Problems with 2013 Ford F-150 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On average, the 2013 Ford F-150 starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 63 723 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2013 Ford F-150

Made a turn at an intersection with my kids and my f150 ecoboost lost power. i thought we were gonna get hit. i have had my 2013 f150 into the local ford dealership 3 times for this issue. they tell me to drive it they are waiting for a new computer program from ford. engine lite has been on for a month or more. dealership keeps giving it back. waiting on program. vehicle i feel is not safe.

Motor warning light lit up and stayed on. went to an auto zone and their computer showed fuel vapor leak. i was first told the gas cap may be letting out fumes but i have the capless gas input. the truck doesn't act any different but the warning light was a concern to me.

Fuel fill inlet my truck recently displayed a warning that says "check fuel fill inlet". i've searched the internet and many ford owners have experience this issue across several models. i've checked the inlet and it is closed as it should be, i've cleaned the area in and around where the fuel nozel goes and there is no debris. this warning causes the "check engine" light to come on and thus generates an "evaporative emissions" code. the " check fuel fill inlet" warning intermittently doesn't come on and thus the check engine light goes off and i'm able to use my remote start. when it comes on i am not able t remote start my vehicle. my vehicle was stationary, parked in front of my house. i got in to start it and the light just came on. it is not an issue that ford is unaware of and ford owners have had this issue for nearly 10 years.

The 'check fuel inlet' warning randomly comes on although no debris is in the inlet and the fuel door spring and gasket are in good working condition. the happens randomly when i turn the vehicle on but is occurring more and more frequently.

Takata recall 3.5l ecoboost engine shudders at various times, stalls while driving at freeway speeds during acceleration (extreme hazard), in traffic (hazard), stalled when stopped quickly while backing, then crank no start after stall.

For the second time in 9 months the throttle body on my ford truck failed. this time it presented a real hazard as we were towing our travel trailer and it's failure put us in a precarious situation as we're trying to merge onto the interstate. the ford dealer fixed it the first time under the extended warranty then the second repair they tried to evade payment. however, after extensive discussion, they found a it was covered by the warranty provided on the first warranty replacement. i realize the nhsa is aware of the problem, however the response is inadequate. the problem has not been resolved by ford, the safety risk is still there. ford seems to be replacing a defective part with the same item. it continues to fail and now it's the consumer is has to pay the price, both having to pay to have the throttle body repeatedly replaced and risking their safety driving the vehicle.

Hesitation stumbles erratic acceleration. nothing happens when stepping on accelerator then suddenly takes off.

While driving down the highway, the vehicle flashed service advance trac, down hill descent control fault, trailer brake module fail and a couple more codes. all electonics in vehicle went blank, including all controls/gauges. before doing so, last code read, shift to park. almost caused me to have an accident, because the power steering went out and nearly pulled me into another vehicle. the acceleration is bad too, feels like it is not firing all cylinders again. have already taken in for a number of issues, including crankshaft sensor issues(was losing power to driveline); brakes locking up (have replaced the rotors and pads six times and last time i replaced both calibers as well; power steering has been replaced once before, front axles and bearings replaced. as well as, ac problems. when the first issues arose, i was told by service tech at dealership i needed a new engine, (later he completely denied telling me this) instead they fixed some things and gave it back to me. problems have continued since, like i said have taken it in at least 6 times to a dealer and once to an independent mechanic. at first the problems were covered by warrenty, now they are not, there is only 78,000miles on the truck and has been in shop at least 6 times and is only 4 yrs old. not sure what to do, as the problems resemble recall issues, but dealership says they aren't part of any recalls. concerned for my safety on the road.

Loss of power when i accelerate. i feared for my life, when i was merging on to the highway and a semi-trailer almost rear ended me because i could not accelerate to get up to the speed limit.

Had the engine studded and drop a cylinder, this is an ecoboost motor, the check engine light started to flash while running rough.it happened as i was passing a tractor trailer on the highway,as i got around him another trailer was coming on behind me,this is when it dropped a cylinder, the trailer almost ran over me.this is a problem with this truck i found out once i did some research, ford needs to do something about this before someone gets hurt or killed.i called the dealer the first time this happened,as far as the studded and he said bad gas keep driving it(59,500 mls). it happened again at 61,381,took to dealer and they did a tsb 14-0017 reprogram, this worked for about a week then it happened again, took it to the dealer 61850mls,they couldn't get it to do it,i picked it up and 20 miles later it did it again,i got it on video this time so theres no questions, seems as though they know about it but are blowing it off, let me get outside warranty then take a look at it.let me tell you if it happens again, and my family gets hurt i will own ford !!!! thanks for you time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 60 mph, the power seized without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage and vin were not available.

