My car has been over heating and having problems since i first bought it. i could not understand why i have to continue to keep fixing it after i just bought it. someone told me to check if it had a recall and sure enough it does! i checked on the dmv website today.
Tl* the contact owned a 2013 ford expedition. the contact stated that while driving about 65 mph in the rain, the vehicle flipped over (upside down) and spun without impact and no warning. all the air bags deployed. a police report was filed. the driver and the front passenger sustained minor cuts and bruises and were treated by the paramedics at the scene and released, without going to the emergency center. the vehicle was damaged and was towed to a police impound, waiting for the insurance company. the contact received an unknown recall (19b05) from the manufacturer via "customer satisfaction program": the dealer was not called. the manufacturer was called but no one answered the phone. the failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
Speedometer is reading incorrectly, does not match gps reported speed or the play place officers speed when he clocked me going 13 miles an hour over the speed my adaptive cruise was set at. cruise control was set at 76 miles an hour and my phone was not on the gas, the gps on my map application showed i was going 87 miles an hour and that is the speed the police officer noted as well.
While driving highway speed ~65mph on a straight highway vehicle showed wrench light and loss engine power. driver had to the side of the highway without speed control. ignition switch was turned off and back on and the wrench light was gone and the vehicle drove normally. the wrench light turned on again at ~40mph on a city street going straight a few days later. the driver again had to pull to the side and reset the ignition to regain accelerator control. vehicle diagnostic was run and no codes were stored.
Today as i was driving on perry rd about to turn onto fm 1960 rd e. when i started to accelerate to turn, my transmission down shifted while i'm driving at about 15 miles an hour instead of going up and jerked my car pretty good. i let go of the gas pedal for a second, then tried again slowly. the car started to jerk as if it was struggling to accelerate forward. it did after about 10 seconds. then the speedometer dropped down to 0 and my digital fuel information that's displayed on my dash dotted out and a screwdriver icon flashed for a few times. the car then started to move smoothly, but seemed stuck in gear. this followed with the tmps sensor kicking on. no check engine lights showed up during this period and when i got to where i was safe, i turned the car off for about 15 minutes. when i turned it on again, it was perfectly normal. this has happened before while i drove on a major highway and it is scary. no diagnostic test has found an issue and i cannot afford to pay for an exploratory service as i just did ...
Was driving on the freeway and vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating and a wrench flashed on the dashboard. i could not speed up. i had to find an exit right away. was riding with a close friend all 5 of my children. very very scary
My car at times will give a hard start. turning, but not fully turning over or gives off a sound that i can only describe as an elephant trumpeting. when it does start at times it will shut completely off just as fast. it hesitates to pick up adequate speed and will stumble or jerk, and when put in reverse it will completely stall out. i've had a new battery installed, and the spark plugs and boots have been changed, but to no avail.
Vehicle suddenly looses engine power while driving and goes into safe (or limp) mode. stepping on the accelerator does nothing, it doesn't even rev the engine, it's similar to being in neutral. it has occurred on 3 separate occasions, months between events - first, while attempting to accelerate onto an interstate highway, we suddenly lose engine power while attempting to merge into the right lane of traffic. we forced to slide over onto the right shoulder and stop. second occurrence happened while driving down a city street. we suddenly lose engine power and are forced to turn onto a neighborhood street and come to a complete stop. third time, again driving down a city street, suddenly lose engine power but there was no where to pullover or side street to turn onto. we forced to stop the vehicle in the middle road. luckily no one was directly behind us. in all cases, turning the engine off, waiting a minute, and then restarting the vehicle "fixed" or cleared the issue and we were able to continue driving. no obd-ii codes thrown after the event. ...
Electronic dial shifter will automatically switch from drive to park if the vehicle start stop button is depressed when the car is running. the parking brake also automatically switches on at the same time. consider what would happen if a 2018 ford expedition is traveling on a freeway in traffic and the start stop button were accidentally depressed. the car would shift into park, the parking brake would engage and the driver would decelerate rapidly from 65 mph to a stop with no notice, likely being rear ended by traffic ie; a semi truck at highway speed. the electronic shifter should stay in the selected gear when the start stop button is depressed as a convention shifter would, electric or mechanical. i determined this after going to a car wash, putting the car in neutral then depressing the stop button to save fuel. the carimmediately shifted from neutral to park and engaged the parking brake. i tested the drive, start button off, immediately switches to park on a flat street at zero speed. i realized as an engineer that if this happened at speed a fatal accident could occur. ford can remove this risk with a software update to the ...
