At certain speeds the car stalls when changing gears

Interior lights do not light up on opening the door. additionally, upon starting the engine, the electrical panel blinks, fizzles, demands reset, which doesn't reset, and eventually corrects itself sometimes after 15 minutes of blinking. additionally, the high beams implement and then you cannot make the high beams turn off. may all be related but, seems like 3 separate issues, all seem to be related to the electrical panel. blinking begins while stationary upon starting truck and continues while in motion, indicates problem with everything electrical including speedometer and states auto locks fail, along with blinking failure of all systems stating reset but pushing reset does not appear to fix anything.....only time fixes it.

My husband was backing out of our driveway and had sudden acceleration that spun him up onto the lawn and finally the vehicle was stopped after hitting our house and going through the wall. the truck stopped with the back wheels inside the house with the engine continuing to rev.

Gas and brake pedal are too close together. you could still be giving it gas while you are pushing on the brakes. i see hundreds of complaints about this online.i was pulling into a parking spot when i thought i was applying the brakes the other half of my foot was on the gas causing me to jump the curb and crash into a wall. *tr

When stopped at a red light my engine began to rev. at very high rpm's and the tires burned out when i shifted the transmission into neutral. i purchased this truck in dec. 2013 and this was approx. the 7th incident of sudden acceleration. it seems to only happen when stooped or slowing down. any help in this matter would be deeply appreciated. thanks in advance. *tr

My 2006 ford f150 fx4 has stalled on the highway at two different times in the last 9,000 miles. i am driving at normal speeds, with normal weather conditions, half tank of gas, and i was coasting as highway speeds slowed - as i went to hit the accelerator to speed up, i lost the ability to accelerate. first the wrench dash light came on, then i noticed steering was slightly difficult and then the battery and transmission light came on. i got the vehicle to the side of the road, but i did not lose headlights, radio, heat, or power. i turned the truck off and waited 2 minutes, then it started back up - a little difficult on the starter, but it worked. i have read numerous chat forums online with users having this same issue with 2006 v8's in the f150. what is ford doing about this? my vehicle has been meticulously maintained and cared for. from what i read this is a fuel pump control panel issue with corrosion of dissimilar metals - where is the recall? *tr

Vehicles misfiring and stumbling during moderate accelerations and cruising when a load is put on motor. ( going up a hill, slight incline and passing). spark plugs were unable to be removed for replacement. the spark plugs were not of good quality and would need to be replaced more often than usual. the manufacturer was made aware, however no assistance was provided. $1249.00 to change one spark plug. *tr

I am 6'5" and wear size 16 shoes. with my size and the distance to the pedal my legs go a little to the side and my shoe is at an angle to the petals lets say 30 degrees. i wearing typical work boot (like in ford commercials) which the laces have pegs the shoe laces go around. these pegs are the same as all work boots (red wings - $300 boot). what happened is because the brake pedal has a thick rubber pad that stretches around the metal brake pedal and leaves a ridge in the back of the pedal all the way around (so the rubber fitting goes over it like a shower cap). also the truck is an automatic and the break pedal is very large. while backing up giving just a little gas my boot shoe lace peg got trapped behind the brake pedal and was holding my foot on the gas pedal depressing it down. because the rubber ridge runs all the way around my pedal (as designed) i could not move my foot to the side of the brake pedal to release the gas. because of the thickness of my foot when i pressed the break with my other foot, it moves the gas pedal down at the same rate as my foot is trapped, so the more you press the brake the more you give gas at a ratio that does not let me stop the vehicle. (note i use only one foot for the gas and brake normally but with my right foot trapped i had no other choice but to use my left foot to brake and try to get it the truck out of gear . i could not do anything in time and hit a stationary building. if someone was behind me, they would have been killed. the only other way i could have gotten my foot loose is to depress the gas pedal which is not an option in a lot of situations because it would make the speed of the impending impact faster and harder. this is a design flaw that traps work boots and at certain times and causes loose control. *tr

