My wife was driving yesterday and without any warning, the vehicle lost power and she was almost in a accident!!! it was like the vehicle died. it only has about 44,000 miles on it and i just bought it with 41,000 on it. my wife was very scared and so was i, as i was at work and it took me an hour to get to her. i drove it today and it did the same thing to me, loss power as i was driving. apparently, many people have complained of this. i need this fixed as this is a common problem with this vehicle and you guys are aware of it. something with the throttle body and linkage! i need and want this fixed. my wife and i should not have to worry about something like this while she is on the road. i am very angry and disappointed in ford!!!!
My wife's 2013 ford edge looses power while driving. the accelerator stops working and the car stops functioning. this has happened many times. we have called whites ford in urbana ohio to check on recall. there are no recalls for this and the vehicle is very unsafe to drive. the edge has 67k miles on it. has never been involved in any accident. ford should address these issues. we only drive the vehicle when necessary due to us not knowing when it will just loose power.
Tl* the contact's daughter owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service warning indicator illuminated. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 3 attempts. the vehicle resumed normal operation, but was towed by the insurance company to an independent mechanic. the mechanic diagnosed that the auto throttle body failed and needed to replaced. the independent mechanic cleaned the auto throttle body, but the failure recurred. ford of clermont (1101 east, w hwy 50, clermont, fl 34711, (352) 394-6161) stated that the vin was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the contact was advised to call nhtsa to file a complaint. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
We have had our ford edge for about 3 years and no problems until a few weeks ago when wrench light came on and lost power to the accelerator. managed to get the car over to the shoulder turned the ignition off and back on and everything seemed fine. it was then good for a couple of weeks and again did it 5 times the other day when i was driving on highway 91e one of the most busy here in california.this condition can put you in a very unsafe situation.
On 4 separate occasions since september 2018, vehicle has shut down without warning while traveling on major highways and heavy traffic. gas pedal did not respond when pressed. lucky to have avoided serious accidents. ford dealer/repair could not identify or repeat problem, but clearly there is a problem.
My daughter left for work at 6 in the morning, it was minus 25/30 with the wind chill. she went to make a left turn on to a main state truck route and the car started to shake and shutter and lost all power. the engine light came on too. after the car quit completely it then was restarted. it continued to act up. a friend checked it and his computer was showing codes for the throttle body and sensors. it is now at the dealership. i called ford and was told there is no recall or extended warranty for the issue. i was told they would note my complaint and if it is ever recalled or ok'd for and extended warranty then they would let us know and she could be reimbursed. we live off 2 state truck routes that are heavily traveled, but as she is a young female at dark with a vehicle that is dark and the road is icy and its cold enough that schools and places have shut down and people have died from exposure in this , i will not lose a child because ford is to lazy to pull their head outta their keister and start thinking old school again and consider their customers. fix the issue! don't sweep it under the rug because its easier than facing your "new style" vehicles have issues. i have no use for ford. my expedition, my aunts expedition and her daughters escape all did this exact same thing. at this moment we are waiting to hear from the dealership as to what is going on. if this site allows me to update i will. she was going approximatly 30 mph and as she pressed on the gas peddle it slowly died.
2013 ford edge vin# (xxxxxx) 58665 miles my wife drives this car and was completely unnerved when 3 times the car lost power immediately after a stop and then a left turn into traffic. she is a very careful driver and there was time for her to glide off to the shoulder where she shut the car off and waited. the potential of getting rear-ended by oncoming traffic is very real and she is now afraid to drive. *parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*
While driving my 2013 ford edge at 70mph on the highway in traffic i received a wrench notification on my dash and the engine began to stall leaving me with no power to control my speed. as my car quickly reduced speed on a major highway i attempted to get over to the shoulder out of harms way. once i was off the highway the vehicle began to shake and i powered down the vehicle. when starting the vehicle again i was prompted with the check engine light.
While driving down road (highway) car goes into a limp mode and will trust start slowing down and eventually comes to a slow crawl less than 5 mpg.
