 3 mins from home. i pull to side finally and sit. try to start and car will not start. check engine light comes on in both instances after it occurs without warning. *tr

I bought my car from the original owner. i had to buy a re-furbished motor, the tires were splitting and the suspension and air conditioner all needed repairing. when i received the recall from dot, [xxx], i immediately contacted tallahassee ford. they denied there was a recall and i was mistaken. my vin # was listed in the recall. i tried several times but ford kept giving me a run-around and they lied. so now, i have apparently missed a deadline which was not listed on the original notice to me. i am a senior citizen and this has really stressed me out and it really makes me not to purchase another ford from anyone. on ethics alone, i should be able to make them do what they basically refused by lying to me. it was in motion and went to the shop within two weeks after the notice. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Ever since we turned over sixty thousand miles on our ford focus se 2009 we have started to experience a problem where our car's check engine light will go on and the gas pedal will stop working. when this happens, the only thing you can do is: pull over, shift into park, turn the car off and start the car again. at this point the cel will go off and it will be like nothing happened. this is terrifying and extremely dangerous! the first time that the car stalled or went into limp mode was when the weather was damp, so we thought it was weather related. we decided to have the dealer look at the car. we brought the car into the dealership. we dropped the car off so that the mechanic could do a test drive. after an entire day of driving, they could not reproduce the problem, or pull a diagnostic code so they gave our keys back and said we cant do anything to help you. they then suggested that the next time our car stalls, idle the car to the dealership, but do not turn it off. really!? the ...
Car jerks when accelerating. after being stopped and stepping on the gas, car feels like it is going to stall out to the point when it begins to move again it jerks you back in the seat. makes a loud grinding noise under the hood. also, when turning the key to start the vehicle, it is hesitant to start. car shakes and does not drive at an even pace unless on the highway at or above 40 mph. been to the dealer numerous times about these problems, all to which they have no answers for.
Leak from radiator found after car cooled down. dealer stated they never saw this or heard of it. the pressure test was negative, held pressure at 22psi, i was told. filled reservoir with fluid and dye and told to drive and return next day. said the dye showed leak on left side on radiator along the tube. told that everything was out of warranty. said failure is not common. vehicle had all recommended service completed at the dealer. *tr
The engine light came on while driving, saying check transmission. the transmission is not shifting the car shakes or vibrate when the peed change. *tr
When idling or beginning to accelerate, the car jumps. i don't know if it is a clutch or transmission problem. this began the first weekend i owned the car, august 28, 2014. i was told that the engine needed time to "get used" to me as a driver, and that this is a double clutch system, by the ford dealer i bought the car from. he said if it continued, then by all means, schedule it for repair. it continued to happen, jump/jerk at slow acceleration. i brought it to the ford dealership on 12/12/14. i am scheduled to have the car looked at on 1/27/2015, that is the earliest date they would give me after the ford dealership informed me that this was a special repair and they only take in so many ford focus cars at a time. they almost tried to talk me out of scheduling the appointment, the clerk said there were no available appointments and they wouldn't be scheduling any more for at least in to february. i was persistent. *tr
The ac compressor in my 2012 ford focus blew up today. the service department told me it had been coming apart for a while and it has now destroyed the entire ac system. i was also informed that this problem is not isolated to my ac. even if i wanted to drive sans ac, then this issue would soon render my car inoperable. i was told it would cause the engine to seize. i can't imagine how bad this would have been on the freeway. unfortunately there were no signs or symptoms indicating this pending disaster (a/c functioning & no weird noises). my ford has had all recommended services and any additional preventative services related to the ac compressor were never brought to my attention. this is most likely because a problem of this nature shouldn't be an issue with a well maintained car that is only two years old; however, possibly the service department should have picked up on it. this was not due to normal wear and tear. this was a faulty part. i believe this is a quality and safety issue and really hope that ford can remedy the situation. especially as this has ...
