Purchased 2013 ford focus 11/8/15 used. 56k miles. drove two days then shuttering problem with transmission. brought car to dealer. dealer will replace clutch. takes 4-6 weeks for part. i am concerned that this will happen again. the transmission failed while accelerating on to highway. this is a major safety issue.

The car shudders - and is worsening and will soon be inoperable - very dangerous. took to dealer and they said it needs a new clutch but it would be 3 months or longer as they are out of stock. ford issued an fsa and that is 14m01. do they expect me not to drive the car for 3 months.

I purchased the vehicle at the ford dealership in columbus ga in september of 2014. i have never owned a ford before. but doing the test drive the car would roll back on hills, and it also did it after parking with the car in gear and switched off. the salesman explained that it was normal for the car to roll back and we should always use the park brake, on take off the cars transmission would slip and was slow to change gears he said it was normal with all small cars. we purchased the car with just over 19000 miles on it. three months later i called the service shop about it because the car started slipping at the transmission and we found out there were electrical recalls on the car and warranty call backs about the transmission. after not getting a call back because they were backed up. i call back two weeks ago and told them that the car stalled with me and my grandkids were sitting in the back. cars had to run off the side of the road to avoid hitting us from behind running at 50 mph plus this was very scary. i was told that ford wanted all cars with that problem brought in for service right away, then l was told it would be after december 2015 before they could get to me because they were already backed up on cars with those problems. were are paying for a car that has been sitting. we have had the car for over a year and driven it only 6000 miles because it is to dangerous to drive the car drops from 65 mph to 15 on the freeway with cars running at higher speeds around you they called me back after i informed them of this . after once again not hearing from them for two weeks i called and was given and appointment for 8:30 am the following morning. when the transmission stalls at 60 mph the engine light comes on . i was also told they don't have a loaner car and if its what that think is wrong it could take a month . guess i will be paying for a rental.

My car is involved in recall 14m01, the current mileage is 31100 mile the problem is a power lose and a sever vibration when the car is stopped in a red traffic light. this issue is getting worst every day and the car was fixed 4 times for two different ford dealers in which the tcm was replaced, reprogrammed, changed the transmission oil, the gasket and clutch, in the past the shudder was just in low velocity and now the shudder and power of lost is at any velocity or gear change. i been involved two times in a sever risk of crash when i was driving in a highway @ around 40 miles suddenly the car in front stopped, i had to change my line to not crash , i check the side mirror, push the gas change my line and then the car do not response and the car behind of me had to push the brake and almost crash on the back of my car. my car is now again with a dealer to try to fix the issue but i can,t accept again a change of the tcm when it didn't work in the last three times. if we take in a continues time frame my car was more than 5 months in a ford garage. the 2nd issue is an excessive consumption of gasoline and high emission of co my car is in mexico city,it's tested every 6 months to check the gases emission it didn't pass the test 4 times in 7 months, the dealer tried to fix 4 times too w/o answer as the diagnostic of the car was wrong in booth issue cases (power loss-vibration and inefficient combustion) i request by phone get all the information to the dealer in regard of the test for the diagnostic and codes from the ids and they service manager told me they can't because is confidential" and i say i'm the owner and driver an i need to know what is happening because i'm in a risk of crash and they can't hide me this information i just check the tsb 15-0120 procedure in your web site to know what they will do ...

Letter from senator burr on behalf of constituent re 2013 ford focus issues. *smd the consumer stated while driving on the freeway at 65 mph, he noticed dead spots in the steering function, the vehicle seemed to drift in a direction and while trying to correct it, nothing happened right away. then it would catch. the consumer also stated after driving the vehicle for a month, it was apparent there was a problem with the transmission. it was hesitating trying to shift and making noises. the dealer was aware of the problem and it stated it was called shuddering. the dealer informed the consumer it depended how fast he took off from start and it was standard for the vehicle. the consumer discovered there was a fix for the problem. however, records indicated the transmission had already been fixed on the vehicle. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle began to vibrate. the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate and lost power. the check engine warning light illuminated. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module and clutches in the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken to another dealer, but was not diagnosed or replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 79,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle hesitated to move forward and the check engine light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 54,000. the vin was not available.

