Our car was looked at july 2019 and the recall was not fixed but they knew about it from your records. and we have been having trouble on accelerating spitting and sputtering and today me and my family were out shopping and we were driving out of the parking lot and the car just would not go the gas was not working we couldnt move and we turned it off and starting driving again and the same thing happened and the check engine light was on and it wasnt on before this. i am very mad that this recall was over looked because my familys life couldnt had been taken if this happened on a freeway or interstate. so we had to pay for a tow to the dealership johnson city ford, tn 37602 and they were closed today but tomorrow i am going to confront them about this and im reaching out to u guys to insure this will get fixed of no charge and fixed right! thank u.
While i'm driving on freeway or regular highway the car just dies out for no apparent reason almost got into a bad wreck because of it had to coast it off the road out of way from traffic so i wouldn't get hit it's done this more then once took it in and they reset the computer it was ok for 2 days then did the exact same thing just died while i was driving on the highway the whole car turned off so had to put in park and then start took a few times to start then finally started and left but this keeps happening definitely not good for vehicle that only has 44 thousand miles on it .
On several occasions, my car will completely shut off. i then would have to sit a few minutes before i can crank it again. this has happened when i came to a stop at a stop sign and when i had stopped to turn in at a destination.i've also had went to crank my car after not driving for a day and it would not start at first. then after a few minutes, it started. each time it happened i got an engine fault message displayed. i have taken it to a dealership and they did not help. they said they could not duplicate the issue so they could not fix.
There was a recall 18s32 campaign fuel tank deformation issued late 2018. the pcm system was not adequately detecting a stuck open canister purge value. on august 24th, 2019 i took my vehicle to get the recall repair due to stalling without notice and dangerous in drivability concerns. on august 25th, the following day, i had the very same exact symptoms. i took it to pepboys to diagnose, and the same codes were populating for the recall. pepboys advised to take it back to a dealer. i then took it to another ford dealership on october 22nd for a second opinion, and they stated that the canister purge valve was sticking. on october 24th, the vehicle was returned back to me and within a couple of hours same symptoms. on nov 5th, 2019, i was advised the canister purge valve was replaced after the parts were on bo for 2-3 weeks. however, car started driving the very exact way followed by service engine light and transmission overheating warning. additionally, the car did not accelerate when attempting to make a left turn and a diesel had to swiftly hit on their breaks to prevent crashing into me. the vehicle was returned back on the 8th of november, however, dealership stated they were unable to duplicate concern. on november 13, the vehicle was picked up and on november 14th i had to take it back due to the same issues. on november 30, i was advised that they notice a clutch slipping, vehicle rev high when trying to reverse or accelerate. however, vehicle operating as design. this is not the case. after 6 attempts in trying to rectify this issue, it is not. my safety is a concern here as the vehicle is not operating as design and currently remains as is.
No occurrence just worried
Hello, i have a 2017 ford focus. i had took my car to a auto shop because i started to smell gas and my check engine light had came on. the auto shop told me that there is a leak some were and its going to cost me $430 just to drop the tank to see were the leak is coming from but then told me there was a new recall for the same year make and model for a fuel tank defect. so i took my car to the closest ford dealer and they tell me that the recall not for this vin #. i'm not sure if my vin # was over looked because it's having the same issues as the other cars.
The car starts fine and with no indicator lights just stalls out or will barely drive as if there is no gas in the car. it doesn't seem to recognize that you're putting your foot on the gas

The engine tends to stall at times, have to pump the gas pedal to keep it running. car in motion. has happened many times for almost the time we bought it.
At unpredictable times, accelerator pressure results only in engine revving. this occurs regardless of current speed, when turning at any speed or when moving forward. the transmission will not engage for several seconds. when it does finally engage, it will do so in a burst of acceleration. these conditions create problems in which routine traffic maneuvers become unsafe.
Between 10 and 15 mph, the car will stutter, acting like it wants to stall. additionally, it would not immediately start one morning, acting like it wasn't getting fuel.
I was pulling into a parking spot at approximately 3-5 mph and the car surged forward jumping the curb and hitting a tree. prior to approaching the parking spot a speed bump was negotiated so the stated mph are accurate as the speed bump was 25 feet prior to the parking spot entry.
Had a recall for a fuel tank issue. the ford dealership performed and inspection and it passed. nothing else was done. now, i am having the issues with my fuel tank as noted in the recall, however, because the inspection passed, the recall was cancelled and ford will not fix the issue has they noted it originally. i had no issues with the fuel tank until after it was inspected but now ford refuses to fix the issue they know my car has
My car is reving up by itself and throttle is sticking my car is in dealership currently for 4th time and they can't tell me what is wrong with it. it happens randomly when i am stopped or going. the car is not safe to drive and i almost wrecked it last week after the 3rd time i picked it up fro. dealership
Anytime i try to make any sort of turn in this vehicle, trying to accelerate into the turn i essentially get stalled out even though the gas pedal is engaged and trying to power the vehicle to make the turn. it becomes a dangerous aspect especially when it starts to become busy on a main city street and the car won't accelerate like it's supposed to while trying to make the turn. my vehicle can start to make the turn and then start to stall out as i'm in the middle of the turn, and then it will sit there for a second until there are inbound cars coming and then it'll continue to make the turn after stalling for about 5 seconds. it's become a concern because it now comes down to waiting until the roadway is empty and full to make a safe turn. on top of that, if i'm going anywhere between 8 to 15 miles an hour, my car starts to stutter at low speeds. not sure exactly what the cases for that, but it has raised some eyebrows and some concerns to myself with that because you never know what's going to happen if it starts to stutter and stalls out completely or disables the vehicle. this is the second hatchback i've purchased through ford, and it's the first time i've ever had any sort of issues with the vehicle. i just don't want something to happen while i'm driving or trying to make any sort of turns from a main street to a side street install out in the middle of the roadway and possibly get hit from oncoming traffic. especially going through any sort of school zones when it's clearly marked to go 15 miles an hour or below. i would recommend looking into this issue, because it looks like it has happened very frequently with a few other 2017 focus's.
