Back seat driver door latch stopped working without cause. opened while driving and will no longer stay closed.
While driving on a highway my vehicle 2014 ford focus se began to sputter. continues to do so until i got in the street on my home and began going under 10 mph. once i entered my home to put some items down before returning back out, i attempted to start my car. i noticed upon entry of my vehicle that my radio was on without my keys being in the ignition, also my driver door was still open. i attempted to start my vehicle but nothing happened, it didn't tick nor turn. what did happen though was my entire computer system began to cut on as if the vehicle had started and turned. radio on, dashboard lights present and then cut off, alert for my low tire, trip timer began running. then an error code regarding something in the lines of fuel. wasn't quick enough to take a picture of the error message. when i removed my key and called my sister to inform her that i may need a ride for myself and my 6 year old daughter, the dashboard needles jumped vigorously. while sitting. in the vehicle again, the computer system opened up and my trip timer began running and the radio. again without the keys in the ignition, they were in my lap. the entire night while my vehicle was stationary periodically my car would cut in and off, and engage without the keys in the ignition nor present near he car. consequently, the constant running of the vehicle by it self ran the battery dead as well. attempted to contact the ford dealership, where i purchased the vehicle, and check service and the technician was very rude and continuously interrupted me. when questioning regarding and open recall, 18s32, and mentioning that not only did i call the nthsa number but i also read the recall regarding my vehicle serviceman became even more rude and even disconnected the call.
I have had issues with my transmission for awhile. i noticed it first when going up steeper hills if i have to come to a stop and continue up the hill the transmission would jump as if it couldnt get into gear. then when traveling on the freeway through the mountains we were driving on cruse control when out of no where the rmp's jumped up to 5000+ i had to get the car off of cruse control and try and help it to stick back into gear. i now have taken my car into the penske ford dealership and they are saying that there was a recall on the transmission, but when doing the diagnostic on in they found the transmission control modual was covered under the warrenty but the clutch also needed to be replaced but that wasnt under the warrenty. but there is a recall on my transmission! and i should not have to pay 2k+ to get my clutch fixed, when my clutch is a part of my transmission. i have seen that there is many lawsuits about this, and i hope i dont have to do that.
1.) while in driving motion my car acts like it stalls or gets stuck in a gear or has a problem shifting. 2.) while in reverse motion my car sometimes wants to act like it can't go in reverse, like i can't back up or drive. i restart the car sometimes & then it's fine.
At beginning of acceleration from a stop the cars transmission staggers.
I took my car in for the issue regaring the recall for "the engine may stall due to a stuck canister purge valve (cpv) within the fuel vapor system" and my second transmission fix within 10,000 miles of the last transmission replacement. the first transmission module fix, my car was in the shop for 19 days. when i recieved my car back, my transmission was shuttering so bad and wouldnt accelerate and was stuck in a gear and would not break or speed up for a couple of seconds. when i tried to take the car back in, they told me that "they fixed the recalled issue so i would have to pay for the diagnostic." in november, i found out that from may to nov. i had been driving on a broken transmission clutch. in november, they finally put in a new transmission clutch, however dont have record of them checking for the recall on the fuel system. when i took my car in for work, they told me that it was going to take a couple of hours, then it turned into one to two days and put me in a rental, however didnt communicate with me about the status of my car. i called multiple times a day, however didnt recieve any details from my mechanic. on saturday, i called again and talked to the front desk agent. i told him that my car was supposed to be done the day prior and i hadnt recieved any update on my car. later that day, i finally recieved a voicemail stating that they had finished the transmission clutch, however found a oil leak and they "had been doing what best for me" and had been fixing it without communicating to me about it. my car stayed in the shop for an additonal 4 days to fix the oil leak. i ended up being charged for the rental car after i was told that everything was under warrenty and recall so i didnt have to pay for anything. i didnt even know that they were doing this work on my car until days prior. after more than a month, i am still dealing with this problem.
On 10/25/18. car at dale in neutral. heat on setting speed 2. second setting floor dash combo. the vents on dash were hot enough to cause burns to hands if touched. gauge for engine temp showed mid range. check of antifreeze showed adiquite level. when car was in motion the temp was cooler but still warmer than it should be.