The transmission disengaged while going 60 mph on highway. the engine light and traction control light came on and the warning (hill start assist not available). i coasted to the side of the road and had it towed to the ford garage, where they replace the tcm. this was after many transmission reprogrammings and a clutch replacement because of the shuddering and shifting problems.

Purchased vehicle oct 2013 with less than 400 miles, within a few days i called dealer to say i heard a grinding shuttering noise coming from transmission to be informed that was "normal". car began to get louder and began hesitation so i took it in and was told computer needed recalibrated. ran ok for awhile then began to do the hesitating and shuttering again. i was informed there was a recall on the clutch seal..took it in for replacement. ran fine for awhile began hesitation and shuttering yet again and had to have computer recalibrated again. now with 28000 mile it has began to shift hard, shudder and hesitate yet again. service is scheduled for saturday 11/14/15.

Since i took the car off the lot it shuddered when shifting from first to second gear. it never felt completely right but since it is a new car i assumed that's how it's supposed to feel. well the shuddering progressively got worse and turned into grinding. i got new transmission fluid and cleaned out the system checked the plugs nothing got better. i took it in a few times to the dealership they said that the transmission was fine and that's how it is supposed to drive. well i was on my way to work and the car kept slipping out of fourth gear and then it completely lost power every time i pressed the accelerator the engine revved but there was no power. this car is less than three years old it shouldn't have this type of problem. the check engine light never came on and i couldn't even get above 30 mph on the car. i looked online and this seems to be a recurring problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle independently switched gears without warning. on another occasion, when the gear was switched into the drive position and the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle rolled backwards without warning. the contact also mentioned that when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and suddenly jerked violently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 36,000. ...updated 02/19/16 *bf the consumer stated vehicle was taken back by the dealer. *tr

I purchased my ford focus 2013 titanium from royal oak ford in michigan, it was made to order. all of its regular maintenance was performed at a certified ford dealership and i take very good care of it. i have had issues with the clutch from the start however and am very concerned about its reliability, and my safety. after multiple instances of my vehicle slipping out of gear during steady highway driving (rpm jump with loss of vehicle speed) i tried to explain the issue to russ milne ford multiple times being told that if i can't replicate it for them then they can't fix it. russ milne ford finally believed me after i produced a video of it happening. after the video, in april 2014 russ milne ford reprogramed the pcm/tcm, replaced both the inner input shaft seals, and cleaned the clutch. the odometer was at 29,209 during this service. in october 2015 i was leaving a meeting in detroit, mi where my car shut off mid-commute in the middle of a crowded intersection. i put it in park, and tried to restart my vehicle but the engine did not even turn. after a few more attempts i put it into neutral and was able to push it to the side of the road with the help of bystanders. i had my car towed to bob maxey ford where after explaining the issue to a mechanic he was able to guess what the issue was and said it was common on the ford focus. they kept it over the weekend to reprogram the pcm/tcm, replaced both the inner input shaft seals, the clutch, and a leaking bearing. the odometer was at 59,936 during this service. my questions to ford: is the new clutch sitting in my car any different from the original? or will this clutch fail 30,000 miles from now like before? if so, when are you going to address this issue? what is your confidence in the ford focus transmission?

