The car evap purge valve stays open. the car idles and dies everytime i put gas in. the purge valve was replaced less than a year of purchasing the car and it's gone bad again. the check engine light and engine malfunction warning came on then two days later the car died after i added gas and took 2 hours to start. i bought a new battery and drove it another week. it still idles after adding fuel even with the new battery. it finally died and i had it towed to the ford dealer and they did a diagnostic and said the catalytic converter, throttle body and evao purge valve, o2 sensor is bad and all 3 needs replacing.

My 2012 ford fiesta has no filtration system to prevent salt and moisture from getting into the engine fuse box. last year, a mechanic rewired the fuse box low beam relay to a different fuse, now the corrosion has started up again. this forces me to use my high beams until i have to replace the whole fuse box, which is expensive and causes me to be unsafe until i fix the problem. i've seen other instances of this online.

Due to lack of sealer preventing outside debris from enter the fuse box under the hood. corrosion sets in and causes intermittent issue with day time driving lights while not effecting high beams. unexpected scenarios showed this could happen at any time, with a higher likelihood during cold temperatures with freezing participation

Headlights on 2013 ford fiesta began working intermittently while driving at night. upon further inspection, the low beam light relay was so badly corroded that it had broken off inside the fuse box, making the relay impossible to replace. the corrosion appears to be a result of a design flaw allowing moisture in the fuse box. canada has a similar recall reference number 19s28 associated with this exact issue.

Due to the poor design of the fuse box located in the engine compartment, the relay (r11) responsible for switching on & off the low-beam headlights has corroded to the point that one of the pins is stuck in the fuse box & is flush with the surface of the box. initially, this started with intermittent headlight failure--sometimes at startup & other times while driving at night or during inclement weather. the corrosion was missed when i took the car to a ford dealership. now, the low beams do not work at all due to the complete corrosion of the pin. this has lead to several unsafe situations. i have not been able to see & other cars have not been able to see me when my headlights stop working. i've had to drive with hazards instead of headlights at night to ensure others could see me while i moved my car from the highway to a safe parking spot. i nearly hit a deer i was unable to see due to my headlights going out while driving. from what i understand, this make & model has been recalled in canada because ...

The exact time of the incident is unknown. i had not driven my car at night for at least two weeks before i tried to turn on my low beam head lights when i was parked in a friend's driveway at night. my car's low-beam headlights did not turn on. upon further inspection it was discovered that the light bulbs were undamaged, but the relay had become corroded. when the relay was removed the corroded prong broke off (or otherwise remained) in the fuse box. now there is no way to replace the relay, because of the prong in the fuse box. my low beams do not work. my turn signals and my high beams still function, but it is not safe to drive at night with only high beams. so, this is a safety issue. below is a picture of the corroded relay prong in the fuse box. the prong is blue/green and is located in the upper left hand of the picture. recently in canada, there was a recall for the same problem for similar ford fiestas.

When i purchased my vehicle new i had several problems with the transmission. after several trips to joe cotton ford in carol stream, il there was no remedy besides removing the cables from the battery to reset the vehicle's computer. on september of this year i received a letter from ford motor co. to advise that they need to do a software update due to a tcm circuit failure. i took my vehicle to friendly ford 333 e irving park, roselle, il, on monday november 11, 2019, so they can rectify the problem. prior to taking my vehicle to the dealership i removed the battery cables. apparently the dealership was not able to install the new software. the service advisor advised me that the card code reader was not able to identify the error message and they had to charge me. my vehicle was at the dealership for several days and they loaned me a car while it was in service. i was charged $199.00 for them to look at the problem and since they could not update the software i had to pay the bill. i called ford motor co. for assistance and the agent told me that there ...