Traveling on secondary road and experienced sudden power loss. "awd off" message appeared on screen, along with wrench icon. i managed to limp onto the shoulder (thank god i was not on the highway). car would not rev up or move. i turned the engine off, and restarted it. everything seemed to be fine at that point, but i am very afraid of this happening during my daily commute on a busy highway.
Unexpected loss of power and wrench and parking shift messages shown on my suv display. on 03312018 my ford edge sport awd 2013 surprised me when an unexpected loss of power happen during an slow motion in a secondary road. unable to manage my vehicle i stop at the nearest gas station using the slope backwards in neutro shift until reach the gas station behind me. then when stop i began to read vehicle book and shut down the vehicle as recommended. after 30 mins i restart the vehicle and the loss power disappear reason why i decide to return back to my home. when i enter to the consumer report page from my pc at home to request info for any recall for this vehicle i find out that a recall number exist for this type of suv. the recall number is 14s10 since august2014 but i never has been advised. few month ago i went to the dealer for a review of a problem but they did nothing and said that the vehicle was in perfect condition avoiding their responsibility to tell me about any recall for this problem. i still experimenting the same situation since 03312018, risking my life and the life of other people in the road as my suv continues without losing power but taken the pertinent precaution. i still very worry as the consumer report stated that in addition this failure may cause the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied despite the transmission being placed in park.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while the vehicle was stationary, the throttle body malfunctioned. the contact depressed the accelerator pedal slightly and the vehicle rapidly lunged forward independently. due to the failure, the contact struck the dashboard and was injured. medical attention was not received. hub city ford in lafayette, louisiana was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000.
While driving on the freeway, car lost power at around 80 mph. my car would not accelerate when going up an incline and takes a while to pick up any speed. this happened on the freeway with my wife and my 1 year old which is extremely dangerous
When i go to put my car i park and take my foot off the break the car will roll forward several feet or if i am on a hill it will roll backward several feet. when i am driving on the highway the car will just stop accelerating at 80mph. on several occasions i was trying to get around a truck and the car just stopped accelerating almost causing an accident.
While driving, there is a sudden loss of engine power, the engine light and wrench light indicator come on and the car slows down to a crawl with limited acceleration, more like idle speed. the situation happens 1x-2x per week. after turning the car off and then restarting the car will run normall. this has happens at random times with no other influences like weather. it is extremely unsafe to be in the car when this situation occurs. you are immediately put into unsafe driving conditions with the potential to cause traffic issues. even more freightenin is you become a target to be in an acccident if others are not paying attention to you sudden loss of speed.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the vehicle did not move when the accelerator pedal was depressed. there was no warning indicator illuminated. while the contact's vehicle was parked in a garage, it rolled away and crashed into a parked vehicle. the contact came to a stop on a barbwired fence. there was no warning indicator illuminated. a police report was filed. the air bags did not deploy. there were no injuries. the vehicle was damaged, but was drivable. the vehicle was taken to johnson-sewell ford-lincoln (830-693-5577, located at 3301 us-281, marble falls, tx 78654) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the contact was offered a discount towards the repair cost. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was unknown.
I was slowly turning right into a gas station when my vehicle died. the steering froze and nothing worked. thankfully i was able to coast into the gas station where i put the car in park, turned it off, and then back on. it started fine. if i had been on the highway, i would be dead!!!! this is incredibly dangerous!!!!
A yellow wrench light warning comes on the dash. when that happens the vehicle loses all acceleration power. you have to limp the vehicle the to the side of the road to turn the engine off and then start it back. this is a very dangerous situation when in traffic. i feel this could cause a wreck. i am concerned about my safety as well as other peoples safety. this has happened at least 10 times in the last 10 days. i took the vehicle to the local ford dealer. they replaced the throttle body and informed me that this was not covered under any warranty or recall. i know that other ford vehicles have this same issue
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, the vehicle's speed reduced and would only accelerate to 4 mph. a wrench warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and turned off the engine. when the vehicle was restarted, it returned to normal. the vehicle was taken to the local dealer (pines ford lincoln located at 8655 pines blvd, pembroke pines, fl 33024; (954) 443-7000) where it was diagnosed that the electric throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted at 866-436-7332 and stated that the vin was not included in a recall. case number: cas12510115 was provided. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 88,000.
