Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the brakes failed to respond. the failure occurred intermittency. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 102,000.
Takata recall my ford f150 truck 2013 was purchased in 2014 brand new. in 2017 january i had the sparks plugs changed and now again in april 2017 my mechanic has said that the sparks plug needs to be changed. i believe and gathering from what my mechanics is saying there is a problem with the coil? which is why the sparks plug in black for the second time. this all started from a problem with the brakes the tried flushing the breaks and same thing than they looked into the engine and changed the sparks plug (jan) now in april same issue. need help this is costing me money.
1st occurrence i was driving in town, moderate traffic and i depressed the brake pedal and it was rock solid and i could barely slow the vehicle with both feet pressing as hard as i could and the brake warning lights came on. i turned the vehicle off then when i restarted several minutes later, the issue went away. a couple of days later, i received the brake booster recall notice and took the vehicle in for repair at the local dealer. a couple of weeks after the booster recall repair i had the same issue on a rural road nearly causing an accident. i took the truck to the dealer immediately with all of the warning light illuminated and issue still occurring. the ford dealer said it needed the vacuum pump replaced so i told them to go ahead, they charged approximately $360 for the repair. yesterday, after turning off of a rural road to a more developed shopping area, i lost braking function with the same symptoms as previously described at a traffic light and had to use the parking brake to decelerate. i again parked the vehicle, turned off the ignition and after about 30 minutes, the brakes were working again.i have made an appointment with the dealer to have this diagnosed again in 2 days. thank goodness my this hasn't occurred while towing my boat. the issue has occurred in both city and highway driving and always while the vehicle is in motion. only once did the brake warning lights come on before loss of braking. the issue did not occur while turning. *tr
Brake pedal goes all the way to the bottom and it is losing pressure. i was driving about 10 miles per hour when i push the brake and all of a sudden the pedal when all the way to the floor..
Two days after purchasing this two year old used limited edition f150 the power brake assist failed; weather condition was rain. returned it to dealership who did nothing as they could not duplicate the problem. this has happened several times since purchasing the truck, and reported to the dealership, and is a major concern to me as i tow a 26' travel trailer with it. rate of speed when applying brakes was @15mph or less, and each time the roads were wet. called ford today and established case # cas-11141043 for this repeat condition after dealership said there were no recalls or tsbs and that it was uncertain if it's under warranty. today was the most recent incident and the truck is back at the dealership now.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 30 mph, the brakes failed and there was no pedal movement at all. the contact had to shift the vehicle into manual in order to slow down. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the diagnosis was unknown. the failure mileage was 96,000.
My master cylinder leaked and cause my breaks to lock up ,that's what my repair shop said
Brakes squeak loud when in reverse.
Bought truck with 45000 miles. drove 7000 miles. took it to dealership for oil change and they tell me front left caliper has locked up. need to replace caliper and brake pads. took truck to another place for second opinion. they figured out caliper pins not lubricated and that is why it was locking up. had to replace rotors and brake pads. during test, master cylinder failed. have to replace. dealership refused to take any responsibility and fix problem. there is a recall for 2013 ford f150's master cylinder.
Driver side brake pads were installed backwards causing incorrect wear
Driving home from a camping trip with my son, i applied the brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor at the same time the "low brake fluid" warning light came on. my truck did not stop, to prevent an accident, i had to slow my truck using my parking brake, an extremely dangerous procedure. i attempted to pump the brake pedal to possibly get more pressure in the brake lines, but that did not work. the vehicle became un-driveable and had to be towed. i examined the brake fluid reservoir and saw there was no fluid. the following day, i had my truck towed to the dealer and the following day after the service tech examined it, he said the brake fluid had leaked from the master cylinder to the brake booster. the dealer replaced the master cylinder and brake booster. luckily, i was not going at highway speeds when this brake failure occurred or my son and i could have been seriously injured.
Without warning brake pedal went to floor absolutely no brakes and low brake fluid light came on. had to drive into the ditch to keep from hitting another car and used emergency brake to guan lily stop before hitting a tree. there was no warning or anything just absolutely no brakes. master cykinder was empty put 6 pints of fluid in it. that just disappeared. no leaks any where under the truck. ford recalled 271000 for this very issue. but mine is not included in recall. we were coming home from football game in heavy traffic at midnight. had to call wrecker to get us home.
Truck vibrates badly when applying brakes. feel a pulse in the brake pedal.
