My wife was driving yesterday and without any warning, the vehicle lost power and she was almost in a accident!!! it was like the vehicle died. it only has about 44,000 miles on it and i just bought it with 41,000 on it. my wife was very scared and so was i, as i was at work and it took me an hour to get to her. i drove it today and it did the same thing to me, loss power as i was driving. apparently, many people have complained of this. i need this fixed as this is a common problem with this vehicle and you guys are aware of it. something with the throttle body and linkage! i need and want this fixed. my wife and i should not have to worry about something like this while she is on the road. i am very angry and disappointed in ford!!!!
Start engine, move transmission into reverse, transmission clunks loudly. when transmission is moved to drive, engine revs high, barely moves forward, speedometer stuck at zero despite moving up to 20mph. engine light comes on, airbag light comes on.

Driving my vehicle in traffic and it displayed a wrench symbol and start shaking lost power, had to drift to the side of the road in traffic. i had it towed to the dealer same day after 3 hours of being on side of the road they said it was the oil cap had came off, but you could not go but 20 mph. would like to know whys hasn't anyone issued an recall on this year model. to cover the cost of this issue, could have lost my life. please consider issuing a full recall.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford edge. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle's throttle failed and the accelerator pedal ceased to operate. the wrench warning icon illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. once the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle resumed normal driving. the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently and the check engine warning indicator steadily illuminated. russ milne ford (24777 hall rd, macomb, mi 48042, 888-875-0668) was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. the manufacturer was also notified and did not assist. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 54,000.
My wife's 2013 ford edge looses power while driving. the accelerator stops working and the car stops functioning. this has happened many times. we have called whites ford in urbana ohio to check on recall. there are no recalls for this and the vehicle is very unsafe to drive. the edge has 67k miles on it. has never been involved in any accident. ford should address these issues. we only drive the vehicle when necessary due to us not knowing when it will just loose power.
The wrench light and airbag lights were on. my speedometer wasn't working. transmission was clunking. the powertrain (wrench) & service engine signals come on after experiencing loss of speed such as after a traffic light stop. we have to push down far on the gas pedal just to move and this is followed by rough shifting (makes a sudden jerk and loud thud sound). everything goes back to normal for awhile when the vehicle is turned off; its like the car resets itself.

Tl* the contact's daughter owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service warning indicator illuminated. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 3 attempts. the vehicle resumed normal operation, but was towed by the insurance company to an independent mechanic. the mechanic diagnosed that the auto throttle body failed and needed to replaced. the independent mechanic cleaned the auto throttle body, but the failure recurred. ford of clermont (1101 east, w hwy 50, clermont, fl 34711, (352) 394-6161) stated that the vin was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the contact was advised to call nhtsa to file a complaint. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
Driving on the highway suddenly speedometer/odometer stopped working, low tire pressure light came on and car acceleration dropped and it wouldn't respond to increased pressure on gas pedal. car would not accelerate. had to get off the highway. car would only travel at a very low speed. made my way to a parking lot and shut the car off. shifting into any gear (reverse, drive etc.) caused the car to jump/shake and make a loud noise. after a while it resolved itself. took the car to a ford dealership. they checked it out, could find no issue (incidental finding - car needed battery). battery was replaced, picked up car and resumed driving the car. within a week was driving on the highway (second time since picking the car up) and had the same thing happen. driving on highway and suddenly see the speedometer/odometer stop working, low tire pressure light and lose ability to control acceleration of vehicle. had to get off the highway, car wouldn't travel at anything other than very low speed, jerked when shifted etc. this has happened twice and when looking it up ...