While driving on the highway (doing 70 mph) my vehicle randomly stalled out. i was forced to coast to a stop, pull over, and turn my car off and turn it back on to begin driving again. it later happened an hour later at a stop light while making a left hand turn and then again at the next light on the road. after looking up possible problems, it was found that countless others with the same vehicle have the same stalling problem while driving. this creates a serious and dangerous risk for drivers on the road. i have an appointment to have the ford dealership look at my vehicle, however from others who have spoken on their experiences with the same problem, the dealership states that they cannot "recreate the problem". thus sending the customer on their way stating that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. just 1 of the many forums where others voice the same problem. http://www.carproblemzoo.com/ford/edge/car-stall-problems.php this vehicle must be recalled before a serious accident or death occurs due to ford's negligence.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. the contact stated that the wrench warning indicator flashed and the vehicle had a sudden loss of power. the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted to reset the code. the check engine warning indicator also illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer issued a technical service bulletin, but there was no recall to provide a solution. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Twice now within two days, my wife or i have been driving along at 20-30 mph through the neighborhood and the vehicle has lost propulsion. i say this because the motor stays running, but doesn't accept input from the gas petal. service wrench comes on, but vehicle diagnostics come back ok. turn vehicle off, cranks up and drives fine. the interwebs says its a throttle body issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving approximately 20 mph, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle when the brake pedal was depressed. the vehicle accelerated without warning and the contact crashed into a pole. the contact sustained arm, knee, and back injuries that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed major repairs. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
I was driving down the highway going 65mph on 3 different occasions when my car decellerates and i lose power. i managed to pull to the side of the highway and had to restart my car.
This issue started a little over a year ago. i would be driving on the freeway or street and all of a sudden my maintenance light would come on, my car would begin to shake/rattle and all of a sudden i could no longer accelerate. if i could, i would pull over, sometimes i had to stop in the middle of the intersection on an incline and completely shut my car off. i would wait a few seconds and it would start back up and run no problem. i took it into 1 ford and they couldn't find the problem. i took it into a 2nd ford earlier this year in march and they claimed they found the issue. i spent over $1,000 replacing throttle body and fuel filler neck, which they claimed had a leak in it and was causing the problem. since then, i haven't had any issues, until yesterday. again, i was driving home from work and my maintenance light came home, car started shaking and could no longer accelerate. this is a major safety concern as i'm afraid every time i make a turn in front of oncoming traffic that my car is going to lose power and i'm going to get t-boned. i've read on carcomplaints.com that many other people are having this same issue. it's only a matter of time before ford has a big lawsuit on hand. they better fix this! *tr
Car will stall and go into limp mode, yellow wrench appears on left hand display. this has happened twice within the last 3 months, once in the middle lane of a rush hour freeway travelling at 40mph. i was lucky to get across to the shoulder before i lost all momentum. no response when pushing the accelerator, engine shakes badly. have to restart the car in order to continue travel. all research points to faulty electronic throttle body. ford service center advisers agree but refuse to perform repair under warranty as there are no codes. the codes get wiped after restarting the engine.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a new throttle body. the vehicle was taken to be repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 52,400.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving various speeds and attempting to accelerate quickly, the vehicle stalled. the service engine soon warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure was unable to be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 33,000.
While the vehicle was in motion, driving down a state highway, it stopped responding to pressure on the accelerator.a light on the dash advised me to check the manual. i had to pull off the road, turn off the engine, then restart it, which reset the throttle an allowed me to continue home. this process was repeated three times on the interstate on my way to work. i had the same problem in january, when the dealership couldn't find the problem, and sent me home in a faulty vehicle, only to have it delivered to them via tow truck a day later, resulting in them replacing the throttle body. five months later, i have the same problem, but the car is out of warranty, so they wont replace it. they do, however want to charge me a $120 diagnostic fee, after i told them exactly what the problem was. this has put my life in danger a total of six times, to date. it is a known problem. there should be a recall.
