My factory tires, bf goodrich long trail t/a, on my ford f-150 king ranch bought new in 2006 lasted only 21,428 miles. they gave me a lousy $236. and it cost me $708.to replace all 4. now, 18,270 miles later there are less the 4/32 left on the tread. on a recent oil change, a dealer would not rotate my tires because of the ware. now i am being told - sorry no warranty left! - i am livid! can anything be done? *tr

Husbands truck began wobbling noticeably while driving. checked tires and came to the conclusion that 3 tires had bubbles in the sidewalls, and of the 3 tires 1 had a bubble the size and shape of a football in the middle of tread, i believe they were goodyear tires 255/65/17. also, the wire inside of the tire could be seen on another part of the tread, which there wasn't much of. 27,000 miles on vehicle, bought used less than 1mo ago. put spare tire on the worst one, took back to dealership and ford replaced all 4 tires since the other one was different make and wrong size. could have been serious accident involving tires if traveled 1,000 miles with family when attended grandmothers funeral. *tr

On august 26, 2007 i was traveling east on highway 190 between kempner, tx and copperas cove, tx at about 10:30 a.m. in a 2006 ford f-150 super crew with about 25,000 miles on it. road conditions were dry and the roadway was recently redone. my speed was about 65 mph in a 70 zone. for no reasons that i can determine the right rear tire rapidly deflated. i managed to keep the vehicle under control and pulled onto the shoulder. the tire was destroyed with evident damage to the outer sidewall. i put the spare tire on and continued. monday, 27 august i visited automax ford and asked them to replace all the tires on the vehicle. the service manager told me that tire defects were the responsibility of the manufacturer. i made the decision at that time to replace all the tires with another brand. *jb

I purchased a new 2006 ford f150 from a local ford dealer in huntsville, tx. after picking up the vehicle while driving home it was very an apparent there was a problem with the tires, the vehicle had an extreme vibration. i returned to the dealer, reported the problem and requested them to address it, their service department employee explained that the truck had set on the car lot for some time and the tires get flat spots and this is the problem, she told me to drive the vehicle and the problem would go away. this vehicle was just driven over 160 miles (from austin, texas to huntsville, texas, as it was a dealer swap, in order to get a vehicle with the specs i had requested), before i took possession of the vehicle. i had driven the vehicle over 100 miles before returning to the dealer to request this problem be corrected, after talking to their service person, i put more miles on the vehicle, the vibration still exist, went back to the huntsville ford dealer service dept, again requested the rotate and balance the tires, left the vehicle for repairs, my ride home was not much better, still a vibration, late took the vehicle back to the dealer, they told me to drive it and it will get better, so i drove it 34,000 miles, no change in the vibration, he only change was a very uneven ware in the tires. went back to the dealer where they came up with all kinds of reasons why they are not liable. i still have these tires in the shed behind my home, removed and replaced them with bf goodrich tires; this resolved the problem of vibration. now i would like a new set of tires to replace these defective continental tires and have someone look into the ford dealers unsafe practice. *tr

Moderate to severe wheel vibration in steering since 2006. it remains unrepaired after several attempts by the dealership where vehicle was purchased. i'm now being told to "live" with the shimmy and it should be "expected". *tr

Had a general ameri-tech go flat (613 miles on it) could find no holes or leak except from tire/rim seal. ford dealer claimed it had a nail hole in side wall and i had to pay for a new tire myself. again i attempted to air tire back up but it was leaking from tire at rim. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford f-150. the contact has had to replace two front passenger side tires within six months due to excessive wear on the outside of the tires. there is also a front end vibration and the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice. the vehicle was also aligned twice at that time. the dealer could not find any failures and the vibration and tire failure continues. the tire information was unavailable. the current mileage was 29,500 and failure mileage was 5,239.

My new f150 has a terrible shudder in the steering wheel for the first 10 miles after the car is started. if it is cold out, it is very difficult to control the vehicle above 50 mph. ford has replaced the tires, but they replaced them with the same pirellis and it did not help. *jb

Truck began shuddering when braking @ low/high speeds. was told rotors warped @ approximately 6,000mi. dealership had the rotors machined and then adjusted calipers. after driving truck off noticed brake pedal was slightly softer but no longer felt vibration/shuddering. at approximately 9,000mi once gain felt slight shudder/vibration when braking. took truck to dealership with approximately 13,000mi and was told rotors were once again warped. i had ceramic brakes installed @ approximately 24,000mi and new rotors installed @ approximately 30800mi. with the rotors installed significant vibration still occurs when braking at any speed. safety concerns for some time now. apparently shuddering not due to warped rotors as dealership suggested. *tr

Tonight driving down two lane highway at approximately 50 to 55 mph and for no apparent reason drivers rear tire failed. the sidewall of tire blew out. luckily it was on the rear tire. this ford f150 had only 3300 miles, i expect to get my tire replaced!!! i really expect to have all 5 tire replaced with another brand. *jb

Steering wheel shimmies at 50-70mph. have had tires rotated, tires replaced, front end aligned, brake rotors replaced still the shimmy is there and have been told that the big tires 18"rims 235/75 may partially been the problem. what? why would ford use a tire that is too big? and cause the steering wheel to shake and shimmy. have had an independent shop look at truck and can find nothing wrong, but i have never had a vehicle have such a noticeable shimmy in the steering wheel. very unsettling feeling. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while parking the vehicle at 5 mph, the front driver side tire rubbed against the curb. when the contact returned to the vehicle, the tire had blown out. the vehicle was taken to the dealership, but no repairs were made. the tire was a hankook dynapro bsw a-s. *ak

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle has several problems. while driving at no specific speed, the front end vibrated and rattled. the vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. however, the problem could not be duplicated. the second problem occurred while entering a curve at 55mph, the right rear tire blew. the tire was not inspected for the cause of the failure although, the tire was replaced. the third problem is the cooling system bolts were loose. the vehicle was taken to the dealership for routine inspection and maintenance when the looseness of the bolts was discovered. the dealership tightened the bolts for repair.