Ford is aware that on certain vehicles, the fuse controlling the fuel point eventually melts due to the fact that the original location (7) in the fuse bar, is to weak to handle the load going to the fuse. ultimately and at a possible untimely time and location, it kills the fuel point causing potential life threatening non control of the vehicle. see this post: http://www.f150forum.com/f38/2009-2014-fuse-27-melting-issue-372139/index2/ ford has only issued a tsb for repairs if it occurs, tsb 15-0137 (http://m.ford.oemdtc.com/tsb/15-0137.pdf) this needs to be a mandatory recall before someone gets killed. while i caught mine early, only due to the aforementioned post, i do not feel safe.

Model year 2009-2014 f150's have an issue with fuse 27 under the hood getting hot and melting. fuse 27 is for the fuel pump relay. this causes complete loss of power while driving or a no start situation. ford has issued a tsb for this issue, but in my mind it should be a recall. if the fuel pump stops, you lose all power no matter where you are, even if in heavy traffic on the interstate. this could also be a fire hazard if the wiring gets hot enough

Truck went into limp mode upon acceleration due to faulty throttle body- while pulling onto main highway with a speed limit of 50 mph, truck stalled. fortunately, i was able to coast to the side of the road and avoid a rear end collision. this happened three times in two days and produced an obd code on the third occurrence. i turned the truck into my local ford dealership and they replaced the throttle body under my extended warranty. since this has been a known problem for ford in the model years prior to 2013, this should have been covered by a recall.

At times my 2013 f-150 would kill and other times would be non responsive at idle while traveling. the first time it happened was while i was trying to merge onto the interstate, while merging onto the 70mph interstate the truck immediately lost power after driving over an uneven area of asphalt; however 3-4 seconds later the throttle response returned to normal. weeks go by and i am traveling across 22 mile causeway bridge which has no shoulders, as i am accelerating to pass a car the truck stalls, no throttle response, within a few seconds it is back running normal. the battery warning light came on after for 30 seconds to a minute then went off. i had the battery and alternator checked and both tested fine. the truck runs fine for a few weeks and then it stalls again while merging on the interstate or while passing another vehicle.the last time i was driving home in a heavy rain storm at night busy area of interstate and it completely stalls in panic i am pushing on the accelerator hoping i can make it to the shoulder cars behind me sliding all over the road trying to avoid hitting me and my family; we are finally safe on the shoulder of the road, the truck would turn over but would not start, check engine light was on and obd codes p0201, p0202...., actually a code saying open circuit for every injector. called a wrecker service to have the vehicle towed to closest ford dealership. the dealership diagnoses the problem as fuel pump fuse has melted the connection in the fuse panel. its a" ford tsb-15-0137 " ford even sells the part to fix this problem. how can a company acknowledge they have a problem because hey specifically made another part to fix the problem but not be held responsible. i had to pay the tow service, rental car, and the cost of parts and labor, for a problem that as i googled tsb-15-0137 a lot of 2013 ford f150 owners are experiencing. *tr

Vehicle engine light on. code error of p2112. noble ford service replaced the throttle body and motor assembly. this part is not warranty i found out. it should be as i find it could fault and leave you in a limp mode. not good. noble ford charge $ 338.41 to replace the throttle body and motor assembly. ouch.

A critical 20 amp fuse that gives power to the fuel relay which powers the fuel pump blew rendering my vehicle in operable. it would not start at all. this is a known issue to ford motor company. they have a tsb also known as a technical service bulletin 15'0137. this "fix" merely relocates the fuse so that the known potential for failure does not melt the fuse housing. this does not solve the problem of why the fuse is blowing. this service is also not covered; as the dealer expects me to pay for the fix. the fuse housing on my truck is melted and chard from the failed fuse . to me this is a safety issue both for the potential of fire and losing propulsion due to the consequential loss of fuel to the engine .

Driving on a city street the truck started shaking and loss all acceleration, it showed a wrench on the dash screen, coasted to a safe place and turned truck off. it restarted fine. approx 30 mins later on the highway it did the same thing, started shaking, no acceleration and the wrench showed up. again coasted to a safe spot and restarted. took it to the dealer the next day and they say nothing is wrong, but that it could be the etb but with out a code showing they cant do anything.