Purchased this vehicle march 29, 2016. less than 2 months later the vehicle started randomly stalling and going into limp mode and i had to pull over on the busy dc highway with 2 small children in the back which was extremely dangerous. the check engine light and a wrench light came on but it cut off after a restart. auto zone couldnt read the codes unless the car was malfunctioning at the time which happens randomly. since the car is still within the powertrain warranty i took it to the ford dealership and they diagnosed it as p2111 electric throttle body failure. the advisor agreed that this has been a common problem in ford models and i read that a consumer safety program was started for other ford models with the exact same problem. the advisor said it is not covered by the powertrain warranty and since there is no recall for this problem with ford edges i have to pay $800+ dollars to have it repaired. this is outrageous. apparently someone has to lose their life before ford issues a recall on this known issue. i hope the nhtsa steps in before something tragic happens! ive attached a picture showing the lights on the dash after about the 10th time the car stalled.
When turning into a drive way at low speeds the power steering gave out and the breaks and gas pedal were not responding and the low oil pressure to engine message came on the dash. i turned the car off and gave it a few minutes, and when i turned it back on and had it towed to a dealer they couldn't find any code nor could they replicate the problem after having for 3 days. i am worried if this happens again and at higher speeds like when on the highway. i have researched that ford had similar issues with the throttle body on other models and years but not the 2013 edge. this needs to be addressed.
When driving my car the engine will go to idle with no warning. i can be making a turn, accelerating, or just cruising at speed. this has been recalled on most all other ford vehicles. i could just get it replaced, but the issues is not only the throttle body, its the programming. if it finds an issue with the throttle body it gives up, and stalls. in the recalled fords with this they have changed the programming so it keeps trying to accelerate, not just give up. with that being said there is no point to change it, it will only happen again after i spend $1000 to fix it. this is very dangerous! the first time i was making a left in to traffic and it cut out, lucky for everyone they had enough time to stop before i got t-boned my 3 lanes of traffic. ford will not rectify this issue until more people die! please help with an investigation! codes given by obd2 are p2111 and p2112. at the same time. thank you. *tr
I was driving to walmart when the vehicle suddenly dropped from 45mph to less than 3mph and no matter what input was given to the gas pedal the vehicle would not react. the tack was under 900 and on the left side of the dash a warning came up looking like a wrench. once i pulled over tried to do a vehicle report and the vehicle was unable to do a maintenance check. shut off engine and restarted the vehicle; no problems restarting the vehicle and no memories of why the engine did what it did (called "limp home status"). there is also no memory within the pcm about the vehicle going into this mode or why.this could be very dangerous if i was on a high way. a quick google search reveals hundreds of complaints of this happening; all with same resolution. the vehicle has no idea why it went into limp home and no memory of that status after restart.
Driving ford edge 2013 approx. 40 mph on highway when the vehicle came to almost a dead stop. it seemed as if the brakes became fully engaged or the transmission seized. a truck behind us swerved and braked and almost crashed into us. my 2 children and i would have been killed. the vehicle shook violently as it moved about 2 mph. i barely was able to get it over to the right, off the highway. it would not go any further. a red wrench icon lit on the dash. i towed it to midway ford. service manager stated the throttle body part is defective and recalled, but resets itself if vehicle is turned off for a while, so if i did not turn off the vehicle, ford would fix it for free. since i turned off the vehicle and it reset, i had to pay him $900 to replace it. since i did not have $900, he advised me to drive the vehicle very slowly on the right side of the road from now on, as a precaution so my children or i do not get injured or killed the next time it happens. if this is ford's criteria for replacing this life threatening defective part, that it must be in active defect status when arriving at the dealer, then not only has ford has found a way to beat paying for the 1.6 million vehicles they agreed to recall with this defect, since you can't drive the vehicle at 900 rpm to the dealer, or tow it while running, but ford is getting rich off the recall (the part is about $185 and takes 15 minutes to replace), and 1.6 million people must pay ford $900 to fix a recalled defective part.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving 50 mph, the vehicle decelerated without the brake pedal being depressed. the failure occurred on three other occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
While coming off an on ramp from one highway to another doing approximately 60 mph my 2013 ford edge jerked, a wrench popped up on my dash, and it lost power. the accelerator did not work but the car was still idling. luckily i was in the far left lane and there was an emergency lane on the left so i was able to coast to a stop. when i put my car in park, turned it off and turned it back on it was like nothing was wrong. the accelerator worked and the wrench was gone. however, this have since happened to be two more times and lower speeds. both times luckily no one was behind me and when i turned the car back on everything worked. i have seen many other drivers who have had this same issue. it appears to be an issue with the throttle body. there should be a recall. this is extremely dangerous!