Purchased a new 13' focus and within the first couple months it started making the grinding/shutter when shifting. have taken the car in a total of 3 different times for same issue. since the last time it was taken in (10/07/2015) the noise is still present and the gears now seem to be slipping when the car attempts to shift at anything over 3k rpm. discovered the issue trying to merge on to the highway when the rpm's went above 6k but the car would not shift into any gear as if transmission was/is slipping in high rpm's.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. on several occasions, while driving at undisclosed speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond. the contact stated that the vehicle vibrated abnormally and the passenger side motor mount was replaced several months ago, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to butch ostalet ford lincoln (9274 us 49, gulfport, ms 39503, (228) 863-5525) where it was diagnosed that the clutch was slipping. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer stated that the warranty period had expired and no additional assistance would be provided. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. ever since the vehicle was initially purchased, there was a safety concern with the clutch. the contact stated that the clutch assembly shuttered and affected the condition of the vehicle. years later, the dealer (pat milliken ford, 9600 telegraph rd, redford charter twp, mi 48239, (313) 731-6436) repaired the vehicle per an unknown recall. months later, the failure recurred. in addition, after completing an unknown manufacturer recall concerning the door locks, the horn, key fob, and electronic locks failed to function. the contact was not experiencing the electrical failures prior to the dealer's repairs. the contact was concerned that the recall remedy caused multiple electrical failures. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was not available. *bf *tr

Vehicle no longer moves forward or reverse. was parked in a rest stop. restarted vehicle to leave and it did not move. check engine light came on.

The vehicle's clutch has been replaced twice it stutters/hesitates, makes grinding noises, etc. and still does since second repair, radio made popping, static skrecking sounds that got worse over time to the point of happening all the time and made radio useless, purge valve failed and could have destroyed gas tank and fuel pump if not dealt with which thankfully i did. these are all known issues with this vehicle thousands of similar complaints online.

Transmission causes car to studder when accelerating and going up hills. there was a recall in 2015 to remedy this, but did not fix the issue.

I have a 2013 focus with about 48,500 miles. when i accelerate the transmission rattles and sometimes stutters. it has been in the shop three times in the past year for the same problem. first time the technician reprogrammed the computer, second time replaced parts, third time reprogrammed the computer. within a week the problem resurfaced. the service manager states that i must wait 1,000 miles before i can take it in for repair.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the contact stated that the vehicle shuttered while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop. the vehicle was previously serviced per a manufacturer's customer satisfaction campaign; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact stated that the shuttering on the clutch of the vehicle occurred intermittently. the contact also stated that the steering seized independently without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic power steering gear failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 75,235.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while traveling 25 mph, the transmission fell out from under the vehicle which caused the contact to stop immediately. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission mount failed and needed to be re-mounted. the vehicle was currently being repaired. the manufacturer was not aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle made a loud abnormal noise and would not accelerate over 45 mph. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 48,000.

While driving my 2013 ford focus st my manual transmission's fourth gear failed after i heard a clunking sound coming from the transmission during light acceleration. then three days later my third gear failed to engage as well. currently i am on my second getrag six-speed transmission after my first one's second gear failed at 19k miles in a similar fashion.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving at any speed, the vehicle jerked, stalled, and lost power. the failure began immediately after the vehicle was repaired by a local dealer for the tcm/pcm control module. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced the clutch assembly in september 2015. the failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer eleven times. the dealer continued to reprogram the tcm and the pcm, stating that the transmission assembly needed to be replaced. the part was on back order. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that it was a characteristic of the transmission. the contact was advised to place 50 percent pressure on the acclerator pedal. the failure mileage was 17,858.

I just purchased a 2013 ford focus three days ago. today as i was driving, i noticed that when i come to complete stop while driving, the transmission feels like it jerks and the acceleration feels slow. after doing research i seen thousands of buyers of the same vehicle complaining about the same problems i am. i really need some help as to what direction to go in. i am a single mother of a 7 year old daughter and i used all my money to purchase a reliable car and now i am dealing with these issues. the car is fairly new so it should be safe to say that it should not be having defective transmission problems, this is very dangerous. unfortunately ford isn't pressing the issue towards helping buyers with these issues. please help and press a serious issue with recalling this vehicle. i represent many people who are upset after buying this vehicle. thank you. *tr