While driving from store and having my 4 year old granddaughter. my rear left door open. at first i thought i close it but yet i didn't since the car seat is on the other side. i have the door tide with cable until it gets repair.
I payed $372.24 for a fuel system problem i was having problems were engine was stalling,vapor managementvalve was replaced.now there is a recall that is not complete.why am i being chatged for this recall?i would come to a stop sign or a red light and my car would turn off.this is not first time i take my car to ford i also had to take it in for transmission recall.
Entire electrical sync system has shut down and no longer functions. while the sync was going out, the speakers would crackle and make loud, startling pop sounds. this caused jerky driving as they would pop without any notice, even if the sync system was turned off. recently, the wind shield wipers turned on and were sporadically increasing/decreasing in speed and would not turn off. the car was on (not the engine) and parked when the wipers turned on. attempted to turn the car off, reset by opening the doors, and turning the car back on. they paused and then started up again once the car was driving on city streets. the speakers popping and the radio malfunction occurs while driving, while parked, when the car is on, and when it is off. this problem has been getting worse and worse over the past year.
Pulled out of my parking spot and the vehicle started shuttering and lurching forward and then completely shut off. thought it was a dead battery but upon further inspection something is wrong with the fuel line. when i pour gasoline in, it comes right out of the bottom of the car.
Takata recall there no sound for the radio the dash board for the radio is blank before it went blank it was making a lot of noisy
Hello, i'm seeking help from your department as i am an owner of a ford 2014 focus. i've had three transmission/clutch replacements after purchasing the car brand new in 2014. usually the car becomes unstable/jerky when driving which signalled a clutch replacement. however over the past two months after two more clutch replacements the transmission/engine ceased while driving in towson md inner city streets. the first being exactly over two weeks ago and which a new clutch was installed. i picked up the vehicle and two days later called the delearship stating it is still not driving right. i could feel something was wrong. i noticed sudden jerks and what seemed like the transmission was wearing off again. i was informed by the service person mike mazor that this is normal and the adaptive systems will have to get used to my driving pattern and to give it 1000 miles. i expressed my concern that something needs to be done because the vehicle felt unsafe to drive. two days later while traveling on interstate route 40, the car suddenly decelerated, made a loud roaring sound and when i pushed on the pedal it seemed as if it was on neutral and did not want to move. all i heard was the engine rerve. extremely panicked and scared i quickly moved over to the yellow line without causing an accident or injuring myself. i had the car towed to the delearship closeby as i felt very unsafe driving any further. i was informed today by alpacker ford that they worked on the vehicle and the engine light is no longer on, the car runs just fine. they will be doing one more test tomorrow to see if they can replicate the problem. i'm totally baffled as to how the engine light turned off or why they can't find the issue. i'm afraid this car is going to cause a terrible accident if i keep driving and and pleading help from your department to get ford to find the fault and fix urgently.
2014 ford focus has shut down while driving two times. once in the middle of a busy road i was able to coast the car into a parking lot. the second time in my neighborhood, both times tranmissuon fault service now flashed, the car shuddered until it was at a complete stop. i've had the clutch replaced/fixed 2 times neither covered under fully and i was responsible to pay my warranty deductible. i have had the trandmission control module fixed once and now in the shop again, but was told they don't know what the issue is, haven't seen the codes that populated before. each time i drive that car i literally risk my life, to have a car just drop rpm to 0, shudder and jerk until i can find somewhere to park it. i drive 40 miles one way to work taking up to 5 different freeways. at what point does my safety and those driving around me become an issue? when i stall out mid highway? when the car jerks to a stop and someone slams into me? each time the car has been taken in, i am told the problem is fixed, yet i find myself back again within months for the same issue. losing power on a car while being in full motion going up to 45 mph, is not safe for anyone. having to drive a car that consistently shakes and jerks while in motion, is not safe. how many more times does this need to occur before someone realizes this model is not safe!
Power steering failure, the power steering locked up one day when i went to the store,i started the car& the power steering was locked and extremly hard to steer, i finally drove it home which was about 15 miles, i had to drive very slow because it was very hard to steer, the car was parked in a store parking lot and when i returned to the car it was very heavy to turn the wheel i was afraid to drive it home but i didnt want to leave it overnight in a store parking lot...
