Problems with 2013 Ford Edge FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On average, the 2013 Ford Edge starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 92 879 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2013 Ford Edge

The engine stopped while in motion (on multiple occasions), usually when coming to a stop or turning. i lost steering control as well. the error "low engine oil pressure" appeared on panel. after putting car in park and attempting to restart the car, it usually would restart right away. on one occasion, it took 2 attempts to start it. fortunately, there weren't any cars directly behind me or it would've likely caused an accident. a mechanic cleaned the throttle body, replaced a plug, and replaced a misfiring cylinder. the issue has not happened again in the 2 days since then.

While driving the car 40 miles it completely died and the steering wheel locked up. i took the car in for diagnostic test and it came back nothing. the car was giving back to me and it had the warning flashing on the dash with the wrench . i took several pictures. driving west on i-40 during rush hour traffic. i paid for this repair and see this exact same thing has happened. several month later the brakes felt like i was pushing on a brick. i was unable to stop,. the ford company has a recal on the brake boaster and i was told to pay 900.00 and maybe some time they will include my 2013 ford edge. sept 16 2019 , the check engine light is on. there is a recallfor the ford edge 2013 but again not mine i have a faulty purge valve . ford is charging 349.00 to put on a part that is again on recall. this part is also on the outside of the car.

2013 edge sudden loss of acceleration at anytime. going 75 down the interstate or 30mph through town. must pull to shoulder if road shut vehicle off and restart. very dangerous.

Throttle body malfunction. driving at 45mph car suddenly slows to 2 mph. shut off car start again, same thing happens. wrench light comes on. ford has extended warranty coverage on earlier ford edge models but does not on the 2013 edge. this is the identical problem and repair ( ford service diagnosed) at a cost of $600.00. very dangerous problem to occur suddenly slowing to a crawl in fast moving traffic. should have been a recall.

Check fuel inlet came on. then engine light several days later. the gas gauge will not read the level of gas. now the check engine light is coming on. the dealer said it is not covered under emissons. and it sure is. these fumes are getring in the air. and the valve is not working causing the gas can to get metal which will in turn tear this up .

My car will all of a sudden stop excels rating at high speeds. the rpms increase as the speeds decreases. the ford dealerships can not figure it out as it has to be doing it. it can happen 30 minutes into driving and then maybe 1.5 hours is, there is no consistency. it has happens for the past year. and now tracing for the past summer it is very anxious driving this car. i am not sure my car was cleared really with all the recalls.

My vehicle shutters several times when.moving in.motion. then warning.comes on check fuel inlet while in.motion. then moments pass and the vehicle shuts off automatically and in drive. then i panic.

July 21, 2019 driving along on a 35 mph road and car just stopped accelerating when pushing gas pedal. wrench indicator appeared and had to put car in neutral to safely pull over. car did restart after shutting off. same incident happened an hour later going the same speed. we researched and found the numerous other ford edge same complaints that the throttle body was in need of replacement. had it replaced and car is running smooth with no problems. this was a very scary and concerning issue. i can't imagine being on the expressway like others have experienced. ford make this right and put out a recall.

Fuel leak put gas and five minutes later the tank is half empty

Driving 45 mph when the engine lost power and a wrench icon light came on. engine was idling roughly and accelerator would not work. vehicle was towed to a dealer and service department could find no trouble codes and could not replicate the problem. the next day this same issue happened again at around 45 mph on a highway.

Check engine light came on. took it to vehicle service station and code p0299 came up. that is the code to replace turbocharger assembly. the vehicle is only 6 years old and under 100k miles. this issue should not be coming up on a vehicle that is not that old

The dash area where the passenger air bag is located has begun to crack. the entire right side of the air bag square has separated. also, when stopping the vehicle at a stop light, in traffic, etc., there is a strong odor of gasoline, especially if the fuel tank is less than full.

Fuel is leaking when pumping gas and smell of gas in the cabin?

Engine light comes on. had it hooked up to the machine and it is saying gas cap. it does not have a gas cap