Driving on i80 west bound and my rpms shot up to 5,000/6,000. i proceeded to take my foot off the gas to let the transmission catch, however, when i put my foot back on the gas my rpms shot up again. my transmission had completely died. i had no ability to move forward. i managed to make it to the right hand shoulder from the left lane. i shut my car off once i reached the shoulder to see if that would help the problem. when i tried to start my car it would not turn on. i had dashboard lights but the car would not start. my car was still saying it was in drive when it was in park. my car ended up being towed to ford and they told me i needed a new transmission control module and that they have had several focuses come in with this problem in the last two to three weeks, so they are now keeping this part stocked. this could have been a very dangerous situation given that i80 is a very busy expressway and my car died while i was driving it.

On september 2nd while driving to work near the exit of the 22 fwy eastbound the vehicle started jerking and jolting severely with loss of power. i was able to exit and managed to drive in to the work parking lot. the car was towed to the nearest ford dealership. here is the report from the dealership: 15822 transmission control module reprogramming for overt tcm failure w. when i bought this vehicle brand new i told caruso ford in long beach ca not long after that car jerks and jolts then hesitates, and every time i took the vehicle in for maintenance that the vehicle hesitates, jolts and jerks at times while driving. they kept telling me nothing was wrong. this car has had a defective tcm module since the day i bought it. on september 2nd my life was endangered on the fwy due to negligence by both ford motor company and caruso ford dealership. they know that there is a defective problem. i have read other complaints on here. i blame caruso ford more on this problem because they have failed to listen to me and fail to do a proper internal check which put my life at risk. the car has been repaired by the other dealership near my work where it was towed at. i still don't know if there could be a more serious problem within the power train system later on..

Stopped in stop-and-go traffic on a major highway, when i attempted to accelerate again the vehicle flashed a warning which said "hill start assist not available" and the engine died completely. i lost all power to the wheels and lost power steering, was able to coast to the shoulder, where the car would not start. all warning lights appeared to come on, including seatbelt, check engine, traction control, etc. the car indicated it was in "drive", in spite of the fact that i had the gearshift in park. it would not shift gears or allow me to start the engine. after sitting for 30-40 minutes waiting for a tow truck, the car suddenly appeared to function normally. i drove home, and 10 minutes later, while parallel parking, the incident occurred again: backing into a parking space and attempting to pull back out, going uphill, the exact same sequence of events occurred ("hill start assist not available", loss of power and steering). this time the vehicle coasted backwards into another car. no injuries or damage. the 2013 ford focus cannot be trusted to be driven on the highway. i have read many reports online of other drivers having identical or very similar issues with hill start assist/transmission/traction control errors, loss of power, loss of power steering, and inability to shift gears or restart the car, with this error sometimes happening *while driving at highway speeds* resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. i do not feel safe driving this car. i feel less safe knowing that fords with this problem waiting to happen are being driving every day by unknowing drivers. this is a safety issue of the highest magnitude. it is absolutely outrageous that ford has issued no recalls.

The vehicle lost transmission engagement (shifted into neutral on its own) while trying to accelerate/cross through a busy intersection. this left me without any power to the wheels and no way to move out of the path of on-coming traffic. fortunately quickly shifting the car into neutral and then back into drive fixed the problem and i was able to make it through the intersection safely. this problem has happened several times so i do not dare let my teenage daughter drive the car. the vehicle also shakes and shudders while accelerating at low speeds. ford is offering two "customer satisfaction programs" to fix the problem. one is 14m01 which replaces faulty transmission seals which leak causing fluid contamination to the clutch. the second is 14m02 which replaces/reprograms their faulty tcm (transmission control module). my complaint is that i have a salvage title vehicle due to cosmetic damage to body panels. as such, even though ford is acknowledging their transmission system is faulty, they won't cover the cost to repair their faulty transmission seals and clutch (program 14m01). they did cover the cost for the second program (14m02) and replaced/reprogrammed the faulty tcm at no cost to me. but this is a safety issue. i personally have been in very dangerous situations several times now because of this issue. this should be a safety recall (not a "customer satisfaction program"). ford has a faulty transmission system which is causing dangerous and potentially deadly situations for drivers. ford has acknowledged this. so, to keep ford from saving a few bucks at the expense of someone's life, both of these "customer satisfaction programs" should be converted to what they really are, a safety recall, so that ford can not exclude branded title vehicles.

