Problems with 2012 Ford Edge EXTERIOR LIGHTING

On average, the 2012 Ford Edge starts to “feel” problems with the EXTERIOR LIGHTING and its various aspects after 58 993 miles.

Recently reported EXTERIOR LIGHTING problems on 2012 Ford Edge

I get ready to start my day as usual i go and start my vehicle (stationary) to warm it up, as i got ready to set the temperature in the suv i noticed the bottom touch panel did not light up. so i pushed the button to turn off the heat that was blowing and it didnt turn off, i tried and again and nothing. its to hot in texas with little children to have electrical problems that effect the air conditioning. i pushed other buttons to see if anything worked and still nothing, the hazard lights will not function nor will the electric windows. my family and i drove the vehicle to my destination afterwards i had the fuses tested they are good, but was told it is front interface control module. this is my only vehicle and hopefully a ford dealership can give a better diagnosis than auto part store.

When i am driving to work at 5:00 am down the interstate my interior lights will just come on. my edge has interior lights that won't go off door ajar is on the dashboard. late at night when my car is not in motion and my lights just turn on my home security system has recorded it several times and the car has sat off for many hours. my door ajar light is always on. for safety reasons this should be addressed by the ford company.

Door ajar sensor is failing. door ajar message stays on with door closed (driver's) making driving very difficult with constant warning beeps and dome light on (even at night). i have to open and shut the door multiple times very hard for it to go away. many many people have had this issue, and apparently it progressively gets worse until they have constant beeping warning, dome light on while driving at night, doors that won't lock while driving and the constant risk of a dead battery after returning to their parked vehicle. i've already had to buy a new battery due to the dome light staying on after parking. this is very dangerous and deserves a recall. the current fix apparently requires replacing the entire latch for around $400, every two years on average. this is ridiculous.

The driver's side door ajar is constantly on. i have opened and shut the door multiple times and even tried to do what some youtube videos have shown. dome light sometimes stays on after i park, sometimes goes off. i will have a dead battery and probably additional costs unless i want to pay $400+ to ford to fix this known issue.

Door ajar stays on

Faulty door latch sensor on rear driver side door. the door ajar light comes on when the door is fully closed causing the interior lights to come on as well. the interior light stay on even after the car is shut off causing draining of the battery. the door ajar light has even come on when driving. problem started over a month ago and has been sporadically happening

The door ajar sensor is always on. when i start driving the lights are on until i move a few feet. i am not able to lock my doors or use my remote start. it has killed my battery. when my car is parked and turned off the lights will come on and off randomly.

When i get into my car, close the door, and start the engine, the passenger door ajar sign comes on. it stays on, as well as the overhead lights, even if i shut the passenger door.

The driver door and rear driver door "door ajar" notification's do not turn off, even when the doors are closed. this causes the dome lights to stay on which drains the battery, and then the vehicle will not start later. this also prevents the doors from locking while driving. this is an ongoing issue and can not seem to be resolved, even after a mechanic cleaned and lubricated the door latches.

Battery drains due to some lights staying on as well as driver door ajar light staying on, although all doors are shut. these issues happend thus far when trying to park the vehicle and when entering to drive. the light will stay on during driving.

Door ajar light comes on and it is draining my battery.the ddor latch is defective

The door ajar light comes on when door is completely shut on the drivers side, it prevents from my doors from locking and i have children in the car. it has trapped me in the car, i had to climb over into the passenger seat and exit out of that door. it also drains my battery because the lights stay on in the car.

Door ajar indicator stays on when door is fully closed keeping interior lights on when driving causing vision problems at night. also will not allow doors to be locked when car is in motion.car has only 12000 miles and is in like new condition and has not been exposed to harsh weather conditions.does not occur every time but is becoming frequent.

Door latch won't close. shows that door is ajar and the lights on inside won't go off because the door looks as if it's open. it happens each time the drivers side door is opened. this has been happening for a few years. in 2014, i thought ford had fixed the issue and i found out today that they only cleaned it. having to pay $588 for a new door latch isn't good especially when there was a recall for several ford vehicles regarding this issue.

The "door ajar" light will not shut off even when the door is closed and this leaves the interior lights on which is a nighttime driving hazard. the dealer says the latch is defective and ford will not assist in the repair. this happens when the car is moving and stationary. due to the high cost (over $550.00) people are going to ignore the repair and then drive impaired. so how many accidents are required before ford is forced to deal with this issue? *tr
