We have classified the 1 complaints from 2013 Ford Edge about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
Opening/closing driver side door; driver door ajar light stays on when door is closed which leaves on interior lights after exiting the vehicle. it has started to occur more often within the last month, approx 85,000 miles. when the driver ajar light is on my door locks will not engage/initiate during driving like they should normally do. contacted used car dealer and they suggest the charge to fix can range from 195.00-450.00, depending on the issue, sensor replacement etc..... *tr
This is for a 2013 ford edge sel awd model, recently the driver's door ajar indicator keeps coming on , and interior lights on with it, slamming the door a few times , sometimes corrects it. but it is an ongoing issue, and seems to be getting more and more frequent, very annoying, and if it does it upon leaving the vehicle parked , interior lights stay on and run down the battery. while driving it sometimes comes on, and unlocks the doors, because it thinks this door is ajar, when in fact the door is closed tight. ford should recall and fix this issue, apparently it's been going on for years with several different models, and they want more than $400 to repair their faulty switch issue.
Attempted to lock door after 'door ajar' chimed on. slammed door several times but the warning did not go away. drove to work like this and the doors didn't lock after going 10mph. this occurs everyday. i don't know if my door will open if involved in an accident or what. nothing has been corrected as of this writing.
This is a 2013 ford edge limited. it has 13,000 miles and is 15 months old. this vehicle has a myford touch screen and system. this system has been giving us problems since we got the edge. on september 17, 2013 my wife was stopped in a parking lot trying to get the myford touch system to make a call from her cell phone. this cell phone has been paired to the myford touch system since day 1 but refused to recognize the phone to make a call. she was touching the screen to make the call and the screen cracked. the systems that are part of the screen will not work now due to the cracked screen. the driver is forced to manually work around the system controls since the touch screen will not work. ford regional service refuses to replace the cracked touch screen as a warranty issue. the vehicle is well within the warranty period. ford requires $1,500 to replace the cracked touch screen. ford has multitudes of issues with this myford touch system which the touch screen is a part of the overall system. this cracked screen needs to work to make the vehicle as safe to drive as advertised by ford. ford is simply not covering the replacement of an item that is needed for the vehicle to perform safely. *tr