Loss of brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir into the brake booster
Yesterday brake pedal starts to push toward the floorboard while braking. after sitting overnight the vehicle had no brakes and low brake fluid warning was on. had to have towed to dealer.
I bought a new f-150 in 2013. the front brakes began pulsating when applied at 50+ mph. the dealership turned the rotors, charging @ $500. about 6 months later with less than 10,000 additional miles, same problem. dealer said this is normal and brakes would have to be repaired about every 10,000 miles. research shows this problem to be pervasive with the f-150 because of inferior material used in the rotors.
Brake fluid leaked from caster cylinder to the brake booster causing a sudden and almost complete loss of braking ability. almost caused serious accident.
Loss of brakes while driving. brakes stopped working. pedal went all the way to the floor and nothing happened. had to use emergency brake to stop. towed car to ford to get brakes fixed. brake line ended up breaking and rotors were damaged.
2013 f150 v8 with 28000 miles has faulty front brakes. the outside pads appear to be working properly while the inside pads are not. the inside of the rotors are gouged and rusty while the outsides are in perfect shape. i see many other complaints about this same issue. the brakes have been grinding off and on since 15000 mile with normal use, and no off-road use.
2013 ford f-150. consumer writes in regards to brake fluid leaks from brake master cylinder into brake booster and caused brake failure. *smd the consumer stated the vehicle experienced the same failure as described in safety recall fore certain ford f150 breaks. the consumer requested to be included in the recall and that she and her warranty company should reimbursed for the repairs. the break master cylinder was replaced. *js
Upon leaving my driveway which is on a hill i went to apply my brakes and had no response, caused me to go off the curb. my brake pedal was hard to operate i went on line and did some research found out about recall.
I was driving my 2013 ford f-150 down the highway at highway speed when i got an audible and visual warning on my dashboard telling me that my brake fluid was low. i cleared the message and noticed that a smaller red "brake indicator" light remained lit in the instrument panel. i tapped the brakes to make sure they were working. they were working. i immediately slowed down and proceeded rather cautiously exiting the highway in route to my local ford dealership, which was not more than 1 mile from the end of the exit ramp. as i proceeded to the dealership i tested the brakes multiple times. once i arrived at the dealership i parked the f-150 in a parkign spot. after checking in, the technician asked me to pull my truck into the service bay so that he could have a look at it. when i returned to the f-150 i cautiously backed out of the parking spot. as i began to brake so that i could shift the f-150 into drive, the brakes failed. the brake pedal went completely to the floor and there were no brakes. i quickly applied the emergency brake and avoided, by just inches, craching into the vehicles behind me. i put the vehicle in park and asked my teenage son to get the technician. the technician parked the f-150 back in a parking spot and i left it there for repairs.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while applying the brake pedal, a squeaking noise was present from all four wheels. the vehicle shook and vibrated. the vehicle also suddenly lost power and appeared to stalled. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the brake pads and rotors, but the failure continued. the contact was informed that the stalling was due to a faulty brake booster. the dealer changed the spark plugs, but the failures continued. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 47,667.
Complete brake failure. the warning light indicator " low brake fluid" came on, followed by full brake failure. towed to dealer- not included in the previous recall dated may 25th 2016. the result of the failure was due to the master cylinder and brake booster. all parts back ordered. 2 weeks for the booster and 4th qtr for the master cylinder. vehicle was manufactured on july 20th 2013, just days before the dated recall of august 1st 2013. open a case with fmc. status pending..
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v345000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available. updated 10/13/16*lj *tr
Brake rotors were turned at 13000 miles again at 26000 & 34000. have 38000 miles on vehicle now & have same problem. most of these miles have been on the highway
Brakes failed while 2013 eccoboost 3.5l f-150 was parked. stepped on brake pedal to shift out of park and pedal went to the floor. no prior indication of a problem. looked at master cylinder fluid level and completely empty. no brakes at all, front or back. moved truck to ford dealer for repair. dealer did not have parts and had to special order them.
From the ford recall notice 16s24 "brake function in the rear wheels is unaffected by this condition". wrong! i experienced the low brake fluid warning message and the master cylinder reservoir is also the source for the rear brakes. in my case, i had complete brake failure, pedal to the floorboard. backing out of the garage to take the truck to the dealer, it would not stop at engine idle speed and broke the rear view mirror on the garage door opening. i am having the truck towed to the dealer. hate to think of what would have happened had i gotten on the road. the recall notice downplays the severity of the condition and this is unacceptable. i checked yes on the crash question because of the collision with the garage door opening.
