Our car was looked at july 2019 and the recall was not fixed but they knew about it from your records. and we have been having trouble on accelerating spitting and sputtering and today me and my family were out shopping and we were driving out of the parking lot and the car just would not go the gas was not working we couldnt move and we turned it off and starting driving again and the same thing happened and the check engine light was on and it wasnt on before this. i am very mad that this recall was over looked because my familys life couldnt had been taken if this happened on a freeway or interstate. so we had to pay for a tow to the dealership johnson city ford, tn 37602 and they were closed today but tomorrow i am going to confront them about this and im reaching out to u guys to insure this will get fixed of no charge and fixed right! thank u.
Car almost stalls from stop to go in first gear. and the engine rattles when coming to a stop.
While i'm driving on freeway or regular highway the car just dies out for no apparent reason almost got into a bad wreck because of it had to coast it off the road out of way from traffic so i wouldn't get hit it's done this more then once took it in and they reset the computer it was ok for 2 days then did the exact same thing just died while i was driving on the highway the whole car turned off so had to put in park and then start took a few times to start then finally started and left but this keeps happening definitely not good for vehicle that only has 44 thousand miles on it .
When i'm driving my car it doesn't matter the speed i used to think it only happened if i was driving on the highway but it happened on my way home a day and i was going 35-40 mph. basically while driving my car starts to slow down and no matter how much i press the gas it doesn't change gears/ speed up. when this tends to happen the engine fault light will come on. by the time i get to the dealership and turn the car off and turn it back on they say nothing reads on the diagnostic so basically whatever reason the light comes on for doesn't stay in the system so that they can see the issue. this has happened five times within the past two months.
I've had this car for a month as of today! i was driving down a city street and my check engine light came on
There was a recall 18s32 campaign fuel tank deformation issued late 2018. the pcm system was not adequately detecting a stuck open canister purge value. on august 24th, 2019 i took my vehicle to get the recall repair due to stalling without notice and dangerous in drivability concerns. on august 25th, the following day, i had the very same exact symptoms. i took it to pepboys to diagnose, and the same codes were populating for the recall. pepboys advised to take it back to a dealer. i then took it to another ford dealership on october 22nd for a second opinion, and they stated that the canister purge valve was sticking. on october 24th, the vehicle was returned back to me and within a couple of hours same symptoms. on nov 5th, 2019, i was advised the canister purge valve was replaced after the parts were on bo for 2-3 weeks. however, car started driving the very exact way followed by service engine light and transmission overheating warning. additionally, the car did not accelerate when attempting to make a left turn and a diesel had to swiftly hit on their breaks to prevent crashing into me. the vehicle was returned back on the 8th of november, however, dealership stated they were unable to duplicate concern. on november 13, the vehicle was picked up and on november 14th i had to take it back due to the same issues. on november 30, i was advised that they notice a clutch slipping, vehicle rev high when trying to reverse or accelerate. however, vehicle operating as design. this is not the case. after 6 attempts in trying to rectify this issue, it is not. my safety is a concern here as the vehicle is not operating as design and currently remains as is.
My vehicle engine completely stopped on its own and the vehicle indicators showed that the engine overheated. this was after less than 10 minutes on the freeway going 55 mph. this vehicle has a software related recall for it as well currently. i towed the vehicle to autonation ford of miami to be serviced for the recall and for the engine trouble(it only has 26,000 miles) and they informed me that they were not willing to look at the vehicle to even offer a diagnosis for at least 2-3 days. they did not offer a loaner vehicle or any mode of transportation in the interim. this is unacceptable behavior, especially for a vehicle under recall. this issue has occurred twice at this dealership with my two ford vehicles.
Fumes coming in thru the ac vents while in the highway when accelerating and turbo is engage. vehicle was taken to the jlr dealer for this issue and a dealer person went with me for a ride and agrees that the fumes were inside the vehicle coming thru the ac vents. this was reported to the service advisor, it was checked and according to the mechanic the issue could not be duplicated. what an answer. i'll upload the repair receipt. this invoice date was 18 july 2019. *tr*jb
I received a recall letter in january 25, 2019. the recall 18532 fuel tank inspection. hallmark ford in batesville, ms said the inspection passed. on june 10, 2019 the car would not start they towed the vechicle to the dealership with 32,573 miles. on june 12, 2019 i picked the car up from the dealership. the car ran from june 12, 2019 and it stopped in the garage on june 22, 2019. roadside service picked-up the vehicle on june 23, 2019. 0n june 26, 2019 hallmark ford in batesville, ms said the car is ready to be picked up. when we arrived to pick the vehicle up at the dealership the vehicle would not start. they had to push the vehicle back inside the service department and parts has not been put back on the vehicle correctly. they tried to jump the vehicle off but it would not start. so i asked for a service vehicle to drive and i am a female and i wanted a car but they gave me a pick up truck. i feel unsafe with my children and grandchildren in this vehicle. contact informatiom: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
There is a recall on the transmission for the engine again. i the transmission for my 2013 ford focus had this same recall and i went in to get it fixed by ford campbell in niles, michigan. they took apart the transmission and expected me to pay $2000 to fix it when there was a recall on the transmission, to begin with. i hate this model and i am sick of constantly having recalls on this model. i think anyone with this model should have their car replaced with a better model that won't have a recall on it and shouldn't have the loan rolled over.
