Vehicle constantly had shuttering during acceleration. the vehicle then began to catch gears while shifting gears and wouldn't shift down. while coasting the vehicle would remain at the same rpm's and wouldn't shift down.

I have had this car back to the dealer several times. i believe its at number 12 now. i've had the transmission clutches replaced 2 times, programmed several times and the driver predictor computer two times. the danger of the product still after all this is that when i pull onto the road it jerks, hesitates and at times loses power before surging forward. it can be while i'm starting out at a red light or pulling out onto main 70 mile an hour highway. at one time when driver predictor went out, it stalled on the main highway and i had to drift into the parking lot with a locked up steering wheel. i live in a small community and there are 3 other residents that have had the same problem. i transport my grandchildren in this auto and i lack confidence every time i pull out. this is an extreme hazard and ford can't seem to fix it.

I was driving home on the i- 5 san diego, ca and my car completely lost power. the check engine light started flashing. after i turned the car off for about five minutes, i drove it once again and it seemed to be normal and the check engine light was no longer flashing. then, after a week it happened again, the car died on the highway.

Shuddering continues on shifting from gear to gear. feeling of transmission slipping out of gear both at city and at highway speeds. concerns for safety and being stranded continue. i will make note that i am a 68 year old senior citizen with multiple disabilities. i contacted the dealer, parkway ford of winston salem, nc and scheduled an appointment to determine the problem. after they ran a diagnostic program, it was determined that the clutch needed to be replaced a third time. they never did address the problem of the transmission slipping out of gear. they said this was normal and the way the car was designed. i noted that coasting is not safe, it is also illegal. the clutch was replaced and adjustments made. at this time i was represented by stern law of novi, michigan in a mass action suit against ford motor company regarding this vehicle. we note that this clutch replacement was five months since the last replacement

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while accelerating from the idle position, the vehicle hesitated and lost power without warning. the vehicle was taken to suburban ford of sterling heights (40333 van dyke ave., sterling heights, mi 48313, 586-434-0943) where it was diagnosed that the clutch and seal needed to be replaced, and the vehicle needed to be reprogrammed. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 64,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while depressing the accelerator pedal, the rpms increased; however, the vehicle did not immediately accelerate. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. the transmission was replaced, but the failure recurred shortly after. the dealer and manufacturer were not notified. the failure mileage was 80,000.

Engine light came on and car said to get out because the car was overheating. the dealership eventually fixed the car and claimed it was the transmission. transmission issue is still causing issues.

This vehicle exhibits transmission problems while stationary and in motion. the car has had transmission service at four ford service centers for seven visits. while moving, the car has lost power, failed or missed shifts, shut down the vehicle at highway speeds and shown various dash warnings concerning transmission issues such as overheating. while stationary, the car sometimes does not start, will not go into park or displays warnings that the transmission is not ready. incidents have happened at all speeds and from a stopped position. there have been hundreds of incidence since purchasing the car. the last event was 7/13/17 and the car would not move at all.

This car has been in the shop for 6 times and we are currently waiting on parts to fix it for the 7th time for the trans shuddering problem. it always happens when you are trying to take off form a stop. ford has redesigned these parts atleast 4 time, even has reprogramed or flashed the computer. they have even replaced the control module in this car. they extended the warranty but when you are waiting for the part to arrive, which is 6 to 8 weeks, the miles go up. so that warranty is just giving ford a golden parachute, so most of these cars we be over the miles and then it will be our problem. there needs to be a national recall on these cars or ford should have to give us our money back and they can keep these cars!! *bf

At 19,459 miles, car hesitates and sputters while pulling out from a stopped position. dealer attempted a fix: (faulty clutches) at 38,712 miles, same problem...same attempt at a fix. (faulty clutches) at 57,662, same problem...dealer replaced "clutches". on july 9,2017 at 66,558, car stopped on the street while being driven, would not go in to gear at all. the problem escalated from difficulty pulling out into traffic to car stopping in traffic. i have invoices for "repairs" to clutches. vehicle towed to dealer . faulty clutches ?

I was driving home going about 65 mpg in a straight line on the highway and the car lost propulsion, started decelerating. i pulled of to the side of the road as fast as possible and the car wouldn't change gears, and stalled (like what happens when you don't depress the clutch). this is the second time this happened, the first time they reprogrammed the tcm claiming that was the cause. this time they are claiming the fuel pump is the cause, though i am skeptical.