Have a 2014 ford focus has many recall now transmission went out and it's in shop.
Recall received on door latches. however when calling dealer to schedule no return call only solicitation calls on warranty. trunk used to open 1 push of button now trunk will not open however when in reverse trunk chime comes on saying trunk is open. when taking off from a stopped position vehicle starts to go then completely loses power happens after clutch is completely released in motion just falls on its face then immediately comes out of it infrequent but dangerous eveident since new.. traction control is accessed through radio. radio stopped working 22000. some doors do not all unlock infrequently. wiper infrequently stop working and park in middle of winshield
Some 2011-2016 fiesta and 2012-2016 focus vehicles equipped with a dps6 transmission may exhibit intermittent concerns of loss of transmission engagement while driving, intermittent no syart or loss of power. these symptoms are usually accompanied by an illuminated check engine lamp. additionally, symptoms may include messages in the message center indicating hill start assist is not available, that parking aid malfunction/ service is required or the transmission prndl/s gear selector on the instrument cluster may flash. diagnostic trouble codes dtcs u0100, u0101, u1013 and/or p0606 will be present or stored in the powrttrain control module (pcm). i turned on car from walmart parking lot. a message appeared on saying transmission fault service now and check engine lamp came on. as i drove back home the car pulls back as i stop at a traffic light. took it to carmax and they said to take it a place to check transmission. baumann complete auto repair center said that the car needs to be completely reprogrammed. tsb 16-0129.
When in drive does not want to shift from first to second , car acts as if it is in neutral while driving causeing a a serious saftey hazard as this occurs while car is inmotion .
When i drive my vehicle, i believe the transmission is having problems with shifting gears. it shakes really bad when i'm getting up to 20 mph then it some what stops. the car will ideal real loud or the rpms will go up high for no reason when i'm at a stop. sometimes the rpms will go up high when i'm on cruse control as if i'm pressing the gas down (fast and all the way to the ground) but i am not.
My car actually stopped on me on sunday may 13, 2018 off i-35 on freeway. i was driving with my son and daughter in law in the car and i begin to feel the car just slow down. it was frightening because i was on the freeway and with no warning, the car slowed down to "turtles pace" and i tried to excelerate but nothing happened. had to immediately get in lane to get car off the freeway. it stalled out. we had to wait for hours in the dark until my son came to pick us up. i had to leave the car until the next day. i had the car towed to car repair and he told me he could not fix it because of recall. i had to pay the car repair for the part he ordered that he was not able to use. i then had the car towed to auto nation ford in arlington, tx and they charged me to fix the car and did not recognize the recall. i felt like auto nation ford did not even try to see anything as a recall they just wanted there money. my car still hesitates and i am really afraid to drive it but have no chose
Bought the car in march 2018, by may 2018, car had trouble with staying started after i started it. it would shut off before reaching the end of my driveway. but once it was jumped it would start back up and drive again for a bit. by august, it was happening at least once a week. then it stopped working all together. couldn't jump it, replaced the battery, it didn't help, took it up to the dealer, they weren't able to identify the issue, took it to our local car shop, it was there from august til the end of september where they were unable to identify the issue, still hasn't been resolved but it is currently driving although it is having issues as well. dash will go black, when idling it shutters, no screen until it's actually started. rear view camera had quit then started to work again.
This vehicle has been a problem ever since ownership. on two separate occasions this vehicle has almost got my daughter seriously injured or even killed. while driving on the interstate or road the vehicle just shuts off and loses all functions. this has happened twice. drivers behind her have almost hit her from behind because they have no where else to go. besides this the vehicle has been recalled several times. this vehicle is in the service department more than it is driven. this is a seriously dangerous vehicle to be driven.
Transmission jerks,slips and if i want to skip the shuddering i have to drive faster also in reverse mode i hit the car behind me while parking because the reverse mode makes the car "jump" which makes me loose control of my reverse speed and the car(transmission) is just being fixed 1 week ago and ford people told me in ford services that that is how the car is supposed to work! i did not know what to do so decided to sell(loosing 2k dollars) the car the way it was but i do not think the car has to be on the streets is just dangerous ,so in a nutshell if i dont want the car to jerk or shudder i have to step on the gas pedal harder that is just unsafe and in reverse mode makes the car 'jumps" and hit other cars while parking. ford service people told me that is normal so i decided to get rid of the car, but i swear if i had the money i would buy all of the focuses with power shift transmission and destroy them just to have american drivers safe, please do something this is unvelivable.