I was driving on the freeway just getting off onto the off ramp when the engine light, oil light and warning message came on. the engine lost compression instantly and reduced speed down to 30 mph.
A few months ago, my car started to shake (in a jerking, forward and back motion), and struggle to accelerate. it would make this noise, like gears grinding. i took it to the dealership to get it fixed under warranty, and they replaced the clutch. for about a week, it was fine. then it started to do the same thing again. it will jerk back and forth when i accelerate from a complete stop (at a stoplight for example). recently, i have been losing gas very quickly because it will go all the way past 4rpms just to get from 0-20mph. i'm not sure if the warranty is still on it, but it only has 12,000 miles on it. i have only made one very big trip with it, to kansas and back to virginia. it does this off and on every single time i drive it. i have to drive anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour for work, so this is really not convenient to have. multiple times i was worried it would break down as i struggled to keep it from overdoing itself while accelerating. a few times, i could smell something like exhaust in the vents. this has been happening over the course of 6 months and has only gotten worse, even after taking it to the dealership, and having them tell me it was "fixed."
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 ford focus. when the vehicle was started, the check engine indicator illuminated and remained lit. also, the vehicle did not start for a few days. the battery was replaced, but failed after three days. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and unknown failure codes appeared. the mechanic replaced the door sensor. the manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was unknown.
A month ago i started getting high temperature warning on my car, my coolant was completely empty, so i refilled it, but now my coolant is completely empty again which could have resuled in a fire, i have no been in any recent accidents, i'm a very defensive driver and i didn't run anything over.and my back break light keeps going out and ive replaced it several times
Car will not start. will respond to a jump but will not start after running for awhile again. then it starts with a bit of hesitation for awhile and then back to needing a jump. when at a stop and accelerating, there is a huge pause before the rpms kick in then it goes all the way to max before calming down to where it should be. power just doesn't feel right. also the sync 3 has horrible response and delay most days. is it related to the power /electrical issue? new owner purchased 2/19.
I was pulling into a parking spot at approximately 3-5 mph and the car surged forward jumping the curb and hitting a tree. prior to approaching the parking spot a speed bump was negotiated so the stated mph are accurate as the speed bump was 25 feet prior to the parking spot entry.
After several start/restart cycles the car check engine light comes on and issues the following codes: p0300, p0316. it has a rough idle and the rpms will stay elevated anywhere from 1500-2200 rpm without the throttle being pressed.
The engine stalls out which is dangerous in heavy traffic. the vehicle was in motion traveling at a speed of 20 to 258 miles per hour merging with traffic traveling at a speed no more than 50 mph and no less than 30 mph, on a major thorough fare state highway 210 in dothan alabama.
Ford focus recall #18s35, nhtsa recall #18v-735 it has been over six ( 6 ) months and still no remedy. i don't understand why my elderly mother should wait this long.
When powertrain is warm and vehicle is accelerating from a stop, there is a loud grinding sound, vehicle shuddering and vibration, and resulting engine hesitation as the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear. occasionally at highway speeds (55-65 mph) there is a noticeable vibration and shuddering as the vehicle moves into and out of overdrive gears. i have taken the car to the dealership that sold it to me twice with concern about this problem and the service tech says they are waiting for ford to recall the faulty components, and that this is a common complaint.
When i first purchased my vehicle 8 months ago there was 5 recalls on the vehicle i was in aware of . since i've found out about these recalls the local lincoln shop keeps informing me that ford has not been sending them the replacement psrts to fix my vehicle i've contacted ford multiple times to figure out what they are going to do about this junk of a car . i'm paying for a car 30k for this 2017 and it's slowly but surly breaking down the car putters there's a loud ticking the idling is rough the clutch and computer has been replaced twice since i've had the car and i never use the manual part of this vehicle i'm to the point to where i just want them to buy this trash back so i can get into something better and more reliable.