While driving my 2013 ford platinum f-150 at approximately 35 mph going straight on a town road heading to the highway, the wrench service light came and and instantly putting the truck into "limp" mode only allowing me to drive 5 mph. i am lucky not to be in highway traffic. i did have my family with me heading on a 5 hour journey. completely unsafe! after a few restarts the same wrench light came on as well as the check engine light. and again the vehicle went into limp mode allowing me to drive 5mph. the grieco ma ford dealer said it was a failed throttle body, vehicle only has 55k miles on it and has been serviced regularly at the aforementioned ford dealer! i hope this safety issue gets recalled so no one will ever have to go through the situation like i did ever again!

Electronic throttle body continues to fail causing the vehicle to go into limp mode.this has occurred on 2 separate occasions. the first was in july of 2016. replaced the etb through the dealership. it is now failing again.

Throttle body failed on my pickup while driving. went into limp mode and engine wouldn't rev up. had to shut off and restart multiple times in order to make it to the shop. scanned it and had code p2112 throttle body stuck closed. replaced throttle body and seems to be ok now. glad i was just putting along when it happened or it could have been a disaster.

Lose power on acceleration while passing on the highway sudden lost of power and engine fail shacking type of feel not noise or warning before events

Vehicle runs great most of the time, but when driving at highway speeds for a couple of hours in the rain, snow, humid or misting conditions, the truck will sometimes loose power and start shaking/stuttering when accelerating to pass another vehicle, or when climbing a hill. most of time, it is a very slight shudder but when under heavy throttle, the engine will start cutting out, loose power and speed, and the check engine light will start flashing. when this happens, i will have to pull over to the slower lane of traffic, or onto the shoulder. after about 30 seconds the check engine light will either go out, or come on solid. it is very frightening when this happens but it has happened enough times that i almost expect it when the conditions are right for it to occur. i have taken it into various ford dealerships as i am usually out of town on vacation when it happens. they have applied all the tsb's recommended by ford motor, but obviosity they can't recreate the issue on demand and apparently can't correct it. this is a very dangerous issue and i would support a total recall of all ecoboost vehicles until corrected.

While driving, including but not always while driving on the interstate during heavy fast traffic, and including but not always while pulling a trailer, the orange wrench light comes on, the truck abruptly enters "limp" mode requiring rapid pulling off the highway in order to stop and restart the engine, and then a dangerous pulling back on the highway from the breakdown lane in heavy traffic. this has been diagnosed as needing a throttle body replacement #bl3z-9e926-b, but i am told by a ford dealer that there are about 3300 others waiting for this part and that they are so backlogged that no delivery date is yet in their system. rapid, unexpected, and repeated loss of power while driving is very dangerous.

After towing truck to dealer after a crank no start, the dealer diagnosed the problem as melted fuse f27 which powers the fuel pump. surprisingly this fuse has melted often enough that ford has a specifically designed rework kit p/n el3z-14293-a which relocates the fuse to a different spot in the fuse box where a physically larger but identical amperage fuse is used. after doing some research, some of the other affected vehicles with the melted f27 experienced stalling while they were driving. others have had to replace the entire fuse box due to melting. it seems this issue has happened often enough that there is an official tsb from ford (tsb-15-0137) as well as the above mentioned rework kit, which my dealer had in stock. based on the work performed (moving the fuse to a different spot in the fuse box and replacing it with a physically larger fuse of the same amperage), it seems that this issue is a design problem. this seems like a potentially dangerous defect that ford is making customers pay to fix.

Under hard acceleration. the vehicle's speed was stuck at about 50 miles per hour. i could to stop the vehicle with my brakes, i was able to put it the gear in the n-position pump the gas petal and the engine rpm went back to normal. then i but the gear back to the d-position and was able to continue

I was driving down a very dangerous highway pass going approximately 65 mph when my engine stalled as random alarms started appearing on my dashboard, then my steering locked from the engine being off. i tried the best i could to get on the shoulder as i had no steering ability and i stepped on the brakes fairly hard. i was lucky because this was the only place in miles with a shoulder. anywhere else on this road and i could have been seriously injured or died. while on the side of the road i smelled a tiny bit of burning plastic with no problem in sight. i googled what happened on a special forum website for ford raptor owners and others had the same thing happen with fuse 27. which is for the fuel pump. so i checked the number 27 fuse and sure enough it had melted, i actually had to take it out of the fuse box in melted pieces with pliers. the fuse melted while driving so the fuel pump shut off causing my engine to stall and steering to lock. many many others have had his happen and ford recognizes it as a service bulletin. however this needs to be more then a service bulletin when someone's life could be taken driving the freeway or dangerous road. we were lucky there was no collision, injuries, or fire, however it could have very well caused an electrical fire and if someone was on a crowded freeway in rush hour a collision is almost certain.

