The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2016 Ford F-150

Bought a brand new, 2016 f150 lariat v8 4x4. at circa 2500 miles the vehicle started to make an unusual noise when driving at 45 to 60-mph. took the vehicle for repair to the dealership. dealership heard the noise also, but were not able to locate/fix it. they advised me to continue driving the car to see if the noise increased. at circa 3750 miles, i took the vehicle to the dealership for a second time since the noise was still present and evident. the dealership has kept the car for 10 days, and although the noise still can be heard, they dealership is informing me that they are not able to locate and fix the noise. they have instructed me to pick up the vehicle although they do not know what is wrong with it. i am worried to pick up a car that has not been fixed, that has a noise that was not present when new, and that is happening when driving at high speeds. the dealership/ ford must assume ownership of the vehicle since they can't fix it, and can't advise customers to keep driving the vehicle "since we can't find were the noise is coming ...

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

On now 4 occasions, i have had an accelerator stuck in wide open condition. on 3 of them, it involved passing at highway speeds, and on the latest (10/22/16), it happened on a hard acceleration in city conditions while accelerating from slow to faster speed. in each event, pressing on the brake did hold back speed, but full acceleration resumed if brake was released at all. very lucky to have avoided accident / death!

2007 Ford F-150

Went to have truck tuned up--mechanic would not even touch spark plugs because they break off and the entire head has to be removed for repair. told us tune up would be very expensive and if they broke it would be even high. from what i was told if spark plug is bad it can result in failure of catalytic convert and result in a car fire. will it take a death before ford does a recall how do consumers maintain a vehicle when and authorized mechanic will not do the work. *tr

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2012 Ford F-150

Vehicle engine stalled driving at highway speed (70 mph). engine went into safe mode. similar problem occurred in the past (01/04/2013). repair was performed under tsb 13-8-1 and previously under tsb12-10-19 (incident 01/04/2013). corrective action both times was to install air deflector plate and replace catalytic converter for both occurrences. ford says the problem only occurs on the 6 cylinder ecoboost engine after driving extended distances at prolonged highway speed. if i had been towing my rv trailer at either time, a serious accident could have occurred. my issue is that two tsb's have been issued by ford for the same problem and the required fixes are identical but not sure if the vehicle is safe to drive anymore. i suggest ford issue a recall for all ecoboost powered vehicles.

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2005 Ford F-150

Ford designed the factory spark plugs as a two piece design. once the truck requires a tune up the current spark plugs break in half as they are removed causing an addition cost for extra labor and special tools designed to remove these plugs. i took my truck to the ford dealer who then broke 6 out of 8 plugs upon removal at an extra cost of 80 dollars a piece. the tune up which only includes the removal off the old and the installation of the newly designed one piece spark plugs ended up costing me 1000 dollars. these spark plugs also break inside the engine causing a loss of power and possible damage to the catalytic converter. *tr