When accelerating it feels like the clutch is not engaging. the car rattles and jerks despite previous recall repair of the transmission and recent replacement of the transmission modulator system. this problem has existed since i got the car, but has gotten progressively worse and feels like it is going to stall or ruin the transmission.
Upon take off my car jerks
The first incidence (2/26/18) was while stopped on a highway off-ramp, the engine stalled. the car was able to be restarted and driven. on a second occasion (2/28/18), i was driving and in motion on a residential street when the engine shut off. the brakes and steering was not affected and i was able to stop the car and restart the engine. prior to this, the check engine light came on and i had scheduled service on the car for 3/7/18 (the earliest they had available). the car has had multiple transmission replacements in the few short years that i have owned it.
The horn quit sounding upon activation by the horn relay switch on the steering wheel. it does not sound when pressing the remote twice to confirm it's locked up. it does not sound when the alarm is activated. the fuse is ok. the horn relay does not click when horn relay switch on steering wheel is depressed. the wires are all intact and connected. i took it to a ford dealer. they said it would cost $200-300 and need the car for 2 days. according to all the complaints and concerns about this issue on various websites, thousands of owners of ford focus have the same issue with the same response from the dealership.
When you are acceleration from first to second and sometimes second to third the car shakes very very badly and makes it hard to accelerate.
Windshield trim flew off while driving on highway, car has only 34,000 miles
The transmission is slipping and jerking while i drive. the clutch was replaced while under warranty. but transmission still acted the same. now ford won't agree to fix it. transmission is under recall #14m02 for tcm not the clutch and ford tell me i have to fix clutch. when they replaced clutch before they told me it would take several months to get it broke in to the way i drive and it was covered under warranty for 150,000 miles . well i waited couple of months and took it back. ford said it was past 30 day warranty and i had to pay to fix it. ford should be responsible for replacing clutch since it never drove any different after they replaced clutch. the car has been at automotice group of jasper alabama for 3 weeks and i haven't got any response from ford except to contact service manager at jasper. ford company has not even call service manager. service manage has not heard from ford.
Windshield wipers stop working, they freeze in place on the windshield.
While i was driving to work today. on 1/17/2018 my transmission fault light when on while in motion and when i stopped the car, shut it down, and restarted it it when off but came right back on. is there a recall for transmissions on ford
The capless gas tank is trapping air, causing the car to "burp" and sometimes turning engine off even when driving. this has happened numerous times in the last 8 months. but more frequently lately. i was driving down the interstate and my engine cut off from it. went to get it checked out and the service centers keep giving me the same response everywhere.
I have had absolutely nothing but problems with this car. haven't been able to drive it for two years because it's problem after problem. first the transmission went out and we spent 3000 to fix it just for it to get home and start knocking in the engine. now the car won't even turn over or even turn on. i've heard of so many recalls on this car and it's extremely unsafe and i'm too scared to even take it back in to fix it further because i do not feel safe driving this car. i've contacted ford multiple times with absolutely no help. no one should buy this car at all.
Whenever i accelerate from a stop, my car hesitates & "jumps" a few times before picking up speed. it happens very randomly from what i can tell. sometimes doing it often and other times it accelerates normally.
Transmission control module
At times the car won't start, then after a few minutes it starts. cuts off while driving at any speed as if it is out of gas. cuts off on the interstate while driving at high speed or low speed. first the batter and oil light appears in red on dash when pushing the gas nothing happens and it cuts off. it stalls more and more, the fuel gage somes goes past full or fluctuates when driving. after putting gas in car it stalls more. also, as i pull off after stopped or initially, the car hesitates and skips and the tires skip when until it gets past 15 -20 miles then the transmission is steady when it's not salling.. when it rains the passenger side floor and roof leaks water constantly when i am driving in water the passenger side floor gets wet. when it rains and the car is parked water leaks and the passenger roof is wet from front to back as well as about 2 inches of water on the passenger front and back on the floor.

Horn stopped working at 3 years old.