I had complete brake failure. master cylinder leaked into the booster. i thought it would be part of the existing recall, but my build date of 10/2012 was not included.
While driving the vehicle the low brake fluid light came on and then immediately after the light illuminated the truck experienced a complete brake failure. my foot went all the way down to the floorboard while pressing the brakes. the master cylinder was completely empty when we parked the vehicle. we replaced the brake fluid back into the master cylinder and within two minutes of pumping the brakes the master cylinder was empty and the low brake fluid level light came on again. we investigated under the vehicle but could not find any sign of the brake fluid leaking under the truck. we used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle and brought it to the ford dealership.
I just received a recall notice regarding the brakes failing to stop the vehicle due to a defect in the master cylinder. when i call the ford dealer where i purchased the truck, i was advised that they don't have "fix" for the problem yet, but may have that by the end of the year. this vehicle is unsafe and yet ford has no repair for it? how about they pay me back and i buy a chevy? i don't operate the vehicle because of the brake recall.
I was in a parking lot backing out of my spot. with no warning light or any previous warning, my break system went out. accelerating in reverse and breaks to the floor, my truck just continued to speed up. i slammed my car in park and the truck shut off. it was not until that moment that a warning light came on stating low brake fluid. i could have killed someone in this parking lot. ford told me to drive it in and they would take a look at it. i had to tow it in myself and they claimed the warning light was on previous to me putting my car in reverse (which is wrong) but they replaced my break system for me (with the same failing system). i still have no faith in my breaks and my truck has never drove this poorly. everything on it squeaks (probably from slamming it in park to avoid running people over). this needs to be a recall!!!
On july 7 2013 i experienced a complete brake failure while driving on a major state route. i was able to get my vehicle to the dealership for repairs. they explained that the repair was not under warranty. upon further investigation i discovered that there was a recall for the exact problem that my vehicle experienced. when i called this to the dealers attention, the said my vehicle was not part of this recall. this vehicle has less than 50,000 miles and could have been involved in a serious accident had i not known how to control a vehicle with no brakes. i'd like a refund in full of $572.48 that the dealer charged me for the repair.
Eco boost brake recall. lost all braking with no warning on freeway. no accident or injury.
I drove the vehicle to the store this morning and there was no problem with the brakes. when i left the store and started the vehicle i got a message that said brake fluid is low and when i pressed the brake it went straight to the floor with no resistance. i had to pump the brakes several times to stop the vehicle from moving as i was attempting to back out of a parking space. i got it to stop however when i pressed the brake again it went straight to the floor again. i then turned the vehicle off and called for roadside assistance. the vehicle was towed to the dealership (it only has 11000 miles on it) and they advised me that the master cylinder was defective and was leaking fluid into the brake booster.
Vehicle stationary in parking lot, no brakes, front or rear, had it towed june 16, 2016, looked at in freehold ford, freehold, new jersey, diagnosed friday june 17, 2016, no brakes, no parts no answers as to when it will be repaired, no loaner vehicle, no help, today is july 1, 2016 only answer is from ford central jersey customer service rep ms. auna lochlan 866-631-3788 xtn 77798 is that letters are going out july 11, 2016 on the recall and we don't have parts. so i have no vehicle, no answers!
As i came back from dropping of the kids at school, 06 june, i was driving into the house complex when the breaks failed. the truck would not stop. i used the emergency break to slow down the vehicle. once i stopped i then proceeded to drive the vehicle to my drive way using the emergency break. i was lucky it was not busy. i contact ford to see about the problem. was told the recall was not going to come out till july. ford got me in contact with the nearest dealership, viva ford, to make arrangements to pick up the truck on 07 june. the problem is the fluid leaks into the master cylinder. i was told by the dealership that ford does not cover rentals. that the dealership will try to help me with a loaner. now i'm stuck with no vehicle, missed a day of work and still have to wait if a loaner vehicle comes available.
On 6/5/2016 the low brake fluid warning light came on and the brake fluid reservoir was empty. we were near harold ford in sacramento, ca, so we dropped the truck off for repair. on 6/6/2016, the master cylinder and brake booster were replaced.
In all braking scenarios, be it from 55mph+ to 0 or just a partial slow down the truck begins to shake and shimmy vigorously. it affects steering, stopping distance and is extremely unsafe. the issue is at its peak when coming to a complete stop at any red light or trying to brake and turn at the same time. issue was diagnosed and seems to be a defect in ford rotors as the brake pads are over 80% as stated by a ford representative.
