I own a 2000 ford f 150 that i bought used back in february. we got it home and checked it out and found the broken strap. we have one fuel tank strap that is rusted and broke. the other one is rusted but not broke as of now. *tr

My straps that hold my fuel tank has rusted (rotted of). i have now got a strap holding my fuel tank up until i can get these replaced. i believe that this is a huge issue. *tr

Fuel tank straps rusted and fell off of the truck. the part was most likely of poor quality as the truck is 10 years old. *tr

To whom it may concern, my grandfather [xxx] bought a 2000 ford f-150 on 12-15-08. on sept. 24,2010 he and my grandmother was driving back home when a person started flagging them down. both gas tank straps had failed and the gas tank was dragging on the ground and leaking gasoline, luckily they stopped, and the tank did not explode.the police and fire department was called out. the repair shop said that the straps were rusted and corroded which caused the straps to fail. my grandfather said that the dealer had informed him that the previous owner had garage kept it, and he has also kept it in a garage since he had purchased it. the tank and straps had to be replaced and the repair cost was $524.29. i wish there would have been a notice sent out to the consumers about the 32 claims. this could have gave the consumer notice to have it checked out, prior to the failure. if the tank would have exploded, i could have lost both of my grandparents. if you need to contact me or my grandfather please contact me by e-mail address [xxx] and i will give out our phone numbers. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I bought a used f150 lariat 4x4 2000 model after having the truck 3 weeks it caught on fire sitting in a parking lot where my husband works we had not even had time to get the full coverage ins. and it changed over at the end of the month . i called the ford company and was told to contact out local dealers this was a joke they all but laughed in my face and gave me more 800 numbers to call with the same answer every time * so what do you want me to do about it ???? * we found out that was s a recall on the truck due to the chance of fire after setting and brake fluid dripping on the cruise control unit. we never knew of the recall and did not have time to have it fixed is there any thing that you can do to help in this matter. *tr

I own a 2000 ford f150 that i bought new. occasionally, (once/month) the truck will "purge" forward by itself. this happens when the truck is in drive, while sitting at a stop light or stop sign. *ak

Cng transfer tubing (connects fill connector, 3600 # cng storage cylinder, and engine side of fuel system together) passes through the floor of the truck bed and hole is shielded with a rubber grommet. the tubing on this and our other identical truck were found to be chafing through the grommets due to the angle at which they passed through the relatively small (1") hole in the bed. it appears as though this would have created a failure in the tubing if left alone. we adjusted the rotation of the tubing fittings and we believe we have solved this problem ourselves, but due to the fact that these are ford factory installed gfi cng systems, we thought we should generate some action. we also have three gfi aftermarket cng kits that have almost the same configuration but the fuel line hole cut into the bottom of the bed is approximately 2" and has a boot that centers the tubing in that hole. this appears to offer much better protection to the tubing
