Truck lost power due to a problem with the fuel pump fuse location

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford f-150. the contact stated that the engine stalled while driving over 70 mph. the contact heard a beep sound and the low oil pressure indicator illuminated when the failure occurred. the failure was experienced several times. the contact was able to move the vehicle onto the road shoulder, restart the engine, and drive to david wilson's villa ford (2550 north tustin street, orange, ca 92865, (714)-509-5615). the dealer performed a diagnostic test that located failure code: 27 (fuel pump). the dealer stated that the fuel pump fuse was located in an area that caused the fuse to overheat. the dealer relocated the fuel pump fuse to another area that would not cause the fuel pump fuse to overheat. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

While traveling at 70 mph the vehicle stalled with the engine shutting down in main lanes of an interstate. the stalled engine resulted in the loss of all power assist features including power steering and power brakes. we were able to navigate across several lanes before coming to a complete stop in a traffic lane but not safely off the interstate. after calling for a tow and requested service. it was determined that a fuse powering the electric fuel pump had "burned" out and had to be replaced. should have been a simple solution, upon further investigation it was determined the fuse panel had been damaged and would no longer accept a fuse and has to be modified with the fuse location moved to a new location and upgraded to a more robust fuse and fuse placement slot. ford has been aware of this problem and has only elected to fix those vehicles that exhibit failure and at the cost of the consumer if not within the warranty period. this vehicle has been returned to ford dealers multiple times with no mention of this problem or repair. ford has ...

Driving vehicle at approx 65mph, engine lost power, engine wrench light, illuminated, oil pressure light illuminated, engine shifted to 'limp mode'. no acceleration. pulled over to the side of the highway. waited 2 minutes and restarted the engine. was able to get home. took to certified ford dealership for repair. issue occurred twice more while driving to the dealership for repair. needed to replace the throttle body.

On 3/19/2020 very strong fuel smell coming from right side of vehicle, vehicle would not turn on vehicle also would not even allow lights or dash to work. vehicle was in a parked position

Was driving and would loose power and slow way down then power would come back. could get back to highway speed then loose power again. i wad able to get home. once i stopped engine it would not restart. had towed to ford dealer for repairs. was told it is a known issue that the fuse is too small and has to be rewired. this is a design flaw and safety issue. ford should have to recall and fix it. this cost me $430 to have repaired.

While driving approximately 60mph the vehicle suddenly downshifted to first gear on its own causing the tire to lock up putting me into a skid on the highway pulled over restarted vehicle then was stuck in 5th gear and would not accelerate. shut off vehicle and returned to normal then happened again the next day!

I bought it with @ 10,000 miles on the odometer. i have had nothing but [xxx] with it from day one. first off i put two new front rotors and brake pads all the way around and both idler pulleys were squealing so i replaced them . then at @ 19,000 miles i had to replace both cvj half shafts . now at 45,000 miles they are both shot again the cvj half shafts are . on the first of january this year i was driving down the road and the vehicle was running good suddenly it began to cut out and the power fell off on its face. i purchased an obd11 code reader to try and diagnose the problem. it tells me that random misfire detected and that cylinders 5 6 7 8 are misfiring . let me just say that 4 months later after going thru everything from the plugs wires injectors and replacing the fuel pump module assembly it is still not running and i'm at my end of trying to get the peice of $*** running. there is no way in [xxx] at 45,000 miles on the vehicle that i should be having all the ...

Vehicle backfired and started shuttering upon acceleration...check engine light came on replaced ignition coil 6. 1000 miles later, same situation cylinder 1&2...replaced those coils and replaced spark plugs. shuttering lessoned, still backfired on upon strong acceleration. definitely a safety concern. the backfire does not trigger the engine light to come on...from the research i've done, this seams to be a common problem with the eco boost

2012 f-150 has an eco boost 3.5 l motor that misfires in damp/wet/rainy/cool weather. motor goes into a misfire mode with no power to drive or accelerate truck. before the mileage warranty was up, truck was taken to ford for their "fix". however, the issue has remained from 2012 to current year, 2018, and without ford fixing this problem will continue for the indefinite future of these motors from ford. cannot trust truck to perform when needed and a safety hazard when driving, towing or accelerating when this occurrs.

While driving vechicle suddeningly lost power, this is the second time this has happened in the last 7700 miles. very dangerous as this has happened in heavey traffic and almost caused an accident. truck has the ecboostengine. ## vin passed ## 2012 ford f150 ##

My truck is sputtering at full throttle and throwing a flashing check engine light that is now staying on. it happened on a highway during hard acceleration

My truck would lose power at times then would not start. dealer advised the fuse to the fuel relay pump was burned and needed to be bypassed to a larger fuse because the fuse installed by the manufacture is too small. this repair cost me $411. dealer advised this was a defect from manufacture and was common in the 2012 year model. i researched the issue and located many complaints about vehicles losing power on the highways and almost involved in collisions due to the fuel pump problem. i'm sure there are many complaints and accidents that can be attributed to the defect which causes fuel disruption.

While trying to turn into traffic lost all power to accelerate and stayed in first gear. while on the interstate drops into lower gears without any warning. i stoped driving this vehicle due to my family's safety being jeopardized. i dropped the truck to a local dealership and was informed it is due to a lead assembly to the transmission. the repairs would be over a thousand dollars. while researching i have noticed multiple f-150 with my egine (3.5 ecoboost ) have had this safety issue. i was informed by ford to contact you and report the issue.