I have had my car in a ford dealership to be repaired five times. two involving recalls on my transmission, due to shuttering and hesitation to shift while driving. i believe this vehicle is highly unsafe since i never know if my car will be able to accelerate properly while changing lanes. this happens mainly in the city streets when being in first or second gear.

I purchased my used 2013 ford focus on august 4th 2015. since then it has been in the shop four times to address the dual clutch system being faulty. the car will shutter between gears, struggle to accelerate, it will roll backwards/forwards at stops while the car is still in drive and when i am going to park. it also will rev up randomly and almost lurch forward when its trying to shift. i bring the car in and they "fix" it, when i pick it up from the shop it runs smoothly for a short period of time before it starts all over again.

I was driving approximately 40 mph yesterday when all of a sudden the car started de-accelerating and came to a complete stop on the road. fortunately i was in the far right lane and was able to pull into the median. the car was still on and all of the other power was on but when i pushed the gas, nothing was happening. i had an error light pop up that said "parking assist not available" and then another one about "hill assistance" or something like that. i had not attempted to use either of those functions. i turned off the car for a few minutes. when i turned it back on a bit later i was able to go another mile back towards home and then the same thing happened again. luckily i was close to home so i waited again and was able to make it home. i brought it to the dealership this morning (had to stop twice on the way here for the same reasons as yesterday). they said the transmission module has to be replaced. i asked if this was a known issue and the service person said yes, it is and that some people received recall letters. i did not receive one. it's going to take about a week to fix and is covered under warranty. apparently ford is extending the warranty to 100k but i haven't seen that in writing yet. this is incredibly frustrating and scary. this car is only 2.5 years old! when i looked it up online and saw that there is a class action suit, i was shocked and dismayed. i'm worried i'll continue to have problems and that it will have no resale value.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the pcm and tcm needed to be reprogrammed. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 28,968.

I have been having continuous and progressively worsening issues with the shifting of this car. last night as i was leaving home at low speed, the car felt like it came out of gear...several times and would not move forward. i had to turn around and luckily made it home. of course, i could not accomplish the things needed to do. i have had the car back to the dealer only to get vague incomplete answers in the past.

Brief description of the problem, driving the car home from work the engine revved up and alert flashed saying the stabilizer control had a problem, then another light flashed with an exclamation mark. the engine revved and it picked up speed. i was able to stop it on the shoulder of the road. turned the engine off and put it in park. the shift lever was in park but the display said i was still in drive. the car would not re-start. i had the call emergency road service to have the car towed back to the dealership. i had just purchased the car three weeks earlier on july 22, 2015. waited two hours in 100+ degree heat for the tow truck to arrive. the dealership states it was the tcm (transmission control module) that caused the problem. in researching the cars history i found out the car has had this same problem 3 times. it's only two years old with 42,000 miles on it. this is defective and should be recalled. i still don't have my car back, (it's been 10 days now). i feel this is a dangerous vehicle and i would prefer to have the problem resolved not just constantly repaired for the same problem. it's not safe to drive, this problem can re-occur at any given time.

Bought this vehicle used with 34,869 miles on july 8, 2015. after having for about a week, noticed shaking, grinding noises, seems to be "missing" in the transmission. took to dealer on 7/21/2015 and the reprogrammed the tcm. vehicle still made same issues so i took to a different ford dealer 7/27/2015 and they did the same thing. on 8/13/15 the vehicle would not start. roadside assistance came out and jumped the vehicle to start and "faulty transmission failure" appeared on the dash screen. i attempted to take the car to the dealer but the vehicle would not go into reverse or drive. called tow truck to take to ford dealer that same day. the next day they claimed it needed a new transmission control module. as of today, 8/19/2015 - the car is still not fixed and is still in their shop.