This incident has happened 4 times in the past month and a half. my car completely shuts off and i have no control over the steering or speed. when i restart my car, it turns on. there haven't been any check engine lights or other notifications until today when it happened for the fourth time and the low oil pressure indicator came on and in the indicator box a wrench is now displayed. the first incident i was pulling out of a parking lot into traffic when it happened. the second incident i was pulling into a parking lot. the third incident i was sitting at a red light attempting to accelerate and the car just shut down and this final incident i was driving approximately 5 mph and in traffic, the car just shut down. in all instances the car started back up but if this had happened in any instance that i was going faster or crossing an intersection, i fear i would be killed or injured. i have seen that there are other owners having the same complaint and i just fear that someone will die from this.
I was driving my 2013 ford edge when i went to stop at a stop sign and the brake pedal was extremely hard to push. the car did not want to stop, it slowed but kept rolling forward while i was stomping on the brakes. it did it again when i was trying to park at a restaurant, the brake pedal was stuck and i kept rolling forward till the pedal gave and sunk to the floor board and the car finally jerked to a stop. after those 2 incidents my husband drove it to the ford dealership in town, while he was driving it he almost rear ended the vehicle in front of him. the dealer tested the brake booster and it failed. the dealer replaced the brake booster. there were no warning signs that the brakes were going bad, all of a sudden i couldn't stop my car, i'm really cornered that this could happen again and that i may end up in an accident.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford edge. while driving at 3 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated independently. as a result, the contact crashed into the rear of a vehicle and into the passenger side of another vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained minor bruises that did not require medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an auto body repair center. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 17,000.
While driving my 2013 ford edge lost all power in a turn. the engine shut down, the low oil light came on and i had a hard time steering the car due to the lost of power and the car still in drive. fortunately no one was behind me or in front of me at the time. upon reading several forums on this problem i find that i'm not the only one who has experienced this problem as it appears this problem has been happening for years. what does it take to get a recall on this problem, a fatal accident? i'll be taking my car to the dealer since i drive in traffic every day and i can't afford this to happen in that condition, but it sounds like the dealer won't do anything about the problem as per previous posts indicate such. *tr
We're keeping smell burning "rubber burning" smell like a fire burn. transmission fluid was empty and no fluid there with no leaking, i had to pour fluid. took this to dealership, they seems do not want to help or something like that. they were told me it was fine, didn't see anything wrong which this is not first time that i complain about that. i have decided to read another people who complain about smell issues so i am not only one. it has also not control very well when i was speeding. *tr
My wife was driving the 2013 edge when she stop in a left turn lane. she found the road was clear and stepped on the gas but the car did not go forward. instead a warning message popped out saying the engine level is too low. then she turned off the engine and restarted the car. same thing happened and the car just didn't accelerate. at last she managed to coast the car to the roadside and called me for help. i arrived in about 20 mins, checked the oil level and coolant temp but found nothing wrong. so i restarted the car and this time it could accelerate as usual. after getting home i contacted the ford roadside assist and had them tow the car to the nearby dealer. there they scanned the car but all tests passed and no code had been recorded. the explanation given by the ford hotline is that the boa(brake over accelerator) feature reduces engine power during off-idle driving when the accelerator and brake pedals are applied simultaneously. i think that doesn't make any sense. i also tried to step on both the brake and gas with one foot but there is no way you can duplicate the problem. this will be really scary if it happens on the freeway. i feel so frustrated by ford. *tr