Upon entering freeway merging traffic i had a hard acceleration .my truck stumbled would not go any faster then 30 mph by then the semi was on my rear causing a serious problem had to pull off to the shoulder .waited a few minutes and the problem seam to go away. this has occurred numerous times.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact shifted into neutral and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure recurred a few miles later. the following day, the vehicle failed to start. the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel relay failed and needed to be repaired and relocated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 77,000.

My truck has over 115,000 miles on it now i drive 50,000+ miles a year. i bought the vehicle new 1st occurrence was at appx 50,000 miles i was attempting to pass on interstate the engine stalled started run rough and lost power this corrected it self after i let off the throttle in a few seconds. it did this one more time a few days later. talked to local dealer asked about fuel filter, they said there was no filter. they recommended running fuel injector cleaner. i did this and continued to do this but engine idled rough at stop signs even in park. it finally did the same thing a third time and then again from a stop sign. i had spark plugs replaced this was at 95,000 miles this helped i did not have the stumble problem again but still idles rough. finally 2 days ago it was going down road and wrench light came on and vehicle went into limp mode pulled over shut off and restart engine it went into normal mode no problem. i have cleaned the map sensors all three but no help. i did note map sensors are wet. i rear in one of your many complaints about this problem that it may be condensation from inter-cooler this sounds plausible. when it goes into limp it does not throw a code so no way to know what is wrong. i have spoke to my dealer no help. i have not called ford yet. i have rear multiple (100s) of similar complaints a lot of them on your site. will it take someone dying for you to force ford to fix this. the truck cost over 50,000 i am still paying for it and it is unsafe. i had a nissan with over 300,000 miles and no problems do we need to buy foreign made vehicles to get a good product? will american companies not stand behind their products? i as a tax payer bailed out ford and gm can i not expect a quality made product in return! i guess after someone dies in a crash caused by the f150 stalling on the highway the nhtsa will finally step in an force a recall!!!

This is an update to my complaint filed preciously. after the second episode of loss of power and the check engine light coming on. i took my ecoboost powered truck to a ford dealer and they performed tsb 14-0017. this was supposed to fix the engine loosing power. this is why the nhtsa closed the investigation of the f150 ecoboost. this has not worked. yesterday 11-7-2015 i was on a 2 hour highway trip in rainy conditions. while driving the motor again lost power and could not even maintain highway speeds. this was dangerous to my family and everyone around us. the tsb from ford has not fixed the dangers of these trucks. please re-open the investigation into this dangerous vehicle before someone is killed or injured. american roads deserve safe cars.

I purchased my 2013 ford f 150 v8, 6.2l raptor about 6 months ago for the main purpose of hunting very remote areas here in maine. about 1 month ago, i utilized the remote start to start the truck and drove to work. at noon that day, i went to start my truck, it would turn over but not fire. called aaa, they checked the battery which was fine and then placed key into door to unlock and engine fired up. then about a week ago, during hunting season, i drove the truck into a gas station, filled the tank, i went to start the truck to leave and the same issue occurred. i ended up taking the cable off of the battery, then reattached and the engine fired up. i brought the truck to ford, they stated that they diagnosed as as known problem. the fuse to the fuel pump will need to be diverted. i told ford that i was heading north to hunt the next day, they recommended strongly that i get the issue fixed asap, said they could get part and have the issue remedied the next day. i set up the appointment. ford just called and said the part was on backorder, they can't get it until nov 30. hunting season ends nov 27th.

2013 ford f-150 with the 5.0 v8 engine that has 51,000 miles. on numerous occasions the truck will crank as normal but will not start, as well as lose power while driving. ford road side had the truck towed to summerville ford. ford service department advised that a fuse form the factory was too small and was overheating causing the truck not to start. the service department told me this is a known/common issue, and the fix was for them to install a fuse relocation kit by splicing into the wiring in the fuse box as well as install a larger fuse. of course this seems like an engineering/fuse location issue and not a worn out part issue.

Vehicle experiences sudden & rapid power loss, deceleration and vehicle shuttering at highway speeds. occurs quickly and without any warning, presenting major safety issue as it has almost caused several vehicle crashes. at highway speeds this can result in severe vehicle damage and potential injuries. dealer attributes issue to be with the throttle body and has been a problem on a number of ford vehicles over the last 2 years. i have verified this by internet query. i have not seen or received any notification or recalls from ford on this or any other problems with my truck model. the vehicle in question is a 2013 ford f150 with the eco-boost engine.

