2018 ford explorer. hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires. size 255/50 r20 105h no crash. mileage !2,066 miles. tires are cracking and separating with chunks flying off as i drive. ford offered me $500 towards replacing the 4 tires for the same brand. they would not replace it with a different brand that i feel safe with. i will be running into the same issues. these tires need to be recalled!
I have hankook tires on my ford explorer. bought it new with these. less than 25,000 miles and they look to be tearing up all over. hankook says there's no warranty on their tires. technician says i need them changed right away or they will 'blow out.' *js

I purchased a 2017 ford explorer xlt and after 20,000 miles i was told the tires needed to be replaced. i agree with the service man and am looking to replace them. i looked at the tires, hankook, venous s1noble 2, 255/50r20 105h and saw the dot date was 002881, 2012.. if i'm reading this correct the tires were five years old upon buying the vehicle and they are now seven years old with 20,000 miles on them. i believe they are unsafe and were probable unsafe when i bought the vehicle
I am requesting that the dot nhtsa look into the possibility of a tire defect that can affect the safe operation of vehicles with cooper discoverer srx tires. i purchased a set of 4 cooper discoverer srx tires and had them professionally installed on my 2013 ford explorer. the size is 255/50r20. during the winter of 2018-19 they began to leak air excessively when it was cold. the loss would grow to a point the low air light came on every week. it was various tires causing the issue. this continued throughout the winter and into the spring of 2019. the leaks are more severe when driving than when the vehicle is stationary. i believe the tires may have been compromised to the point that they are continuing to leak when it is warm outside now. over the past 3 months i have had them in 2 separate times and have been told the tires do not have a hole in them nor leak at the bead but are leaking due to weather or other. i have made multiple attempts with cooper tires to handle the safety issue and they not handled their warranty matter. i have ...
Oem hankook tires on 2017 ford explorer: with less than 15,000 miles on my 2017 explorer, it began to hydroplane at much lower speeds than when new. the tires are oem, hankook, ventus s1 noble. i took the car to fugate ford, who said they recently processed two other vehicles with bad hankook tires. on closer inspection with doug at fugate, you could see the tire tread was ripping away from itself all the way around the tire. fugate took pictures and phoned hankook. fugate called me to say that because the tires had 6/32 tread remaining, they would not process the claim. hankook needed the tread wear to be 4/32 or less. in my view, that's ridiculous... these hankook tires are defective and unsafe, whether at 6/32 or 4/32. today, i had all four defective tires replaced.
Hankook ventus s1 noble2 (excluded from recall) are wearing extraordinary fast and the rubber is starting to pull apart, flake away. chucks of rubber are coming off of the tire and leaving holes that appear to be about 1/4 inch deep . this will be our second set of tires with the same issue and the vehicle has only 40,000 miles.
Purchased 2017 ford explorer february 2017 with original hankook ventus s1 noble2 255/50r20 105h tires. have 20,000 miles and have been rotated at each oil change; have been experiencing low air pressure readings, chipping on tires, and extreme treadwear. dealer suggested to contact hankook directly because others have experienced similar issues. many attempts to contact hankook customer service have not been successful...this is another dangerous issue similar to the firestone disaster.
The side wall of my hankook 255/50 r /20 ventus s1 noble 2 tire blew out. i have a 2" hole in the side wall of the tire. i was at a stop sign on a city street, and just started moving when the side wall blew out. it sounded like a large balloon explosion and the tire went flat instantly. some hankook tires have been recalled but the local ford dealer told me not this one. these hankook tires should be recalled.