Transmission shift cable outer sheath was melted on exhaust system. cable had unknowingly come loose of a retaining clip and was then allowed to contact hot exhaust manifold. melted the outer plastic of shift cable causing the shift selector to become inoperable. shift selector could be placed in park but transmission would not be in park; if i had not realized there was a problem i could have believed the transmission was in park when it was not and the truck could have rolled freely. truck is a well maintained 2006 ford f150 crew cab 4x4 with the column shifter. *tt

While pulling vehicle into garage the vehicle suddenly accelerated. i did not have a floor mat on the floor. this is about the fourth time this has happened since i bought the vehicle new. i took the vehicle to the ford dealer approximately 2 years ago and they could not duplicate or determine the problem. *tr

Tl* 2006 ford f150. the contact stated that while driving he started to accelerated when the gas pedal stuck causing the vehicle to pick up speed. the vehicle crashed into a building and stopped when it hit a snow bank. the contact was not injured. the vehicle was towed to a local shop where they diagnosed that it was possible for the pedals to get stuck in cold weather. the vehicle was being repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the contact did not file a police report. the failure and current mileage was 50,000. upadted 04/28/11

I own a 2006 ford f150 pickup truck. on 07/15/2010 i noticed that the cruise control dashboard indicator lamp came on several times without me engaging the control. later i during the evening i noticed not only the cruise control dashboard indicator lamp turning on and off, but also the right side steering wheel cruise control buttons were not lighting up though the headlamps were on. i attempted to get the issued repaired at the local dealer, but closest appointment was at the end of following week. two days later, on 07/17/2010 i was operating the truck, i experienced the cruise control engaging as i accelerated. the truck continued to accelerate even though i had not engaged the cruise control, nor was my foot on the accelerator pedal. i was able to regain control by depressing the brake pedal and putting the transmission into neutral. i brought the truck to nearest ford dealer for repair. while traveling the approximately 5 mile ride, the cruise control continue to engage on its own. the ford dealer was able to diagnose the problem, citing a defective cruise control switch. the switch was replaced and now the vehicle appears to operating properly. *tr

While braking the motor surged causing me to have to swerve to avoid hitting another car. even with my foot on the brake the truck did not fully respond. *tr

The truck was purchased oct, 2006. june, 2007 upon approaching an intersection i moved my foot from the accelerator to the brake. the engine did not decelerate for approx. 2 sec. july, 2007 while driving 60 mph i moved my foot from the accelerator to the brake to slow for a left turn. the truck would not decelerate for approximately 3 sec. the truck revved to approx. 5000 rpms. as i took the ditch, the acceleration stopped. nov, 2007 i started my truck in the driveway. as soon as i shifted into drive the truck revved to approx. 5000 rpms. i stood on the brake as as the back right tire squealed, leaving black tread marks in my drive. i shifted into neutral. the acceleration did not stop. i turned the truck off. when i restarted the truck it idled normally. i took the truck to the dealership. they replaced the throttle body, claiming that should resolve the issue. dec, 2007 while in busy traffic in the rain and driving through a busy intersection, i removed my foot from the accelerator to brake. the truck revved to approx. 6000 rpms, nearly rear ending the car in front of me. i shifted into neutral and the acceleration stopped. i went back to the dealer. the service manager drove it for a week and found nothing. it was returned to us with a black box installed called a "flight recorder". we were instructed to press the button on the device at the next occurrence to capture data to "prove" the problem. the fifth incident occurred again in my driveway feb 2, 2008. as i shifted into drive the truck revved to approx. 6000 rpms. i stood on the brake as the back right tire squealed, leaving tread marks on the drive. i pressed the button on the flight recorder and shifted to neutral. the acceleration stopped and i took it back to the dealer. after a weeks time and inspection by a company engineer, we were advised the captured information had been lost and that the engineer believed i was accidentally standing on the accelerator in lieu of the brake. *tr

I was involved in an accident which was caused by hitting the brake pedal and the accelerator at the same time. i thought i was hitting the brake when and hit the gas at the same time causing my vehicle to rear end collide with the vehicle in front of me. since i have been driving the vehicle this has happened several times, the gas pedal is too close in height to the brake pedal. *nm