We had just taken the exit ramp onto the interstate. as we started to accelerate to highway speed, we suddenly lost all acceleration. we drifted over to the side of the interstate where we sat until a tow truck arrived to bring our vehicle to the dealership. weather conditions were humid, slight drizzle, and a temperature approximately 75^. we have never experienced this problem before, and had no issues today until we started to accelerate.

When driving on freeway, check engine light came on and there was a loss of power. i pulled off the freeway and the engine stalled. there was a total loss of power and the vehicle would barely move forward when the gas pedal was depressed. the vehicle was towed to a ford dealership where they reprogrammed the turbo-charger. it was raining at the time of this incident. on 9/14/15 the vehicle again had a catastrophic engine failure. it was not raining at the time of this incident. the vehicle shook violently and had a total loss of power. the wrench symbol and the check engine light came on. the vehicle would barely move forward when the gas pedal was depressed. the vehicle was towed to a ford dealership where they replaced the "throttle body". ford made both repairs under warranty, but they refused to reimburse us for our towing, hotel and rental car expenses incurred as a result of our vehicle breaking down.

This occurred on a rainy hot day southbound towards cape cod. i was driving my second 2013 ford f150, both of which have the ecoboost engine. i attempted to pass on a two lane road, and upon acceleration the engine began to shutter, engine light came on, engine lost most of its power, and vehicle slowed dramatically. after approximately 20 to 30 seconds the engine began to return to a normal operating mode. had there been oncoming traffic, i would not be writing this. as i said, this is my second ecoboost, and i thought that ford would have fixed what is clearly a potentially fatal flaw with this engine. i had the same issue occur twice before in my prior ecoboost f150. i brought the truck to a dealer today for another minor issue and asked that the ecoboost issue be addressed, but that request was rejected by the dealer, whom sighted ford policy. clearly there is a pattern of failure on these engines, and just as clear it appears there is an effective and economical fix, based on my personal research of available information on line. it is unexplainable why ford would not get in front of this issue before there is a fatal accident. *tr

I was accelerating up a hill at approximately 50 mph when a rapid deceleration occurred. i had to quickly merge onto the shoulder in order to avoid being hit from behind. i then shut off the vehicle, waited, composed myself, restarted the vehicle, and drove safely to work. i did, however, have the "check engine" illuminate on my way home and seemed to sense some stiffness in the brakes. this should not happen in a vehicle with 8000 miles on it. *tr

Purchased new 2013 ford eco pickup. it was advertised and sold to be a high efficient fuel economical vehicle. first time temperatures dropped below 30 degrees f, my fuel mileage drastically dropped. after discussion with dealership, they seemed to be aware of the affect cold air had on its fuel mileage. prior to cold weather i was experiencing 18 to 24 mpg. as soon as cold weather arrived i was experiencing 12 to 14 mpg. this type of mileage is consistent all through the winter until late spring. seems the 24 mpg is unachievable anymore. dealership briefly explained the boosters work best in warm weather. this information was not offered during the purchase process. i even showed them a magazine article written on how fords eco boost had been experiencing lower than advertised mpg. the salesman acknowledged the article and said they had corrected the problem. i was told during a maintenance process, that it had to have 12,000 miles before they could test it for lack of mpg. i had it inspected at 11,800 miles and they claim there is nothing they can do. my advice to anyone purchasing a 150 eco boost expecting good to above average mpg, it will not happen. *tr

I drove my f150 for a short distance of maybe 3 miles, shut it off, entered the post office for approximately 5 minutes, drove the truck across the street for a distance of maybe 1/4 mile, shut it off and went into a business for maybe 5 minutes. upon starting the truck to return home it would not shift into drive. i looked at the instrument panel and saw the rpms to be over 3000. i did not hear the engine revving due to ac blower noise. i checked the accelerator to see if anything was touching it and nothing was near the accelerator. i shut the truck off, restarted, and it performed normally. other issues: 1) several months ago the radio would not turn on while driving and when i shut the truck off the outside temperature display along with the date/time display was flashing symbols instead of displaying alpha-numeric characters. upon restarting the truck the display returned to normal and the radio functioned normally. 2) when applying full throttle the engine basically stalls which can be somewhat hazardous when entering an interstate highway with a short entrance ramp and heavy traffic. i mention all of these items because in my opinion they would point to computer issues on the ecoboost. *tr

