There was a recall on my 2015 ford explorer for the toe link suspension replacement. i had ot fixed on 1/7/20 and on 2/14/20 i was driving on 106 in springfield vermont doing 50 miles per hour and the toe link suspension they replaced broke and i lost total control of my suv. all most had head on collision i was almost killed. i had it towed to ford dealership and they took it apart again and stated that the reason the toe link suspension continues to break is due to the nuckle and bushings. and ford corporation said it was not covered and there for i was responsible for the repairs and total cost. which is $2,411 i do not have that kind of money. my suv is still at ford dealership. need help resolving this issue and get my suv fixed as it is there cause of the breakage. please tell people not to drive there vehicle if there toe link suspension is bad cause when it goes you have no control of your steering. and you never know when its gona happen. it's like sliding on ice side ways. very scary. never want to go though this ...
My son was driving and made a u turn on a city street and during the end of the u turn the passenger control arm snapped nearest to the wheel. the car did not hit a curb or run over anything to cause the break. the local police dept, tow truck driver and myself inspected the area and there was nothing that was "hit" to cause this. once the mechanic was able to look at the control arm when it was on the hoist they pointed out to us that the metal control arm was defective when it was cast or wasn't fabricated correctly. the metal was less dense and more hollow on one side of the break than the other side. the break was a clean break without jagged edges. this was the cause of the broken control arm. we where lucky since my son drives the freeway at 65mph speeds almost on a daily basis and if this front control arm broke at those speeds he would have lost control of his car and cause a major accident and there could have been a loss of life. we had routine maintenance work done on the car in october ...
I have received carbon monoxide poisoning from driving my 2013 ford explorer. i also have had the front end looked at and repaired had to pay most of the costs (extended warranty paid for some) for the front end popping sounds while turning. the sound is still there and on both sides now. so money wasted towards ford!! the vehicle isnt drivable at this point and that leaves me without a vehicle.
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 ford explorer. the contact stated that the front driver's side wheel detached due to the control arm being corroded. the contact called elder ford (777 john r rd, troy, mi 48083, (248) 825-8646) and was advised to schedule an appointment. the vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the metal of the upper control arm was not a good metal; therefore, the control arm was corroded through and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Vehicle was traveling at approximately 45 mph on a smooth strait stretch of road when a loud back was heard and a sudden loss of steering resulting in striking the curb as it came to a stop. upon inspection it appears the lower control arm failed just before the balljoint and had broken in half. this appears it's an issue across a range if explorers that utilize the same control arm.
Ford rear suspension toe link recall did not notify me through mail or other form and period has closed. i never received a notification letter for nhtsa recall number: 19v435 nhtsa date:jun 10, 2019 ford recall number: 19s17
After rear toe link recall was completed, vehicle rear end swayed while braking on rough roads. this was getting worse as was starting to happen without breaking. took vehicle to a different dealer (wilson ford saginaw, mi) than the one who did the recall work (lafontaine of birch run). mechanic found that two bolts (one lh and one rh) were not tightened from original recall work.
My car was completely totaled in an accident on 10/21/19. i received very serious multiple brain bleeds, facial lac, facial & head fx's & a severe tbi. my mom rec a concussion, facial lac concussion & a fx clavicle. we stopped at the stop sign & moved to the center between the 4 lanes & stopped again & we were hit by a large roll on roll off rock carrying dump truck in the middle of the lanes. the car was completely totaled & i was in a coma & airlifted to a trauma ctr approx 40 mins away, but i was in resp arrest & not expected to live. it is unknown exactly what caused the unsafe conditions, however i never cross straight across the traffic & we had been on a very very bumpy intersection the fri before the acc on monday & the car had not been driven since that 5 hr trip of extremely bumpy rough road conditions on interstate 95 coming through part of nc, all of sc & part of ga.
On my explorer the recall 19v-435 (ford number 19s17) was executed. after 3 month and approx. 2500mi the left new toe link broke. the car was running with 35mph to an intersection and i started moderate braking in front.of a traffic light. during braking the left new toe link broke.
The recall 19s17 (nhtsa 19v-435) affect the rear suspension .we bring in the car today and they replace the bad parts . now ford service is telling me that it affect my motor and transmission mounts but i have to pay $900 to replace those . vehicle is vibrating and shaking over 70mph . the mounts are here to minimise the vibration due to road defected , if the suspension don't do its work , and it wasn't because of the recall ... vehicle is only 90k miles