At least five separate times, while driving at high rates of speed, my 2013 ford edge will begin to hesitate and shudder. the check engine light begins to flash and then the vehicle suddenly loses power. i can barely keep the vehicle going at about 20 miles an hour. i can generally coast to the side of the road or freeway. i have to turn off the vehicle and let it sit for several minutes before i can turn it back on and restore power to drive it. it is still under warranty. i have had the vehicle into the ford dealer service three times for this problem. they cannot diagnose and replicate the problem. despite the check engine light being on, the computer is throwing no error messages. this is a very unsafe and scary situation. i refuse to drive the vehicle again. to do so would put myself in danger, my passengers and other drivers in danger. i have applied to ford motor company for a buy back under their "reacquisition program" but was told on january 8, 2015 that the vehicle does not qualify under california lemon law. i was given no explanation or opportunity to discuss this decision with ford. my problem sounds very similar to what is described in this article, although my edge is a 4-cylinder with an eco-boost engine. http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1084213_ford-owners-file-lawsuit-claim-ecoboost-engine-loses-power-during-acceleration. *tr
I was driving to work 6:30 am small incline and vehicle jerked and stopped ,i put it into park pushed the red ok button restarted the vehicle and drove straight to dealer. they said it was the throttle body and fixed it and changed the codes the throttle was out of range. *tr
We were returning home via i55 and i turned on the adaptive cruise control and the pre-collision system. three times in the space of an hour, without any vehicle in front of us, the vehicle brake itself. there was a tractor and trailer next to us and cars behind us on the two lane highway. after the third incident i turned off the pre-collision system but left the adaptive cruise control on. some time later with different vehicles, but the same types in the same relative positions, the car brake violently, the warning lights in the windshield were blinking and a siren was sounding and there was no one in front of us again. the attempted stop by the car was so violent it threw us forward. we have not driven the car since and it has been at the ford dealer waiting for a diagnosis and a part that may fix the issue. the edge has been at the dealer since the the 27th of december and no one has any idea as to when the "part" may be in. we took possession of the car on december 20th, 2014. i contacted ford asking for a buy back and am waiting to hear. both the dealership service manager and a ford field engineer experienced the same issues. *tr
Vehicle was being driven and approached a stop sign. when driver attempted to apply the brakes, the accelerator was stuck and did not slow down. the vehicle ran through the stop sign, struck a fence and then 2 other vehicles before coming to a stop. *tr
Federal should start investigate on the edge issues, i have researched on people who own ford edge, they have the same problem that i am having now. my 2013 edge is having a smell rubber or burning when you hard on the gas pedal and will smell burning, that will cause my wife and i have a headache really bad from this smell. i keep took my suv to the ford, but they keep telling me they don't see any problem but over 81 people who complain about that issues so i think it is time for federal to take the action! i am consider to hire the lawyer and sue ford because i believe that ford do knows but won't admit it. *tr
Ford customer service reference # [xxx] 2013 ford edge vin [xxx] on the morning of april 9, 2013 my wife ([xxx]) was driving to work at an elementary school. she was approaching the school at about 20 mph on level street when she noticed that the vehicle was difficult to control. she soon realized that the engine had stalled. luckily there were no children present and she was able to bring the vehicle to a stop without incident. she started the vehicle and pulled into the school parking lot. i reported the problem to the dealer (town and country ford of evansville indiana) and was told to bring it in so that they could find the cause of the problem. they could not find the cause and told me to bring it back in the next time that the problem occurred. i also informed them of a problem with the seat moving for no known reason and about getting much less than the stated gas mileage on pure highway driving. i was told that they could not do anything about these problems either. i requested the number of someone that i could call to complain about these issues. i was given the number of the customer service department. because of the seriousness of the problem the initial contact referred me to a manager. initially the manager offered no more that the dealership, that is to bring it in after it fails again. i explained my concerns about the safety issues of losing control at a high rate of speed or in a school zone. he stated that there were no other reports of this problem. (i wonder how many people have to be killed before they get concerned about a safety issue.) after an extensive heated discussion he agreed to have the vehicle further evaluated at the dealership. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