Ford brake recall # 16v345 i want to report that the day after i received your warning notice, my brake's failed. i was lucky that it happened while i was backing out of a parking space at 2 mph and not on i-95 in heavy traffic doing 65 mph and towing a camper. i had the vehicle towed to the dealership, and they told me that they did not have a recall notice on my vehicle yet. however, because they had just done a complete brake overhaul on it in march, they only charged me a $ 100.00 deductible. they did say that if i received a recall notice from ford, i could ask for a refund of the deductible. i have attached the invoices from both transactions. i would like to hear more from you regarding this and any more recalls on my vehicle
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 25 mph and attempting to engage the brakes, the brake pedal sank to the floorboard and failed to stop the vehicle without warning. as a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into another vehicle. a police report was not filed and no injuries were reported. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the technician was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 35,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving approximately 55 mph, the brakes failed and the low brake fluid warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v345000 (service brakes). the vin and failure mileage were unknown.
Complete brake failure. i had to replace rotors, pads and add brake fluid yesterday to my 2013 f-150 with the 3.5 liter turbo boost. i have the receipts! i was told that the fluid was extremely low, pads were cracked and the rotors were wrapped. i spent over $700.00 and i have less than 54, 000 miles on this truck. worst brakes i have ever had, now the brakes are spongy and the tech. has no clue why; brakes were bleed twice but still same issue.
Brakes requiring frequent service with brake pads breaking on passenger side and rotors needing turning. we have 50,000 miles on truck and brakes are scrubbing again. this will be the fourth time we have had to correct this problem.
On 05/03/16 i went to bring my 9500lb rv home from storage. while driving to the lot the truck brakes were fine. after hooking up the rv to the truck and pulling out of the lot the brakes were still fine. but as i approached a traffic light, i pressed on the brakes and nothing was there, no brakes at all. red lights on the dash was the only warning i got, but not until it was to late. if not for the rv having brakes i would not have been able to stop. i was able to get the rv home. i put fluid in the brake reservoir. i then drove down the street (without rv) with brakes but after the third stop i lost all brakes. i was able to pull into a local repair shop and had them fix the issue. i was told the master cylinder was leaking all fluid into the brake booster, and when the mechanic removed the booster he poured fluid from the booster. before i left my house i found no wet brakes or fluid in the engine compartment or on the ground. i was told the same by the mechanic. i called my ford dealership and told him of the issue and he stated because i was outside my warranty (45000 miles) it would not have been covered. he made no menchin of the possible brake issues. i went on the internet to see if others had a similar issue and found out about the investigation. i'm writing you today to let you know this is happening without any warning. i have all the parts and the repair cost me 873.26. all streets were local streets. several traffic lights. after i lost braking i was able to stop and enter my residential street by using trailer brakes and the emergency truck brakes. thank you *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford f-150. while driving 5 mph, the vehicle did not stop when the brake pedal was depressed. the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. the vehicle was able to be stopped; however, the parking brake had to be depressed. upon inspection, the contact noticed that the brake fluid was depleted. the contact added brake fluid to the vehicle, but it depleted again 45 minutes later. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but it was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Master brake cylinder failed, allowing brake fluid to enter brake booster, resulting in brake failure. brake warning lamp illuminated, was still able to stop vehicle, but brake pedal went all the way to the floorboard.
My low brake fluid light came on this morning and my brakes were completely out when i started my truck. no sign of leaking. filled brake fluid went to work came out to get lunch and brake fluid gone and light on again. no sign of leak. 2013 f150 limited with the 3.5l v6 engine. could have been a very serious incident as i live on very busy roads. this is extremely concerning, i have 2 toddlers i drive and pick up from school everyday.
On 4/16/2016 i was involved in a collision. after investigating the cause, it was found that the master cylinder was low with no visible leaks. witness stated that they saw my brake lights come on but my vehicle didn't slow down. i contacted ford about this and they had the "we don't care" attitude. my truck is still under warranty, and has had 99% of all maintenance done through ford.
When entering vehicle to leave ford vehicle was parked i went to turn on the ignition master brake cylinder reservoir low waring light on display illuminated, low brake fluid on displayed. filled the reservoir to minimum , drove for 10 minutes on city streets low brake warning again . ford looked at it and found brake booster filling up with fluid, ordered part. vacuum hose may be the unknown cause. ford replaced pcv valve earlier in the month due to gas oder in oil.