Transmission/dual clutch has been replaced. going in for a second assessment. car shutters severely during acceleration and has a delay. this is a safety issue, as the car does not accelerate as intended when changing lanes, merging onto interstate, etc. this problem occurs while the vehicle goes from a stationary position to in motion.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving 35 mph, the gear inadvertently shifted to another gear without warning. the vehicle jerked and shifted to various rates of speed when the failure occurred. the vehicle was taken to sale ford (1145 us-258, kinston, nc 28504, (252) 522-3673) where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 62,000. *tt vehicle purchase date should be on or before incident date updated 9/25/18*jb

Experienced clutch shuddering issue. have had the tcm reflashed at least twice and have had the dual clutch replaced twice in less than 10k miles.

I bought my car in december of 2014, certified preowned. after having the car for not even a full month, i received a call that i had a clutch that came in to their service department. i had not ordered one, nor did i know the car needed one at time of purchase. since then i have been through 3 clutches and the fourth was just ordered monday june 12, 2017. every 15,000 miles the car begins to shudder and experience shifting hesitation. this is extremely unnerving, especially when it only does it when taking off from a stop or when accelerating after slowing down foe say a red light that just turned green. it doesn't make me feel safe, i've had multiple instances where this has caused near collisions when pulling out into traffic because the car essentially stalls out and i stop moving. ford has not issued a recall for this and this is my third year experiencing these problems. i don't want to pay for something that is the manufacturers responsibility. i got a recall for something trivial, door latched, but not thw huge safety problem that is my clutch failing. the dealer also stated on a 07/16/16 invoice that this is a recall item, but i'm still paying for it. i have all prior invoices of all clutch work done

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning and was unable to restart. the vehicle was towed to edd rogers valley ford (located at 111 auto ln, sparga, tn 38583, (931) 738-2311) where it was diagnosed with a faulty transmission control module that needed replacement. the contact stated that the module was replaced at no cost to her. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the contact stated that the vehicle did not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the contact had to depress the accelerator pedal several times in order for the vehicle to move. the contact stated that the vehicle had four transmissions and three clutches replaced by moon ford (5304 university boulevard in moon, pennsylvania), but the failure was not corrected. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 49,000.

After purchasing the vehicle brand new in june 2013, the car would stall/jerk/grind when trying to take off after being stopped at a red light or stop sign, or just accelerating to increase speed. had to take it in to the dealer to have the clutch repaired and even after this was performed, it still jerks, especially when the air conditioner is on. in january 2016, had to take it to the dealer to reprogram the pcm/tcm and perform clutch which was the 15b22 software update issued by ford motor company. after 36,000 miles the horn stopped working. after 65,000 miles the check engine light turned on and after taking it to the dealer, was told it had a code p0456 which is a small evap leak present. since it's not under warranty, i have to pay $119 just to diagnose the problem. now i have a safety recall notice 16s30 which states it may be possible that my side door latch may break, which may make the door difficult to latch. all this on a vehicle that is under 100,000 miles and almost 4 years old.

When accelerating after being completely stopped vehicle has a delayed acceleration. at times when i am coming to a stop the vehicle lurches forward like i have my foot on the gas. i have had the clutch replaced several times due to the recall and its never fixed the problem and now ford is refusing to fix under the recalls extended warranty. i am worried that i may hit someone when pressing the brake and the car jerks forward or someone may hit me when taking off from a stop because my vehicle will not go.

The transmission went out .the car gave me about a 60 second window to act on it. the message said "transmission fault act now" then went out on me in the middle of the road

Car cannot accelerate or decelerate properly. the car has had three clutches and two transmission control modules, and still exhibits the same dangerous characteristics. it hesitates on take off, will accelerate in the wrong direction (go forward in reverse and vice versa) . the rpms will randomly shoot up to 4 or 5k while driving, or you can loose speed without warning. i have had the power to the car fail while driving with no warning on a city street. it is especially bad on hills and at stop signs/lights. it shakes and shudders at low speeds. has been to dealer almost a dozen times, all under "warranty" for a flawed transmission design.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and shuttered. on several occasions, the vehicle failed to start. the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the contact indicated that the vehicle was previously repaired for the same failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 72,000.

Vehicle is back at dealership for 5th time for catastrophic failure in the transmission. the clutches have been replaced 3 times and the current failure is an acm module. we have been advised that their is not a permanent fix for the issues that have plagued this vehicle. this particular incident, the vehicle stalled out in drive thru lane. was able to restart but warning lights to service transmission came on immediately.