At or aroung 500 miles on my brand new 2013 ford f150 svt raptor a message come up on the 4.2 incd lcd that read "check fuel inlet". i was at a gas station putting gas in my truck and while i was pumping gas i called harbin ford and spoke with a service rep. and told them what had come up on the lcd. the service rep. told me to open the back door and look under the back seat on driver side and there should be a white funnel looking object about 6 inches long. i pulled up at my home and parked my truck under our carport which has 2 open walls and another to enter the carport. on the north end the carport is supported by 3 steel poles which holds the carport up which is attached to our house. i placed my truck in (p) park and left the engine running, my mother was outside about 10 feet from my truck. and i thought before i got in my truck that maybe i should try the funnel deal mentioned earlier in this description. so i just opened the back door because the front was already open because i left my truck running and it was in the (p) position but i got the funnel and opened the fuel door and started sticking the funnel in and out repeating several times. and about the 2nd or 3rd time sticking the funnel in and out of the fuel inlet my truck acted like someone had placed my truck in reverse and it started coming in reverse. my mother seen this and she screamed at me to get out of the way and i just seen a opening between the doors and i somehow ended up in the driver seat and i hit the brake and to disbelief i looked at the driver side door and it was almost ripped completely off and the driver side fender was also crinkled up from the door catching on the last pole exiting our carport. i looked over at the auto transmission and the truck was still in park? *tr

We bought our 2013 f150 xlt 4x4 v6 flex fuel at denham ford in wetaskiwin alberta. we traveled across country to ontario. we have continued to drive it. approximately 9000 kms for mileage our truck has steadily lost acceleration power. going up burlington skyway and garden city skyway (100 km/h major highway) truck struggle to maintain 60 km/h uphill with pedal to the floor! had instrumental panel problems improper display of amount of gas or distance to e. driveshaft constantly clunking and transmission slippage. ford refused to replace after towing of problems and constant call ins to customer service. took to local dealer and 7-8 technicians stood round scratching head replaced fuel pump did not make a difference. ford ask for payment 558.08 we not have funds as all of our money going into gas to repair truck and false reading on panel and ford refused to help us. we felt used and scared of being rear ended by a semi was not safe. did diagnostic no codes. beyond code problem. first known problem in north america...huge lemon. *tr

Vehicle lost power when trying to pass another vehicle. note i was in a 75 mph area trying to pass a vehicle that had trash flying off truck. in any case when i punched the accelerator the vehicle did a nose dive as it lost power. it took about 2 seconds for the vehicle to restore to normal operation. *tr

Eco boost engine lost power when trying to accelerate and pass. this has happened three times. ford dealer could not reproduce now and no response from ford. traveling speed 75 and tried to pass at 85. *tr

I purchased my 2013 ford f-150 ecoboost in december 2012. the first incident occurred in approximately march 2013. it was raining. i was accelerating from a stop light where i had made a complete stop. i could not gain speed very well. the engine light was flashing. the engine was sputtering/popping and the whole truck was shaking violently. the same has occurred ever since on more than a dozen occasions and at various speeds. however, each time was while it was raining. never has had a problem in fair weather. i experience a total loss of power, many times when on the interstate or while trying to overcome a vehicle. the front-end lurches, i lose speed dramatically, the engine shakes violently when i accelerate. the engine sputters and sounds like it doesn't know whether to choke out or blow up. the engine light flashes for approximately 1 minute each time. almost sounds like a misfire. happens several times during one trip often, but always when it rains. continuous occurrences and beginning to become more frequent. have taken my truck to 2 dealerships, neither of which can detect any dtcs or any other problem. offer no advice other than to keep driving it until the engine light stays on permanently. they have no idea what causes the problem. i am really afraid that the problem may result in a motor vehicle accident. have not had one yet, but have a had a couple of incidents where i had to pull over to avoid an accident. problem is so persistent that i am considering trading vehicles, especially since i have been offered no remedy for the problem. i have also filed a complaint with ford motor co. on 07/30/2013. *tr

Not getting sticker mpg; took vehicle back and ford milham dealership in easton pa off rt 33 said " there is nothing we can do about it" power steering rack also malfunctioned at 7,000 miles. dealership manager agreed there is an issue with the vehicle. i dropped the vehicle off on a wednesday. thursday night they called and stated everything checked out and "ford says it's within range". i was also told i will receive a survey online - i never received the email to communicate my dissatisfaction with the vehicle and the dealership. vehicle now has 10,000 miles and now i get 16 mpg on highway (no city driving). *tr