I have a 2013 ford focus and twice within the last 30 days the transmission has malfunctioned at highway speeds almost causing an accident both times. the clutch will engage which will disconnect the engine from the drive-shaft. you have no power to move forward and the car starts to slow down rapidly. i had to maneuver the car to the far right hand side of the road both times. once i had stop, the focus would work in only first and second gear. if you tried to get the car to go into a higher gear the clutch would engage preventing you to move forward. the first time i had the focus repaired, the dealership stated that it was a defect in the software program and replaced the original with a new software program. upon picking up my focus after the first repairs, i asked the ford service representative, will this fix the problem? he would not tell me the car was fixed, only that the repairs were made to fords specifications. less than 30 days later while traveling home on the interstate at highway speeds, my focuss transmission once again malfunctioned with the clutch engaging causing the car to slow down. once again i had to pull over to the right side of the road through three lanes of rush hour traffic. the second time the dealer ship repaired the focus; they stated that they replaced the computer and the software. when i asked for the second time is the car is fixed, they would not say that the cars transmission will not malfunction again. we i took the car back for the second time the service rep informed me that their dealership had three other focuses that had transmission failures and had the same repairs that my ford had the first time. these cars are death traps and ford should have a total recall on them.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the contact stated that the transmission overheated and the "pull over" warning indicator illuminated. in addition, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed an unknown software update. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the failure recurred on approximately four other occasions and was taken back to the dealer where the transmission was reprogrammed, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 22,000. updated 09/20/16*lj *tr

Car shudders and jerks when driving, particularly when shifting automatically between 2nd and 3rd gear. this is problematic when accelerating to merge into fast-moving traffic, going up hill (which is virtually impossible), and when attempting to drive in stop-and-go heavy traffic. car is slow to accelerate due to difficulty shifting. once it does, it unexpectedly surges forward. based on discussions with ford dealership technicians and numerous other online complaints, the problem is obviously the new dct transmission. we were told the car had to "learn" our driving style and the problem would fix itself. there have been no improvements and it hasn't "learned" anything over the last year. the car is barely 3 years old and has already been taken to the dealership several times for transmission issues that haven't been fixed and apparently will not be fixed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle failed to accelerate. the air bags and seat belt lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 33,000.

As i was driving east on the long island expressway prior to exit 41s the cars notification lights kicked on several messages came up which included rear park assist, hill start assist as well as battery indicator, oil light, check engine light, etc. i attempted to push on the gas however nothing occurred i was coasting at 40 mph i signaled to get over into the right lane, i applied the brake however it also locked up and would not brake, i was almost rear ended/side swiped by several vehicles as i was unable to keep up with traffic and brake accordingly. i got to the right shoulder and hit the e-brake to stop. i turned off the vehicle and attempted to restart however the engine would not kick on and the gas pedal would not work.

Ford taurus. consumer writes in regards to transmission warranty and issues. consumer has another vehicle correspondence in artemis. *smd the consumer stated he received a letter for his daughter's vehicle regarding a problem with transmission clutch shudder/transmission input shaft seal. the consumer stated the vehicle did not perform well on hills. after, waiting over 90 days for the parts to arrive, the vehicle was finally fixed. however, two months ago, the problem returned. *jb

The vehicle was in motion on the highway when the cars transmission failed causing the car to jerk violently while momentarily losing control of the car and running off the road.

I bought this car in 2015 and ever since then the car intermittently will hesitate when doing thruway and city driving. when the ford dealership has looked at this problem (that is who i use to service this car) on many occasions, they say it is just they way the transmission feels and it is not a safety problem. i am concerned because there are allegations that ford knowingly sold the focus with defective transmissions.