Shuddering resumed again during city and highway driving between gear shifts. this was the second problem of this type. it was a constant concern if i would get to my destination and back home safely without being stranded along the roadway. when i got back home, i called the dealer, parkway ford in winston salem, nc to schedule consultation for them to determine the problem. i began doing some research on the ford dps6 transmission and found there had been some problems. during the consult, it was determined that the clutch would have to be replaced for the second time. this is seven months after the first clutch replacement. the service consultant assured me that this was a new type of clutch and i would not be having any more of these problems. i am represented by stern law of novi, michigan in a mass action suit against ford motor company regarding this vehicle.

Vehicle shudders at take off or when slowing down to make a turn when initializing gas. issue was found to be a problem with the clutch. similar vehicles with the same make, model and year have been given extended warranty# 14m02 for this same issue. my vehicle does not fall under the vin#'s being covered. i believe this issue is affecting more vehicles than ford realizes. my car is currently at 65,369 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving unknown speeds, the vehicle shuttered when accelerating and the traction control and transmission warning indicators illuminated and flashed. the dealer diagnosed that an unknown module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 70,000.

My 75 year old mother in law was driving this car (her car) on 4/4/17 in bellmead, texas. she was hit at about 40 mph in the front passenger side quarter panel/wheel area by a 1998 honda sedan. she was driving on a paved feeder road in clear sun shiny weather. the car was a total loss due to the axel breaking and the air bag did not deploy. she hit her head in the accident which resulted in her death a week later due to a stroke caused by a left hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed). i can provide the police report and photos via personal email not through this public forum.

This car excelarated on my wife jumped a curb and she ended up on a steep embankment in a pile of landscaping rocks.knocked a hole in oilpan and damaged airconditioner and compressor.it also jumps out of gear going down the highway.happened 2 times the vehicle wason the highway and jumped out of gear, you have to come to a compleete stop turn engine off restart and put it back in gear

This happens consistently, from a stop when the car is accelerating theres a very distinct stuttering where the car feels like its bucking or moving back and forth as if it can't get into gear. occasionally this will make it feel like the car is about to stall. we've had the car in the shop for service for this exact issue 3 times (about to be a 4th). we were most recently in lincoln city, oregon and trying to merge into traffic from a dead stop, pressing on the accelerator made the car lurch and didn't offer us the ability to merge smoothly, instead we were unsure if we were going to stall out or if the gear would catch.

Car was sold to me from drive time, i went back and forth with for service many of times with slipping transmission issues. i had to do a repossession on the car do to ford not wanting to buy it back i have documentation of all this.

I'm currently experiencing issues with the shifting of gears. it feels like a mild case of whiplash when it happens. sometimes i start to accelerate and the car doesn't go it bucks slightly and sometimes just doesn't accelerate at the speed it should and it scares me in heavy traffic. on the highway i will feel loss of power which shows the rpms rapidly going up and down during these episodes. going to a local ford dealership to see what's going on. many websites with people complaining of transmission problems having them replaced more than once. i'm not a very happy camper and i've been a ford owner my whole life.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. when the accelerator pedal was depressed at 25 mph, the vehicle failed to respond and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 70,000.

My vehicle is having an issue with the clutch. it has been called as a clutch shudder issue by ford. the vehicle does shake as accelerating from going through gears. i have contacted the dealership and ford motor co. but they refuse to offer any resolution due to the vehicle going over 100,000 miles by 300 miles. the vehicle was bought used with approx 96,000 miles.

We have had the tcm replace one, the cluthes replaced twice and the shuttering, non shifting, shfting when not supposed to are still happening. after multiple visits to two ford dealers, ford is unable to fix these dangerous problems.my wife was on the freeway traveling at 70mph when the car suddenly died, no power. lucky it was very early in the morning and there was no traffic. under normal driving conditions, my wife may have been severely injured or worse. these 2011 - current year ford focus and fiesta are a danger on our roads, ford must be made to recall these death traps.

Transmission failure. i've had the clutch strum replaced six times, most recently my car experienced a transmission electrical and actual failure without warning. i was unable to move on a highway bridge. it has been having shifting issues since i got it and makes a noise and stutters, usually between first and second gear but also in other instances. this has been an ongoing issue.

Takata recallmy 2013 ford focus at 75,000 miles the car (automatic transmission) would shudder when taking off from a stopped position and eventually progressed to rapidly slipping out of acceleration and acting as if the car was in neutral. ford replaced the clutches under warranty, problem solved. at 150,900 the transmission failed and ford reported to me that a $900 modulator should fix the problem and maybe the clutch would again need to replaced. my complaint is that this commuter car is a good car with a faulty widely known transmission problem that will probably not be fixed by replacing expensive parts. ford has stated that it will not help with any of the cost. the dealership that does all the cars maintenance will give 10% off cost. ford motor company should rectify the faulty transmission problem and provide compensation!