Shuddering so bad that car shuts off while driving on the highway. 60 to nothing. nearly hit. shuddered leaving stop signs and intersections- nearly hit. fuel system issues- bowed gas tank in the heat. could have exploded. in shop 8+ times since new. ford customer care nor ford dealership will resolve.
For the past year, my focus has been having issues with the clutch, and in the past it has had a recall for this exact problem. however, i never got a letter or call for this recall. recently on feb. 19th i went to future ford in auburn, ca to get this checked out and they said ford will have to deal with this. when i contacted ford they said they can't help financially and therefore i have to pay the $3000 to fix something that didn't happen under my administration. i have the email they sent me saying they won't be able to help out. as this is a safety issue, i'm not sure why they won't help out as it causes my car to stall and hesitate when ever i need to accelerate after i stop. not only that, i went in a few years ago having to fix another part of the car, and if ford knew that they had a recall for this, why didn't the fix it at the time.

Door latch recall. been to the johnson ford dealership in pittsfield mass a couple of times now to get the door latches fix on my 2014 ford focus se. the dealership always saids the parts are being ordered and will be delivered in two weeks. two times i've been told this and the parts never come in. one time they told me the latches would be fix that day and had my car at the dealership for over eight hours. when i called to see what was taking so long that's when they told the latches had to be ordered. then why take and keep my car for eight hours then. they are obliviously just giving me the run around and i'm not sure where to turn or what to do.
Hatch open warning light came when i hit a bump while driving on interstate at approx 60 mph. light has come on before while car was parked but never while in motion at highway speeds. have over 37000 miles on it. rear hatch recall was completed in january
Ford has safety recall for faulty door latches and dealership states 1 to 2 month back up. jack madden ford refused to take vehicle and make repair. this issue according to service department at rodman ford is the door latch may not secure and the door could open during vehicle operation. if the state of mass can give a rejection sticker taking an unsafe vehicle off the road what is my option if the dealership refuses to repair the recall and should the vehicle be taken off the road.
2014 ford focus transmission clutch went out 3 times since i have own the car. stopped at traffic light foot. on break car in drive car goes flying backwards . car lose of power will not go in reverse.setting waiting to pull out in main road foot on break car in drive car shot me out in front of a pepsi truck car control it's self. took car to police station in n barboursville west virginia to report it they laughed at me. car jump's will not go. then sends you flying backwards or forward. car is trying to kill me driving the car in the streets is when this happened or waiting to pull out on the streets in going from 2017 to 2019
On may 6, 2017 while driving on the highway at approximately 55-60 miles per hour, the engine suddenly propulsion, and effectively stalled. the check engine light came on simultaneously. (it was not on before). the vehicle slowly lost power. i was able to get it off the highway and safely into a parking lot. i had it towed to a nearby firestone, which ran a diagnostic which revealed that a portion of the engine was defective and has resulted in splicing of wires, which needed to be replaced. i was informed that there is a technical service bulletin, #14-0215 but that for is refusing to pay for the repairs even though the vehicle still is under powertrain warranty. the vehicle seized and effectively stalled on the highway without warning, and i'm lucky that no one was harmed. see attached invoice for repair information.
Break light on dash said break light fails all break lihts on when pushing break pedel my wife checked it light came on and warring transmishin running hot tap breaks back trunk lach on the back everytime i hit a bumb the light comes on the dash and today when i was backing up all thje indercater light went out on dash .it was in the shop on 3/28/2017
It all started one day after i purchased my 2014 focus car from a dealer. when i pull out from a stop sign or when accelerating as the light turns green, the car hesitates and sputters before finally kicking into gear. it seems to be fine once it settles into place but it's pretty scary until it does. i dread when i have to slow down or stop. it seemed to be close to breaking down or stalling on a few occasions. i'm only a few days into owning this car and i really don't know what to do. i was promised a long life for this car but now i'm not so sure, the symptoms are somewhat similar to the last car i owned (an escape) - sputtering, hesitation, stalling and then it totally quit on me in the middle of the road on a hill. the engine blew up. this happened after i picked up the car after repairs from the same dealer. for the same symptoms. more to that story but i am afraid to bring it back for repairs fearing whatever is wrong with it, it wont be covered. but what choice do i have? help?