Clutch pedal loses pressure/spring and goes to floor leaving vehicle in gear and vehicle stalls when driving - did this on a highway twice when attempting to shift gears. very dangerous as it almost caused a bad accident on the highway at almost 70mph. vehicle lucky made it to the side of the road costing in after stalling when clutch would not return to its normal state. dealership not able to reproduce issue but issue is intermittent and i fear it could cause a serious accident as it causes the car to stall when the clutch goes to the floor after losing pressure all of a sudden when vehicle is still in gear - it will stall out. seems to be a popular issue among many other 2016-2017 ford focus rs vehicles. others reported issue was finally resolved by replacing master and slave clutch cylinders. simply bleeding lines and/or replacing clutch and/or flywheel does not resolve issue. ford needs to research and issue a recall asap as this is life threatening because the vehicle will stall out when this occurs.
Unsafe condition: while driving and accelerating upon shifting the engine will continue to accelerate right to the redline there is no control of the throttle at this point also traveling down the highway i can step in on the cluth and release the throttle and the engine will accelerate or maintain its rpm speed you can shirt to neutrl and coast to the curb and it will maintin the engine speed wherever it decides on again there is no control of the throttle i have been to the ford dealer twice now 1st time they could not duplicate second time again they could not duplicate they handed me a sheet stating it was normal for the engine rpm to maintain for a few seconds during shift to ease the shifting and matching of transmission speed this is an unsafe condition, when you release the throtte it should close immediatly and rpm should return to base idle. i have been an ase certified master auto and truck technician for 33 years. i have sit down with the service manager and the general sales manager and i dont think ford motor company or the dealer is taking this matter seriously someone is going to get hurt here please help
Driving car , check engine light came on at 5800 mile, scan tool stated code p0340 and p0344, replace cam sensor. clear codes, drove car 3 days 5980 mile ,check engine flash couple time and stay on started smell oil and sound like it was misfiring, scan it again and it said code p0340 and p0344, called dealer bob bell ford glen burnie md. told me next opening for appointment would be week 1/2 , i said ok. took car there, they called and said there a hole in piston # 4 , need new engine and not cover under warranty because of modification, i ask what modification and they said call ford motor, we don't have any paper work. called ford motor customer service , they said call bob bell. complete run around.
Takata recall my car had stalled out ever since i got it brand new. while driving.
As i am driving and the car wants to shift gears the transmission slips a bit. there is a lag for the turbo to kick in. when stopped at a stop light the engine turns off which is normal, but when you let go of the brake for the engine to start back up, the car jumps as it i just pushed the gas peddle. this recently has started to happen. i brought this to the attention of a dealership where my car is serviced but they can't find the issue as to why.
I bought my car brand new. the transmission has been shuddering at an increasing rate. the car is slow to pick up speed and often jerks as it tries to increase speed by small increments, such as 5mph. when i do try to accelerate the car expends a ton of effort, the rpm shoots up, the car shudders and shakes. as the problem seems to be increasing, my concern for my safety is also increasing. it is difficult to merge into heavy traffic as my cars ability to accelerate is always difficult to estimate. this is becoming more and more of a safety risk. i am deeply concerned that these transmission problems create a safety risk for when i am driving on highways. however, the problems are still present on city roads because my car is unable to keep up with the everchanging speed limits in my town. this problem has been ongoing since i bought my ford, but has definitely increased in its severity.
Brand new focus electric, less than 3 days old from dealer on 8/17/2017. for the last two days, i have driven less than 100 miles. car was charged overnight and shows full charge this morning. i drove the car less than 30 miles today. in the evening, when i was driving, the car suddenly lost power and the engine stopped suddenly on the road. the car was in steady speed on a city street in a straight line. i was not accelerating. i was not braking. almost got hit by a car behind me. i was unable to restart the car. battery still show 80 miles charge. indicator warning shows: "stop safely warning lamp" and "electric motor warning lamp". all interior lights are bright when the car door is opened, it does not appear that the battery charge is low. also there is no warning of "low battery" before the car suddenly lost power. i also noticed when i turn off the "power/start button", the "information and entertainment display/gps" stayed on. even after i have clicked the "lock" button on the remote control key. after pressing the "power/start/stop" quite a number of time and switching between the two keys, then the "display center" finally turn off. we had to call roadside assistance to have car towed.