Transmission began shifting incorrectly until finally losing all power leaving me stranded in the passing lane going uphill on a major highway. problem still persisted after the ford dealer reprogrammed the transmission. replacement of transmission control module still has not fixed the issue and the dealer currently doesn't know what the problem is as they hold onto the car for further testing. i've also had the power steering fail on me twice.

Car feels like it slips into neutral while driving and engine revs. jerks forward when going back into gear. had it to dealer 2x in 2 weeks. they say they can't find anything wrong. get the car back and does it again. have contacted ford and they tell me to contact service mgr at the dealer. car feels dangerous to drive. happens on the hwy and street driving. is random. bought the car brand new

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the contact stated that the transmission experienced slipping gears and an abnormal shudder while driving. the contact stated that the vehicle had a salvage title and taken the vehicle to caruso ford lincoln located at (3500 cherry ave, long beach, ca 90807, (562) 426-3301) to be diagnosed. the mechanic refused to perform the diagnostic test due the vehicle having a salvage title. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the contact was referred to the nhtsa to file a complaint. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

I have an extended warranty on my vehicle, 2013 ford focus. i have contacted various dealers in my local area, who have given me various excuses to not fix my transmission which is covered by the extended warranty. i contacted the ford customer relationship department, and they are advising me that it is up to the dealership to fix or not fix the problem. they have absolutely refused to assist me in getting this fixed or getting a rental vehicle to allow for transportation during the time that my car is getting serviced. the transmission is becoming a safety issue. i have a young daughter and her safety is my primary concern. the transmission has started to shudder and stall while driving. i am concerned that this will be an accident waiting to happen without the help of getting this repaired in a timely manner. this has been an ongoing issue since august. i had a dealership in las vegas (team ford) inform me in august and i was told that the issue was not necessary and didn't need to be repaired. i have received less than subpar service from ford motor company and the dealerships in my area.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving unknown speeds, the transmission slipped and skipped without warning. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (autonation ford wolfchase, 7625 stage rd, memphis, tn 38133) where it was diagnosed that the digital sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. on september 30, 2017, while driving 25 mph, the transmission slipped gears and the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the median. the vehicle was towed to a tow yard. the occupant sustained cut and bruises to the arms, an ankle sprain, and back pain. medical attention was received. the two air bags deployed on the driver's side. a police report was filed. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 76,000.

Upon pulling out onto highway car shifted into neutral and would not move nearly causing an accident. the car had been in service at ford dealer for transmission problems twice before.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving approximately 75 mph, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of steering. the failure occurred without warning. after the failure occurred, the contact slammed on the brakes and the vehicle was able to be stopped. after the failure, the service power steering warning indicator illuminated. the contact also stated that the failure recurred when making turns. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical power steering control module was defective and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was also brought in for a transmission clutch failure every three to six months. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000. the vin was not included.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. the vehicle was repaired per a recall for the transmission and the computer was reprogrammed. the vehicle received another recall repair regarding the transmission; however, the contact was unable to remember the recall repair. the contact stated that the transmission failed to shift properly without depressing the accelerator pedal with immense force. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer did not indicate a failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

The ford focus hatchback that i purchased from auffenberg dealer group, 1708 new car drive, o'fallon , illinois on december 13, 2016 constantly jerks when i accelerate. the car does not accelerate properly, as if it is not getting enough gas. (strangely, i did not sense this while test driving the vehicle. during the test drive on december 13, 2016, i did mention to the sales person that i heard a sound coming from the car that sparked my concern but was told he heard nothing. there's something wrong with the reaction of the wheels on the car when acceleration is slowed. my greatest concern is the car acts as if it will stop in traffic. this can prove dangerous to me and other motorists. no one mentioned or discussed with me on december 13, 2016 these problems although i've since seen a paper lacking my signature concerning the same. the car indicate a danger while in motion to me and other motorists.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford focus. while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the automatic gear shift clutch needed replacement. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact mentioned that the vehicle had been to the dealer for the same issues multiple times and was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 17,336.

My 2013 ford focus has a hesitation and jerking when accelerating from a stop. and has a low rumbling sound. when i start to pull out in front of cars, it hesitates and could result in an accident. took it to crain ford for service, and they say nothing is wrong. and this is bs!!!!!

Trans slip or hesitates upon take off,, jerking 3or 4 times then 2nd gear is ok,,new clutches was denied because of salvage rebuilt title..the vehicle has been re-certified to operate in hawaii..very slight damage, light hit
